Initially the story focuses on a young boy named Tobe who is growing up within the Southern Baptist Church. Over the course of his life he meets a number of young women whom he falls for, one of whom is named Anne and receives her own development outside of Tobe’s story. This is the first in a planned three book series that focuses on two brothers from Hoboken, New Jersey who decide to make the trip to South America to find their fortune in the rubber trade. The Peithosian Gift focuses on the Kanes and the Morgans, who are two similar clans who have decided to use their gifts in completely different ways. While the Kanes believe in keeping their gifts to themselves, the Morgans believe that they should use the power that they have. For centuries the Kanes have sought out and destroyed the Morgans, but in the present they have finally come to a sort of agreement, which they may not be able to keep. The Absolved Book Review from @kleffnotes
