Today, October 11th, is National Coming Out Day. This is a day that celebrates that special, though not always easy, moment of coming out to those you love and sharing your identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Some of the best moments of representation within popular media include the moment a character comes out to their family and friends and to celebrate today I wanted to highlight some of those moments as well as share some of my personal experiences, as well as the experience of a friend who helped me finally decide to open up to my own family. #NYCC Announcement: @ALTERNACOMICS Creates Commercials with Local Comic Shops

Alterna Comics has partnered with two local comic shops in the New England area to create commercials that will be aired locally in the shops’ respective regions.  Stairway to Heaven Comics in Newington, NH and Friendly Neighborhood Comics! in Bellingham, MA are both big supporters of Alterna’s initiative to bring back lower-priced newsprint comics to comic shops and newsstands.
