A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Carly (Laura Wright) and Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) wished Josslyn (Eden McCoy) a happy 18th birthday. Carly reminded her daughter it was her first election day. Trina (Sydney Mikayla) and Portia (Brook Kerr) were at The Jerome Gallery to see an exhibit on voting. When Jordan (Briana Henry) arrived, Trina made a comment about the importance of voting in order to elect public officials like the police commissioner. When Josslyn said she’d vote if she could fit it in her schedule, Carly reminded her daughter voting was important. Carly left to get the polling information for her daughter. Bobbie told Josslyn about her great grandmother Beatrice Eckert, the suffragette. Lucy (Lynn Herring) put out authentic items. There was also a candle with ‘Time’ written on the bottom. Josslyn arrived at The Jerome Gallery and saw a photo of Beatrice Eckert, who looked just like her mother Carly. When she and Trina went into a polling booth, they found themselves magically transported to Wellington Park in Port Charles on November 2, 1920. Trina and Josslyn met Beatrice Eckert. They were examined by Dr. Priscilla Johnson (also Kerr), who looked like Trina’s mother Portia. Dr. Johnson explained how she was one of the first women to attend medical school at Howard University. Carly and Trina met a woman named Alice (Finola Hughes), who although from England, was in Port Charles to support her American sisters. The women learned from Eliza (Rebecca Herbst) the women voting center was padlocked so they couldn’t vote. They learned the building was foreclosed the night before. Beatrice has an altercation with Ada Cook (Maura West), which resulted in Ada ending up on the ground. Ada had Beatrice arrested. The suffragette ended up locked in a cell and risked missing voting on Election Day. Lexie Brighton (Nancy Grahan) put Trina and Josslyn in contact with Assembly Woman Mary Butler (Leslie Charleson) who used her friendship with the police commissioner to get Beatrice out of jail. And Trina convinced Ada Cook to set aside her differences with Beatrice and not to throw her vote away by allowing her husband to vote for both of them. Beatrice appeared at the women’s polling place and told the women by voting today they were doing something their aunts, mothers and grandmothers never had the opportunity to do. Once the padlock was broken, they entered the building to cast their votes. Trina and Josslyn wondered whether being there changed history and prevented their return home. Since they were in a voting booth when their “back to the future” incident occurred, the girls decided going inside the voting booth in 1920 would bring them home. Trina and Josslyn were back at The Jerome Gallery. Lucy told them about the special candle that had the power to make people see things that weren’t there. Carly was proud of her daughter for voting and all she learned about the history of women voters.

Tuesday

Franco (Roger Howath) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) were getting ready to leave GH. Cyrus (Jeff Kober) cornered Portia (Brook Kerr) at GH and asked about Trina (Sydney Mikayla). Cyrus reminded Portia how Taggert framed him. Dr. Robinson said she wasn’t responsible for anything her ex husband did. Portia commented she’s about being cordial, but she wouldn’t let him intimidate her…if he wanted to fire her for insubordination go ahead. Peter (Wes Ramsey) met with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) at Charlie’s and told him about his call from “the mother from Hell.” Valentin assumed Peter meant Alex (Finola Hughes). Meanwhile, Alex had Anna (also Hughes) tied up in the basement and told her she planned to take over her life and be a mother to Peter and grandmother to his baby. While Julian (William deVry) texted Ava (Maura West), Sonny (Maurice Bernard) invited her over and told Ava about Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) contacting him asking for him to visit. Ava tried to convince Sonny not to visit Ryan, insisting Chamberlain was playing mind games. Valentin told Peter that Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) probably created a computer program to simulate Helena’s voice to trick him into incriminating himself. Later, Peter texted Spinelli to come to Charlie’s. He told Spinelli he knew it was him who masterminded the rise of Helena’s call. Franco came to see Kevin (also Lindstrom) and told him his tumor was back. Kevin urged Franco to come clean with those he loved. TJ (Taj Bellows) questioned his mother when Jordan (Briana Henry) blocked his application to protest against Cyrus. Overhearing, Renault reminded TJ his job was to heal, not worry about hospital management. Portia questioned Jordan’s support of Cyrus Renault. When someone rang Anna’s doorbell, Alex taped her twin’s mother so she couldn’t yell for help. Alex let Valentin in and pretended to be Anna. Valentin wanted “Anna” to tell Peter the truth Alex was his mother. She aroused his suspicion when Alex as Anna called Peter her son. Ava told Julian how Ryan contacted Sonny asking for a meeting. She thought he should take Nikolas’ (Marcus Coloma) offer to disappear. But later, Julian told Cyrus he was ready to accept his offer. Peter warned Spinelli if he didn’t back off he’d revert back to type and crush him. Sonny visited Ryan at Pentonville and Chamberlain told him he had information that would rock his world. Anna managed to free herself from her bounds and removed her gag. Valentin heard her calls and said he’d help. But Alex came from behind with a syringe.

Wednesday

Portia (Brook Kerr) accused Jordan (Briana Henry) of covering for Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Julian (William deVry) told Cyrus all about Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) letter, why he married her and how he rigged Brad’s (Parry Shen) car to crash but his son Lucas (Ryan Carnes) was hurt in the process. He asked for Cyrus’ help in preventing Sonny (Maurice Benard) from retaliating. Cyrus made a call and told Julian that when he called for him Jerome had better answer. Jordan warned if Portia didn’t keep her voice down, people would get hurt. Then she asked Dr. Robinson how far she’d go to protect someone she loved. Peter (Wes Ramsey) apologized to Maxie (Kristen Storms) for missing her sonogram appointment and told her the baby would make him a better man. Peter took a photo of the sonogram and texted it to Anna. He told her their child was his do-over. But Maxie said he’d still be the same man and having a baby doesn’t change that. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tried to fight off Alex (Finola Hughes) but she managed to get the upper hand and injected him with the syringe. She told him she wanted to be a mother to Peter; she placed him in a good home until Valentin intervened and returned her baby to Faison. When Finn (Michael Easton) called because she was late for their dinner with Chase (Josh Swickward) and Jackie (Kim Delaney) at Charlie’s, “Anna” said she’d be there soon. Alex was ready to slit Valentin’s throat when suddenly Anna (also Hughes) appeared and trained her gun on her twin. Alex warned Anna couldn’t pull the trigger before she killed Valentin. He urged her to take the shot. Instead Anna lowered her gun, placing it within Alex’s reach then handcuffed herself per her twin’s order. “It’s time for a new location, Alex said before hitting Anna over the head with her gun. Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) told Sonny the information he had for him was worth the trip. They heard Ava outside and Chamberlain commented Ava was desperate to get in the room to stop what he planned to tell Sonny. When Corinthos returned to the visiting room (followed by Ava), he asked Ryan what he had to tell him. But Ryan suddenly kneeled over with a knife in his back! Alex had Anna and Valentin handcuffed back-to-back and rigged an appliance to fill the room with gas. She said if that didn’t kill them the explosion would and if any remains were left to identify, people would assume Anna was her. Then, she took off her sister’s engagement ring and Alex went to meet Maxie and Peter at GH. Jordan told Portia about Cyrus kidnapping TJ and also about she and Taggert (Réal Andrews) along with other agents Renault targeted manufacturing evidence to get the drug lord sent to prison. She left out the part about Taggert still being alive. Portia offered to help Jordan think that should work together. Later while confronting Cyrus about the protest, Jordan passed out and Portia rushed to her side. Jackie told Chase she and his father were divorcing. Finn returned home to an empty house and looked for Anna. Alex arrived at GH and found Peter and Maxie. Looking at her son, Alex asked to see the sonogram photos and told the couple she’d be a doting grandmother. Meanwhile as the room filled with gas, Anna vowed to Valentin they wouldn’t die today and not like that.

Thursday

Jason (Steve Burton) met with Robert (Tristan Rogers) at The Floating Rib. Robert told Jason they’d have to deal with the fallout for the people who believed in Peter (Wes Ramsey). Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) scared away Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) source when he thought the man was hitting on her. Lulu reminded her ex husband he had to be there for Rocco and Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). Finn (Michael Easton) returned home looking for Anna (Finola Hughes). While Alex (also Hughes) was with Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) at Charlie’s, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) struggled to escape. When he learned Jordan (Briana Henry) passed out and Cyrus (Jeff Kober) was talking with her when it happened, Curtis (Donnell Turner) asked what Renault did to his wife. Cyrus asked to speak with Portia (Brook Kerr) alone and told her he wanted Commissioner Ashford to have the VIP treatment. Curtis went to see his wife. Jordan told Curtis she was okay and that Portia was helping her pretend otherwise. Dr. Robinson entered the room and elaborated that Jordan told her everything and now she’s a new team player. The plan to keep her away from Cyrus at least temporarily is to say Jordan needed bed rest due to complications from her kidney transplant. While Maxie was in the ladies room, Alex as Anna told Peter no one would tear them apart again. She said to him all the things he wanted to hear his entire life. Finn called Robert when he founded the RA marker test results in the wastebasket. When Scorpio arrived, Finn explained about the test and how Anna trusted Valentin to lay a trap for Alex. Anna and Valentin escaped the abandoned warehouse before it exploded. Robert received the call about the explosion and knew it couldn’t be a coincidence with Anna and Valentin missing. Franco (Roger Howath) asked Jason to kill him then explained about the return of the tumor. Terry (Cassandra James), Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) converged at Casa Webber Baldwin and drank wine while talking about Epiphany’s breakup with Milo. Under the guise of seeing the surgeon who performed her kidney transplant, Curtis and Jordan decided to investigate Cyrus. Robert arrived at the scene of the warehouse explosion and told law enforcement the woman who set it was dangerous. After Alex left Charlie’s, Maxie and Peter commented how different “Anna” acted. Anna called Finn to warn him to get out of the house because he was in danger. While Finn was on the phone, Alex entered. Ava worried what the person who helped Julian with Ryan

Friday

At The Floating Rib, Jason (Steve Burton) commented on Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) shooting pool and they played a game. Sam (Kelly Monaco) asked Alexis (Nancy Grahan) whether she was ready to get help. At GH, Ava (Maura West) told Julian (William deVry) that Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) had surgery. Julian wondered whether he could get to Ryan but Ava told him not to risk it. He said he had other help. “Julian, what have you done?” she asked. Taggert (Réal Andrews) came to Sonny’s house. At The Floating Rib, Lulu (Emme Rylan) showed Peter the draft of the article on Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). He said without sources they are leaving The Invader opened to a lawsuit. He suggested a human interest piece on the people who overdosed. Anna (Finola Hughes) called Finn (Michael Easton) to warn him to get out of the house because he was in danger. Just then, Alex (also Hughes) arrived with Maxie (Kristen Storms). Finn pretended he was talking with Peter and let Anna know Alex and Maxie were there by saying he was with his mother. Anna told Finn she loved him and updated Robert (Tristan Rogers) after hanging up the phone. Sam told her mother if Alexis decided drinking was more important to her she couldn’t see her grandchildren. Ava wondered what Julian’s benefactor wanted in return. Julian showed his sister her Trina’s phone she left at Charlie’s on Halloween. It had a screensaver photo of Trina (Sydney Mikayla) and Taggert. Ava told Julian the man wasn’t Trina’s uncle but her father. Taggert told Sonny that the bartender at a pub called Charlie’s saw him. Lulu and Britt shared a few words. After Britt left, Jason warned Lulu not to get on Cyrus Renault’s bad side. Sonny called Jason and told him he needed him to do something for him. Finn asked “Anna” to make them some tea while he discussed groomsmen gifts with Maxie. Once alone, Finn tried to get Maxie out of the room. But Alex overheard him telling Maxie the woman she thought was Anna was really her dangerous twin Alex and held her gun on Finn. She and Finn struggled for the weapon while Maxie screamed. When she and Robert arrived, Anna found Finn on the floor with a gunshot wound. He weakly told her Alex took Maxie. Meanwhile, Anna told Maxie she wasn’t her prisoner but her guest. Jason came for Julian telling Jerome that Sonny wanted to see him. At GH, Peter saw Finn wheeled in and asked where Maxie was since he learned his mother was looking for her. Anna entered where Alex was with Maxie and the twins drew their guns at each other.
