Fangirl Freakouts: @BatmanvSuperman Review from @kleffnotes

I finally got to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it dawned on me that you might want to see some sort of review. Yep, that’s a terrible pun, but now everything after it will just seem that much more awesome by comparison. My latest Fangirl Freakouts video is all about the movie and is mostly spoiler free. I mention one spoiler, but there’s warning I promise. Continue reading “Fangirl Freakouts: @BatmanvSuperman Review from @kleffnotes”

This movie is from 2007, yet I had never seen it until a couple of days ago. Once again I was on Hulu, I came across An American Crime and decided to watch it. There are a few movies that have made my skin crawl, but this one…This one takes the cake!

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: #SwordofDestiny Review via @quietlikeastorm

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a classic film that revolutionized martial arts action films. It was also the first ever Mandarin language film to be nominated for an Oscar. That is some big shoes to fill when the sequel, Sword of Destiny, was finally released on Netflix this past February. Was it able to match up? (Some spoilers)

Live Tweet Movie Fun: The Covenant from @kleffnotes

Sometimes you just want to watch a movie and hangout with some friends, well if these friends aren’t close enough to actually swing by your house you can still watch together through the magic of Twitter. With the two of us getting devilish on Monday nights, first with Lucifer at 9 pm est on Fox and then Damien on A&E at 10 pm est, I thought that this was the perfect time to watch The Omen. Erica is our resident authority on the Antichrist, and I thought that I should get on her level and actually watch the movie that spawned our new Monday show. Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair: A Review of @macbeth_movie from @kleffnotes

Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender in the title role, comes out on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, March 8th, and I was able to give it an early watch. I was excited to see this movie for two reasons: one, Macbeth is my favorite Shakespeare play and two, Michael Fassbender. Catching Up on Oscar Winning Movies: A Review of @RoomTheMovie from @kleffnotes

You would think that a woman who works at a video store would be caught up on the things that get nominated for Academy Awards, right? Well, that is definitely not the case. Actually it’s never the case. I don’t live in a big city, which often means our one movie theater gets passed over for productions that are considered more independent or artsy. We get the big blockbusters yes, but a number of movies that were nominated we either didn’t get at all or only got for a week during the last year. We didn’t get Room at all, but it showed up at the video store right after the Oscars and I jumped on the chance to watch it. So, here’s my belated review of the movie that Brie Larson won her Oscar for Best Actress for. Continue reading “Catching Up on Oscar Winning Movies: A Review of @RoomTheMovie from @kleffnotes”
