Deathgasm: The Band, The Movie, The Demon Summoners

I found an interesting little horror movie at work this week called Deathgasm and I mean with a title like that I couldn’t not watch it. I scooped it up and watched it super late in the night. The movie was made and set in New Zealand, and made me really want to rewatch What We Do in the Shadows, but this is an entirely different review. The Intern Review

The Intern, starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, comes out on blu-ray and dvd on Tuesday and I thought I’d give it a quick review for you guys. The preview I saw for it looked funny, but when it was in theaters the one near me didn’t have it for very long and I missed out on being able to see it until much later. If you want something heartwarming and cute to watch then definitely check out the rest of this review. Continue reading “The Intern Review”

The Martian Review: Since it Won Best Comedy

Okay, so I would have written this review even if The Martian hadn’t won anything at the Golden Globes, but it made for a more interesting title. I wasn’t able to watch The Martian in theaters. I don’t even remember a theater near me getting it, but maybe I just missed it. I had a friend who loved the book, he’s a biologist and while not a botanist, he was super excited by the whole farming on Mars aspect, but he had told me the main character was pretty funny so he hoped the movie would be funny. Now that being said the movie does have funny moments, Matt Damon as Mark is pretty good at bringing the humor, but I honestly don’t think this is a comedy. Sci-fi drama, sure, but a straight up comedy, I don’t think so. Continue reading “The Martian Review: Since it Won Best Comedy”

A Trip to Suburbia in my Suburbanite Review

Have you ever watched a movie and not known exactly what to make of it? That happened to me this weekend when I watched the movie Suburbanite. I hadn’t heard of the movie until I saw a preview for it at work, sometimes working at a video store leads to some very unexpected finds. It seemed like an interesting thriller so I grabbed it. Once I started watching it the movie really wasn’t what I expected. I can’t really review it without getting spoilery so let’s get to it. The Abandoned @ruthmreis Review

This article was written by the awesome @ruthmreis, I’m just posting it for her 🙂

The Abandoned, director Ido Fluk, starring Jason Patric and Louisa Krause

The movie takes place in an abandoned building, originally designed to be a luxury apartment dwelling but with the economic bust, it was never finished and remained uninhabited. Not too hard to name this movie with that being the backdrop.  Continue reading “The Abandoned @ruthmreis Review”

The Green Inferno in Review

Eli Roth’s latest movie, The Green Inferno, was on my list of horror movies to watch way back when I heard rumors that it had been investigated for actual cannibalism while it was filming. I have no idea if these rumors are true, but hearing a movie was thought to have actual death in it intrigued me. Okay, maybe I’m super creepy, but that seemed like a ringing endorsement to me. Now normally I steer clear of spoilers, but this time I can’t. Beware, here there be spoilers! Continue reading “The Green Inferno in Review”

Stop Everything and Go Watch Trainwreck

I had the pleasure and surprise to watch the movie Trainwreck a while ago when a friend had rented it from the RedBox. We knew it was an off color, raunchy comedy and that it had funny lady Amy Schumer and wrestler/sometimes actor John Cena in it. Within the first thirty minutes I thought for sure that I would wet my pants from laughing so hard. Keep reading to see my review! Continue reading “Stop Everything and Go Watch Trainwreck”

Reviewing the Work of the#LASlasher

I honestly had never heard of the movie L.A. Slasher until I saw it at work, video stores can be very useful for finding random things you never knew you wanted to see. The movie revolves around social media, mostly Twitter, and on people obsessed with fame. My review has all the details, don’t worry I won’t spoil it for you.
