The Last Carolina Sister from @kleffnotes

As the title may indicate, The Last Carolina Sister, is the third and last book in The Magnolia Sisters series. Much like the previous books in the series you can read this as a standalone if you have not yet checked out the rest of the series. This is the cozy sort of read that is perfect for either a cold day, if you are still experiencing the joys of winter, or as a nice escape from the stress of your day to day life.

Preternatural: Evolution Book Review from @kleffnotes

The Preternatural Trilogy has a second book releasing on April 15th and in preparation for the release I wanted to share how this new story ties into the first book. The series focuses on the town of Meadowsville, which is home of the most popular urban myth figure, Mr. Smith. This vampire like entity rules over the town through slaughter and upholding long standing traditions that maintain his control over the town. When an unlikely alliance is made to combat the threat of this monster the town and everyone there is changed forever.

Love Odyssey Book Review from @kleffnotes

The second book in the Transylvanian Trilogy, Love Odyssey, releases tomorrow and before the book releases I wanted to share my thoughts. This historical fiction book started off strong and this second book continues to add to the powerful story of Anca. I should lead by saying that this is a series where it is best if you read the preceding book first before you check out this new addition.

And Then We Screamed Gay Fred in Excitement from @kleffnotes

Krista has been introducing me to a number of legal shows and we recently got caught up on All Rise. Now we are stuck waiting for weekly episodes and this week a new episode dropped that did not disappoint. For those who don’t know, All Rise is a series focused primarily on Judge Lola Carmichael who has recently been made a judge in Los Angeles. In the second season they have had to adapt like most shows to Covid restrictions and the actor who plays Lola, Simone Missick is frequently shown through screens or away from the rest of the cast. This most recent episode is odd because she doesn’t appear at all. They don’t explain why, but since she is not present this allows for a focus on a different judge, Lisa Benner.

Ronto Wraps and the Peril of Home Cooking a Park Favorite from @kleffnotes

With no knowledge of what an actual ronto warp tastes like and only a limited number of resources I attempted to make the park favorite at home. The one benefit of never having eaten one before I have no idea what they should actually taste like. For those who have been here for a while you might be wondering how I was even eating a ronto wrap, well in the past few months I’ve started eating some meat. Krista has always eaten meat and it has been easier to do some meals that involve meat. I don’t eat a lot of it and I prefer chicken if I do eat meat, but we thought we would give ronto wraps a try and the recipe is mostly pork.

Inhuman Book Review from @kleffnotes

Inhuman is the debut novel by veteran Eric Leland who took his positive attitude and his own knowledge has been able to create a story that is full of realistic characters and elements that will really draw in readers. With a story that is set in South Vietnam in the year 1969 readers will be transported back in time. While you feel immersed in the true life elements of this story the supernatural will excite you and add a sense of the unknown to what you are reading.
