The Bi Line: New Year, New You and Terrible Tropes from @kleffnotes

Normally I don’t really write articles that delve into what I disliked about a piece of pop culture, but after watching New Year, New You on Hulu I just kept fixating on how much this movie frustrated me. This movie came out as part of the Into the Dark series and acted as their January holiday themed feature. Based on the trailer I was really looking forward to checking this new addition out, especially since I really enjoyed the other movies they’d released. When I started the movie I was enjoying it and relishing in the fact that this was an all female horror movie cast, until the first death happened and I started fuming. Anthem of a Teenage Prophet Movie Review from @kleffnotes

The small town of Stokum, Michigan is changed when a teenager dies in a tragic accident, but not because of the death, instead because someone foresaw the event. Luke is just an average high schooler until it gets revealed to the press that while hanging out with some guys the night before he had a vision of his best friend dying. Anthem of a Teenage Prophet examines what happens when you are forced to try and understand sudden changes in your life and how to cope with things that you never expected to happen. The Neon Demon Movie Review from @kleffnotes

The Neon Demon is a flashy and beautiful film set in the modeling industry in Los Angeles. As the movie plays the use of lights and editing techniques makes it feel as though you are in some cases watching an art installation come to life. At first glance you would not expect this to be a horror film, but as it progresses the darkness that lies within the world of the models slowly begins to leak out. 2018 Movie Highlights from @kleffnotes

With 2018 drawing to a close I thought that I would share some of the movies I really enjoyed this year. Now this isn’t even a remotely definitive list of things that came out in 2018 and I also want to point out that I picked things that had come out near the end of the year. I am sure other lists have covered the major blockbusters and the earlier movies I think have been mentioned all year round. The Ice Cream Truck Movie Review from @kleffnotes

Mary just moved back to the town she grew up in and is trying to adjust to suburbia. For the first time in ages she is alone, but only because her kids are still in school. As a writer she has the flexibility to move earlier than the rest of her family and get the house set up. What strikes her about this new neighborhood is that there is an ice cream truck that drives through almost all day long. Hunter Trailer Review from @kleffnotes

Hunter is a horror/thriller film that won’t be a releasing until next year, but I had the opportunity to check out the trailer a little bit in advance. Set in the streets of Chicago, Hunter has been homeless since the deaths of his mother and sister roughly 10 months before the start of the movie.
