@StarsEndComic @InsaneComics Review ( @realsmashcomix @thedarkmother ) from @kleffnotes

What if an alien people, the annunaki, had taken animals with them when they left our planet 6,000 years ago? After a great deal of experimentation and manufactured evolution roughly 500 years from now these new blended animal beings, the n’naki, are the highest members of society. They have created a galactic parliament and under their rule humans have become the working class, with little to no rights in this new society. In the first issue of Star’s End we are introduced to a pod of n’naki, which means a team of these beings raised together and trained to act as a team to help support their parliament, who have been sent on a mission that takes a very dangerous turn. Faith Fallon #1-#5 @InsaneComics Review from @kleffnotes

Steven Pennella’s Faith Fallon series published by Insane Comics will ultimately be a 12 issue run and I had the chance to check out the first five issues of the series. This visually captivating comic is focused on Faith Fallon. She was once America’s sweetheart in the 1950’s and as her career began to fail and spiral downward she was found dead in her bedroom. The first four issues of the series examine Faith’s past, but the fifth issue is focused on her death and the moment that will change her path forever. Hollow Girl: Identity @InsaneComics Review ( @lmjcooper ) from @kleffnotes

The victims of terrible crimes find their vengeance through a murderous vigilante in Luke Cooper’s Hollow Girl: Identity. Published by Insane Comics this collected digital volume presents for the first time in one place the four original issues of the series as well as three never before published short stories in chronological order. I had previously seen Cooper’s work in Wolf Country, he is the artist for that series, and I was excited to learn he had written and drawn his own series. Hollow Girl is a dramatic and deadly read that kept me guessing. Continue reading “Hollow Girl: Identity @InsaneComics Review ( @lmjcooper ) from @kleffnotes”

A strange series of events leads Dennis to come face to face with himself in the Doppelganger series. Lilith Dark #1 Newsprint @ALTERNACOMICS Review from @kleffnotes

Lilith Dark is part of Alterna Comics first newsprint run and as a special treat this storyline is something brand new that has never been released by Alterna before. In this series the young and very imaginative Lilith sees herself as a brave hero fighting against dangerous monsters. In this issue we see her battling dangerous cannonbulls, who aren’t exactly what they appear. Continue reading “Lilith Dark #1 Newsprint @ALTERNACOMICS Review from @kleffnotes”

Geek-Girl #3 Review and Series Updates ( @daSamJohnson ) from @kleffnotes

Geek-Girl isn’t your typical superhero. After finding a way to win a pair of powerful glasses, these techy specs give the wearer super strength and the ability to fly, in a game of strip poker, Ruby Kaye finds herself fighting crime. I had previously talked about this series when issue #4 was released and even though I’m jumping backwards a bit I have a review of issue #3 and some new Geek-Girl news for readers hoping to check out the series. Continue reading “Geek-Girl #3 Review and Series Updates ( @daSamJohnson ) from @kleffnotes”

Wolf Country #7 @Planetjimbot Comics Review ( @JimPlanetjimbot @CampbellLetters ) from @kleffnotes

The Wolf Country comics series focuses on an isolated religious settlement, which every full moon faces dangerous werewolf attacks. These settlers though are not as they appear, but instead are vampires who have left industrial society. I previously had the opportunity to review the first six issues of Wolf Country and reviewed all of them together. In Wolf Country #7 the story picks up exactly where it left off with Halfpenny fighting for his life against a werewolf, which could have a far greater impact on the lives of vampires and werewolves than either being could expect. Jughead The Hunger Review from @kleffnotes

The Archie Horror Universe is one I really wanted to investigate once I started watching the series Riverdale. While I know the original Archie comics are a huge deal and a number of people cite them as their introduction to comics I kept hearing about the newer horror focused stories and felt possessed to find them. I decided to dip into the pool with a one shot that drew my eye. Continue reading “Jughead The Hunger Review from @kleffnotes”
