A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

At GH, Curtis (Donnell Turner) and TJ (Taj Bellows) discussed Marshall (Robert Gossett). TJ asked Curtis whether having Marshall investigated was worth losing his father. At The Metro Court Gardens, Terry (Cassandra Jame) smiled when Chet joined her for their date. She told Chet how glad she was him finding out he was dating a trans woman wasn’t a deal breaker. Carly (Laura Wright) assured Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) she would never make peace with Nina (Cynthia Watros). Valentin reminded Carly how she had the support system with family and friends as well as a standing in the community. All Nina had was three people, one of which was Phyllis (Joyce Guy). Valentin was confused when Carly asked whether Phyllis was there when Nina gave birth. At Charlie’s, Ava (Maura West) and Nina talked about the circumstances of Avery’s birth. Nina regretted her actions and said she was a different person. Amy (Risa Dorken) entered and joined Ava and Nina and started to tell them about her troubles with Terry. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) thanked Trina (Tabyana ALi) for joining her for her workout to get fit for volleyball. At Kelly’s, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) told Cameron (William Lipton) how he’s having a hard time putting Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) off when she wanted to have sex. Cameron thought Spencer should bring Josslyn into their plan. But Spencer felt Joss was a hothead who would give it away. Esme read the letter she received from her former nanny Maggie Fitzgerald. Maggie believed Esme’s lies about winning an award, having lots of friends and being in a close relationship with Spencer. She was also glad Esme decided against pursuing a relationship with her biological father. Spencer asked Cameron to keep Esme busy if she came to Kelly’s looking for him. Esme came to the yoga class and listened outside the door to Trina and Officer Rory Cabrera talking. Rory commented how he shouldn’t be seen with her as she is a suspect in an ongoing investigation. Chet and Terry exchanged last names. She learned he was Amy’s brother. At the same time, Amy was leaving Charlie’s when a GH colleague told her about Chet having drinks at The Metro Court Gardens with their boss Dr. Randolph. Josslyn vowed to Trina they’d find the mistake Esme made…Esme Prince would go to prison where she belonged. Cameron kept Esme business at Kelly’s. He assured Spencer was her biggest supporter, adding he (Cameron) would treat her as she deserved to be treated. Spencer took photos of Esme’s room and looked behind the picture frame on her night stand. Josslyn entered Kelly’s in time to see Esme hugging Cameron and warned her to get her tentacles off her man. Carly walked into Charlie’s in time to hear Nina tell Ava that Carly wouldn’t take her grandson from her.

Tuesday

Ned (Wally Kurth) asked Drew (Cameron Mathison) to call off the planned merger of ELQ and Aurora. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) they’ll have to get over the fact Cam and Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) are on her side. Spencer found the box of letters and pills Esme used to drug Trina in a Cartullo’s shoe box from the seasons ago. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) told Michael (Chad Duell) she couldn’t get over her mother was dead but Harmony (Inga Canadrel) wasn’t her mother. At Charlie’s, Nina (Cynthia Watros) said she and Carly wanted the same thing. “Peace.” Alexis (Temporary being played by Stephanie Edy) came to the Quartermaine gate house to speak with Willow about Harmony. Esme continued to profess her innocence then left Kelly’s. Cameron rushed to text Spencer, which annoyed Josslyn. “Who could you possibly be texting that’s more important than Trina and me?” Spencer pocketed one of the pills. Ava left Charlie’s to let Nina and Carly “talk” alone. Nina asked Carly to sit down with her. Carly said she was there to check on Phyllis (Joyce Guy) to see how she was doing after the robbery. Carly told Nina she had her own sources who told her about the robbery, adding she did speak to Sonny (Maurice Bernard). Michael left. Alexis and Willow agreed they’ll never know Harmony’s true motives. Spencer read Cameron’s text about Esme being on her way back. “Esme or not, I can’t stop now” Spencer decided to take the box out of the closet and sit on the bed with it. He opened one of the letters. Cameron assured Josslyn he was just trying to do the right thing. Trina told Cam and Joss not to let Esme win. She let Charlie’s. Trina called someone. “I need your help,” she said. When Michael entered, Ned added him to the discussion about the ELQ and Aurora stock. Carly accused Nina about not caring about Wiley…this is all about her. Esme saw Spencer reading the letter. Cameron told Josslyn he wasn’t wired to be heartless. “Unlike me?” Josslyn asked. At the Jerome Gallery, Trina told Ava she needed her help. Ned was suspicious that Drew and Michael had discussed the ELQ Aurora merger and he wasn’t part of the discussions. Learning Alexis knew Harmony wasn’t her mother and the alleged woman Joan gave birth to her, Willow wondered how much of it was true. Phyllis’ arrival ended Nina and Carly’s altercation. Nina said she needed a minute and walked away. Carly joined Phyllis at the bar and they talked about when Nina gave birth. Trina said Ava could put out scheme Esme and asked what she should do. Esme angrily confronted Spencer about reading the letters. He asked why she lied that she lost touch with her nanny Maggie when she had a box of letters from her. Cameron said she had the biggest heart of anyone he knew but she was proactive and acted on her dislike of Esme. Willow wondered whether her father knew what Harmony did. Phyllis told Carly she wasn’t there when Nina gave birth. After Drew left, Ned asked Michael to tell him whether he was being put out to pasture. Cameron told Josslyn in time Trina will understand where he was coming from. Ava encouraged Trina to use Esme’s jealousy by flirting with Spencer to get Esme to slip up or make a mistake. Esme and Spencer discussed their trust issues. Spencer said he felt he didn’t know her as well as he should. Then asked why Maggie wrote no good would come from her getting to know her father. Cameron and Josslyn agreed to disagree on how he was handling Esme. Ava reminded Trina she could come to her if there was anything she struggled with doing. Willow told Alexis the only way to heal was learning who her real parents are. And the first step was taking the PCPD’s DNA test. After Nina left and Phyllis walked away, Carly put the glass Nina was drinking from in her purse. But ran straight into Drew.

Wednesday

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) spoke with Finn (Michael Easton) on the phone and told him she was going to stay on Spoon Island. She stopped home first to pick up a few things. In the alley behind Charlie’s, Drew (Cameron Mathison) asked Carly (Laura Wright) why she picked up Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) empty glass and put it in her purse. Nina visited Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) grave. Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) commented to Michael (Chad Duell) once she took the DNA test to prove Laura (Genie Francis) ran into Sonny (Maurice Benard) outside Kelly’s and told him about The Invader piece on Nina that came out. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) appeared and said he read the article and it looked like Sonny and Nina were made for each other. Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) asked Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) why Maggie wrote no good would come from her getting to know her father. “Who exactly is your father?” Spencer asked Esme. Chelsey Lamb the medium arrived at the Webber house. Carly admitted to Drew she was up to something with information that fell into her lap. She commented if she didn’t do something he didn’t approve of, Jason would support her anyway. Drew said he couldn’t be that guy. Willow and Michael ran into Nina at the gravesite. Nicholas confronted Sonny about threatening Esme. When Nicholas grabbed his shoulder to stop Sonny from walking away, Sonny gripped Nicholas’ wrist and shouted “Don’t you ever put your hand on my shoulder!” Spencer told Esme everything she told him about her past contradicted what’s in the letter. Chelsey explained to Liz she wasn’t a psychic. Drew told Carly he’d always be honest with her and would help her if she was in over her head. Carly told Drew that Harmony told her Nina was Willow’s mother. Carly suggested Drew sneaked into the gatehouse to get a sample of Willow’s DNA. Michael and Willow were on their way to Jonah’s grave. Sonny apologized to Laura and walked away when Martin (Michael E. Knight) appeared. Nina told Willow she felt for her for his losses. But that doesn’t overshadow her love for her grandson and daughter. Nikolas told Laura that Sonny pulled something when he yanked his wrist. Spencer apologized for not believing Esme and pulled back when she began kissing him aggressively. He told Esme they were coming back together so when they had sex again it had to be meaningful not some random hookup. “Is there anything else you wanted to ask me?” Esme inquired. Spencer thought about when he found the bottle of pills and answered “I think we got it covered.” Laura suggested Nikolas go to the ER to get his wrist checked. Once she was alone with her brother, Laura and Martin talked about his recent visit with Florence. Drew told Carly to hurry up when she went upstairs to collect a sample of Willow’s DNA. Sonny ran into Michael and Willow at the cemetery . Both were stubborn and refused to apologize. “Don’t take anything at face value” Esme said after Spencer left the room. Spencer took the pill out of his pocket. Then he texted Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) that they needed to meet. At GH, Finn thanked Nikolas for letting Elizabeth stay at Wyndemere. Nikolas told Finn he had a missed message from Elizabeth but they never spoke. Chelsea told Elizabeth her house wasn’t safe. Martin told Laura how Lucy (Lynn Herring) referred Elizabeth to medium Chelsea. Elizabeth didn’t believe Franco (Roger Howarth) would want to hurt her or her boys. Chelsea told Elizabeth the entity didn’t want a new family living in the house. Nina told Sonny they probably shouldn’t see each other until after the case was over. Carly returned downstairs. But she and Drew were caught when Michael and Willow returned home.

Thursday

Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) called Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) his hero for doing him a favor, telling him he’d make it worth her time with the pleasure of his wit and sparkling personality. “Wouldn’t your little Esme be jealous?” Britt asked. At Spring Ridge, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) smirked as an orderly “helped” Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) into the bed. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) spoke with Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) on the phone about Mac (John J. York) giving off baby vibes. Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) were surprised to find Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright) at the gatehouse. Drew said he’d like to take the blame but it was all on Carly. At GH, Finn (Michael Easton) told Laura (Genie Francis) was missing. Chelsey appeared to be possessed by Franco’s (Roger Howarth) spirit…but is the woman a charlatan? When Carly was at a loss for words, Drew lied he found Carly trying to get into the gatehouse and thought she was a burglar but all she wanted was facetime with them. Nina asked Felicia why she let her in since Felicia was friends with Bobbie and Bobbie was Carly’s mother. Britt questioned Spencer about where he got the pill when she looked up the code and discovered what it was. After the orderly left, Ryan asked Esme why she was there and how badly she screwed up. Willow told Drew and Carly about finding Nina at Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) grave. Michael commented how Nina is under the delusion she could have changed Nelle if she had more time with her. He said Nelle inherited her craziness from her mother. Drew said Michael couldn’t believe that otherwise he thought Wiley would grow up to be crazy. Before Drew and Carly left, Willow gave her a key. But Michael reminded her to call first. Felicia assured Nina that Bobbie wouldn’t turn against her for befriending Nina because Bobbie and Tony’s (Brad Maule) sacrifice remains under the surface. Felicia told Nina since Nathan (Ryan Pavey) was her brother she couldn’t turn her back on her. When Esme told him about Spencer searching her room and finding the pills she used to drug Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Maggie’s letters, Ryan angrily accused his daughter of ruining everything they worked for. Britt told Spencer of the side effects the drug produces, especially when combined with alcohol. She urged him to come clean with her if he cared for Esme and her health. Spencer snapped he came to her for information, adding she didn’t know what it felt like to be in love asking whether she’d ever been in love. A hurt Britt commented she never had nor would ever be, adding Spencer shouldn’t come running to her when whatever he was doing blew up in his face. Chelsey/Franco told Elizabeth he loved her and advised her to trust herself. Finn and Laura entered in the middle of ‘Franco’s spirit using Chelsey as his vessel.’ Laura suggested Elizabeth go visit her boys at the Collins house because they missed her. After Laura and Elizabeth left, Finn accused Chelsey of lying to a vulnerable woman. Chelsey smiled and said she wasn’t the one lying to Elizabeth. Ryan said Esme was just like her mother when his daughter said she’d turn him in if it meant protecting herself. He said she had inherited self preservation from her mother. He thought about a time when he had a violent altercation with Felicia. Willow asked Michael whether he was sure he wanted to cut Sonny (Maurice Benard) out of his life. Drew and Carly came to GH so she could get Nina’s glass and Willow’s toothbrush tested for DNA. Drew reminded if Willow turned out to be Nina’s daughter, she’d feel guilty if Michael took things too far. Carly promised to do the right thing if the DNA proved a mother daughter connection between Nina and Willow. Ryan told Esme after they got what they wanted they’d make all their enemies pay. Chelsey told Finn he’s the one who needed to tell Elizabeth the truth. “Who do I see about getting a DNA test?” Carly asked Britt.

Friday

Carly (Laura Wright) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) were at Marta & Chloe for a day of mother daughter pampering. Sam and Dante arrived at the gatehouse. Dante told Willow the DNA test results came back. Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) got Leo ready for his poem at the school fair. At Kelly’s, Valentin told Martin the Quartermaines called a meeting of ELQ. At GH, TJ told Jordan he needed her help finding a missing person: Marshall (Robert Gossett). Curtis (Donnell Turner) came to Crimson to see how Nina (Cynthia Watros) was holding up with the release of the article. “Why are you at war with your son?” Drew (Cameron Mathison) asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) when he made a comment about Michael. Dante told Willow the DNA test proved Harmony (Inga Candranel) wasn’t her biological mother. Ned (Wally Kurth) assured Olivia he wasn’t putting business ahead of family, he just wanted to make sure ELQ was available for Leo when he came of age. Josslyn commented how if the judge reads The Invader he’ll laugh at Nina’s petition. Sam left with Willow to take her to see Scout’s art at the school to get her off the DNA test. Nina assured Curtis she wasn’t going to let the article bring her down. Dante talked with Michael about Sonny. Drew tried to convince Sonny to be patient with Michael. Sonny asked Drew whether he knew something that could help him get his family back. Olivia brought Leo to Kelly’s where they ran into Martin and Valentin. While Martin took Leo to get a donut, Olivia let it slip to Valentin about the merger. Valentin told Martin if Drew and Michael plan to merge ELQ and Aurora shares that would leave Ned the odd man out so he had to get him on his side. TJ found a receipt for a music store in the clarinet case and decided to go to Brooklyn to track Marshall down. Sam reminded Willow she had to be ready for wherever the truth took her. Michael told Drew he’d tear Sonny down and make the Corinthos name mean something. Sonny told Drew if Michael wanted to escalate a family disagreement he’d have to answer the consequences.
