The 96th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will take place on March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. During the gala, the AMPAS will present Academy Awards (commonly referred to as Oscars) in 23 categories honoring films released in 2023. The ceremony, to be televised in the United States by ABC, will be produced by Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel is scheduled to host the show for the fourth time, following the 89th ceremony in 2017, the 90th ceremony in 2018, and the 95th ceremony in 2023. The 95th Academy Awards will be presented on March 12, 2023, in a ceremony held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The awards will honor films released in 2022. The event will be televised in the U.S. by ABC and will be produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss. Weiss is also the director. Comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will host the show for the third time, after the 89th and 90th editions of the ceremony in 2017 and 2018 (Wikipedia).

The 94th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021, and is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, on March 27, 2022 hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. Shortlists of films to compete for nominations in ten categories were announced on December 21, 2021. The nominations were announced on February 8, 2022, by actors Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan. It will be the first time since the 83rd Academy Awards in 2011 where the ceremony will feature multiple hosts. The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2019 and will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. After more than a decade of holding the Academy Award ceremonies in at least late February, the 92nd Academy Awards will be held earlier – on February 9, 2020. During the ceremony, AMPAS will present Academy Awards (commonly referred to as Oscars) in 24 categories. The ceremony will be televised in the United States by ABC, produced by Lynette Howell Taylor and Stephanie Allain, and directed by Glenn Weiss. Catching Up on Oscar Winning Movies: A Review of @RoomTheMovie from @kleffnotes

You would think that a woman who works at a video store would be caught up on the things that get nominated for Academy Awards, right? Well, that is definitely not the case. Actually it’s never the case. I don’t live in a big city, which often means our one movie theater gets passed over for productions that are considered more independent or artsy. We get the big blockbusters yes, but a number of movies that were nominated we either didn’t get at all or only got for a week during the last year. We didn’t get Room at all, but it showed up at the video store right after the Oscars and I jumped on the chance to watch it. The Danish Girl: A Visual Review from @kleffnotes

Today is Oscar Day and I thought I would discuss one of the movies currently nominated for an Academy Award, The Danish Girl. While the movie is nominated for Best Male Lead Actor, Eddie Redmayne, and Best Supporting Actress, Alicia Vikander, I wanted to focus more on the visual effect of the movie. The acting in The Danish Girl is wonderful, the actors are a pleasure to watch, but I was more struck by the elegance of what was going on around them.
