A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was checking his cash and his and Charlotte’s passports when Liesl (Kathleen Gati) entered. Cassadine reminded how guilty she’d look by running away to Switzerland. But Liesl hoped absence would make the heart grow fonder as far as her niece was concerned. She commented that Nina (Cynthia Watros) probably would have come back to him if he’d been patient. Instead, he created the daughter lie. Both Liesl and Valentin wished each other luck. (Kristen Storms) found Nina sitting at her desk at Crimson. Nina reminded that Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) never said Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was involved in the daughter deception and since Lulu (Emme Rylan) has it in for Valentin it’s possible both he and Liesl are innocent. Ms. Reeves added she knew what Liesl was blackmailing Valentin with. Nina wonders whether she should call the cops and have Sasha arrested for identity theft. Maxie told Nina in her heart she knew what the truth was. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton) were visiting Carly (Laura Wright). Sonny entered and gave the sad news that Drew’s plane’s blackbox was recovered and everyone aboard are now declared dead. Later, Carly held Donna and she and Sonny bonded with their daughter. Peter (Wes Ramsey) met with a woman on the pier. That same woman showed up at the PCPD as the lawyer for the man in custody for breaking Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) out. Once she was alone with her “client”, she instructed him to give his statement that Sam paid him to break Shiloh out so she could kill him. Jordan (Briana Henry) called Sam back to the PCPD. Julian (William deVry) confronted Franco (Roger Howarth) about believing he was Drew. Kim (Tamara Braun) ran into Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) at GH. Dr. Nero admitted she found Franco/Drew his attorney and was bankrolling his representation. She also told Liz that Scott called her to testify at Franco/Drew’s hearing. At Charlie’s, Peter met with Andre (Anthony Montgomery) and questioned him about reversing the memory transfer procedure on Franco. The FBI Agent arrested Sam and told her she was being transferred to Pentonville that very night. Nina returned to Wyndemere.
Jason (Steve Burton) came to the PCPD and asked whether Sam (Kelly Monaco) was okay. “Okay is a bit of a stretch. Sam’s being transferred to Pentonville tonight,” Diane (Carolyn Hennesey) announced. At GH, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) ran into Carly (Laura Wright) and learned she was being released from the hospital today. But Donna had to remain there a little longer. Jax asked where Sonny (Maurice Benard) was. Carly said she had an idea. Meanwhile, Sonny was visiting Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) grave. Cameron (William Lipton), Trina (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) were craving pumpkins. Trina asked Joss why they were doing it so early as Halloween wasn’t for another few weeks. Josslyn explained how excited Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) was so she (Josslyn) wanted to ensure everything was perfect. Dev (Ashton Arhab) entered the kitchen. The teen was looking for Sonny to ask Mr. Corinthos whether he could borrow the car. Since Sonny wasn’t there, Dev commented he could take the car and go to the store and be back before Sonny knew his car was missing. Josslyn got angry and told Dev the last time someone took a car without asking was her brother and the car exploded. William assured Josslyn that Dev didn’t mean anything bad by his comment. But since Morgan died three years ago today, Josslyn said today wasn’t a good day to be making jokes then stormed out of the kitchen. Carly told Jax how she wished she was taking Donna home but knew she had to do what was best for her daughter. Then Carly said she knew Jax was thinking Morgan would still be alive if she hadn’t gone back to Sonny. She thanked Jax for being a great stepfather and giving Morgan a good childhood. Jax commented how seeing Carly with her boys made him want to have a child with her, adding he’s glad Josslyn is theirs and Carly is her mother. Before she was taken away, Jason told Sam to keep her head down and go through the motions in Pentonville and they’d (he and Diane) would get her out. Once they were alone, Jason asked Diane how they would free Sam. Diane said it would be difficult. Because of Sam’s list of priors with some being federal crimes and Jason’s own criminal history with his own list of RICO violations, their story that Sam shot Shiloh to save Jason’s life won’t be believed. Liesl (Kathleen Gati) wanted her medical column at The Invader to be transferred internationally. Peter asked whether she was running away because of her role in the Sasha cover-up. Kathleen lied she didn’t know that Sasha wasn’t Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) daughter. Then, Obretch taunted Peter that his lies and past could come back to haunt him. Liesl said even though she was across the world, she’d be watching him. And if “Henrik” reverted to his true colors and hurt Maxie (Kristen Storms), she’d make sure he’d pay and lose everything. Liesl commented that anyone can survive a checkered past if they keep their facade in place. She added that since Peter made Maxie happy and Nathan would want Maxie happy, Liesl wouldn’t interfere in their relationship.Nina questioned Valentin about him leaving Port Charles and why he did what he did. Valentin explained after Nina learned of his role in Peter being raised by Faison, she wanted nothing to do with him because it brought back memories of losing her baby. So after visiting Madeline and learning Nina’s baby was born, Valentin wanted to find her daughter. But he hit a dead end. Nina said if he came to her as soon as he left Pentonville and Madeline, things might be different now. Valentin explained how he found the lawyer who arranged the adoption and the man led him to Sasha. Cassadine hired Curtis to get the DNA test on Sasha. Valentin lied he didn’t know the lawyer was lying because he never met the man. But Valentin insisted he believed Sasha was a good person who fell on hard times. Valentin cried he’s sorry he couldn’t stop it before Nina was hurt. Nina told Valentin she believed him. At GH, Finn(Michael Easton) told Alexis (Nancy Grahan) about Hayden’s alleged dog Honey Bun and his theory Ms. Barnes was lying and she didn’t miscarry. At The Metro Court, Jax reminded Hayden that neither she nor Finn could get back the time they are missing with their daughter. He told Hayden to ask herself whether she was making the right decision. Nina told Valentin losing him and Charlotte would be the worst so she forgives him. Taking Alexis’ advice to share what’s going on in his life with the person he loved, Finn called Anna (Finola Hughes) and asked her to come home. Valentin called Liesl and told her she didn’t have to leave town because Nina believed them for now. Sam was taken away to a holding cell at the PCPD.
Chase (Josh Swickard) received a phone call and said he’s take care of it. At Charlie’s, Alexis (Nancy Grahan) orders a large breakfast. But Julian (William deVry) was more concerned with getting her help to stop Olivia’s smear campaign against him and the pub. Brad (Parry Shen) arrived for Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) parole hearing. He was surprised to see Michael (Chad Duell). Nelle announced to Michael their son was alive and she gave him to Brad and Lucas (Ryan Carnes). Michael pushed Brad and shouted he’s going to go get his son. But it was all a nightmare. Lucas questioned Brad about his dream and why Cooper when to see a therapist. Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) told Nelle that her hormonal mental state won’t effect whether she’s granted parole; she’d have to show she regrets her crimes and wants to make amends. Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Maxie (Kristen Storms) were having breakfast at Kelly’s when Nina (Cynthia Watros) entered with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Also at Kelly’s were Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and Michael (Chad Duell). Lulu was surprised Nina had forgiven Valentin. Chase entered with an officer who arrested Sasha for fraud. Kendra, Kfeffier’s sister visited his grave and vowed to make his killer (who she believed was Alexis) pay. At the PCPD, Michael told Chase that Valentin was involved in the daughter deception and Sasha was covering to protect Nina and Charlotte. Unfortunately because Nina called Jordan (Briana Henry), he had to do his job and arrest Sasha. Chase said hopefully Michael could keep Sasha out of jail. Chase was going to Nelle’s parole hearing and hopefully she’d be kept in jail. Lucas told Julian about Brad seeing a therapist. Alexis came to the PCPD to represent Sasha. She told Ms. Gilmore she could get a deal for her but wanted to know the truth about Valentin’s involvement. Ms. Davis asked Nina to come to the PCPD and once there told Ms. Reeves that Sasha would pay back every penny Nina spent if Nina kept the case out of criminal court. Nina refused. At her parole hearing, Nelle displayed remorse and talked about how she worked in the prison hospice and would get a hospice job if released. She put on a good show, but in the end parole was denied. Martin Grey told her not to be discouraged and continue to be a model prisoner until her next parole hearing. Michael cornered Valentin outside Kelly’s and warned if he didn’t get Nina to back off, he (Michael) would let Sasha sacrifice herself and would reveal Valentin’s role in the scheme.
In his cell at Pentonville, Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) was writing Ava (Maura West) a letter declaring his love for her. Julian urged Ava not to go see Ryan again. At The Metro Court, Kevin (also Lindstrom) told Laura (Genie Francis) he had to go to Shady Brook to evaluate Franco (Roger Howath) to determine whether he was capable of making his own medical decisions, and not Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Kim (Tamara Braun) came to see Franco and told him Drew was declared dead. Franco/Drew blamed himself. Kim assured it wasn’t his fault. Scott (Kin Shriner) coached Cameron (William Lipton) in his testimony by asking whether the teen started liking Franco when his real self: Franco Baldwin. Cameron gave a convincing response that his feelings changed for Franco because of who Franco is. Scott told Cameron to make sure his testimony appeared unrehearsed. After Cameron left, Scott told Liz that Monica was being called to testify for Franco/Drew. Cameron spoke with Kim and asked Dr. Nero not to take Franco away from his family. Laura congratulated Sonny (Maurice Benard) on the birth of his daughter. Sonny asked Laura how they’d get Sam (Kelly Monaco) out of jail. Kevin saw Franco at Shady Brook. Jason visited Brice, the man who helped Shiloh escaped and told the man he could help himself and get a deal with the Feds if he gave up his boss who Morgan assumed was Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Brice said he’d talk with his lawyer and give he liked the Feds’ offer, he’d tell Jason what he wanted to hear. But when he returned to the cell he shared with Ryan, Brice made the mistake of eyeing the Crimson cover Ryan had taped to the cell wall and saying what he’d do to Ava once he was released. Ryan clutched his pen with deadly intent.
Carly (Laura Wright) asked Michael (Chad Duell) about Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) and who left who at the altar. Michael revealed how Lulu (Emme Rylan) stood up and the wedding and announced Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) was lying about being Nina’s daughter. Michael said Sasha admitted it was true. Carly and Sonny are surprised when they learned Michael knew the truth weeks before the wedding but convinced Sasha not to say anything. Michael explained due to the case against Cassandra since he didn’t want the FBI to question Sasha’s honesty and testimony. He told his parents that it was Valentin who hired Sasha to get back into Nina’s good graces. Carly commented how that still doesn’t excuse what Sasha did in lying, adding Michael is a white knight always trying to save people. Curtis (Donnell Turner) blamed himself for not realizing Sasha was lying. But Jordan (Briana Henry) reminded they lived in a town full of liars. Sam (Kelly Monaco) apologized to her mother for not telling Alexis (Nancy Grahan) about her (Sam’s) arrest. Jason (Steve Burton) entered the PCPD interrogation room and told Sam and Alexis how Sam could be freed soon because he may have gotten Brice to flip on who hired him. Meanwhile, Ryan cleans blood of his hand. We see Brice’s bloody hand hang down from his prison bunk. Ryan then calls for the guard to saying “There’s been a terrible accident.” Brad (Parry Shen) told Julian (William deVry) that Lucas (Ryan Carnes) wanted to go to therapy with him (Brad). Julian didn’t think that was a good idea since Brad would be unable to hide his guilty feelings over the Wiley situation. Curtis came to GH and he and Lucas talked about the advantages of therapy. Later, Curtis questioned Brad about how three separate DNA tests could have been faked. Chase (Josh Swickward) came to Pentonville and taunted Ryan about Ava and got the appropriate response. Jordan called Laura (Genie Francis) about Ryan. Then, Laura called Julian and asked him to come to The Metro Court because Ava needed him. Ava knew that Ryan killed his cellmate even though he was saying the man committed suicide. Sam, Jason and Alexis learned Ryan killed Brice. Sam was taken away. Once at Pentonville, Sam was told her cellmate was in solitary confinement.
