Oh Kevin, You Lovable Idiot: A Review of @Ghostbusters from @kleffnotes

I know what you might be thinking, Katherine why are you writing this review, aren’t you afraid the trolls will attack you? And no lie, I am not looking forward to the potential flack that this review could bring me, but I’m going to be brave and say I ain’t afraid of no trolls. Even though I am because seriously scary folks lurk on the internet, but I’m embracing my own kick butt lady power and saying I liked the new Ghostbusters movie. Yes, I liked it. Before you get angry, yes, I have seen the original movies and yes, more than once. I even watch the first one on repeat at the video store where I currently work when the mood strikes me. I have been looking forward to seeing this reboot because I like Paul Feig movies and I think all the women involved in this production are really funny. After watching it I can say that I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Continue reading “Oh Kevin, You Lovable Idiot: A Review of @Ghostbusters from @kleffnotes”

In Depth Look At Brooklyn’s Own Hero: Bucky Barnes via @CoffeeZ0mbie

I’m posting this on behalf of a good friend of NGE @CoffeeZ0mbie. Hope y’all enjoy as much as I did!

Lately my mind has been obsessing over the MCU Bucky Barnes (When isn’t it, honestly?). Not comic Bucky, since I haven’t read a large number of Cap comics. Just MCU, broody Bucky. And in hindsight this may be caused by my incessant watching of Sebastian Stan interviews.

So when I decided to kick my butt in gear and start writing articles more often, I could hear the gears in my brain all simultaneously grind to a painfully loud screeching halt.

Fangirl Freakouts: #HarleyQuinn Movie from @kleffnotes

It was announced this week that Warner Brothers will be working on a Harley Quinn movie with Margot Robbie and that seemed like the perfect topic for a Fangirl Freakouts video. I give you my thoughts and hopes for the future movie, and do some hinting about wanting to be involved. I mean just in case you are listening DC and Warner Brothers. #CaptainAmericaCivilWar Character Appreciation Post: #ScarletWitch from @kleffnotes

I was able to see Captain America: Civil War this weekend and with the amount of reviews already out there I thought I would instead focus on a character that I really enjoyed from the movie. I will say that I loved the movie and thought the plot was even more engaging and complex than I initially expected. The fight sequences were also fantastic, kudos to all those stunt people because seriously they were doing some intense work. Now with that sort of review done I want to focus on how amazing Scarlet Witch was in this movie, but no spoilers. Think of this as a teaser for why you should go see the movie. Have You Gone To The Forest? A DVD Release Review from @kleffnotes

Last night I had a chance to watch The Forest starring Natalie Dormer. I considered seeing this movie in theaters, but decided to wait for the dvd release. I’m kind of picky about which horror movies I see in theaters, I also don’t always get a chance to catch movies at my local theater. The Forest comes out on dvd and blu-ray this Tuesday so I thought I would give it a shot in the comfort of my own home, which was definitely a better plan than seeing it in the theater. Fangirl Freakouts: @BatmanvSuperman Review from @kleffnotes

I finally got to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it dawned on me that you might want to see some sort of review. Yep, that’s a terrible pun, but now everything after it will just seem that much more awesome by comparison. My latest Fangirl Freakouts video is all about the movie and is mostly spoiler free. I mention one spoiler, but there’s warning I promise. Continue reading “Fangirl Freakouts: @BatmanvSuperman Review from @kleffnotes”

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: #SwordofDestiny Review via @quietlikeastorm

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a classic film that revolutionized martial arts action films. It was also the first ever Mandarin language film to be nominated for an Oscar. That is some big shoes to fill when the sequel, Sword of Destiny, was finally released on Netflix this past February. Was it able to match up? (Some spoilers)
