Lies You Never Told Me Book Review from @kleffnotes

High school can be full of changes and uncertainty, but for Gabe and Elyse there is so much more than just your standard drama in store. In Lies You Never Told Me readers experience the lives of these two teenagers told in two different perspectives. You will find yourself sucked into the stories unfolding before you in these perfectly interlocking stories.

Lies You Never Told Me will hook you from the minute that you start reading and you won’t want to put it down until the very last page. This review will be spoiler free and making sure not to accidentally spoil Gabe and Elyse’s stories is honestly one of the more difficult things I have attempted to do in a book review. The book starts by introducing Gabe, who happens to be with his girlfriend Sasha while her parents are out of town. He is shocked to learn that her disapproving parents know that he is there and while Sasha insists he stay, he doesn’t want to upset her parents even further and begins to skateboard home. Suddenly he is hit by a car and finds himself being saved by a young woman, but he doesn’t know who she is. This accident spurs Gabe to reconsider his relationship with Sasha and leads him to connect with someone new, but this decision is anything, but easy.

When we meet Elyse she is preparing for play auditions with her best friend Brynn and while she expects to be cast as a small role she is shocked when she is given a lead. As she adjusts to this new achievement she is also coping with a tumultuous home life with her mother. Elyse is trying to balance everything and finds herself sharing her concerns with the teacher directing the play. As the play gets closer her relationships begin to shift and she feels herself wanting something that she never thought she could have. Jennifer Donaldson does a spectacular job of weaving a story that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. As both of the stories unfold connections are drawn between the two characters and what is happening in each of their lives. You will be on the edge of your seat and completely entranced by all of the drama unfolding within Lies You Never Told Me. You can find it available for pre-order now!
