I’ve been live tweeting Daredevil for a few weeks with one of the other writers of The Nerdy Girl Express, Erica, and Jonathan White, who we interviewed a while back during our iZombie themed interview series. We have been watching episodes sporadically, mostly because my work schedule has a tendency to throw a wrench in things. Back a long time ago, when I was a kid and sitcoms were my world one of my favorites was Full House. It starred comedian Bob Saget as straight laced Danny Tanner, a widower with three young daughters. He needs help so he calls on his funny best friend and his wild brother in-law Jesse to move in. When I say Netflix prison drama you probably think I’m talking about Orange is the New Black, right? Well while I do love the ladies of Litchfield, we are going down under to the even more intense women’s prison, Wentworth. The series is a modern re-imagining of Prisoner, a prison based soap opera style drama that aired in the 1970’s and 80’s. Wentworth in just its first two seasons takes you on a roller-coaster of craziness with a diverse cast of characters and remarkably well written plot lines. This recap will just look at the first two seasons to showcase just why you should be watching this show. Continue reading “Wentworth Season One and Two Recap”
Yes, the title is a bit of a pun, but don’t let that dissuade you. The Netflix original series Sense8 has been on Netflix for a while, but I just got a chance to watch it. I hadn’t expected to finish it this week, but the series sucked me in and I sacrificed sleep because I needed to know what would happen next. If you haven’t started watching this show here’s my spoiler free insistence that you should. Continue reading “So Many Feels in Sense8”
