As you read through the book you are able to choose some of the decisions Taryn makes which presents you with a variety of different plots and relationships. She is exploring who she is and allowing herself to do things that she has never done before. Though the book does focus on sex there are also moments of triumph for Taryn that involve her finding out what she wants to do with her life. Her boss is also a delightful character, who has some hilarious moments in the store.

I will reveal to you dear readers that I have occasionally dipped my toe into the realm of erotica and this book does not pull any punches. Night Shift is very definitely for mature readers only, but with that in mind those who are looking for a sexy read will really enjoy this book. As a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style story Angel has crafted a number of strong plots that include some steamy scenes, but also show Taryn’s growing confidence as a person. Beyond that this book is exceptionally sex positive and does not judge any behaviors and there are even sections that very naturally discuss sexually related topics. Joanna Angel should be applauded for her ability to create such a strong work that also manages to be the perfect fun and sexy read.
