Two Sentence Horror Stories Digital Series Release and Review from @kleffnotes

She stared delighted by what she saw on the glowing screen before her. With a smile she whispered, “What wonderful horrors await them.”

I thought that the best way to begin my review of the brand new digital series from Stage 13, Two Sentence Horror Stories, was to present you with one of my own. This horrifyingly fantastic series debuted on Tuesday, October 3rd, and will have a brand new episode releasing every Tuesday in October. I had the pleasure of being able to check out the full series and I can promise you horror fans that this is something you do not want to miss. Inspired by the viral craze of two sentence horror stories, Vera Miao has created a collection of five episodes that will keep you enthralled from start to finish. Each episode will release on, a part of Verizon’s global media portfolio. Two Sentence Horror Stories has already received critical acclaim at a variety of major film festivals including Outfest, LA Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival.

Within all five episodes the fright continues to build and even the most avid horror fans won’t be able to guess what will happen next. The five episode titles are Ma, Snap, Guilt Trip, Singularity, and Second Skin. Ma, directed by Miao herself, introduces a young woman named Mona who starts falling for her neighbor Erica. Mona’s mother though has other plans for her daughter’s life. Not only does this episode highlight women of color, but it focuses on a female/female relationship and Miao presents a story that ends with such a shock that you won’t even know how to react.

My favorite episode of the five, which won’t be released until October 24th, is Singularity. Nala, a transwoman and biohacker, decides to directly connect with the internet by implanting a small satellite device into her own body. This decision has startling repercussions that blend the technological and supernatural worlds in a frighteningly beautiful way. Jen Richards, who plays Nala, does an exceptional job and I was so happy to see such a vocal trans rights activist and transwoman portraying a trans character. This is so rare to see in any form of media and Nala is exceptionally well done in this story.

You can find Two Sentence Horror Stories on and you can check out the trailer for the series on YouTube. Horror fans you do not want to miss out on this exquisitely terrifying and superbly crafted series.
