Catching Up on Oscar Winning Movies: A Review of @RoomTheMovie from @kleffnotes

You would think that a woman who works at a video store would be caught up on the things that get nominated for Academy Awards, right? Well, that is definitely not the case. Actually it’s never the case. I don’t live in a big city, which often means our one movie theater gets passed over for productions that are considered more independent or artsy. We get the big blockbusters yes, but a number of movies that were nominated we either didn’t get at all or only got for a week during the last year. We didn’t get Room at all, but it showed up at the video store right after the Oscars and I jumped on the chance to watch it. So, here’s my belated review of the movie that Brie Larson won her Oscar for Best Actress for. Continue reading “Catching Up on Oscar Winning Movies: A Review of @RoomTheMovie from @kleffnotes”

Do They Have a Frequent Viewer Card for @deadpoolmovie I Can Get? from @kleffnotes

Yes, I have now seen the Deadpool movie three times and every time I have gone I have had an amazing time. Now you might be thinking, Katherine isn’t going to see a movie three times in theaters a bit extreme? And to that I say heck no! I could use some slightly more colorful language, but I’m not going to do an R rated article, at least not today. Now this is all about why seeing Deadpool in theaters more than once has been more than worth it and why I would totally go again. Black Mass Actor Reactions from @kleffnotes

Black Mass comes out on dvd and blu-ray this Tuesday and I had planned to do a review of the movie for today, but just couldn’t figure out how to write it. I tried, but every attempt just didn’t make sense. The movie is based on the true life events surrounding Whitey Bulger, who is considered the most infamous criminal in the history of South Boston. I thought that instead of trying to recap the movie I would instead talk about the reactions I had to a number of actors within the movie, some of whom I had no clue were even in it. Adam Driver #StarWars SNL Skit

This past Saturday, Adam Driver, a lead in the biggest Star Wars film to date hosted Saturday Night Live. There were many funny skits, but the best was the one he did acting as an undercover boss (like the show with the same name) as his character in the Star Wars universe. Spoiler alerts in the video for anyone who has somehow not yet seen the film. Continue reading “Adam Driver #StarWars SNL Skit”

Deathgasm: The Band, The Movie, The Demon Summoners

I found an interesting little horror movie at work this week called Deathgasm and I mean with a title like that I couldn’t not watch it. I scooped it up and watched it super late in the night. The movie was made and set in New Zealand, and made me really want to rewatch What We Do in the Shadows, but this is an entirely different review.
