The Bi Line: ImBIbing in Something New from @kleffnotes

With 2019 starting today I wanted to try and do something new for The Nerdy Girl Express. I have been debating about doing an article series that would focus on LGBTQ+ topics, but hadn’t really had the time to sit down and focus on how to start it. Today seemed like the perfect day. Now in case you didn’t know my name is Katherine and I am an out bi woman. I typically just say bi instead of bisexual, just my personal preference, and I sometimes think up terrible puns involving the word bi. Ages ago I started thinking about the word byline, which is the part of an article that names a writer. Well as someone who is bi it seemed that it could be perfectly altered to use for my own needs. New Year’s Eve Ideas from @kleffnotes

2018 is drawing to a close and if you are spending your evening by yourself or with others I thought I’d share some suggestions for how to celebrate the day in some capacity. No matter what your day looks like with the year ending there are a number of ways you can ring in a new year, even if you aren’t actually up or free at midnight. @ClexaCon London Small Panel YouTube Additions from @kleffnotes

After releasing some of their larger panels, ClexaCon posted a number of videos of their smaller panels from ClexaCon London. I took a bit of time to check out the new additions and wanted to share a bit about them with those who either couldn’t attend the convention or might have missed out on some of these panels. While the larger panels are always great, smaller panels help to focus more on specific issues and populations within the community that don’t always get discussed in the bigger rooms. 2018 Movie Highlights from @kleffnotes

With 2018 drawing to a close I thought that I would share some of the movies I really enjoyed this year. Now this isn’t even a remotely definitive list of things that came out in 2018 and I also want to point out that I picked things that had come out near the end of the year. I am sure other lists have covered the major blockbusters and the earlier movies I think have been mentioned all year round. So in short here are four movies I enjoyed that came out between October and the end of the year. Continue reading “2018 Movie Highlights from @kleffnotes”

The Wicked and The Divine Comic Series Feature from @kleffnotes

In December I typically have a little bit of downtime where I can indulge in catching up on some comics that I have gotten desperately behind in. I read the first four volumes of The Wicked and The Divine ages ago, but had just never seemed to find time to read the next three volumes. Now I know this means I’m still not completely caught up with the series, but being caught up with all of the collected volumes is alright with me. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Comics vs. Netflix from @kleffnotes

I have already mentioned the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on The Nerdy Girl Express before, but I limited myself to only talking about the Netflix series. Today I thought I would share a little bit about the source material that inspired the series. Get your coven together and get ready to delve into the comics. The Ice Cream Truck Movie Review from @kleffnotes

Mary just moved back to the town she grew up in and is trying to adjust to suburbia. For the first time in ages she is alone, but only because her kids are still in school. As a writer she has the flexibility to move earlier than the rest of her family and get the house set up. What strikes her about this new neighborhood is that there is an ice cream truck that drives through almost all day long. With strange neighbors and this ice cream truck circling Mary isn’t exactly feeling at ease in her new home. Continue reading “The Ice Cream Truck Movie Review from @kleffnotes”
