Unsolicited Project, a YouTube comedy channel for women and by women, debuted their first feature film Almost Adults. It stars Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis, who many people of the internet will recognize from the webseries Carmilla. In this week’s Fangirl Freakouts I gush about how much I loved this movie, with only a few minor word flubs. Over the course of the past few weeks I have been working my way through the movies from within The Conjuring series. This all started when my friend offered to loan me her copy of The Conjuring. After talking about it on Twitter I made a friendly wager with a friend, I’d watch the spin off movie Annabelle if he watched more of the tv series Supernatural. The following weekend I watched the official sequel in the series, The Conjuring 2. With a bit of a nudge from a horror movie watching friend I thought I would share my thoughts about the sort of trilogy. Yoga Hosers is the sort of sequel to Kevin Smith’s frighteningly weird movie Tusk. It takes place in the same universe, but instead of focusing on what became of the Walrus of Winnipeg, it instead examines the lives of The Colleens. These two teenage girls work at the Eh 2 Zed, a convenience store, that a number of characters visited in Tusk. Even though they were briefly sort of local celebrities for helping save the Manatee of Manitoba, same thing as the Walrus of Winnipeg, Colleen and Colleen are still stuck working crappy shifts at the store. I have to admit to something before this review gets started. I’m not a Doctor Strange fan. For all my love of fantasy and magic, I have never been into his character in the comics. So going into this movie, I felt like a blank slate. I know only the basics of his story, powers, and where this may be leading in the Marvel movies. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy it, but no movie is perfect. Read on for my thoughts, concerns and all the spoilers.

To celebrate the beginning of October I took to Netflix in the search of a scary movie. I’ve been adding movie after movie to my queue and now was the time to start watching. Holidays is an anthology style film, with mini movies devoted to a variety of holidays, hence the title. Once I started this movie I was not let down by the horrific holiday horrors. Continue reading “It’s October so Let’s Celebrate the Holidays: A Movie Review from @kleffnotes”
The Chair is a terrifyingly twisted horror film based on an equally horrifying Alterna Comic of the same title. There has been a lot of hype for Suicide Squad, honestly I think I saw trailers for it before I even saw a trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I have discussed my love of Batman characters before, I love Harley and The Joker, while insanely evil, is one of my favorite villains, and I was anxiously awaiting this movie for months.
