Did You Know It Is Dracula Day? from @kleffnotes

I will be the first to admit that I had no idea today was Dracula Day until I saw it mentioned on Instagram. Apparently this is an English event primarily that ties into celebrations in Whitby. I am going to use today as a means to celebrate some of my favorite versions of Dracula in media. I will immediately say yes original novel Dracula is great and he is well beloved, but I am going to discuss interpretations outside of the original novel.

Women’s Book of Courage originally released in 2003 and is re-releasing with a slightly new format this year. Well Now I Need to Research Even More Dog Things from @kleffnotes

Today I reveal that the road trip I mentioned on Friday has already happened. This past weekend Krista and I drove, she literally did all of the driving so I was just along for the ride, to Pennsylvania. Now we had sort of vaguely planned this trip before. Krista went to law school in Carlisle and she wanted to show me the sights, but as it turned out this trip involved something a little extra.

Going on a Road Trip, Any Suggestions? from @kleffnotes

Krista and I are planning a road trip for the not to distant future and I thought I would share some of the things we always pack on long drives. I also wanted to give folks a chance to share things that they think are a must have for a trip. You can think for either a road trip or any sort of multi-hour trip so if you have thoughts share away in the comments.

Rescue Dogs, Yes Please! from @kleffnotes

Today is National Rescue Dog Day and I wanted to celebrate some of my favorite rescue pups. I grew up not really having pets, we randomly got fish when I was in high school and then as I was headed off to grad school my folks adopted a dog. I spent some time with him before the move and then when I later moved home he and I would hang out. Now that I am moved and married I have my own animal family members, most of which are rescues and deserve some praise.

Cruel Summer Thoughts So Far from @kleffnotes

When I was going through shows in my article yesterday I actually forgot a show that Krista and I had been watching. We took a little bit to get into this show, primarily because Krista prefers to watch anything that might include murder or elements of true crime when it is still light out. Unlike me she actually has dreams and if we watch something a bit eerie before bed she winds up having truly frightening dreams. Once we started Cruel Summer she though was hooked and asked me periodically if we have a new episode to catch up on.

It is the end of an era folks, To L and Back the podcast focused on recapping all of The L Word has finally made it to the final episode of the original series. Mozay of Pepperwick Book Review from @kleffnotes

Mozay of Pepperwick is a middle grade fiction novel that showcases the topics of slavery, freedom, and the power of persistence. Written by Jean Perry, the first Black female journalist at the New York Daily News, who then transitioned into elementary education within the Los Angeles Unified School District where she worked for twenty five year. Inspired by a family story of how her grandfather learned to read this book presents history for younger readers.

Girls5eva Show Review from @kleffnotes

I know there are about 4 billion streaming services on the planet now, but Peacock is one that I finally broke down and added to my existing streaming subscriptions. I had admittedly put it off for a bit because I am so behind on so many shows already, but Krista found a show and it was the only way to watch it. One of her favorite performers, both in singing and acting roles, is Sara Bareilles. We watched Little Voice because she was involved with the show and she is the reason I know the Waitress soundtrack and have seen it performed. When a friend mentioned Girls5eva we immediately had to find it.
