July 23 is Charisma Carpenter’s birthday.
Fans of the television cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel know Carpenter for her role as Cordelia Chase, former popular mean girl turned Champion for the forces of good.
As Cordelia, Charisma displayed charm, wit and strength. Ms. Chase wasn’t one to run and hide from danger. She’d face it head on determined to show it who was boss.
After ending her Angel run, Carpenter appeared on Charmed, Veronica Mars and The Lying Game among her many television credits. She reunited with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel co-star James Marsters (Spike) on the Supernatural episode “Shut up, Dr. Phil.” Her more recent roles include Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and 9-1-1.
As Angel celebrates its 20th Anniversary in October, it was announced that Carpenter, Alexis Denisof (Wesley), J. August Richards (Gunn), Amy Acker (Fred/Illyria) and James Marsters (Spike) will be in the panel at New York Comic Con. The cast also appeared on the cover of Entertainment Weekly for a reunion issue. A few members of the cast will be appearing at Starfury’s The Vampire Ball in October in to celebrate Angel’s anniversary.
Along with Christian Majewski, Charisma hosts The Opposite Sex Show podcast where “they explore their similarities through the diversity of their gender from various topics, life experiences and exclusive interviews.”

Charisma is vocal on social media sharing her opinions on issues. For her birthday, she asked that donations be made to KIND (Kids In Need of Defense), which protects unaccompanied children who enter the US immigration system alone to ensure that no child appears in court without an attorney.
On this your birthday, Charisma I wish you continued success and happiness in you life and career.
