A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

“I love you and the longer I stay quiet the worse the consequences if I speak up” Portia (Brooke Kerr) explained. Curtis (Donnell Turner) said honesty wasn’t a condition and he thought she knew that. “Clearly I do not know the woman I pledged my life to.” Trina (Tabyana Ali) took Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) to the Jerome Gallery saying it was one of her happiest places to be. Spencer said he wasn’t leaving her side now he knew Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) escaped. Mac (John J. York) told Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Laura (Genie Francis) if Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) was at Wyndemere, they’d have to rescue Ava (Maura West) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner). When Kevin (Also Lindstrom) arrived, Laura told her husband about the hostage situation at Wyndemere. She added that Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) told her Ryan was Esme’s father. Ryan told Ava and Felicia one of them was coming with him and one wasn’t leaving the room. Felicia reminded Ryan that Mac will figure out where she is. Heather (Alley Mills) stabbed Austin (Roger Howarth). Esme screamed. Laura told Mac and Jordan they had to come up with a plan since Ryan threatened Felicia’s life. Gregory (Gregory Harrison) entered Alexis’ (Nancy Grahan) office at The Invader and told her he couldn’t accept her job offer because PCU viewed it as a conflict of interest. Alexis received a call from Smoltz about the Spring Ridge escape. He followed it up with the information the escaped prisoners were Esme Prince, Heather Webber and Ryan Chamberlain. Alexis reviewed the letter The Hook sent her, analyzing the wording and made a discovery. Austin stumbled into the drawing room and fell to the floor. Esme and Heather entered the room. Ryan gave Heather the gun to keep on Ava and Felicia while he checked on Austin. Heather admitted to being the hook. Esme fainted and tried to run away when she woke up. Ryan told her she belonged to him. Felicia overpowered Ryan and Esme ran out of the room. Ava attempted to go for the hook but Ryan threatened to shoot her in the kneecap. Curtis asked Portia whether she ever planned to tell him Trina could be his daughter. Portia honestly said she wasn’t going to for fear of the repercussions of keeping the secret. Curtis recalled how she was the one who encouraged him to get to know his absentee father and now he and Marshall (Robert Gossett) have developed a relationship. Portia told Curtis how Jordan discovered the truth and was the one who told Stella (Vernee Watson). Curtis said he needed some time alone to think and wasn’t sure when he’d be back. Trina told Spencer about how Curtis could be her father. Spencer told Trina although her mother kept a secret from her, she knew her mother would always be there for her. Trina and Spencer shared their first kiss. Laura mapped out a way for the police to use the secret tunnels to Wyndemere. Mac and Jordan moved out. After they left, Alexis appeared on Pier 55 looking for Jordan. After Alexis agreed what she was told was off the record, Laura told her about the hostage situation on Wyndemere. Alexistold Laura she knew who the hook killer was. Ryan took off to find Esme and told Heather to watch Ava but she could do what she wanted with Felicia. Heather told Ava and Felicia they could leave. But said Ava may want to stay to find out how Ryan plotted to ruin her life. Ryan found Esme. She told him her water broke…she was in labor.

Tuesday

Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) shared their first kiss. “Don’t stop,” Trina said and they kissed again. Shameeka was surprised to see Curtis (Donnell Turner) at The Savoy because it was his wedding night. He told her he’d explain later, then grabbed a bottle from the bar and started drinking shots. Shameeka called someone to ask them to come. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) told Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) that Heather Webber (Alley Mills) was the hook killer. Ava asked Heather how Ryan ruined her life locked up from prison. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) told Ryan (also Lindstrom) to stay away from her. Curtis thought about Trina while continuing to drink shots when Marshall (Robert Gossett) entered. Spencer told Trina how he couldn’t stay away from her because she meant so much to him. Alexis explained how she tracked down the old school typewriter the killer used to write the letter she was sent and Heather had access to it. Kevin commented how that was why they all broke out together. “It was a family affair.” Ryan told Esme he was a doctor and was the only one he could help her. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) went to take care of Austin (Roger Howarth) when he started moaning on the floor. Ava wanted to hear what Heather had to say. Marshall told Curtis he wasn’t leaving until his son told him why he wasn’t on his honeymoon. Alexis was shocked when Kevin told her Ryan and Heather were Esme’s parents. Ryan told Esme she worshiped the ground he walked on until she lost her memory and dreamed of the life they (he, she and Ava) would share together. Esme said she saw how Ava looked at him…she despises him. Ryan laughed, hate was the other side of love. Heather gave Ava the gun. Felicia wanted them to leave and call 911 for Austin. But Ava said “Heather may be delusional but she’s right about one thing” adding Ryan must be stopped. Then, she left after Chamberlain. Curtis told Marshall how Portia had been lying to him that Trina could be his daughter. Spencer told Trina he didn’t want their first time to be in a gallery. Plus, she’s hurting and making love would only temporarily dull her pain. Kevin believed Esme’s memory loss makes her as much of Ryan’s victim. Mac (John J. York), Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and the police arrived. A cop read Heather her Miranda Rights. Austin told Jordan it was Heather who stabbed him. Heather said the hook didn’t have any venom on it. “What does Ryan want with Esme?” Felicia asked. Heather dropped the bombshell Ryan was Esme’s daddy. Curtis told Marshall how Portia kept the secret from everyone who mattered, asking how could she do that? Marshall reminded he kept a secret for over forty years. Spencer told Trina he knew where she could go. Kevin and Laura left Pier 55 for Wyndemere. Mac asked Felicia to go back to the mainland with Austin and the paramedics. Austin asked Jordan to find Ava not wanting her to get hurt. “It’s Ryan who should be worried,” Heather said. Ryan told Ava that Esme was in labor about to deliver his grandchild. He proudly added how he got her into that boarding school so she’d meet Spencer. “I taught her everything she knows…I created her.” Ryan said Esme would bring them all together. But Ava warned if he came any closer, she’d kill him. Curtis said Marshall did what he did to protect his family but what Portia did was selfish. Marshall said after the way he walked out on her on her wedding night, Portia had a right to be scared. Curtis told Marshall some things are just unforgivable. Felicia told Alexis if she wanted information from Austin, she’d have to come to GH. Felicia left with Austin and the paramedic. Trina and Spencer appeared on Pier 55. Alexis told Spencer that Esme was at Wyndemere but wasn’t alone. Kevin and Laura arrived at Wyndemere and asked Heather whether she was Esme’s mother. “How could you miss it? She has my eyes” Heather asked with a smile. “You’ll keep taking unless somebody stops you” Ava said. Esme escaped while they talked. Ava asked how it felt to lose the most important thing to him then she shot him. Ava confessed to killing Nikolas (Adam Huss). Ryan said now there was nothing keeping them from being together. Marshall urged Curtis to go home to first let it hurt, then let it heal. But whatever he decided, Marshall was there for him. With tears in his eyes, Curtis hugged and thanked his dad. Alexis told Spencer that Esme was on Spoon Island with her biological parents. Esme returned to the house and ran into Laura’s arms. Ryan told Ava there was nothing stopping them from being together ‘til death do us part. Ava repeated the words as her finger inched closer to the trigger.

Wednesday

Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) rushed into Wyndemere and ran into Laura’s (Genie Francis) arms. She announced she was in labor. Portia (Brooke Kerr) spoke with her brother Zeke and told him she was fine and thanked him for not judging her. There was a knock on the door. She thought it was Curtis (Donnell Turner) but when she opened the door, Portia faced Taggert (Real Andrews). Finn (Michael Easton) brought Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) home. She thought he was sticking close because he was afraid she’d turn herself in tonight. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) was with Austin (Roger Howarth) at GH. He was worried the police would mistakenly shoot Ava (Maura West) because she had a gun. Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) said he knew Esme wasn’t faking about not knowing the identity of her mother. Jordan (Tanisha Harper) requested paramedics be called because Ms. Prince was in labor. Ava pulled the trigger but the chamber was empty. “You’re right about one thing. You’re not done with me yet” Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) told Ava. Portia thought Taggert was there to read her the riot act. Spencer told Trina and Alexis he dangled the identity of Esme’s mother over her head when Trina was on trial. “Heather Webber’s not just Esme’s mother, she’s the hook killer” Alexis (Nancy Grahan) told Spencer and Trini. Kevin said they didn’t have time to get to GH. “This baby’s coming now”. Heather warned it was a trap to lock her up and take her baby. Felicia commented to Austin she hadn’t realized he and Ava had gotten so close. “We’re alike you and I. We belong together.” He walked to her and tried to kiss her. Ava screamed as a shot rang out. Ryan fell to the ground. Mac stood holding his weapon. Finn couldn’t believe Elizabeth wouldn’t wait until morning. He received a call about another hook attack and had to get to the hospital. He asked her not to make any rash decisions tonight. Mac walked over to check Ryan. “It had to be you,” Ryan said, then died. Jordan arrived and radioed the suspect was down. Jordan confirmed Ryan was dead. Mac gave Jordan information about what happened. Jordan told Ava to go to GH to get checked out. “What’s most important is that he won’t take any more prisoners. Ryan Chamberlain’s reign of terror is over” Mac told Ava. Trina couldn’t believe Esme’s crazy mother was the hook killer. Kevin went to wash up before examining Esme, who didn’t want Heather there. She said Laura could stay because she’s the baby’s grandmother. “So am I” Heather said, announcing she was Esme’s mother. “I’m more family than she will ever be.” Taggert told Portia he wouldn’t have loved Trina any less if he found out she wasn’t his, adding she should have told him from the start. Trina was relieved when Ava appeared on Pier 55. Ava told them Ryan Chamberlain was dead. The cop took Ava to GH. Spencer told Trina to go with Ava. He said he’d be okay…Alexis would take care of him. Esme couldn’t accept Heather committing mass murder in the name of protecting her. “You will never meet this baby. Not now, not ever” Esme said as Heather was dragged out shouting “I will always be your mother.” Kevin returned to help with the birth. Taggert told Portia he could understand why she did what she did. Taggert told Portia how Trina’s now questioning their bond. “But let’s get one thing perfectly clear. I am Trina’s dad. Point. Blank. Period.” Finn checked on Austin’s condition. Felicia was glad to see Ava was okay. Ava told Felicia how Ryan was coming after her. “It was Mac who stopped him. Felicia, Ryan is dead.” Emotional, Felica hugged Ava as tears of relief flowed. Scott asked Elizabeth whether she lost her mind when she told him about helping Nikolas (Adam Huss) keep Esme hostage at Wyndemere. Taggert told Portia him, she and Trina were a family. Heather was dragged in protest on Pier 55. “You were next” Heather told Spencer before being taken away. When Jordan told him Esme was in labor, Spencer said he knew Wyndemere was a crime scene but he had to get on that island. Kevin, the paramedic and Laura urged Esme to push one last time. Although tired, she mustered up strength to do so. Soon, the baby cried. Esme asked whether her baby was okay. “There’s nothing Nikolas can do for me,” Ava told Trina. Spencer was glad to see Laura was okay and asked about Esme. “You have a new little brother” Laura told Spencer who looked at Esme cradling her son. Mac returned to Wyndemere. “I had no choice, Kevin…Ryan’s dead. It could have been Felicia. It could have been anyone.” Kevin asked Mac to show him. Portia cried to Taggert that she may have lost Trina forever. Trina told Ava with the hook being caught for the first time in a long time she didn’t have to worry about who was hiding in the shadows. Alexis arrived at GH and asked Finn about Austin. Finn told her he was worried about his friend who made a decision. “Elizabeth I will do everything in my power to get you out of this mess.” Scott said. Kevin and Felicia looked at Ryan’s dead body. “I hope you find peace in the next life brother” Kevin said. “He looks like a Cassadine” Spencer said, touching his new little brother’s head. Esme asked Spencer to tell his father about the baby because she couldn’t find him. “That makes two of us” Spencer said to Laura’s look. Ava came to see Austin. But the nurse wouldn’t let her in saying Mr. Gatlin-Holt needed his rest.

Thursday

Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) returned from Devon, England. Sasha (Sofia Mattesson) arrived at the PCPD to see Heather (Alley Mills) before she was transferred to Pentonville. Dex (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) woke up in bed. Sonny (Maurice Bernard) came to see Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) At GH, Nina (Cynthia Watros) overheard Drew (Cameron Mathison) talking with a nurse about completing paperwork now that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) now that Willow was gone and panicked. Carly (Laura Wright) welcomed Willow home. Sonny told Brook Lynn things are further between he and Michael than they ever were. Michael thanked his mother for taking care of the kids and said he needed a miracle to save Willow’s life. Drew said he meant Willow checked out when he said she was gone because she wanted to spend the time she had left with her family. Nina was relieved. Dex and Josslyn admitted what they felt for each other wasn’t casual anymore. Sasha lied to the desk sergeant she was Heather Webber’s lawyer and needed to confer with her client. When the desk sergeant walked away, Sasha told Cody (Josh Kelly) she planned to make Heather pay for killing her husband. Nina thought it better for Willow to stay in GH. When she blamed Carly for keeping her from getting to know her daughter, Drew said Nina had no one to blame but herself. When Heather was brought into the interrogation room, Sasha asked to speak with her client alone. Heather pretended she experienced moments of forgetfulness. Cody came to Sam and Dante’s and told them what Sasha was up to and asked for Dante’s help without getting Sasha into trouble for pretending to be a lawyer. After Dante left, Sam told Cody about the curse of The Ice Princess. Willow expressed her worry to Carly about not telling Wiley the truth she’s dying. Carly said Wiley was too young to understand. Nina said Drew was as self righteous as Carly and will deserve what he got. Michael came over and told Sonny nothing has changed between them. Sonny warned Michael he tried and wouldn’t be responsible for the fall out. Josslyn overheard Dex talking about the Pipeman deal and federal charges if he were arrested. Dex admitted he was hired through a private security firm by a client who wanted him to infiltrate Sonny’s organization and bring him down. But Dex said he wouldn’t turn over any evidence he got against Sonny if Josslyn didn’t want him to, leaving the decision up to her. When Dante entered the interrogation room, Sasha told him how Heather was trying to use an insanity plea. Sasha vowed she’d be the prosecution’s star witness and would tell the jury about Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) last moments before Heather killed him. Then, Sasha intends to try Heather in the court of public opinion by going on every television show and podcast that had a platform and would make sure Heather was locked up for the rest of her life. Sasha left. Alone with Dante, Heather told Detective Falconieri “I’m ready to confess.”

Friday

At GH, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) held her son when Heather (Alley Mills) entered. “You shouldn’t be here,” Esme said. “I’m your mother, where else would I be?” Heather said vowing to spoil her grandson rotten. Esme woke up from her nightmare. Laura (Genie Francis) entered the room and asked Esme whether she was okay. Esme asked where Heather was and begged Laura not to let Heather take her baby. Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) looked at his new little brother and told Sonny (Maurice Benard) he may not have to go through with suing Esme for custody now that his father has disappeared. At GH, Mac (John J. York) questioned Ava (Maura West) why she was so interested in seeing Austin (Roger Howarth) and why he was at Spoon Island. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Dex (Evan Hofer) the decision to give evidence to his employer wasn’t up to her.Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) thought about confessing her crimes to Scott (Kin Shriner) when Cameron (William Lipton) entered. Robert (Tristan Rogers) congratulated Jordan (Tanisha Harper) for catching the hook killer. Scott arrived and told Robert he was about to make his job easier. “I don’t want a lawyer. I only want to unburden my soul” Heather said. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) put on a recorder to tape Heather’s statement. She said she had one condition. Cameron told his mother if Heather is Esme’s mother, that made her Franco’s (also Howarth) half sister. He wondered whether she could be faking her memory loss. Josslyn commented how Sonny was good to her when she was a little girl before she found out about his business. Spencer said leaving proved his father didn’t care about the baby. Esme thanked Laura for helping her bring her baby into the world. “I just realized I have a son,” Esme said. Laura asked whether she should see her baby. Esme said it wasn’t safe because her parents were serial killers…what if she was too? Heather gave information about all the hook attacks, including Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), much to Dante and Jordan’s surprise. Mac and Ava talked about Esme being Heather’s daughter. Heather told Dante and Jordan that she was only trying to protect her daughter. Robert told Scott if his client was an accomplice of the hook killer he should encourage them to turn themselves in. Cameron told his mother Josslyn wasn’t the person he thought she was. Josslyn reminded Dex how Sonny wouldn’t allow him to leave working for him. Spencer told Sonny his father had to come back now that he had a son. Esme commented to Laura with parents like Ryan and Heather, she had to be crazy too. And what if she went to prison? Laura reminded Esme she hasn’t stood trial yet. Heather told Dante and Jordan how Rory (Michael Kruse) ended up with the charm from Ryan’s keepsake of victims. She added she didn’t kill the Spring Ridge guard that was Ryan who also forced her and Esme to escape. Dex realized his only options were continuing to work for Sonny or leave town. “So as long as you stay in Port Charles, you’re trapped” Josslyn told Dex. Cameron told Elizabeth the way Josslyn hurt him makes him realize he never knew her at all. “My client got involved in a crime that was already in progress,” Scott told Robert, wanting to hear the deal Robert could offer for his client’s testimony. Ava told Spencer how Ryan sent Esme to that school in France. “Think about it? Who’s idea was it to come to Port Charles…was it yours or was in Esme?” Mac took Esme’s statement about what happened on Spoon Island. Esme told Mac that Ryan and Heather were planning the escape together. But it was Heather who knew how to get in and out of Spring Ridge. Jordan told Heather that Ryan was dead. “It was Ryan…Ryan played us all” Ava told Spencer. Dante accused Heather of wanting Ryan dead…that’s why she gave Ava a gun. Heather told Jordan she gave Esme up because she wanted her to give her a better life. Heather said she could always recant. “Who would trust the word of a crazy person?” Sonny ran into Laura at GH. They talked about Spencer playing the big brother. Sonny said Heather killed his cousin Brando (Johnny Wactor) and it was a mistake going after his family. Sonny said he always protects his family. Dex and Josslyn explored his options. The best option was the original plan to give the evidence to his boss to give to the Feds. “No matter what happens, I can’t walk away from you” Dex told Josslyn. Elizabeth received a call and told Cameron she had to go. Spencer was sickened to realize he did Ryan’s dirty work and drove his father away. Esme called her baby Ace and wondered where that came from. Laura rushed off with Sonny when she got a call. Robert told Dante that Scott had a client that said knew what Esme was doing at the time she was missing. Josslyn told Dex she had to leave and see how Trina (Tabyana Ali) was doing.“I believe you know my client,”Scott said when Elizabeth arrived. “Elizabeth Baldwin?” Robert asked, surprised. “Because of me, my baby brother and I no longer have a father” Spencer told Laura sadly. Laura assured things would be okay with Nikolas. “Are you sure about this Esme?” Mac asked before the guard brought Heather in.
