Band Ladies is a series that you can find on HighballTV that focuses on a group of women who were part of a book club that turned into something completely different. Now yes, that is a little vague, but if you checked out my interview with two of the writers/creators/stars yesterdayyou’d have a better idea of how this comedy takes the idea of getting away from your family for a bit and making it into something completely revitalizing for the spirit. What we see is a journey to self discovery and understanding where these women are able to find themselves again after feeling defined by their roles in life, whether it be mother, girlfriend, or lawyer. The Bi Line: Butch Pals, Avocado Toast, and Life from @kleffnotes

Conventions might not be happening in physical spaces this year, but many are either transition to or being created in online spaces. One such convention that made a bit of a shift was ClexaCon. While the convention itself did not fully take place, they did shift their Film Festival and some related panels to online. I admittedly had hoped to enjoy more of these offerings, but my life was a bit hectic right at the same time that the convention was taking place. The Category Is…Mexico City Review from @kleffnotes

The Category Is recently dropped the first season of this anthology docuseries on Revry. The first season, The Category is…Mexico City, showcases the ballroom culture and vogue scene that exists outside of New York City. This idea was first introduced in the GLAAD-awarded INTO House of Mamis. Revry took this topic and expanded it into a large first season for a larger anthology. The Bi Line: Ringing In the New Year with @BIFLseries from @kleffnotes

Happy New Year’s Eve lovely readers! I am writing this article on my cell phone in Dulles International Airport. Krista and I went to Ohio for Christmas and found our connecting flight home cancelled. Our new flight is slated to go out tonight, but we did wind up unexpectedly spending the night in the DC area. With our schedules we have both been too busy to really watch anything, but we found ourselves with a rare night in with no work the next day and finally binged BIFL on YouTube. I have watched parts of the series before and even reported on it way back when it was just a script, but this binge reignited my love of these fantastic characters. Kappa Force @REVRYTV Review from @kleffnotes

The college experience has been portrayed in hundreds of movies and television shows, but Kappa Force takes the idea of college and gives it a queer and satirical twist. State University seems like the perfect example of an all American campus, but that image is shattered once you learn that The Douche has plans to take down the members of Kappa Force. Yes, the villain’s name is The Douche and he thinks this is a great choice, if that helps you to understand the high levels of campy hilarity that fill this series. The Third Dekkoo Series Review from @kleffnotes

Dekkoo presents a new and provocative series, The Third, that showcases nontraditional families and ways of life. The show focuses on Jason, a twenty-nine year old gay man, who has sort of unexpectedly found himself part of a triad relationship. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this sort of relationship type, the series You, Me, Her has touched on it slightly. An established couple brings in a third person to be part of their relationship in both of these series, though this is not always how a triad is created.
