A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

At the Quartermaine mansion, Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) was getting ready for the annual Q barbeque when Dex (Evan Hofer) arrived. At The Metro Court Pool, Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brooke Kerr) were spending a relaxing day after all the worries of Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) trial. Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were spending the day together in the park. Once he was alone with his employer, Dex told Michael his plan with Sonny was about to go up in smoke. “The obvious question is what is your angle?” Ava asked Spencer. At GH, Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) told TJ (Taj Bellows) she had an appointment with Dr. Westbourne (Kelly Thiebauld). She commented how she still hasn’t told me when all she had to do was say four words: “Michael, I have cancer.” After Willow walked away, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) approached and asked whether her son was avoiding her. Spencer assured he didn’t have an angle…he always supported Trina. Ava told him if Trina had known that things would have been easier for her. Ava hinted she had a secret that would blow his mind. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) arrived and warned Ava she didn’t want to say anything she’d regret. He reminded Ava how Spencer was on his way to Pentonville for three months and they needed to support each other as a family. When Ava warned Spencer to be careful as even Sonny’s promised protection prison was dangerous, he commented she sounded like she cared. Then, Spencer left Kelly’s. Nikolas told Ava she’d have to move back into Wyndemere tonight. TJ told his mother Marshall had an appointment at GH today and was concerned about his grandfather and Jordan running each other because her affair with his Uncle Curtis cost TJ’s father Tommy his life. Marshall asked Curtis whether he was going to get the test to determine whether he had the marker for schizophrenia. Curtis figured if the disease hadn’t shown up yet, he was probably safe, adding he would only consider it if he was planning on having kids. Marshall smiled and asked his son and Portia whether they were thinking about giving him grandchildren. Michael took Dex to the Quartermaine boat house for privacy. When Dex told him Sonny was angry when he learned he was dishonorably discharged for punching an abusive commanding officer, Michael said it would work in their favor because Sonny could relate to protecting a family against abuse since he was unable to protect his mother against his stepfather. Nina decided not to join Sonny at the Quartermaine barbeque. Leo asked Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) whether he was coming to see his school play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Willow told Britt she wouldn’t risk her baby’s life and wanted to wait until the second trimester to have chemo treatment. But giving her information for an informed decision, Britt urged Willow to have the treatment as soon as possible saying she could still lose the baby if she delayed. After Willow left, Britt looked at a photo on her phone of her and Ben (Rocco) when he was a baby. Spencer entered and told her about being on Trina’s side the whole time. He added Trina was never going to know because she deserves someone better than him and to be happy. Marshall arrived at GH for his appointment. After his mother assured him it would be okay, TJ left. Marshall told Jordan if she ruined Tommy’s life he did too and more so. Dex was grateful when Sonny said he was giving him another chance. Willow told Michael she had something to tell him. Curtis said he dropped something and jumped into the pool. When he emerged, Curtis pulled out a diamond engagement ring and asked Portia to marry him.

Tuesday

Michael (Chad Duell) assured Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) they could handle anything, concerned by the seriousness in her voice. But their talk was interrupted when Michael stopped Sonny on the terrace. “You’re not welcome here” Michael told his stepfather. Carly (Laura Wright) was impressed seeing Drew (Cameron Mathison) manning the grill. Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) told Mr. & Mrs. Cassadine to take their fight somewhere else when she saw Ava (Maura West) and Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) arguing. Marshall (Robert Gossett) told Jordan (Tanisha Harper) he should have been there to prepare Tommy for life’s struggles. At The Metro Court Pool, TJ (Taj Bellows) pulled out his cell phone to record Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) proposal to Portia (Brooke Kerr). Sonny reminded Michael as the high benefactor of the AIDS wing. He added Nina (Cynthia Watros) chose not to come. When Michael slammed the door in his face, Sonny warned “If you ever do that again, it will be the last door you ever close.” Leo assured Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Sam (Kelly Monaco) wouldn’t be mad at him long then continued working on his Sicilian Thunderbolt after his brother left the room. Ava apologized to Olivia for hers and Nikolas’ raised voices. Chase (Josh Swickward) asked Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) to be his partner for the three legged race. Marshall told Jordan he left his family because he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He wondered whether Tommy was having an episode when his life ended. Marshall asked Jordan whether she noticed Tommy behaving strangely during their marriage. Portia said she and Curtis fit so well together so she said Yes. The assembled crowd clapped and shouted in celebration. TJ congratulated the happy couple then left to go to his table because he was meeting his mother. Jordan was familiar with the signs of schizophrenia and assured Tommy was suffering from PTSD. So his death was her cross to bear. Marshall told Jordan he forgave her and hoped it relieved her burden. Willow reminded the benefit picnic was about charity and suggested Sonny and Michael put their animosity aside just for today. They agreed and Sonny left. Michael told Willow she kept him grounded…he wouldn’t know what he’d O do without her. Olivia brought Wiley in the room. Willow said what she had to tell Michael could wait. Ava entered the room as they left. TJ told his mother Curtis asked Portia to marry him and she accepted. He asked whether she was okay. Jordan said the proposal wasn’t entirely unexpected. Curtis and Portia toasted their future with champagne. Jordan came over and offered her congratulations to the happy couple. Portia left to give them time alone. Jordan hinted at using the elevator in helping Portia with Oz. Curtis called her a class act. Nikolas interrupted Sonny questioning Ava about the amateur move of Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) posting from the South of France. He warned Sonny to stay away from his wife. Ava pulled Nikolas out of the room. Nikolad told Ava he knows he messed up but would always protect her. Chase and Brook Lynn and Drew and Carly were the last two teams left in the three legged race. Drew and Carly were the winners. Willow told Terry (Cassandra James) she decided to wait until the second trimester before getting treatment. Terry suggested she tell her family as research showed patients benefited from a strong support system. But Willow didn’t want Michael to try to talk her into having treatment now. Brook Lynn pulled Carly aside into the stables and asked whether she and Drew were a couple. Carly said they were just friends. She urged Brook Lynn to take her own good advice about discussing a relationship with someone you’re interested with. Leo put the tray with the cups of lemonade on the table. Jordan overheard Portia speaking on the phone about genetic testing for her daughter. When Leo returned, the tray with the lemonade. was empty. He told his mother about putting the Sicilian Thunderbolt in two cups of lemonade and now they were gone and he didn’t know who had them. Chase found Sam alone and told her he was there if she needed a friend. Dante almost bumped into Brook Lynn and they shared a smile. Drew flirted with Carly.

Wednesday

Curtis (Donnell Turner) ran into Anna (Finola Hughes) at The Metro Pool and told her as of an hour ago, he and Portia (Brooke Kerr) were engaged. Jordan (Tanisha Harper) overheard Portia on the phone asking for genetic counseling for her daughter as it concerned her paternal side. At Kelly’s, Trina (Tabyana Ali) asked Rory (Michael Kruse) whether it was boring now they are able to be seen together without thinking of any legal ramifications. Leo worried the wrong couples would end up together because of the Sicilian Thunderbolt. “Drew Cain, are you flirting with me?” Carly (Laura Wright) asked Drew (Cameron Mathison). Olivia told Ned there’s magic out there in the world…he just doesn’t know how to find it. Sam and Dante were acting weird with each other. Spencer picked up Jordan’s purse and handed it to her. Anna congratulated Portia on her engagement. Chase told Brook Lynn he couldn’t deny his feelings for her any longer. Then they shared their first kiss. Drew told Carly if people were getting signals from them they were right because he was flirting with her. Leo popped up from behind a lounge chair and told Chase and Brook Lynn he was the reason they were kissing. Sam told Drew she may never be ready to talk about moving in together. Carly admitted she felt something between them. Rory told Trina he was afraid she would think he was boring because he’s writing a graphic novel and cooks. He said he wanted to cook dinner for her sometime. Jordan warned Portia not to keep secrets from Curtis. Spencer brought Jordan a drink. Portia asked to speak with Spencer alone. Curtis met with Selena in the park. He said he was grateful for the information she gave that helped him find Oz Haggerty. “How grateful?” Selina asked. Carly told Drew him being Jason’s (Steve Burton) brother and Sam’s ex complicated things. Sam decided to throw caution to the wind and move in with Dante. But then Dante said he didn’t want her to move in. He wanted him and Rocco to move in with her. Brook Lynn wondered whether what they were feeling was real or whether the Sicilian Thunderbolt played a hand in it. Selina told Curtis she wanted a product delivered through The Savoy. When Curtis refused, Selina warned he’d rather have her as an ally than an enemy. Jordan asked Anna’s advice on whether she should reveal a secret that could be a gamechanger for Portia and Curtis. Anna said Jordan would have to decide her motives in doing so. Portia thanked Spencer for what he tried to do for Trina. She told him Trina was moving on but hoped the best for him. Rory and Trina entered and Spencer walked away. Portia put her hand so her daughter could see the engagement ring and told Trina how Curtis proposed in the pool. After Portia left, Trina came over to Spencer and commented how unfair he was going to Pentonville for three months. Rory offered to talk with a CO buddy of his there to see whether Spencer could be given the cushy job working in the library. Chase and Brook Lynn decided to give them a chance. Drew and Carly kissed.

Thursday

Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright) stopped kissing and briefly looked into each other’s eyes. Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) was on the phone trying to track down the missing desserts. She asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) to do something. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) came into the stables and saw Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) sitting on the stairs. Spencer was sad because he put his heart out there with Trina (Tabyana Ali) only to be rejected. Nikolas tried to console his son by telling them of the feast they’ll have once he’s released from Pentonville. At the Quartermaine mansion, Victor (Charles Shaughnessey) helped himself and made a martini. He made one for Ava too. Ava said Victor loved being in control of the situation. Leo told Sonny about putting the Sicilian Thunderbolt into the lemonade and wondered whether the truck driver was late because he fell in love. The desserts were delivered to The Metro Court as Olivia used The Metro Court dessert vendor and mistakenly put shipping address same as billing. Nina (Cynthia Watros) told an assistant to make sure Jameeka the chef didn’t quit then arranged to re-route the desserts back to the Q mansion. Drew and Carly took their passion into the boathouse. They were too distracted by each other to notice the grill caught fire. Nina came to the Quartermaine mansion and asked Leo whether his mother was. Nina tried to hide her hurt feelings when Leo said he knew her and she “used to be Wiley’s grandmother.” Olivia and Sonny smelled the smoke and rushed to the grill. Sonny threw dirt on it and put out the fire. The commotion caused Drew and Carly to stop kissing. Drew then remembered the grill. He apologized to Olivia for allowing his distraction to cause a fire. Nina rushed to Sonny and hugged him. She explained she saw the fire and was worried. After she and Sonny were alone, Nina questioned him about Drew and Carly’s closeness. But Sonny said it was their business…he only wanted to talk about her. Spencer arrived at the picnic and told his Uncle Victor how he felt everyone was either ignoring him or felt sorry for him. Victor urged Spencer to stop feeling sorry for himself and think about his father. Seeing how Terry (Cassandra James) was missing Chet, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) told Finn (Michael Easton) they were lucky. But Terry ended up making a connection with Yuri. Liesl (Kathleen Gati) walked away with Scott (Kin Shriner) when Victor approached them at the picnic. Elizabeth picked up Finn’s phone and saw her sister Sarah was calling. As Nikolas continued to convince Ava to give him a chance, Spencer walked in just in time to hear Ava say Nikolas had slept with Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl).

Friday

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) saw Sarah calling Finn and angrily looked at him. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) handed Mac (John J. York) a drink and said he needed it more than her. Victor (Charles Shaughnessey) told Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) “Our family is out of order and I have to get them in line and I need your help.” “You broke us the moment you had sex with Esme” Ava (Maura West) told Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), who turned around and saw Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) standing there. “What did you say?” Spencer asked, shocked. “You heard me…your father cheated on me with your girlfriend” Ava answered. Yuri and Terry (Cassandra James) left the party early and went to The Metro Court Pool. Elizabeth told Finn he better answer the call from Sarah because she was calling in California time. Mac commented how he’d know if Dominique had a child. Lucy said she asked Serena not to come home any time soon until they learn more about Cody. Mason arrived at the picnic and said he’d loved to meet Maxie’s parents when she said they were there. Spencer wanted his father to say Ava was lying but Nikolas admitted he slept with Esme. He cried over the betrayal. Ava slapped Nikolas when he accused her of wanting to create a rift between him and his son because she had been estranged from Kiki (Hayley Erin). Ava left Nikolas alone to talk with his son. Spencer asked his father how long he was sleeping with Esme. Nikolas answered it was one time and he never meant to hurt him. Elizabeth reminded Finn she told him they were over if she interfered in her life again…he’s not her doctor, he’s nothing to her. Anna (Finola Hughes) played ring toss and imagined she was throwing the squares at Valentin’s face. Victor flirted with Lucy (Lynn Herring). Mac met Cody and looked at him strangely. He told him he was friends with his mother. Mac later told Felicia he didn’t tell Cody he was more than friends with Dominique because he already had enough on his plate. Ava walked in on an altercation between Austin and Mason. After she left, Austin warned Mason to stay away from her. But Mason said Ava saw too much. Spencer sadly told Nikolas everything he’s done since he returned to Port Charles was to bring them closer. But now his father is dead to him. Elizabeth couldn’t remember how she got a cut on her forehead. Victor found Spencer drinking and obviously angry with his father. Someone grabbed a glove and a hook from the boathouse and ran Ava through with it.
