A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Sonny (Maurice Benard) told Carly (Laura Wright) that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) called and wanted to visit him in prison. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) entered The Metro Court. Carly smiled when Sam said she and Dane traveled together. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) gave Sean (Sean Blakemore) information about the tracker he had on Spencer (Nicholas Chavez). Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) was confused when Spencer would be asking about Hayden (Rebecca Budig). Spencer said he liked Hayden a lot better than Ava (Maura West) and didn’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to have her shot. At GH, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) demanded she get the huge teddy bear out his face. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) rushed off when Austin (Roger Howarth) told her and Maxie (Kristin Storms) about Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) being with Valentin. “How are you feeling?” Peter (Wes Ramsey) smirked when Liesl (Kathleen Gati) woke up. She said it was just like him to use his father’s genius to restart Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) programming. Sam told Carly and Sonny that Britt (Kelly Thieubald) and Jason (Steve Burton) were searching for her mother and would help Drew too if he survived being shot and falling into the water. Britt and Jason swam up to Cassadine Island. Jason told Britt to change into dry clothes. They hid when they heard some guards. Then Jason brought Britt to an abandoned boat house where they could stay to avoid detection. Brook Lynn dragged Gladys out of Valentin’s hospital room. Gladys told Brook Lynn how Maxie and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) were giving her a hard time about using Deception’s corporate card. And unless Brook Lynn did something about her business partners, Gladys would be forced to tell Valentin he wasn’t Bailey’s father. Maxie told Austin he was a good doctor so she’s glad he chose his medical career over ELQ. Peter wanted Liesl to convince Maxie to take him back. But Liesl threw acid on Peter’s arm and ran off. Nikolas searched his son for a wire but didn’t find one. He continued to deny having anything to do with Hayden’s shooting but Spencer could see the guilt in his father’s eyes. Sean told Spinelli unless Nikolas said the words they had nothing on him. Peter used his walkie talkie and ordered the guards to find Liesl. Jason gave Britt a gun then left for the compound. Brook Lynn told Maxie about Gladys recording their conversation at The Port Charles Grill and is threatening to tell Valentin he’s not Bailey’s father. They vowed she had to be stopped. Nikolas asked Spencer who turned him against him. Sean appeared and answered he did. Before leaving the pier, Spencer said he wanted to prove Sean wrong but now knows he’s not. Britt fired her weapon and was shocked when she opened the door and saw she wounded her mother. Peter found himself facing the barrel of Jason’s gun.

Tuesday

At Spring Ridge, Alexis (Nancy Grahan) commented to Harmony (Inga Candranel) how she didn’t need to read Russian Literature for dysfunctional family relationships; she only had to look at her own family DNA. Sean (Sean Blakemore) told Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) that Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) was ten times the man he’d ever be. At The Jerome Gallery, Trina (Sydney Mikayla) pulled out her pepper spray when she heard a noise behind her. It was Spencer. At Kelly’s, Cameron (William Lipton) complained to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Spencer walked out on his shift the first day after he stuck his neck out for him. Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) opened the door and saw she’d wounded her mother. Liesl (Kathleen Gati) was happy her daughter came to rescue her. Peter (Wes Ramsey) found himself facing the barrel of Jason’s (Steve Burton) gun. He tried to run but Jason hit him over the head. Alexis told Harmony about Spencer stalking Ava (Maura West) and how Nikolas has gone over to the dark side. Sean said Hayden (Rebecca Budig) deserved justice and Nikolas was going to give it to her. Spencer told Trina he wanted to talk to her because he needed a real friend. Esme was looking for Spencer. Cameron told her he walked out without saying anything. Esme explained how Spence’s father and stepmother showed up at Kelly’s and expected him to wait on them, which probably embarrassed him. Britt apologized for hurting her mother. Liesl said if she had to die she would rather do it in her daughter’s arms. Britt assured Liesl she didn’t come all this way for her to die as she looked for an exit wound. Liesl passed out as Britt pulled out the spearfishing wound. Peter said he had something Jason wanted otherwise he’d be dead. Jason told Peter to order the guards to the lighthouse on the other side of the island. Nikolas reminded Sean he had nothing, adding Sean wasn’t being noble. Plus Hayden’s always known. Trina let Josslyn’s call go to voicemail because she could tell Spencer was hurting. Esme suggested they take Spence on a road trip for a day. She showed Cameron and Josslyn a rustic cabin they could rent online. Cameron said he couldn’t take time off from work. Esme then questioned why Cameron and Josslyn haven’t slept together yet. Liesl praised Britt’s field surgery skills. When her daughter said Jason came with her, Liesl thought he left Carly for Britta. But Britt told her mother how Carly’s husband came back so the marriage was invalid, adding she wouldn’t be second best. They heard someone at the door. Alexis told Harmony about Nikolas’ deal. Harmony asked why she hadn’t taken it. Nikolas told Sean he couldn’t give him the time he lost with TJ back. But he asked Sean to name a figure it would take for them both to move on. Josslyn told Esme to stop minding her business. Jason was shocked to open the door of the fishing cabin to find Drew (Cameron Mathison) holding a gun on Britt. Alexis admitted to Harmony she was scared of life on the outside. Nikolas’ opening offer to Sean was $500,000. “What if no matter how hard I try I turn into my father?” Spencer asked Trina who told him he was responsible for his own actions and choices. Esme sarcastically commented that she’s tried with Josslyn but wouldn’t make that mistake again. Then Esme left Kelly’s. Peter told Jason he had two choices for how this could end: Either lower his gun. Or kill his brother. Spencer returned to Kelly’s and apologized to Cameron for walking out on him. Cameron reminded Spencer how he went out on a limb to hire him. Cam said Spencer could forget his apology…he’s fired. Spencer assured he didn’t walk out because he quit the job. Josslyn called Trina and arranged to meet her. Spencer told Cameron he thinks he would have been good at the job but now they’ll never know. Cameron gave Spencer another chance and rehired him. Alexis said she wanted no part of her nephew or his offer. Nikolas urged Sean to take the deal and invest in his future. Jason lowered his gun and placed it on the floor as he didn’t want to shoot Drew or have Cain carry out his mission and risk Britt getting hurt. Peter smirked, they all got to live a little bit longer…at least for now.

Wednesday

Portia (Brooke Kerr) told Anna (Finola Hughes) Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) surgery was a success. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) asked Maxie (Kristen Storms) whether she’d come up with a way to stop Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs), who was at The Savoy racking up charges on Deception’s corporate credit. Curtis (Donnell Turner) welcomed Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Carly (Laura Wright) to The Savoy. Carly told Olivia that Sonny was out of town visiting an old acquaintance. At Flatland Federal Prison, Cyrus (Jeff Kober) asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) how it felt to be back from the dead. Sonny smiled and answered better than Cyrus spending the rest of his life in prison. At GH, Chase (Josh Swickward) told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) how frustrating it was not being on active duty. Valentin was awake and told Anna if Victor was telling the truth about being his father that makes him Charlotte and Bailey’s grandfather. He told Anna he needed to see Victor. Maxie and Brook Lynn were discussing how to neutralize Gladys. Chase entered Kelly’s and wanted to ask Maxie questions about the night of her daughter’s kidnapping. Brook Lynn suggested Maxie to a moment to collect herself. Chase apologized for upsetting Maxie and told Brook Lynn he wouldn’t rest until Louise was safely back in Maxie’s arms. Cyrus told Sonny he had information for him but expected Corinthos to return the favor at a later date. Cyrus told Sonny that Joey was positioning himself as head of the Novak organization. Meanwhile, Joey was back in Port Charles and vowed he’d get revenge for his uncle’s murder. Portia told Elizabeth her worry that Curtis was in danger. Joey confronted Carly at The Savoy until he was thrown out by Curtis, who warned Carly to watch her back. Cyrus asked Sonny about Laura. Valentin assured Anna that Victor may think he’s using him, but Valentin would be using Victor. Portia showed Curtis a sketch of TJ’s (Taj Bellows) and the man who asked questions about him saying they were one in the same. Curtis looked at the sketch. He didn’t recognize the man but said there was something about the man’s face that looked familiar. Joey vowed to take over Port Charles and The Savoy and told his henchman to call a meeting of the families. After the henchman walked away, Joey saw Marshall on Pier 54 and they shared a look of knowing. Carly spoke with Sonny and told him about being confronted by Joey Novak. Sonny told her he’s back and would take care of everything.

Thursday

Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) came to The Jerome Gallery with Sean (Sean Blakemore) and told Ava (Maura West) they had business to discuss. At Spring Ridge, Alexis (Nancy Grahan) told Harmony (Inga Canadrel) she wasn’t accepting Nikolas’ deal because she was done making deals with the Devil. “What Devil are we talking about?” Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) asked. He explained Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) had an internship at Spring Ridge because she was considering becoming a Psych Major. He drove her because Spencer wanted to visit with his Aunt Alexis before visiting hours were over. At The Metro Court, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) greeted Robert (Tristan Rogers). It was obvious she was drunk. He suggested she talk with him instead of drinking alone. Robert encouraged Olivia to talk to Ned (Wally Kurth). Trina (Sydney Mikayla) showed Ned a photo art exhibit of a famous National Geographic artist. Trina wanted to do a similar exhibit at The Jerome Gallery. Ned offered to bankroll the event. Nikolas asked Sean whether he’s given any more thought to his offer. Sean accused Nikolas of hiring someone to kill Hayden’s (Rebecca Budig) mother Naomi. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) came to GH to investigate the beating of Joey Novak. Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrived at The Savoy and updated Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brooke Kerr) about what happened with Drew (Cameron Mathison) in Greece. Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) was brought to see Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). “Hello Victor. Or should I say Dad?” Valentin told Victor he and Anna would put in a good word for him with the WSB if he helped them catch Peter (Wes Ramsey). Spencer told Alexis how he was working at Kelly’s as a condition of his bail. Harmony questioned Esme’s interest in serial killers. Dante arrived at The Savoy to ask Curtis about seeing Joey Novak at The Savoy. Dante urged Curtis to be careful and not join Novak’s enemy list. Sean said he could bring his suspicions to Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), a respected physician who’s raising his and Hayden’s daughter. Sean decided to accept Nikolas’ deal but added another zero at the end. Alexis urged Spencer not to turn into his father, adding there were more important things than money. Glancing over at Esme, Spencer said a pauper for a boyfriend wasn’t what she signed up for. Ned decked Robert when he saw Olivia kissing him. He left behind the painting he got her as a gift. Nikolas didn’t tell Ava the specifics of his “business meeting” with Sean. Nikolas ran into Trina at GH. She was someone who he could be himself with and him having money didn’t matter to her. After Harmony and Alexis left the room, Esme came to Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) and said she told him she’d take care of everything.

Friday

Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) interrupted Carly (Laura Wright) and Cameron (William Lipton) kissing at Kelly’s. Cameron gave Spencer his paycheck. Spencer opened the envelope and asked Esme how he was supposed to live on the amount. Esme encouraged Spencer to make things right with Ava (Maura West) and his father. Spencer asked Cameron for an advance. Cameron told Spencer the amount was for the two days he worked, adding he couldn’t give him an advance because he doesn’t sign the checks. Portia (Brooke Kerr) came to The Jerome Gallery and said the photos for the art exhibit looked amazing. Trina (Sydney Mikayla) assured her mother that she wouldn’t let Spencer make her do something she knew wasn’t right. Portia’s glad her daughter knew how to make smart choices. Sean (Sean Blakemore) told Alexis (Nancy Grahan) since he was unable to get a confession out of Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), he accepted a hush payment which he planned to use towards starting a non-profit. Sean asked Alexis to be on the executive board. Ava and Nikolas ran into Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly at The Metro Court. Ava commented about Avery’s safety after Joey Novak approached Carly. Sonny said Avery was fine but suggested she and Nikolas concentrate on Spencer. Trina accused Spencer of not changing when he insisted he wanted to make things right with Ava when the only thing he cared about was the money. She said she was done with Spencer and asked him to leave. Trina said Spencer was more real when he was Victor and should try to be him again. Sonny visited Joey and Novak. Novak made a mistake he couldn’t come back from by threatening his wife. Sonny told Joey he was taking Vincent’s territory and all his holdings. Sonny said Joey made the mistake of hubris which is arrogance on steroids. He added that it was the downfall of lesser men than him. Nikolas gave Sean the papers for the non-profit naming him as an administrator. Portia thanked Elizabeth for drawing the sketch of the man who asked about Curtis (Donnell Turner). Elizabeth and Carly talked about what Nina (Cynthia Watros) did. Sean showed Alexis the non-profit documentation to ensure it was legally sound. When Ava and Nikolas return to The Jerome Gallery, Spencer said he came to see Ava. He told Nikolas he no longer wanted to be a prince and would make his own way. “I’m no longer your son. I’m no longer a Cassadine. Goodbye Nikolas.” Spencer thanked Trina for helping him see things clearly then left. Sonny and Carly wondered if neither of them requested Joey Novak be taken care of, then who did?
