A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Alexis (Nancy Grahan) came to Charlie’s and ordered a glass of champagne. At The Savoy, Maxie (Kristen Storms) apologized to Anna (Finola Hughes) for the way she treated her last year because of Peter (Wes Ramsey). “Your partner in crime may never wake up” Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) told Victor (Charles Shaughnessey). Austin (Roger Howarth) was monitoring Peter when August moved his finger. Carly (Laura Wright) told Drew (Cameron Mathison) in the light she’d mistaken him for Jason (Steve Burton). Drew commented about Jason finding magic from troubles in coming to the bridge. “This magic is gone and so is Jason,” said Carly. Sonny (Maurice Benard) told Nina (Cynthia Watros) she did her civic duty by driving and assured he wouldn’t be driving as he poured himself a drink. Not only couldn’t he find his keys, but he didn’t want to make things worse. Harmony (Inga Candranel) approached before Alexis could take a drink. She offered to be an ear if Alexis needed someone to talk with. Maxie told Anna she was glad 2021. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) came up. Maxie commented how her mother and Anna haven’t seen each other since Sean Donnelly’s memorial service. After Maxie walked away, Felicia told Anna she understood how she felt the need to believe the best in Peter and how she tried to protect him when she thought he was her son. But since they were friends, Felicia added she thought Anna would have given her the heads up. Mac (John J. York), Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura (Genie Francis) talked about how Cyrus (Jeff Kober) allegedly found religion and the threat closer to home in Victor Cassadine. Austin interrupted Britt and Victor’s conversation to tell them Peter was awake and asking to see Victor. Carly told Drew how the one person she needed to talk with was no longer there. Sonny told Nina what happened when he told Carly about them falling in love in Nixon Falls. He explained how Carly accused him of still having feelings for Nina and that he told her the feelings were Mike’s. Nina said whatever happened between them was dead and buried under the ashes of The Tan-o. Britt called Mac to tell him Peter came out of his coma. Maxie wanted to come with Mac when he went to GH. Peter demanded Victor give him protection from those who wanted him dead. Victor agreed to help Peter if August could get the information Cassadine needed from Drew Cain. Drew told Carly he was there for her if she needed him. Nina told Sonny she hoped he and Carly could work through their problems. Kevin and Laura returned home. Laura was surprised by the visitor who arrived at her door. It was Tracy (Jane Elliott) who had sad news about Luke (Tony Geary). “He’s gone” she told a shocked Laura.

Tuesday

Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brooke Kerr) woke up in bed and greeted each other with Happy New Year. Since he didn’t have to go to the club and she was off and didn’t have to go to the hospital, Curtis didn’t see any reason why they had to leave the bed any time soon. Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) it was time for the Quartermaines to move on. Ava (Maura West) and Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) ran into Victor (Charles Shaugnessey) in the lobby of The Metro Court. Nikolas grabbed the newspaper Victor was reading. Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) told Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) he wasn’t getting in to see Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Since Drew (Cameron Mathison) returned home in the morning, Monica (Leslie Charleson) hoped it meant he had a good night. Laura (Genie Francis) woke Tracy (Jane Elliott) up from a nightmare about Luke (Anthony Geary). She blamed herself for him being killed in the cable car accident. Drew told Monica he and Sam are just co-parenting; there’s no reconciliation in their future. Olivia announced they were starting the process for Ned (Wally Kurth) to adopt Leo and make him an official member of the Quartermaine family. Bobbie told Valentin that Victor was there earlier seeing Peter. Nikolas was angry about an article in The Invader that painted him and ELQ as the villain. Sean (Sean Blakemore) entered. Portia commented how even though they haven’t been together in twenty years, it felt right. She added even if they could go back and do things differently, she wouldn’t change a thing. Drew wanted to go to GH to see Peter. Monica warned him to be careful. “I lost one son to Peter August. I don’t want to lose another.” Bobbie had to leave when she received a text from Laura. She told Valentin to behave himself as Alexis (Nancy Grahan) came up. Tracy told Kevin and Laura how her last words to Luke were said in anger during an argument because she didn’t want him to go chasing down a get rich quick deal. She told Laura she had to leave because she’d break down when Bobbie got there. Ned wanted to talk with Olivia about their relationship. Alexis told Valentin she just came from a meeting because she almost fell off the wagon. Olivia told Ned she forgave him for his infidelity. She added they lost faith in each other and forgot how to communicate. Olivia told Ned when she looked at him she saw the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Monica and Brook Lynn were surprised when Tracy arrived. She said she really needed her family right now. Kevin offered Laura comfort and support knowing that Luke had been a pivotal part of her life. Laura talked about how last month it was forty years to the day she and Luke got married. Bobbie entered and Kevin left. Sean told Nikolas he used the money from the non profit to purchase The Invader. After Sean walked away, Victor told Nikolas he could take care of Sean for him. Portia told Curtis she wanted to learn from their past and mistakes. “I have something I wanted to say to you all morning. Portia, I’m starting to fall in love with you,” Curtis said. Victor told Nikolas sacrifices had to be made for the greater good. Kevin appeared and told Nikolas he needed to check in with his mother. “Luke’s been killed.” Ned told Olivia he wanted to make it official by renewing their vows. She said they had to put each other first and not let anyone interfere in their marriage…especially his mother. When Laura told her about the cable car crash, Bobbie refused to believe Luke was gone and left a voicemail for him to call her. “He can’t be gone,” Bobbie cried in Laura’s arms. Valentin asked what triggered Bobbie’s near slip. Victor commented to Kevin how Luke was such a larger than life figure. “It’s a pity he had to go out in such a trivial way.” Tracy told everyone she just had to come home to be with her family. She added that she knew she’d spend the rest of her life with Luke when they got together a few years ago in Amsterdam. But the joke’s on her because she didn’t realize how soon the end would come. “This was no accident” Bobbie said and told Laura someone killed Luke. Portia told Curtis she was falling in love with him and suggested they leave the past in the past. Sean came to Alexis’ house and told her he wanted her to be his second in command. At GH, Valentin told Drew he controlled his ELQ voting stock. Victor apologized to Kevin for his choice of words calling Luke’s death trivial, adding he always thought Spencer would go out in a blaze of glory. Laura assured Bobbie that Luke’s death was an accident. Victor spoke with someone on the phone and said now that Luke has been neutralized it was time to proceed with Phase 2 of the plan.

Wednesday

Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) asked Michael how his parents were doing. She said she wished she never overheard Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny at the chapel. Tracy (Jane Elliott) asked Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) where she got the baby, remembering how her granddaughter called her to find out how to get a blackmarket baby. At Charlie’s, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) talked about Maxie (Kristen Storms) and how she was dealing with the loss of Louise. Maxie asked Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) whether she’s spoken with Peter. “Peter had escaped from this hospital once before. I can’t deal with that happening again,” Maxie told Britt. Martin (Michael E. Knight) arrived and asked where to find Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) room. Martin met Peter who told him he wanted to hire him to prove he didn’t kill Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). Martin agreed to be Peter’s attorney for a hefty retainer of $50,000 but made it clear it was only for the Franco Baldwin murder. For the other laundry list of charges, Peter would have to find another lawyer. When she learns he is now Peter’s lawyer, Maxie reminded Martin how she helped him and Lucy (Lynn Herring) on New Year’s Eve. Martin told Maxie that this is business and New Year’s Eve was a pleasure. Sam (Kelly Monaco) came over to see Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and learned about Sean’s (Sean Blakemore) job offer. Brook Lynn assured her granny she didn’t steal a baby. Harmony (Inga Candranel) brought a belated Christmas present for Wiley. She was touched when he drew her a picture. But later Michael reminded her what went on between him and Willow was none of her business when she commented on what Willow told her about the Nina situation. Victor offered to help Valentin get revenge on Brook Lynn. Not wanting him to hear about it another way, Martin told Valentin he was going to be Peter’s lawyer. Britt visited Peter. He accused her of poisoning him. She said if she had been the one to poison him she wouldn’t have gotten the dosage wrong and he’d be dead. Britt added she didn’t want him dead. She wanted him to spend the rest of his life in prison knowing he’d never see his daughter. Maxie joined her mother and Anna at Charlie’s and told them that Martin is representing Peter. Robert entered and gave them the sad news about Luke’s (Anthony Geary) death. Maxie and Felicia left to see if they could help Tracy in any way. Anna commented first Holly (Emma Samms) and now Luke. Alexis decided to accept Sean’s job offer. Valentin accepted Victor’s offer to get revenge on Brook Lynn. Maxie and Felicia arrived at the Quartermaine mansion and offered their condolences to Tracy. Maxie immediately went over to Bailey’s bassinet. Tracy watched Ms. Jones’ actions around the baby and put the pieces together. When she was alone with the baby, Tracy commented on Bailey’s interesting life so far. “Or should I call you Louise.”

Thursday

Tracy (Jane Elliott) looked at Bailey and said she wished the baby could tell her what her mother was up to. “What makes you think I’m up to something?” Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) asked when she entered. Maxie (Kristen Storms) told Lucy (Lynn Herring) she was ready to concentrate on Deception. At The Metro Court, Brando (Johnny Wactor) told his mother Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) wouldn’t be joining them. They were surprised when Sasha appeared. But Sasha wasn’t there to join them. She said she felt it was time to go back to work at Deception. Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) asked Carly (Laura Wright) where daddy was. Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) arrived and they talked about what happened in court with Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny (Maurice Benard). Nina told Ava about Sonny staying at The Harbor View. Olivia compared Carly falling in love with Jason (Steve Burton) as similar to what happened with Sonny and Nina. She also told Carly that Ned( Wally Kurth) would be adopting Leo. Tracy commented how she never expected to see the maternal side of Brook Lynn who left for Deception. Ned interrupted Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Alexis (Nancy Grahan) at The Metro Court and told them about Luke’s death in the cable car crash. Sam and Alexis were surprised when Tracy entered. Alexis told Tracy she gave her an idea for a story about abusing their privilege. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) came to see Sonny at The Harbor View Towers. Sonny told his son how Carly couldn’t see that “Mike’s” feelings for Nina were not his. Lucy, Maxie and Brook Lynn were surprised when Sasha arrived and announced her return to work. But when the woman watching Bailey at Deception’s daycare brought the baby to the executive offices, Sasha had to excuse herself. Brook Lynn told Maxie she had the feeling her grandmother knew the truth about Bailey. Sam called Dante and asked him to get to The Metro Court to make an arrest. Brando told his mother that Sasha seemed fine. But Gladys said things weren’t as they seemed. Sasha reapplied her lipstick and appeared in control in front of Lucy, Maxie and Brook Lynn. Before Tracy could tell Ned about Brook Lynn not being Bailey’s mother, Dante arrived and arrested her. Ava told Nina that Sonny may love Carly but he loves her too. Sonny returned home to talk with Carly.

Friday

Chase (Josh Swickward) came to Crimson to pick up Bailey. But Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told him to stay away from her granny Tracy (Jane Elliott) so he shouldn’t go home yet. Ava (Maura West) told Trina (Sydney Mikayla) their dinner at The Metro Court was a working dinner with their new employee: Spencer (Nicholas Chavez). Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) arrived at Kelly’s in time to overhear Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tell Cameron (William Lipton) her mom and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) was over. She asked whether that meant their cabin weekend was over. Phyllis (Joyce Guy) arrived at Crimson and told Nina (Cynthia Watros) she knew what happened in court. Sonny apologized for not telling Carly (Laura Wright) about what happened between him and Nina in Nixon Falls adding after nine months and one day, he couldn’t spend one more night away from her. At GH, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) told Finn (Michael Easton) she brought a new dress for their date, adding she knew Franco (Roger Howarth) would want her to be happy. Ava announced that Spencer wouldn’t be working for her…he’d be working for Trina. After Chase left Crimson with Bailey, Olivia commented to Brook Lynn about her and Chase. Ava told Spencer he wouldn’t be working for her but working for Trina. Esme apologized for her insensitive remark and then told Cameron and Josslyn about her parents’ split. “What if Sonny’s happiness lies with me?” Nina asked Phyllis. Carly asked Sonny what the other reasons were for keeping the truth and asked him again if he had feelings for Nina. Sonny admitted he did. Ava explained she and Nikolas were planning on renewing their vows so she would have little time to spend at the gallery. Trina left but Ava ordered Spencer to sit down. Ava told Spencer he could make restitution to Trina by making work easier for her. Trina called Josslyn and told her she was with Ava and Spencer and things went sideways. Cameron reminded Esme that regardless of how she felt about her own family situation, she went too far with her part in stalking Ava. At GH, Chase asked Finn how things were going with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Carly told Sonny she never blamed him for whatever feelings he had as Mike. But she does blame him for keeping the truth from her after she asked him countless times what happened in Nixon Falls. Phyllis told Nina although she could have a future for Sonny, she would be wrong to pursue him. She urged Nina to let Carly and Sonny figure things out. Carly told Sonny in order to move forward she has to know everything that happened between him and Nina. Sonny thought knowing would only hurt her. Angry, Carly left. Josslyn admitted to Cameron that Esme may not be too bad. Esme picked up a prescription and assured the nurse at GH she was aware of its potency and familiar how to use it. Olivia told Brook Lynn she had a big heart. Sonny thought about Nixon Falls after The Tan-o fire when he was in the ER after regaining his memory of how Nina said she loved him. Carly barged into Nina’s office for a confrontation and told Ms. Reeves she’d be missing her meeting.
