A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.
When Josslyn (Eden McCoy) came home early from school, Jax (Ingo Rademacher), Sonny (Maurice Bernard) and Carly (Laura Wright) were concerned. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) thanked Julian (William deVry) for hiring Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) back. Cameron (Will Lipton) accused Franco (Roger Howath) of only being nice to him because of Elizabeth. Josslyn told her father how she felt like she was drowning and didn’t know how she’d make it through. Jax reminded how she felt the same when Morgan died but time heals all wounds. Josslyn, Carly, Sonny, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Terry (Cassandra James) all received invitations on their cell phones for a memorial service for Oscar (Garren Stitt). Ned (Wally Kurth) explained to Olivia, Monica, Drew (Billy Miller) and Kim (Tamara Braun) that Oscar planned his memorial to be a day to celebrate his life with laughter and memories, not tears. At the memorial service, Jason (Steve Burton) read a letter from Oscar, who wanted his uncle and dad to build a tree house together on the Quartermaine property for the little kids to play in. Michael spoke at the service how brave Oscar was for getting involved with Josslyn and not being intimidated by all she’d accomplished. He knew Josslyn’s heart was safe with Oscar. Cameron spoke next about how Oscar always let you in and was brave. Josslyn talked about her early crush for Oscar but getting to know the real Oscar was so much better than her fantasy. Drew spoke about finding out he had a teenage son and the bond they shared. The celebration moved to the park where the guests were given a bag on seeds. Ned explained the Port Charles Parks and Recreation designated a portion to be known as Oscar’s Meadow. Ned hoped the seeds a more planted will someday turn Oscar’s Meadow into a full field. Kim spoke about how from the day Oscar was born it was mother and son against the world. But when she got his cancer diagnosis she knew she had to move to Port Charles to give Oscar the chance to get to know his family. Kim thanked Josslyn for being Oscar’s first love and standing by him. Sam (Kelly Monaco) told Drew (Billy Miller) he was a great father to Oscar. Drew vowed to be a great father to Scout too, determined she wouldn’t see any fear from him that something would happen to her. Sonny offered words of comfort to Kim. Looking towards the sky, Kim said goodbye to her boy.
Michael (Chad Duell) came to Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) classroom to thank her for helping Kristina see the truth about DOD. In Toronto, Maxie (Kristen Storms), Peter (Wes Ramsey), Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Laura (Genie Francis) played board games. But it was obvious to Curtis and Laura they interrupted something between Maxie and Peter. Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) told Ava (Maura West) he wanted to return to his wife as soon as he was sure Ryan (also Lindstrom) was dead and buried. When he heard someone coming, Kevin pulled Ava in for a kiss. Unfortunately, the person approaching was Julian (William deVry), who blamed Kevin for bringing his psycho brother into Ava’s life and warned Dr. Collins to stay away from his sister. When Kevin said if Julian had been a better brother Ava wouldn’t have fallen prey to Ryan, Julian decked Kevin and a photographer appeared to snap the picture. The snow stopped; Curtis and Laura were free to leave. But Maxie and Peter still couldn’t come together romantically with Ms. Jones deciding there was nothing else to do except go to bed (alone). They both later decided to seize the moment and their passionate kisses ended up taking them to the bedroom. Nina (Michelle Stafford) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) came to Ms. Tait’s classroom for a meeting to discuss a book Willow added to the library that featured LGBTQ parents with their children. Also at the meeting were Franco (Roger Howarth) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Franco confronted Bianca’s parents about the little girl not inviting Aiden (Jason David) to her birthday party. Nina stepped in and said that as the library book wasn’t for a specific student to check out, it was available for all students to learn different viewpoints not to sway anyone. Valentin overheard Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and Michael talking at The Metro Court. Sasha told Michael when he overheard her say Nina wasn’t really her real mother it’s because she thinks of the woman who raised her as her mother. Finn (Michael Easton) told Chase (Josh Swickard) that Robert Scorpio had his ring. Mac (John J. York) helped Robert get a fake ring for the one he lost. At The Metro Court, Anna saw Robert holding the ring box. Ava decided it would lure Ryan out if he read about Julian’s confrontation and arrest on assault charges. So, Kevin announce to the police he was pressing charges. Curtis and Laura came back to the house in Toronto. After they left, April told someone she got the paper he wanted. We saw a figure eyeing the headline about Ava and Kevin.
Mike (Max Gail) announced to Sonny (Maurice Benard) he and Yvonne (Janet Huber) were getting married. Sonny tried to talk his father out of proposing to Yvonne without revealing she was already married as to not upset Mike. He suggested Mike call Stella (Vernee Watson) and ask her about it. Stella learned that Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) couldn’t be a kidney donor for Jordan (Briana Henry) as he was pre diabetic due to being held captive by his psycho twin. Stella urged Jordan to share the news with Curtis. In Toronto, Laura (Genie Francis) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) talked about April, who they went to see to find out whether she was helping Ryan (also Lindstrom). April called Curtis explaining she wasn’t alone before and asked him to come back and she’d tell him what he wanted to know. Laura wondered whether it was a trap. Anna (Finola Hughes) saw Robert (Tristan Rogers) with a ring box talking with Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner). Anna told Robert that she didn’t want to get married again. Carly (Laura Wright) said to Jason (Steve Burton) how happy she was to be pregnant but sad because of Oscar (Garren Stitt). Carly asked about the plan to nail DOD and wasn’t happy that Sam was willing to let Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) tattoo and drug her in order to get the evidence of tape. Carly was opposed to the idea. Suddenly, she started to experience pain and Jason insisted on taking her to the hospital. Sam (Kelly Monaco) ran into Shiloh putting up flyers in the park. He insisted on resuming her initiation, but Ms. McCall told him because of Oscar she wanted to pick her kids up and spend time with them. Shiloh urged her not to delay as she might change her mind like her sister did. Sam fended surprise Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) left DOD but told Shiloh his teachings took because she (Krissy) was able to make a decision. When Robert gave him back the ring, Finn realized it wasn’t the one he brought and demanded his ring back. When Shiloh criticized The Nurses Ball as an event for rich people to dress up and get together under the guise of charity, Sam invited him to go to with her. Laura and Curtis returned to April’s house but found her dead on the floor. Someone attacked Curtis and then came after Laura as she screamed.
Lulu (Emme Rylan) wanted to sell her tickets to The Nurse’s Ball as she didn’t want to go without Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). But Maxie (Kristen Storms) told her she couldn’t miss the ball and great acts performing. Maxie was glad she and Peter (Wes Ramsey) made it back. She told Lulu about she and Peter’s night of passion in Toronto. Kim (Tamara Braun) went through Oscar’s (Garren Stitt) box of belongings with Drew (Billy Miller). Alexis (Nancy Grahan) bailed Julian (William deVry) out of jail. He told her what happened with Kevin. Carly’s (Laura Wright) doctor gave her the good news that her test revealed her baby didn’t have any birth defects. Finn (Michael Easton) showed Chase (Josh Swickward) the fake ring and wanted his detective brother to arrest Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) for stealing his ring. But Chase reminded that would alert Anna (Finola Hughes) to the proposal. Chase encouraged Finn to propose to Anna without the ring, but Finn didn’t want to do that as the ring contained a rare Morocco sapphire and represented his and Anna’s love story. Anna and Peter talked about he and Maxie. Peter thanked her for encouraging him to pursue his feelings for Maxie. Anna then told Peter she believed Robert was intending on proposing to her. She said that her time with Scorpio was in the past; she was in love with Finn now. Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) ran into Molly (Haley Pullos). Molly was happy Krissy finally saw the truth about Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) and DOD. But Kristina was worried about Sam (Kelly Monaco) believing their older sister had no idea Shiloh was a predator and was on the same path Kristina was on before she left. Sam and Jason (Steve Burton) came to see Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) about using his surveillance equipment to record Shiloh drugging and attempting to have sex with Sam. Molly approached Peter explaining she was a student at PCU about to graduate and had a story that would be perfect for The Invader. It was about a cult called Dawn of Day and its leader Shiloh. Peter told Molly he had an appointment but gave her his business card asking her to email her pitch and he’d determine whether The Invader would be interested in publishing it. Michael (Chad Duell) came to Turning Woods and questioned Sonny (Maurice Benard) about the engagement ring Mike (Max Gail) gave to Stella (Janet Huber). Sonny told his son he’d never seen the ring before and had no idea where his father gotten it. When Carly arrived, she, Sonny and Michael toasted Mike and Yvonne’s engagement with cupcakes as to not upset the couple with Alzheimer’s by revealing they couldn’t get engaged because Yvonne was already married. Later when they returned home, Carly told Sonny she had an envelope revealing the sex of their baby but didn’t want to open it until they were together. The Corinthos was excited and surprised when they read the information inside on the sex of their baby (which wasn’t revealed to General Hospital viewers). Peter urged Finn to propose to Anna before Robert beat him to it. Molly told Sam about her story on DOD for The Invader and if Peter August excepted her pitch, she was writing the story and exposing to the world about the cult. Spinelli feared that if Sam allowed herself to be drugged by Shiloh and mistakenly revealed she was on to him, Archer might retaliate violently. Jason assured they’d stop Shiloh one way or another before they’d let anything happen to Sam.
The 2019 Nurses Ball began with Sydney Val Jean, New York fashion editor of Crimson (Grey’s Anatomy Chandra Wilson) vying with Nina (Michelle Stafford) for hosting rights. Sonny (Maurice Benard) asked Carly (Laura Wright) whether they were staying home or going to the Nurses Ball. Because Josslyn (Eden McCoy) wasn’t, Carly felt she should. And although the event reminds him of Stone (Michael Sutton), Sonny knew Stone would want him to attend. Normally she’s last to enter, but this year Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) was first to walk the red carpet. And the first duo of the evening was Ava (Maura West) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) much to both Lucy and Scott’s chagrin. Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Laura (Genie Francis) regain consciousness and found themselves tied to a chair. They realized it must have been Ryan (also Lindstrom) who killed April. Curtis said they had to escape and could use the sharp edges of the chair legs. At General Hospital, Franco announced he’d gotten a limo to take he, Elizabeth, Epiphany (Sonya Eddy), Felix (Marc Samuel), Amy (Risa Dorken) in style. Maxie (Kristen Storms) was live tweeting the event but stopped to greet Peter (Wes Ramsey) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) on the red carpet. Chase (Josh Swickward), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Sonny, Carly, Michael (Chad Duell), Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), Mac (John J. York), Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and the GH nurses arrived. Willow told Chase she was fired from Port Charles Elementary. Sydney asked Mac what was his favorite Nurses Ball act. He answered Mr. Marbles, his ventriloquist dummy. Sam walked the red carpet with Shiloh and introduced him to Maxie. When Willow saw Shiloh, she panicked. Chase assured her she was okay and Shiloh couldn’t get her. When Nina began coughing and had something in her throat, instead of water a handsome man offered her champagne. It was Jax (Ingo Rademacher). Nina appeared flustered when the Aussie introduced himself and every time she saw him thereafter. Sydney Val Jean commented about the spy duo of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Robert Scorpio with Finn (Michael Easton) thrown in for good measure. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) met Jax but there was something suspicious about their greeting as though they knew each other. Kevin was told that a woman fainted on the red carpet and was upstairs in one of the rooms and needed a doctor to look in on her. But when he arrived, Lucy opened the door and told her ex-husband she was there to convince him what he was doing with Ava Jerome was wrong. Smelling gas, Curtis and Laura managed to get themselves untied and out the door before there was an explosion in the house. Scott brought Ava to the room as he wanted to show her she was wasting her time with Kevin Collins. But when they entered, they had a strange looks on their faces. An announcement over the PA system told the guests it was time to take their seats; the 2019 Nurses Ball was about to begin.
