It’s a new year. Which means new intrigue in Port Charles. Many new characters were introduced to the soap opera’s canvas in 2016 and became a part of some interesting plots. There were also changing developments for some current characters. Here are the 5 General Hospital stories I’m excited for in 2017.
The road to love, marriage and family for General Hospital ‘s Samantha McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) has been almost as bumpy as dealing with Sonny’s business “associates.”
Happy Birthday Dee Wallace! Ironically, TNT network gave us the present by re-airing today her appearance on Supernatural in the Season 11 episode “Into The Mystic.”

They’ve survived unspeakable odds and even death (and memory loss) couldn’t do them part. On Tuesday, September 6, Samantha McCall (Kelly Monoco) and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) become man and wife…again.
One of the great things about General Hospital is that it doesn’t appear to be showing signs of aging. As the oldest soap opera currently on the air, General Hospital is rich in history and has an ensemble of very talented actors, which help to keep things fresh.
The Maxi/Nathan/Claudette (Kirsten Storms, Ryan Paevey, Bree Williamson) triangle has heated up by adding another person in the mix- Dr. Griffin Munro (Matthew Cohen).
Matthew Cohen is one of those actors who draws you in with his performance. He has a realism and a sensitivity to his acting that is rare. Any actor who can turn the most simple line into a thought provoking scene is an actor to watch. Whether he’s playing the younger version of Winchester patriarch John or the previously unknown son of a beloved soap opera character, Matthew Cohen meets the challenge.
