Let’s Share a Ghost Story with the Girls of Kappa House

Last night’s episode of Scream Queens was titled Ghost Stories. It should come as no surprise that ghosts and scary stories were the focus of this episode. Maybe don’t read this if you want to use the bathroom without being freaked out ever again. Though, who doesn’t like being scared, go ahead, keep reading, but definitely keep the lights on for this recap. Continue reading “Let’s Share a Ghost Story with the Girls of Kappa House”

Have You Heard About Night Vale?

One of my favorite things to listen to is the podcast, Welcome to Night Vale. If you haven’t heard of it you are definitely missing out on something great. Not only is it a podcast, but they do live shows and have just recently published a book. With the weather getting colder now seems like a great time to bundle up and listen to this great series. Have You Met The Man From Uncle?

Tuesday, November 17th, Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. will be out on dvd and blu-ray. This reboot of the original television series of the same name shows us Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer teamed up as part of a CIA/KGB operation to stop a nuclear bomb from being created. These men are also expected to bring back the plans for their respective agencies. Now that sort of plot sounds like something you’d expect in a Soviet Era spy movie, but there is so much more going on that makes this exciting and new.

A Belated Trip to Camp Crystal Lake

Yesterday was Friday the 13th and I had planned to watch and write about the original Friday the 13th movie, but things got a bit crazy and I wound up not being able to rewatch the movie until after midnight. Even though I missed out on watching the movie on the right date I still really wanted to write about it. Want to know what I think is the most dangerous part of Camp Crystal Lake? Continue reading “A Belated Trip to Camp Crystal Lake”

All About Moms at Kappa House

Screams Queens presented an homage to Psycho last night in the episode Mommie Dearest. I had heard this episode hinted at in early interviews with Jamie Lee Curtis about the series. Her mother, Janet Leigh, is best known for her role as Marion Crane in the movie Psycho. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the movie, Marion is the character who dies in the shower. Tonight Jamie Lee was shown reenacting that scene in all of the promos leading up to this episode. Besides that, here’s everything else that happened in the episode.

Master of None is Masterfully Done

Sunday night I was perusing Netflix and after the typical “I don’t know what I want to watch ten minute scroll” I noticed Aziz Ansari’s adorable face. I thought I’d check out the first episode or two of his new comedy series, Master of None, and then get to bed. Well, one or two episodes wound up turning into a late night full season binge and I regret absolutely nothing about my decision. Continue reading “Master of None is Masterfully Done”

Part of Your World, Your Real Live Action World

Yesterday Twitter, the social media I’m on the most, blew up with news about a live action version of The Little Mermaid. As The Nerdy Girl Express’ resident mermaid, I do a mean hair flip and I sometimes sing, it became my duty to find out the facts. If you are a Disney fan you should check out what I found out. They’re Here…Finally

This was just a week for movie watching at my house. It’s really easy to do when you work at a video store and have a hard time falling asleep before 4 am, which is only good when you are working night shifts. Not the best plan when you have to function like a normal human being for an opener shift. This week I rented a bunch of random movies, mostly horror, and tried to watch one a night. Our copy of the original Poltergeist finally came in and I jumped on it. I’d never seen the movie and boy was I in for a surprise. Continue reading “They’re Here…Finally”

You’re Such a Doll, Such a Creepy, Creepy Doll

I recently watched Child’s Play for the first time and was surprised by how creepy the original Chucky was. I’ve seen Seed of Chucky and one of the sequels, honestly not sure which one, and while having a doll come to life and murder people is a bit terrifying, I was super freaked out by the original version of Chucky.
