A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

At Volonino’s Gym, Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) takes out his frustration on the punching bag while thinking about when Ava (Maura West) asked him to leave. At The Metro Court, Ava noticed the look on Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) face as that of a woman who is clearly in love and said they had some catching up to do. Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) investigate the woods near the country house where the nurse took Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Anna commented to Austin (Roger Howath) that it was possible the nurse could have just fallen into the mineshaft. Laura (Genie Francis) assured Maxie her baby would be found soon. She praised Maxie for how she was dealing with all she was going through. Scott (Kin Shriner) was looking for Ava. Laura learned Scott was representing Ava who wanted a very public divorce for Nikolas. Scott encouraged his client to take Cassadine to the cleaners. After Baldwin walked away, Ava told Laura the real reason she was divorcing Nikolas. Brando ran into Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) at GH and asked whether there was a reason she didn’t tell him about her doctor’s appointment. Sasha had a meeting scheduled with Nina and worried how she’d feel when she saw she was pregnant. When Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) was wheeled up in a wheelchair, she heard Sasha make a comment about her past and questioned Ms. Gilmore after Brando left about the game she was playing. Sasha teased Gladys that she was using her pregnancy to trap Brando. Jason (Steve Burton) told Carly (Laura Wright) and Brick (Stephen A. Smith) that although most of the shipment was saved, the warehouse was lost. He decided to send a message to Novak that they wouldn’t be expanded into the Corinthos territory. But Carly worried about him doing this in person. Brick reminded them that until they made it clear who (Carly or Jason) was in charge, they would continue to be hit. After Brick left, Jason told Carly that peace wasn’t an option. Nina suggested Maxie keep her mind off Louise by joining her for her meeting with Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Sasha. Jason reminded Carly that if he didn’t step up and take Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) place, their competitors would tear the city apart and those they loved would be hurt. And because she took the meeting, they’d start with her. Nikolas told his mother he understood why Ava was taking the action she was. But he was determined not to let the divorce happen. Austin approached Scott at the bar at The Metro Court and questioned him about the families in Port Charles. Austin said he was particularly interested in learning about Jason Morgan. Lucy told Maxie she couldn’t be at the Deception meeting with Nina. Maxie thought Lucy didn’t want her there because she was planning a surprise part in order to cheer her up. But she learned the real reason when a pregnant Sasha entered the office. Nikolas told Laura he’d let the Ryan copycat believe he won and then would set a trap to learn the person’s identity. Ava came over to the Corinthos house to visit with Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola). She told Carly that she and Avery wouldn’t be returning back to Wydermere, especially after what happened. When Jason appeared, Ava explained about the threatening notes and gifts she received and how for Avery’s safety she had to divorce Nikolas. “It’s sort of a theater, isn’t it? A performance to demonstrate a binding contract. Legally, two people becoming one. And if an enemy strikes against one…strikes out against both. I used to find that rather comforting.” Ava’s comment about marriage gave Carly and Jason an idea.

Tuesday

Finn (Michael Easton) reviewed the labs of Chase’s (Josh Swickward) latest test results. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and told him how she stopped Anna (Finola Hughes) from searching for Peter (Wes Ramsey) in GH’s sub basement. Finn asked Elizabeth how close was she to telling Jason the truth before he interrupted, adding he didn’t want Jason involved. Michael (Chad Duell) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) about Chase being unable to walk so Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) couldn’t tell him about them (she and Michael) yet. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) arrived at The Metro Court and Brook Lynn left. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) told Anna he would stay with her until Peter was found. Lucy (Lynn Herring) commented how she didn’t want Maxie (Kirsten Storms) at the meeting. Maxie was caught off guard to see Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) was pregnant and asked whether she was involved with anyone. Ms. Jones was also surprised when Brook Lynn entered. Lucy explained that Brook Lynn approached her about a social media campaign for Deception. Maxie drugged Ms. Quartermaine out of the room. Brook Lynn explained that while she was working she’d have to leave Maxie’s baby at Deception’s day care. Maxie hugged Brook Lynn, grateful she came up with a way for Maxie to see her baby. That way, Maxie could spend as much time with her daughter without being questioned. Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) watched Scott (Kin Shriner) and her mother at the bar. After Scott left, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) smiled about her relationship with Scott and commented about Britta and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Britt and Liesl then talked about Britt having Huntington’s. Britt suggested Liesl share her feelings with Scott and not talk with Jason anymore. Jason told Carly (Laura Wright) that Ava’s (Maura West) solution would show there wasn’t any weakness and doubt who was in charge. He said it was good for business. But Carly wondered what it would mean for their lives. Anna and Valentin took a trip down memory lane to occupy their time as they were stuck there for the night. Finn told Elizabeth he was going to the police and confess to killing Peter August but wouldn’t implicate her. He reasoned that if he confessed, there would be no reason for the police to check for DNA (and find Elizabeth’s on his body). He reminded with his confession he’d be giving Maxie some peace of mind that Peter couldn’t target Maxie or her children. But instead of Scott, Violet arrived at Finn’s office with her nanny. Jason told Carly if they took this step there was no going back. Carly commented how everyone will think she ran off every woman in his life because she was planning for the day when she’d need him. Michael wondered about Baldwin’s interest when he questioned Michael about the ELQ board meeting. Lucy showed the new Deception campaign mottled The Face of Conception featuring an image of a pregnant Sasha. Ms. Gilmore then suggested candle light vigils in order to help find Maxie’s baby. Anna and Valentin said they wouldn’t have gotten through the last couple of months without each other. Elizabeth reminded Finn he’d have to think about Violet before confessing. Scott entered the office and asked Finn what he needed legal advice about. Carly was contemplating the decision she had to make when Josslyn returned home. Meanwhile, Britt smiled when Jason came to her office unaware their relationship could be ending before it started.

Wednesday

“I’m interested in hiring you” Finn (Michael Easton) told Scott (Kin Shriner) “It’s about Peter August.” Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) called each other a friend and commented how they couldn’t have gotten through the last few months without one another. Then they moved closer into a kiss. Both Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Ava (Maura West) joined Austin (Roger Howath) at The Metro Court bar. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) met with Diane (Carolyn Hennesey) at Charlie’s and discussed Ellie’s concern of the danger posed to him because of his closest to the Corinthos organization. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) knew if Carly (Laura Wright) had something on her mind her mother had Jason (Steve Burton) to talk with. Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) was happy when Jason said he came because he wanted to see her. Jason said he came to ask her whether she wanted to grab a beer with him. Josslyn commented how great it must be to have someone like Jason as a best friend. Diane and Spinelli were interrupted when Carly called asking Diane to come over. Before she left, Diane’s legal advice to Spinelli was to talk with Ellie and tell her why he was so loyal to Jason. She was sure Ellie would understand and they could come to a compromise. Joseph Novak came over after Diane left and introduced himself to Spinelli. Anna and Valentin were interrupted when Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) called and told her the autopsy report revealed the nurse died from a broken neck when she fell into the mineshaft. They also ran a DNA test. Ava told Sam that she and Nikolas had an open marriage and were getting a divorce. Then she continued to flirt with Austin. Finn told Scott he needed legal representation because he may be questioned by the police because he made no secrets on how he felt about Peter. “Do you know something about Peter August’s whereabouts?” Scott asked Finn. Finn told Scott about Peter poisoning Chase so that gave him a motive for August’s disappearance. He then asked Baldwin to draw up papers making Elizabeth Violet’s legal guardian should anything happen to him. Scott thought Finn and Elizabeth were involved. Anna reviewed the DNA report. The fake Chloe Jennings’ real name was Marie Hopkins. Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) and Josslyn talked about fireflies. Carly told Diane that Jason was getting pressure from the other families because she went to a meeting. Carly told Diane that she and Jason came up with an option to prevent any perceived weakness in the Corinthos organization. Joey Novak told Spinelli his special skills made him valuable to the Novak Family and when they saw something they wanted, they took it. Joey said Spinelli didn’t have a choice…he could volunteer or be recruited. Britt and Jason entered Charlie’s and Jason pulled Joey outside. Carly told Diane she and Jason came up with a solution to convince the factions the Corinthos organization couldn’t be divided. Anna told Valentin that Marie Hopkins’ brother was a helicopter pilot. Nikolas came over and told Ava as long as they were man and wife he wouldn’t let her make a fool of herself. With that, Ava tossed her wedding rings on the floor to make a point they were over. Diane told Carly the plan may work since she and Jason were each other’s Power of Attorney, were the godparents for each other’s children and partners in Corinthos Coffee. But Carly worried if they went through with this she and Jason could lose what they were to each other. After Jason assured he sent Joey Novak home with a message for his uncle so Novak wouldn’t bother him anymore, Spinelli told him how Ellie was threatening a separation. He then left to tell Spinelli about Novak approaching him. Anna found an old family photo of Austin’s and told Valentin she knew Austin’s father.

Thursday

Charlie’s Pub was the venue for Cameron’s (William Lipton) graduation party. Trina (Sydney Mikayla) talked about going off to college and living in the dorm. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) told Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) he intended to get Ava (Maura West) back. Nina (Cynthia Watros) asked Ava what happened between her and Nikolas. Ava said they couldn’t be together. Michael (Chad Duell) refused to have small talk with Jax (Ingo Rademacher) saying he broke something between them. Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) called Jason and asked whether they could have dinner Friday because they were interrupted. Jason asked whether she was free tonight. Jake (Hudson West) continued to give Cameron the cold shoulder, unable to forgive him for accusing Jason of killing Franco. Trina urged Cameron to keep apologizing until Jake came around. Nikolas told Kevin he set a trap for the Ryan copycat by having extra security at Ava’s gallery which included a silent alarm triggered by a motion detector at the front door. Once the motion detector was triggered, he’d receive an alert on his phone. Jason (Steve Burton) told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) he doesn’t hold a grudge with Cameron and wouldn’t want anything that happened with him to cost her his friendship. Scott (Kin Shriner) was surprised Liesl (Kathleen Gati) wanted to go to Cameron’s party. When Ava arrived at The Metro Court, Scott told her Nikolas’ lawyer didn’t know anything about the divorce because Nikolas never called him. Jason came to see Britt. Laura commented on Scott bringing Liesl to a family celebration. Jason told Britt he and Carly were getting married because they realized it was best for the family. Britt realized he wasn’t joking (because he didn’t do that sort of thing); she added that she saw the closeness between him and Carly who literally opened a vein and gave him blood. Britt asked Jason to leave. Jason said he knew what she was going through and would be there for her. Britt didn’t want Jason’s pity and didn’t want to hear what ifs. Trina felt badly for Ava because she and Nikolas were divorcing. Carly announced to Jax, Bobbie and Michael that she was marrying Jason. Bobbie and Michael were supportive of the union, adding they felt Sonny (Maurice Benard) would approve. But Jax expressed his displeasure saying Carly and Jason would do what they wanted regardless. He added he’d do what was right for his daughter when Carly asked him to allow her to give Josslyn the news. Nina invited Ava to move in with her and also told her about Mike (leaving out he was Sonny) and said she was certain they’d never have a future in Port Charles. Not one to wallow in sorrow, Britt left her hotel room. When he entered the Corinthos house, Bobbie welcomed Jason into the family. After she left, Michael asked Jason and his mother what they were leaving out regarding their decision to marry. Trina screamed when she almost bumped into an intruder at The Jerome Gallery.

Friday

Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) visited Brad (Parry Shen) in Pentonville. Jason (Steve Burton) told Michael (Chad Duell) they had to get married because it was the best option for the family. The guests arrived at The Savoy for Trina’s (Sydney Mikayla). Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) was concerned because he couldn’t reach Nikolas (Marcus Coloma). Trina used pepper spray when she was startled by an intruder which turned out to be Nikolas. Brad asked Britt about Wiley. She said WIllow (Katelyn MacMuellen) and Michael were taking good care of him and showed him a photo of the boy on her cellphone. Britt then told Brad about going on the run with Jason to escape Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and sleeping together in Canada. But when she said it was only a moment and nothing would come of it, Brad called Jason a fool and encouraged his friend to indulge in some self care. Jason told Michael about how the other families believed there would be a power struggle between him and Carly but their marriage would convince them they were a united front. “But do you want to get married?” Michael asked. Trina poured water in Nikolas’ eyes to dilute the pepper spray then called Laura (Genie Francis) and said her son needed her. Nina came to Trina’s party and gave Josslyn (Eden McCoy) a journal as a graduation party. Jax told Nina that Carly and Jason were getting married. Carly and Jason told Michael they were doing what they had to do to protect their families and the business. And although Jason never wanted to run the business before, he knows now it’s necessary. Kevin and Laura arrived at The Jerome Gallery and Trina told them what happened. Laura insisted on taking Nikolas to GH to get checked out from the effects of the pepper spray. After they left, Trina came face-to-face with an intruder. Josslyn confronted Cameron for reading her old journal. When he said lead him on then wrote things like he was a bad kisser, Josslyn pulled him in for a kiss. Britt ran into Jax and asked whether he saved the date (for Carly and Jason’s wedding). Portia (Brooke Kerr) started to text to see what was keeping Trina from her own party. She gasp when Trina appeared and was covered in a red substance resembling paint or blood.
