Geek-Girl Crime War TPB Review from @kleffnotes

The Geek-Girl comics series is one I have covered on The Nerdy Girl Express a number of times and everyone’s favorite glasses wearing female superhero is back with a collected volume of the first four issues of the current storyline in Geek-Girl Crime War. This story includes a new character carrying the mantel of our title hero as well as a growing number of villains coming on the scene while Ruby tries to figure out what she wants to do with her life now. The Bi Line: Flame Con Comics Wrap-Up #2 from @kleffnotes

This week’s Flame Con comic wrap-up includes a number of short or mini comics that again are from a variety of genres. Each of these books is a bit smaller than a standard comic and one is even pocket sized so you could carry it around with you and read it whenever you want. While I might not have links for everything keep an eye out for all of these comics online as many of these creators have other work or are part of other projects. Sons of Chaos Comic Review from @kleffnotes

The lavishly illustrated over-sized graphic novel, Sons of Chaos, provides a powerful experience for readers taking them back to the shores of the Mediterranean in 1821 when a bloody revolution pushed to remove the Ottoman rulers out of power. Written by Chris Jaymes and illustrated by Ale Aragon focuses on the real life story of the Greek War of Independence. Science! @BedsidePress Comic Review from @kleffnotes

Bedside Press has recently been picked up for distribution through Diamond Book Distributors and to showcase this new partnership I will be reviewing two of their upcoming books. The first of these is Science!, which won’t be out until next year, but is something that science fiction fans will love. Not just that, but the main character is totally crushing on her roommate, who happens to be a girl. Dorian Gray Graphic Novel Review from @kleffnotes

The story of Dorian Gray is a classic that has been reworked and rewritten in a variety of mediums, but this adaptation does more than any other version I have experienced. This graphic novel by Darren G. Davis and Scott Davis takes the Victorian Lothario and brings his story into the modern age. The Bi Line: This Comic Has Everything! from @kleffnotes

During Pride Month I went on a hunt to find books and movies that would help me to grow my understanding of different people within the LGBTQ+ community. Now I will admit I was trying to save a bit of money so I stuck to streaming services and library related apps. In my quest for knowledge I watched all of the series Gaycation, the documentary Growing Up Coy, and a few other assorted shows and movies that were recommended in various Pride watch lists. While I was watching I also did a bit of a deep dive into comics and books on the Hoopla app, this app shares digital books you can read through an account connected to your library card and many libraries use this program. During this hunt I found Gender Queer, a touching memoir that I mentioned on Twitter immediately after I finished it, and I also found the comic I want to focus on today, Ask Me About Polyamory. Geek-Girl #5 Preview and Kickstarter News from @kleffnotes

Geek-Girl is back with a brand new Kickstarter. Running through the month of June you can support the new collected trade paperback of issues 1-4 of the Crime War arc as well a new edition in the ongoing series following Ruby and the mantle of Geek-Girl. When a pair of power-inducing glasses become Ruby’s she finds herself with the ability to join the ranks of Maine’s superheros. After a fight with the electric villain, Lightning Storm, Ruby was out of the fight and even though her best friend attempted to take over the role villains were able to rise.
