A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) returned to her house. She told him she owed him a pair of shoes. While Anna thought they failed because Lucy (Lynn Herring) refused to leave with them. But Valentin called it a win because they boarded and got off The Haunted Star undetected. And they were together. Ava (Maura West) opened the envelope. “What is this?” she asked Nikolas (Marcus Coloma). He told her she now had his life in her hands. She read the letter. It was a confession that he killed Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). At The Metro Court Bar, Cody (Josh Kelly) watched Mac (John J. York), Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Robert (Tristan Rogers). Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) was dressed to the nines and told Terry (Cassandra James) she had another date with Cody. Finn (Michael Easton) entered to talk with Terry. Cody called Britt and suggested a change of plans that they go bowling instead. Britt told Cody either they stick to the original plan and have dinner at The Metro Court or she’d go home alone. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison) came to Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) garage and found Dex (Evan Hofer) standing over Diane (Carolyn Henessey). Valentin told Anna he made so made so many selfish mistakes in his life, adding her wants to be better man for Charlotte and if that meant murdering his own father…so be it. Mac and Robert left The Metro Court when DA Scorpio received a text about another stabbing. Gregory ordered Dex to stay away from Diane. But Dex said he was trying to help and had called 911. Both Anna and Valentin admitted they’d kill the other if it meant saving their children. Mac arrived at the garage and questioned Dex. He warned either Dex answered his questions there or at the PCPD. Dex was insistent he wasn’t answering any questions without an attorney present. Felicia came over and joined Cody and Britt at the bar. She wrote down Mac’s private cell phone number on a napkin and said if there were answers he seeked it was better he call her husband. Diane was wheeled into the ER of GH. Ava asked Nikolas to record his confession. She pulled out her cellphone and he made the confession, turning it into a passionate speech about making the mistake of putting his marriage in jeopardy by sleeping with his son’s girlfriend. Ava was holding out on forgiving her husband. But Nikolas was confident they’d be together again. Before leaving, he left her a chocolate truffle. Dex was taken to the station for questioning. When the anti-verum arrived, Finn told Terry he was performing a syringe, determined to save Diane’s life. Anna and Valentin began making love.

Tuesday

Sonny (Maurice Benard) gave Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) a cup of tea while Nina (Cynthia Watros) asked Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) whether she got any sleep. Sofia answered no because every time she closed her eyes all she saw was Brando (Johnny Wactor) in that hospital bed. Jordan (Tanisha Harper) interrupted Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brooke Kerr) at GH and told Portia she needed her help to find a killer. At the PCPD interrogation room, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) questioned Dex (Evan Hofer). Carly (Laura Wright) spoke with Olivia on the phone. After she hung up, Carly opened the door and was surprised to see Drew (Cameron Mathison) standing there holding a six pack of beer. “Did someone order room service?” he asked with a smile. Rory (Michael Kruse), Trina (Tabyana Ali), Cameron (William Lipton) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) were on a double date. Josslyn told Trina she was glad she was with Rory and in a non-complicated relationship…something she deserved. They decided to have a hatchet throwing competition. Drew told Carly how he ended up in Jacksonville and said he didn’t just come to tell her about Brando. Carly received a text telling her that her injunction to stop the cemetery moving was denied because she’s not a Florida resident. But as the owner of a multi media conglomerate, Drew said he could use the power of the press. Sonny received a call from Alexis (Nancy Grahan) about Diane and rushed to GH. The hatchet competition had the two highest scorers Rory and Josslyn facing off. Jordan told Portia because Diane survived the attack the assailant would make sure the next victim wasn’t so lucky. Jordan called Rory and told him about the attack and possible suspect Dex being questioned. She asked him to guard Diane Miller. Gladys told Sasha once she married Brando they became family. Sasha was upset when there was a problem with her account and the funeral home refused to release Brando’s body. Nina offered to pay. Sasha wondered what she’d do now that her guardian Brando was gone. Carly was touched when Drew showed her the video he made before he left Port Charles of Avery and Donna saying they missed her. Carly suggested he stay in her hotel room and sleep on the sofa. Sonny came to the PCPD. Dante asked Sonny how well he knew Dex. Since he wasn’t under arrest, Dex left with Sonny. Rory told Trina, Cameron and Josslyn about Diane’s attack. He didn’t give her a name but Josslyn knew he was talking about Dex when Rory said the police were questioning someone who’d been at all three attacks. Trina told Cameron she was angry with him for keeping Spencer’s (Nikolas Chavez) secret. But thinking about Josslyn not telling Cameron about her dumpster diving with Dex, Trina knew how it felt to be caught between two people you care about. Portia stormed into Jordan’s office to confront her about the talk she had with Curtis about keeping secrets. When they were in the car, Dex thanked his boss for bringing him home. Sonny said they had a stop to make first.

Wednesday

Portia (Brooke Kerr) accused Jordan (Tanisha Harper) of trying to make Curtis (Donnell Turner) doubt her. Jordan countered by saying if Curtis doubted Portia it was because of something she was doing. Ava (Maura West) tried to walk down the corridor but needed Curtis’ help getting to the bench. He told Ava about Diane’s (Carolyn Henessey) stabbing. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) walked in on Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Austin (Roger Howarth) kissing. Cody (Josh Kelly) arrived and told Spinelli he was there to see Maxie Jones. When he addressed her as sis, Maxie wrongly assumed Mac (John J. York) spoke with him. At GH, Sam (Kelly Thiebauld) and Michael (Chad Duell) waited for word on Diane’s condition. Dex (Evan Hofer) was hung up on a meat hook in a freezer. Sonny (Maurice Benard) warned Dex it was a mistake for not taking him seriously. Jordan asked Portia whether Curtis was Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) father. Portia didn’t answer but instead asked Jordan to admit she wanted Curtis back. Curtis scolded Trina for coming to GH alone with a killer on the loose. But she wasn’t alone, Taggert (Real Andrews) appeared after parking the car. Trina helped Ava back to her room where she told her about Cameron (William Lipton) knowing about Spencer’s (Nicholas Chavez) plan. She also talked about how Curtis treats her like she’s twelve. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) arrived at the PCPD and told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) she heard information that could help the case. She told him how she heard metal jingling sounds. Sonny had his guy punch Dex in the gut. When he didn’t get the answers he wanted, Sonny introduced Dex to Carver, someone who came highly recommended to get answers by any means necessary. Spinelli arrived at GH and waited with Sam after Michael left. They talked about his feelings for Maxie. Spinelli admitted he was the matchmaker behind Society Setups. Curtis came to Ava’s room and asked her to fire Trina, explaining Trina needs to stay away from Ava in case the killer tried to get her again. Jordan told Portia she couldn’t marry Curtis if she was keeping Trina’s paternity a secret. Michael came to see Sonny and asked whether he was dealing with Dex his way because he thought he was guilty. “It sounds to me like you’re going to go to Curtis with your suspicions. Is that what you’re going to do Jordan?” Portia asked. Ava finished a call and told Curtis it was done. Curtis said the important thing was keeping Trina safe. Spinelli told Sam he was the owner of Society Setups and could go to prison if anyone found out. Trina returned back to Ava’s hospital room. Ava told her she couldn’t be her boss anymore. Sonny asked Michael what was Dex to him. Carver told Dex he’d enjoy being slow getting answers from him.

Thursday

Jordan (Tanisha Harper) told Portia (Brooke Kerr) it was up to her to tell Curtis (Donnell Turner) the truth if Trina (Tabyana Ali) is his daughter. Marshall (Robert Gossett) told Curtis that Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) got her a job providing music therapy to the patients. Ava (Maura West) told Trina she had to close the gallery because she was a target and needed to keep herself and Trina safe. Maxie (Kristen Storms) told Cody (Josh Kelly) he’d be lucky if Mac (John J. York) was his father. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) told Sam (Kelly Thiebauld) he could end up in Federal Prison. Sonny (Maurice Benard) questioned Michael’s (Chad Duell) concern for Dex (Evan Hofer). Carver told Dex he had the instruments to make him talk. Portia warned Jordan people could be hurt if her theory was made public. Ava told Trina she got her another internship with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Murphy Katz Fellowship. Felica (Kristina Wagner) took Mac to Maxie’s. He was surprised to see Cody there. Curtis told Marshall how he and Jordan were still married. Ava told Trina she had Curtis to thank for the fellowship. Frank came in and suggested Carver take a break. Cody told Mac how he thought he was trying to nail him for the attacks until he found out he was involved with his mother Dominique Stanton. At GH, Mason told Austin (Roger Howarth) it was time for him to do the heavy lifting for the family. Jordan urged Portia not to repeat her mistakes. Portia told Jordan to stay out of her business. Michael told Sonny not to target some eager wannabe and let the real killer hurt someone else he claims to care about. Spinelli told Sam how after breaking up with Ellie and Jason’s death, he took an interest in dating sites and created Society Setups. He explained about his algorithm and how he widened his net to include people not members of Society Setups. Sam said Spinelli was screwed and needed to shut Society Setups down when she learned he had hacked into every computer system by breaking every firewall. Maxie and Felicia told Cody he could do worse than being a part of their family. Cody was guarded about finding out. Trina told Curtis she couldn’t accept the internship because he didn’t ask her first. She reminded she was a sophomore in college and responsible for her own decisions. After Trina walked away, Curtis told Portia he hoped he hadn’t overstepped. Dante told Jordan he believed Josslyn’s good instincts Dex was innocent. Dex’s bonds loosen and he tried fightin off Carver, knocking the knife out his hands. Epiphany wheeled Ava into the hallway and Marshall played for her. Maxie told Cody there was a way to find out whether they were father and son but they’d both had to agree. If they did, it was time for a DNA test. After speaking with Josslyn who insisted Dex was innocent, Sonny told Carver to hang tight while he did some fact checking. After Sonny left, Carver told Dex he may have gotten a reprieve but he’d be back.

Friday

Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) crushed her ice coffee when Chase (Josh Swickward) answered the door shirtless. Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) woke up basking in their recent love making. Victor (Charles Shaughnessey) visited Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) at Pentonville and was shocked by his disheveled appearance. At GH, Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) warned Finn (Michael Easton) it would cost him for interfering with things between him and his wife. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) came to Ava’s (Maura West) hospital room as she was packing to leave. At The Metro Court, Nina (Cynthia Watros) asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) whether he had an idea who the killer was. Spencer told Victor the difficulties he’s had with other prisoners since he’s been inside. Nikolas told Finn he stepped up and gave Elizabeth an alibi because she couldn’t remember where she was. But Finn countered saying Nikolas was only protecting himself. Ava thanked Elizabeth for telling the truth about Nikolas’ alibi. Nina and Sonny talked about how Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) were faring since Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) death. Chase helped Brook Lynn clean up the spilled coffee and offered to make her some more. She reminded he couldn’t have any because caffeine was good for his vocal cords. Brook Lynn wanted to make sure Chase was ready for his performance tonight. Valentin received a text from Charlotte and told Ann his daughter couldn’t understand why he hadn’t visited. Anna assured him they’d bring Victor down so Charlotte could come home. Victor commented how Spencer hasn’t asked about his father. Finn and Nikolas almost came to blows and had to be pulled apart by Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison). While Alexis dragged Nikolas away, Finn admitted to his father that despite Cassadine’s faults, Nikolas cared for Elizabeth. Elizabeth told Ava she’s only seen Nikolas be in love twice so she shouldn’t give up on him. Selina (Lydia Look) offered Sonny her condolences over the death of his cousin. She also invited him to sit in on a poker game. Anna and Valentin came to The Metro Court dining room and was created by Nina. After she walked away, Valentin told Anna that Nina could be their way to get to Charlotte. Victor came to GH to check on Ava and told Niklolas it was time he acted like a father and visited his son because Spencer needed him. Elizabeth ran into Gregory and asked how well he knew Finn’s late wife Reeko. When Nikolas arrived with Victor to take her home, Ava announced she wasn’t going home with him and left with Nina. The guard left the library. Spencer was alone shelving books when another prisoner entered. He knocked a book out of Spencer’s hands and ordered Spencer to pick it up. Spencer said he should do it because he was responsible for it falling on the floor. The prisoner instead used the book to hit Spencer with, knocking him to the floor.
