The Bi Line: Lawyers and Love Interests from @kleffnotes

In the past few weeks Krista and I have been watching a lot of shows and movies that have included lawyers, primarily District Attorneys and prosecutors. During this binge one of the shows we wound up watching was a two season show with a total of 20 episodes called For the People. This was my favorite of the shows we chose to watch and it surprised me in season one with a character being presented as queer. The Bi Line: Ending Pride with Some Recommendations from @kleffnotes

Pride is coming to an end technically, though really shouldn’t we just be celebrating our identities every month? As someone who has never lived near a place that does a Pride event, the closest was about an hour and a half away and I was only ever able to go one time since I don’t drive, strangely quarantine allowed me to actually participate in one for the first time in ages. Lez Hang Out, one of the podcasts I try to actively listen to every week, hosted the live stream with guests from across the country. While I was not tuned in for the entire stream, what I did see was a delight and I hope that even if we aren’t in quarantine next Pride month that they host this even again. The Bi Line: Let Me Be Your Batwoman from @kleffnotes

Yes, you read that correctly, I want to be your Batwoman. As many people already know Ruby Rose has left Batwoman and it appeared  as though the plan was to replace Kate Kane/Batwoman. It has been noted that for this casting they do plan to cast someone from within the LGBTQ+ community. While recasting can be an issue for shows, I know I have personally been thrown by recastings, though they were all for shows in reruns. Childhood Katherine was very displeased when Bewitched on Nick at Nite replaced Darren, but that is a story for another day. After initially writing this article, these go up bi-weekly because I couldn’t resist tying the schedule to the title of the article series, it has been announced that Batwoman will no longer be Kate Kane, but more on that later.

Band Ladies Series Review from @kleffnotes

Band Ladies is a series that you can find on HighballTV that focuses on a group of women who were part of a book club that turned into something completely different. Now yes, that is a little vague, but if you checked out my interview with two of the writers/creators/stars yesterdayyou’d have a better idea of how this comedy takes the idea of getting away from your family for a bit and making it into something completely revitalizing for the spirit. What we see is a journey to self discovery and understanding where these women are able to find themselves again after feeling defined by their roles in life, whether it be mother, girlfriend, or lawyer. The Bi Line: Butch Pals, Avocado Toast, and Life from @kleffnotes

Conventions might not be happening in physical spaces this year, but many are either transition to or being created in online spaces. One such convention that made a bit of a shift was ClexaCon. While the convention itself did not fully take place, they did shift their Film Festival and some related panels to online. I admittedly had hoped to enjoy more of these offerings, but my life was a bit hectic right at the same time that the convention was taking place.
