Fire and Vengeance Book Review from @kleffnotes

The second book in the Koa Kane Hawaiian Mystery series will be out in July and I have a special early review for you. What I love about this series is the darkness that lurks in the beauty of Hawaii, which is a great dissonance. In this second book our lead character faces a mystery that involves a place that should be safe, a local school. Continue reading “Fire and Vengeance Book Review from @kleffnotes”

SEAL TEAM is a military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them. Jason Hayes is the respected, intense leader of the Tier One team whose home life has suffered as a result of his extensive warrior’s existence. His team includes his trusted confidant, Ray Perry, the longest-tenured operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained shorthand; Sonny Quinn, an exceptional, loyal soldier with a checkered past who still combats self-destructive tendencies; and Clay Spenser, a young, multilingual, second-generation SEAL with insatiable drive and dedication. Vital to the team’s success are troop commander Lt. Cdr. Eric Blackburn, who serves as a leader and confidant both on and off the battlefield; CIA analyst Mandy Ellis, who has sacrificed everything in her drive to root out evil and take down terrorists; and Lisa Davis, a no-nonsense, take-charge logistics officer and unofficial den mother responsible for outfitting the team with the necessary gear for each mission. Deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice, and knowing the toll it takes on them and their families, this tight-knit SEAL team displays unwavering patriotism and fearless dedication even in the face of overwhelming odds (CBS Press Express).

The Bi Line: Gay Star Wars! from @kleffnotes

I may not be the biggest Star Wars fan, but my wife Krista definitely has a minor obsession. She loved Star Wars far before I met her and her love of the Millennium Falcon is unrivaled, I even think she might love it more than Han Solo himself. We had planned to do a big to do for May the Fourth, but with the weirdness of the world right now and some personal issues, primarily concerning my health, that didn’t really happen. I though had jokingly mentioned doing an article where we tried to make the Star Wars universe a little bit more gay, or queer, depending on how you use those two terms. What resulted was a list of some characters we thought worked perfectly. Read on for our own little thought project on Star Wars and how there might just be a little more queer rep than meets the eye. Continue reading “The Bi Line: Gay Star Wars! from @kleffnotes”

Until Summer Comes Around Book Review from @kleffnotes

Set in the summer of 1986, Until Summer Comes Around is a frightening tale of when summer romance takes a dark turn. Glenn Rolfe crafts a story that takes the traditional summer fling and adds in the undead and a terrible secret, pulling the story away from the typical romance genre.
