A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) was at GH getting tests to help explain his no performance condition. While awaiting the doctor’s return, he ran into Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Mac (John J. York) picked up the paper Cody (Josh Kelly) dropped out of his pocket. “What’s this?” Mac asked. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) greeted Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura (Genie Francis) who were dining at The Metro Court. He told her had to deal with his brother’s remains today. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) brought Scout over to the Quartermaine mansion. She asked Drew (Cameron Mathison) where Carly (Laura Wright) was because she was always around. Nina (Cynthia Watros) commented to Ava (Maura West) the information they knew could end up in prison. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Carly how Dex (Evan Hofer) would do anything to get out of Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) organization. Dex pushes Sonny to the floor when he spotted a sniper. Sonny exchanged gunfire. Josslyn told Carly how Dex had something in the works but wouldn’t share details. Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) entered with Donna, who had an earache. Carly said she’d go to GH and pick up a prescription, adding she’d wish she could help fix Josslyn’s problems so easily. Ava reminded Nina that people go to prison for insider trading. Laura and Felicia decided they had to bring their husbands into what they’ve been up to. Cody lied the paper was regarding him donating plasma because he was short on cash. Mac offered to help put him in touch with people to get an additional job. Dante entered the stables. Before Mac left, Cody suggested he talk with his friend. Dex said he’d cover Sonny so he could make it to the exit. Sonny was able to get out. But it looked like Dex was hit. Bobbie told Josslyn how Maxie roped her into helping her revive the Nurses Ball, which will honor GH’s 60th anniversary and those who worked there they’ve lost. She asked about Cameron (William Lipton) and Josslyn performing at the Nurses Ball. Elizabeth told Victor about her immunity deal and urged him to get a good lawyer. Carly came to Liz’s rescue when Victor grabbed Elizabeth by the arm. After Victor walked away, Elizabeth told Carly about helping Nikolas (Adam Huss). Carly commented how if she was in the same place, she might have done the same thing. But Carly told Elizabeth she had to learn who to put her trust in. Josslyn told Bobbie how she and Cameron were growing apart. Sonny took out the sniper and Dex thanked him for coming back. The doctor told Victor he found something in his blood work. He told him he was getting Dr. Finn (Michael Easton) to consult because it was a pathogen. Carly gave Elizabeth the picture she kept of Jeff and Carolyn knowing Liz may have regretted throwing it away. Carly told Elizabeth although they weren’t friends but respected each other and asked her to come to her the next time she struggled with a difficult decision. Ava gave Nina her cell phone with the number of the SEC. But knowing how much support Carly provided to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and after speaking with Drew who urged Nina to take care of herself, Nina decided not to call the SEC. Drew met with Laura who told him she couldn’t sell him Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) ELQ shares. Cody told Dante he didn’t deserve Mac. Making his friend promise to take the secret he was about to share with him to the grave, Cody handed Dante his DNA test results. Dante read it “So Mac really is your father.” Felicia gave Mac and Kevin a moment alone. Kevin told Mac that Ryan may have been his brother through birth, but Mac was his brother in every way that mattered. Sonny checked the condition of the sniper.

Tuesday

Sonny (Maurice Benard) demanded to know who the wounded sniper worked for. Mac (John J. York) told Felicia (Kristina Wagner) how good it was visiting with Cody (Josh Kelly) “Until it wasn’t.” Dante asked Cody whether the first DNA test that said Mac wasn’t his father was wrong. “Not exactly,” Cody answered. Victor (Charles Saughnessy) told Finn (Michael Easton) now that he was able to identify the pathogen, he could get rid of it as soon as possible. Drew (Cameron Mathison) asked whether there was another reason Laura (Genie Francis) wanted to hold on to the ELQ shares. Anna (Finola Hughes) told Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) they could plant false codes in the redacted report they give to Victor to see where it led them. “Without me the Nurses Ball is going to go down in flames” Lucy (Lynn Herring) said, telling Anna and Valentin she had to leave. Carly (Laura Wright) arrived at the Quartermaine mansion for the Nurses Ball committee meeting. “The Nurses Ball needs a new home” Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) told Carly when she entered the house. “And if we don’t find one soon, the Nurses Ball is not happening” Maxie (Kristen Storms) added. Finn explained a pathogen isn’t easy to treat but added it wasn’t invasive and hasn’t set to other organs. “The pathogen has a mission..one it has achieved” Finn told Victor. Dante questioned Cody about saying he didn’t deserve to have Mac in his life. He asked Cody why he lied about the first DNA test when he said Mac was his father. Mac told Felicia how Cody clammed up when they got to talking, reasoning Cody was always on the outside looking in so that’s why he was looking for the next pay day. Drew realized when Laura said it was too soon it was because Valentin recently died. “Whatever happens to Valentin’s shares isn’t up to me,” Laura said. Lucy is upset and disappointed because she’s been the Mistress of Ceremonies since the 90s but instead she’s stuck there with Anna and Valentin. Lucy walked out of the room. Anna commented she’s not the only one who’s sad about not being at the Nurses Ball this year. Carly realized in order to have the Nurses Ball at The Metro Court, they needed the agreement of Olivia’s (Lisa LoCierco). “I need you to make sure that guy stays alive. At least until I get some answers” Sonny told the mob doctor who entered the warehouse with Brick (Stephen A. Smith). But the doctor told Sonny the sniper was already gone. Sonny asked the doctor to help Dex (Evan Hofer). Mac told Felicia how Cody told him he was selling his plasma for extra cash, adding he’s seen Cody with Selina Wu (Lydia Look) on more than one occasion. Cody told Dante how he initially pursued Britt (Kelly Thiebauld) when he learned she was Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) daughter but then developed feelings for her. Cody was annoyed Serena gave away half of his birthright to save the whales, adding he liked whales and dolphins too. “But right now they’re doing financially better than me. That necklace was supposed to be my shot Dante.” “You lied to Mac, you deceived Britt…maybe Sam was right about you” Dante said. Finn said Victor couldn’t have gotten the pathogen from being in contact with anyone. “Then how do I get it?” Victor asked. “Do you have any enemies?” Finn answered the question with a question. Anna said she wished Lucy could trust Maxie and Bobbie. “The show will go on…the Nurses Ball is bigger than all of us.” “I wish I could save you from having to involve Nina” Carly told Maxie and her mother. “Oh Carly…what are you trying to keep from me this time?” Nina asked when she arrived with soup for the sick Olivia. The doctor told Dex he was lucky. Then, the doctor left. Sonny asked Brick to find out who hired the shooter. Brick told Sonny the only thing the dead shooter had on him was a key fob and a matchbook. Sonny told Brick it was okay to let Dex look at the matchbook. He saw it had the logo of The Highsider. Sonny knew that was the biker bar. “You might just be useful after all,” Brick said. “You have no idea…the kid saved my life,” Sonny added. Maxie told Nina they wanted to use the ballroom at The Metro Court and needed her consent as co-owner. When Drew entered, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told him it was like a gladiator match in there. Felicia commented how there was something about Cody that felt close. Dante encouraged Cody to fess up and give Mac full transparency. Finn told Victor he digested the pathogen through something he ate or drank in November or December. Finn added there was no cure. Sonny asked Dex and Tony to get rid of the sniper’s body. “I’m tired of looking at it.” But suddenly, Dex passed out. Sonny told Dex to hydrate because he lost a lot of blood. “You’re no good to me down for the count.” Sonny told Dex he was taking him home. “I’m not taking you to your place. I’m taking you to my place.” Cody realized Dante was right…he couldn’t tell Mac about the second test without admitting he lied about the first one. He decided not to tell Mac, saying he’d be better off without him. Laura came to Mac and Felicia’s table at The Metro Court. Mac told her he and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) were good. Victor entered and asked for the top shelf whiskey. Mac approached Cassadine and asked why he’d been avoiding his officers who had been trying to contact him about the disappearance of his nephew Nikolas (Adan Huss). Valentin felt guilty because if it weren’t for his father, Anna would be a part of the Nurses Ball. Lucy returned to the room and said she needed the Nurses Ball to be special. “It will be. Despite all the glitz and glamor, it’s the mission that’s important to be celebrated” Anna said, adding life is going on without them. Maxie and Bobbie reluctantly said they wanted Nina’s help. Maxie added they are the four most capable women she knew. “As long as we work together, we can achieve anything.” Nina asked to speak with Carly alone. Bobbie asked Drew to give them the shirt off his back by participating in Magic Milo and the Magic Wands. Nina told Carly it wasn’t about their privacy. “It’s about Willow’s.” Brick told Sonny and Drew the sniper’s weapon was untraceable, meaning Sonny had a very powerful enemy. Nina told Carly and Drew (when he entered) she had a conversation with her daughter who agreed to give her health updates. Dante urged Cody he could be embraced by Mac’s family if he told the truth. Victor insisted he didn’t have a clue where his nephew was, suggesting he contact his attorney if he had any more questions. When he noticed Laura sitting with Felicia, Victor walked over and said “It was you. It had to be you.” “Mac deserves the truth…do the right thing” Dante urged before leaving the Quartermaine stables. Cody felt doing nothing was the right thing. Victor warned Laura she stuck the first blow and now they both had a lot to lose. Anna reminded Lucy they were all in this mess because Lucy wouldn’t follow her orders, demanding Lucy follow her orders now and sit tight and zip it. Lucy left the room without a retort. “I think that went very well,” Anna told Valentin. “You’re no longer the gatekeeper of information. It would serve you well to have this in the back of your mind Carly. I know a lot more than you think I do” Nina said before leaving. Sonny vowed the agency that contracted the shooter would be very, very sorry.

Wednesday

Dex (Evan Hofer) answered a phone call from Josslyn (Eden McCoy), who asked where he was last night because she texted and he hadn’t answered. Dex said he had to go when he heard the front door. Sonny entered and asked who Dex was talking to. Cameron (William Lipton) smiled when Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Josslyn entered Kelly’s. At GH, Portia (Brooke Kerr) assured Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) she had her back as Nurse Webber faced the GH review board. Gregory (Gregory Harrison) met Finn (Michael Easton) and Chase (Josh Swickward) at The Metro Court dining room. But was distracted when he spotted Alexis (Nancy Grahan) across the room. Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura (Genie Francis) came to visit Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) at Spring Ridge. “You can’t be here. I gave Esme my word” Laura said when she saw Spencer (Nicholas Chavez). Spencer said he hated making her a liar but wasn’t going anywhere. “Thanks for coming” Esme smiled while greeting Kevin and Laura then she noticed Spencer “What’s he doing here?” Gregory told his sons how Alexis treated him like he was under investigation. Dex lied and said he answered a spam call to tell them not to call him again. He asked about Spencer. Sonny said Spencer left this morning and he had no idea where he went. Laura assured Esme that Spencer came on his own. She pulled her grandson aside and asked him to leave, reminding him she needed Esme to trust her. “This is not over,” Spencer told Esme before leaving. Esme thanked Laura for being a person of her word. Cameron told Trina and Josslyn he had some news to share but would wait until Spencer came so he only had to say it once. Alexis and Gregory told their children what happened and why they were avoiding each other. Portia pulled Elizabeth into an office and told her how she lied to the person she loved most in the world…Trina. Cameron, Trina and Josslyn gossiped about another friend’s dating triangle. Until Cameron thought about finding Dex and Josslyn together. Spencers arrived and asked what Cameron had to tell them. Dex promised Sonny he’d co-exist with Spencer. Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) entered. “How bad is it?” Kristina asked when she commented on the beefed up security. Kristina told her father she had a business proposition for him. Esme asked Laura whether she was playing her to take Ace away from her. Elizabeth asked Portia whether Trina will have a DNA test. Kevin told Esme he hoped she’d consider him someone she could trust instead of seeing him as her father’s twin. Laura asked Esme whether she thought prison was the place to raise her son. When he told them he was leaving Port Charles because Stanford offered him a scholarship, Spencer called BS and asked Cameron the real reason. Laura suggested Esme ask her and Kevin to look after her son until she was able. Portia and Elizabeth had in common they both kept secrets they thought was for the best. Kristina told Sonny she wanted to open a restaurant. Sam (Kelly Monaco), Finn and Chase encouraged their parents to talk with each other. Sonny reminded Kristina starting a business for a twenty-four seven enterprise and suggested she think about it. He added he knew she could do it and was proud of her. Esme told Kevin and Laura there’s no one she’d trust more with her son. But it was complicated because when she looked at Kevin, she saw her father and when she looked at Laura, she saw Nikolas (Adam Huss) and Spencer. Alexis watched as Gregory stumbled and dropped his drink. Cameron told Josslyn he changed his mind and they could still be friends. But he warned her to stay away from Dex. Spencer returned to his Uncle Sonny’s and saw Dex standing there. Esme said they had to go back to her room when she saw Ace had fallen asleep. “No matter what anyone says, that girl loves that baby” Laura told Kevin who agreed. Alexis asked whether Gregory’s been drinking. Finn told Elizabeth he was there for her for whatever she needed as she faced the GH review board. Alexis asked Gregory whether he’d been drinking. Cameron pleaded with Josslyn to dump Dex as he was a part of the world she didn’t like. Sonny told Spencer he invited Dex to stay with them. Esme returned to the rec room looking for Ace’s pacifier. “Looking for this?” Trina asked, handing it to Esme.

Thursday

Sonny (Maurice Benard) reminded Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) he was his guest as was Dex (Evan Hofer), who left the room. Sonny reminded Spencer he wasn’t his enemy. Spencer apologized for his tone but added he was in a bad mood and Dex was the last person he needed to see right now. Josslyn assured Cameron he didn’t need to worry about her. Trina handed Esme the rattle. Esme said she knew who she was. Alexis asked Gregory why he was slurring his words. Liesl came over to Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) while awaiting the results of Liesl’s latest tests. Carly (Laura Wright) was so into Amelia Grace that she didn’t hear Maxie (Kristen Storms) asking for the list of vendors Carly used for the Nurses Ball. Chase (Josh Swickward) arrived at the Quartermaine mansion to see Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) and the baby. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase remembered Bailey at Amelia’s age. When Chase went in to see the baby, Maxie asked about the love fest she walked in on. Spencer told Sonny that Cameron was leaving to go to Stanford and how Josslyn dumped Cam for Dex. Alexis offered to drive Gregory to his appointment. Liesl wouldn’t take Scott’s (Kin Shriner) calls telling Nina that Scott chose Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) over her and her family. Nina gave her Aunt Liesl the advice to spend time with the people she loved. Before leaving, Sonny told Spencer he wanted him to lay off Dex because he wanted them to co-exist. Esme told Trina she hoped she’d never remember the person who did those horrible things. “I just want to be free so I can raise Ace,” Esme said. “Spencer’s baby brother,” Trina said. “He’s my baby not Spencer’s….Spencer can’t have him!” Esme said. Trina assured Esme that Spencer didn’t send her. “I wanted to see how you and the baby were doing for myself.” Trina asked Esme whether she thought prison was the best place to raise a baby. But Esme told Trina that Ace needed her and she needed him. Esme didn’t think it was fair to go to prison for something she didn’t remember doing. Spencer asked Dex why he was lying to his Uncle Sonny. Gregory gave Alexis his keys and said he’d call a car. “I never want to see you again,” Gregory told Alexis. Willow told Chase she had to keep the faith that Dr. Randolph would approve Liesl Obretch as a potential donor. Sonny arrived at Nina’s. Liesl received the call from the hospital. Esme asked Trina whether she passed the test to see whether she was lying. Trina admitted she came to judge for herself whether Esme was lying. Esme told Trina she wasn’t lying and didn’t have any memories of her life before this. “And I don’t think I ever will,” Esme said before walking away. Josslyn received a call from Trina who asked her and Cam to come to Sonny’s house because she had something to tell them and Spencer. After Maxie urged her to be honest with herself, Brook Lynn told Chase “I want you.” Carly supported Michael (Chad Duell) acknowledging it may be hard for him. “I can’t lose her….we can’t lose her. She has to be okay” Michael told his mother. Carly hugged her son. Spencer told Dex he was lying to Sonny about him and Josslyn sneaking around. “You’ve known Joss for a long time. Does she seem like the type of person who’d sneak around?” Dex asked Spencer. “No,” Spencer answered. Dex was surprised to answer the door to Cameron and Josslyn. Liesl told Nina and Sonny she’s going to be Willow’s bone marrow donor. “But there’s a problem,” she added. Alexis returned to the table at The Metro Court. She told Sam (Kelly Monaco) about Gregory appearing intoxicated and said maybe she never knew him. Josslyn was surprised when Spencer told her and Cameron his Uncle Sonny invited Dex to live there. Trina arrived and told them after going to see Esme and seeing how she acted with her baby, she planned to go to the DA to ask them to drop the charges. Brook Lynn told Chase she wanted him and Blaze to perform free of charge at the Nurses Ball. Liesl arrived and told Michael and Willow she was cleared to be her bone marrow donor. But the bone marrow transplant was put on hold. Sonny told Nina they couldn’t do the transplant until the medication Liesl was taking cleared her system. Nina said her daughter couldn’t wait…Willow needed a transplant now. Alexis told Sam that Gregory was furious with him, saying she was projecting her alcoholism onto others. Alexis believed something wasn’t right with Gregory. “Given my history, I’m telling you he’s hiding something.” Josslyn reminded Trina the DA wouldn’t drop the charges just because she asked. Spencer added Esme needed to pay for what she’s done. “That’s why she can’t be charged now,” Trina said. Esme dropped an envelope in fright when she saw Heather’s name on the envelope. When Nina asked about the extra security, Sonny reminded how she said she didn’t want to know anything about his business. Trina told Cameron, Josslyn and Spencer if Esme were tried while still suffering memory loss the jury could feel sorry for her and let her off. But if the DA waited and Esme got her memories back, she could be convicted and pay for her crimes. Cameron, Josslyn and Spencer were in agreement and said they were in. Chase held Brook Lynn’s hand when she said Willow and Michael couldn’t get any more bad news. Liesl apologized for the delay and said in full transparency she was with Nina and Sonny when she got the news so Nina knew. Willow asked Liesl to update the others at the Quartermaine mansion. “I’ll let you know what Blaze says about the Nurses Ball” Chase told Brook Lynn then left. Carly reminded Michael she was there if he needed to talk. Even if he weren’t drinking, Alexis knew Gregory was hiding something. Trina told Spencer she hoped she could convince Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) that Esme wasn’t a threat anymore. Esme picked up Heather’s letter, opened the envelope and started reading. “I’ll hang on for as long as necessary. My family gives me strength” Willow told Michael. Nina explained that she’s conflicted about knowing about his business. “I didn’t think I did but now I’m not so sure,” Nina told Sonny.

Friday

Lucy (Lynn Herrring) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) were playing chess when Laura (Genie Francis) knocked on the door. They were glad to see each other. Lynn asked Laura to tell her there was an end in sight to this nightmare. Eileen told Robert (Tristan Rogers) if she did what he wanted it could get her killed. Diane (Carolyn Hennesey) interrupted the conversation when she arrived at the DA’s office. “Because I’m about to make your day,” Diane said. Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) was given the news his condition was irreversible. Victor told the doctor he didn’t need anything to distract him from focusing on his family. Nina (Cynthia Watros) was happy when Phyllis arrived at her apartment. Carly (Laura Wright) brought Donna to visit her daddy and was surprised to see the extra security. When Sonny (Maurice Benard) said he wasn’t expecting her, Carly asked “Who were you expecting?” Laura filled Lucy and Valentin in on running into Victor at The Metro Court and how since he was losing control of his family, she didn’t think it would be too much longer. While Diane and Robert spoke, Eileen took a photo of documents in a file and the text Victor they needed to meet. Sonny introduced Donna to Dex. Carly noticed Dex flinching and gave Sonny a look. Lucy told Laura she didn’t want to watch the Nurses Ball on TV…she was the Nurses Ball and had to be there. Laura assured Maxie (Kristen Storms) that everything was under control. Laura knew Lucy was disappointed by adding “I have something that may make you feel better.” Eileen came to see Victor at GH and showed him the photo of the document she took on her cellphone. Nina showed Phyllis a photo of Amelia Grace she took on her cell phone. Sonny told Carly that Dex was staying with him because he was keeping an eye on him. Dex drew his gun when he heard someone in his apartment. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) called out from the other room. Dex told her she shouldn’t be there. Josslyn asked how he got hurt. Nina told Phyllis how unsure she was about being a part of Sonny’s world. Sonny told Carly he didn’t think it was a good idea for Donna to stay with him for a while, adding about the incident at the warehouse. Laura gave Lucy a letter from Martin. She decided to take a hot bath with her glass of champagne and read Martin’s words. Diane told Robert because now Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) was as sympathetic as seven fairy tale princesses rolled into one, he should drop the charges. Valentin told Laura he didn’t think it a good idea for him to bring Charlotte to see him. When Dex said his wound was just a crease, Josslyn asked him to take off his shirt. Victor commended Eileen on getting information the Ice Princess necklace was recovered from the fire and was being stored in a security evidence locker at the PCPD. Victor demanded she bring him the necklace. Robert agreed with Diane to put the charges against Esme aside, adding that didn’t mean they were taking their eyes off Esme Prince. Robert said he wanted to talk with all the victims involved. Diane suggested Robert work off his frustrations by going to the hatchet range. Victor spoke with someone on the phone and asked for an update on Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) condition. When Eileen told Robert that Victor brought it, Robert said it was onto Phase 2. Valentin told Laura with them working together, Victor’s days were numbered. While Victor drank at the bar, Lucy got off the elevator wearing her mousy librarian disguise. When Dex told her how Sonny saved his life, Josslyn commented how it sounded like he had simply for Sonny. Nina came to Sonny’s right after Sonny told Carly he’d make sure she and the kids were safe.
