The Bi Line: Sunstone and Sexy Escapades from @kleffnotes

I love frequenting my local comic book shop, not just because it is great to be in a physical space full of nerdy things, but because the staff are so great. They frequently suggest reads for me when I come in, which is great for fulfilling my quest for comic knowledge even if it isn’t great for my wallet. During one of my visits two of the people there mentioned there was a book they thought I’d like. They showed me the first volume of Sunstone and insisted that while the book was pretty steamy, that the plot was so good that they frequently recommended it to their over 18 readers. This first book set me down a path of discovery and excitement and I fell completely head over heels for the world of Sunstone. Good Kisser Movie Review ( @goodkissermovie )from @kleffnotes

Good Kisser had a sneak peek screening event at ClexaCon this year, but while I couldn’t attend in person I was lucky enough to be able to watch the movie after the convention. Release this month, Good Kisser focuses on Jenna who is struggling with anxiety and a desire to please her partner, Kate. Due to her feelings of insecurity she finds herself agreeing to take part in a three way with Kate and a woman named Mia. Over the course of one night secrets and lies are revealed, passions rise, and Jenna will have to decide what matters most to her. Wireless and More Steam-Powered Adventures Book Review ( @QoSPress )from @kleffnotes

Take to the skies and become part of a variety of mysterious and thrilling events with the sequel to Alex Acks’ Murder on the Titania, Wireless and More Steam-Powered Adventures. This new book returns readers to the world of Captain Marta Ramos and her crew through three connected stories set in Acks’ steampunk style universe. Even though this is a sequel, this book can be read first, but I would strongly recommend that you read the first book before hand since there are some references to previous mysteries that would be a bit spoiled by reading this installment first. The Bi Line: Lip Service from @kleffnotes

Sometimes suggested watching on streaming services can be helpful, especially when they lead you to a series that you’ve never heard of before. Lip Service is a British television drama set in Glasgow, Scotland which was literally described by Hulu as like The L Word. When I first started the show I was struck with a tremendous amount of deja vu, not because of the plot, but because of the styling of the main character, Frankie. Interview with Lauren Flans and Nicole Pacent from Coming Out Pod ( @ComingOutPod ) from @kleffnotes

Every week Lauren Flans and Nicole Pacent share a coming out story with a special guest because who doesn’t love a coming out story. Each story is so unique and provides deeper insight into the diversity of people who make up the LGBTQ+ community. Lauren and Nicole provide the perfect place to have fun while also discussing deep topics. I had the chance to ask them a few questions about the podcast as well as their upcoming live show at ClexaCon this year. While the interview is with both Lauren and Nicole as this was done over email, Lauren was the primary writer. The Bi Line: What I’m Looking Forward To at @ClexaCon Feature from @kleffnotes

This is my third year going to ClexaCon and the second time that I will be going as press. Last year was the first time my girlfriend, Krista, and I went to ClexaCon together. We met there in 2017, but since we were going as a couple last year we did a lot of intense scheduling and tried to do as much as we could. While some people can survive that I wound up burning myself out trying to do everything I thought I needed to do as press and Krista and I had tried to cram in a lot. This year, while I will still be doing coverage, we’ve decided to tone things down a bit so that we don’t wind up with post con burnout like last year. In the United States, the Day of Silence is the GLSEN’s annual day of action to spread awareness about the effects of the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students. Savor the Moment @ClexaCon Special Guest Feature Book Review from @kleffnotes

Dana Piccoli is well known throughout the queer women community and is a powerful voice within the movement for better LGBTQ+ representation in the media. She is a talented moderator and is a fixture at ClexaCon, having been a moderator there since the convention’s first year and as well as being the voice of their official podcast, UnCONventional.  While not ClexaConning, she is the Managing Editor of Bella Media Channel, but that’s not all. She is now part of the Bella Books author community with her debut book, Savor the Moment. With ClexaCon just next week I sat down and binge read, yes that is totally a thing, so that I could share my thoughts on this sweet and sexy lesbian romance. Fangirl Freakouts: Queering ( @QueeringWeb ) @ClexaCon Feature from @kleffnotes

Harper is moving on after a toxic nine year relationship, but is shocked when her mom reveals she has come out publicly as bisexual. Queering is an emotional work that examines biphobia as well as the struggles of coming out. This series spoke to me in such a powerful way and I am excited to know it is part of the ClexaCon film festival this year.
