When Supernatural premiered on the then WB on September 13, 2005, it was billed in the media as a “little horror show.”  The story of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers traveling across the country fighting supernatural evil, immediately struck an emotional chord with viewers. The early days of the show focused on urban legends such as Bloody Mary and Hook Man. Later, the mythology introduced angels and a civil war in Heaven. Still, the relationship between the Winchesters is the heart of Supernatural.

Over the years, Supernatural has redefined itself as more than a “little horror show.’

Brian Buckley Band’s music speaks directly to the heart via @tdmiller820917 @followbbb

Solitude is a blessing and a curse. In those quiet moments, we give ourselves permission to be vulnerable. We don’t need to mold ourselves into an acceptable public persona. We are who we are. When we are vulnerable, we bare our souls. It is scary. Yet, purity also comes from such moments.

That is what I find most inspiring about Brian Buckley Band’s music. The lyrics and melodies are raw and authentic, rich and yes, emotionally vulnerable. Bram Stoker Award winning writer Lucy A. Snyder is the author of numerous books, including Chimeric Machines, Spellbent, Shotgun Sorceress, Switchblade Goddess, Soft Apocalypses, While the Black Stars Burn, Shooting Yourself in the Head for Fun and Profit: A Writer’s Survival Guide. In addition, her work is in the soon to be released books Scary Out There (August 30th) and Shadowed Souls (November 1st).
