A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Finn (Michael Easton), Violet (Jophelle Love) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison) returned home. Before going to bed, Violet talked about everything she liked about the wedding. Gregory told Finn he appreciated him for helping him get through the day. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase enjoyed the wedding gift basket Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) sent. Hearing her dad say he would kill both Dex (Evan Hofer) and Jason (Steve Burton) and put a bullet in their head, Kristina (Kate Mansi) dropped the plates of wedding cake. Sonny (Maurice Benard) tried to explain to her daughter it wasn’t what she thought. Kristina ran out in tears. Sonny accused Jason of bringing Kristina there. He ordered Jason to stay away from me then took off after Kristina. Jason called Carly (Laura Wright) and told her “Sonny’s in trouble.” Anna (Finola Hughes) visited Jack Brennan (Charles Mesur) at GH. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) saw Dex was hurt and said she was taking him to the hospital. Violet came back out to get the wedding bouquet because she wanted to sleep with it by her bed. After she left the room, Finn commented she was growing up fast. Gregory assured Finn she’d always need her dad. Kristina called Allie and told Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) she was in the bathroom and needed her. Sonny entered to explain it wasn’t what Kristina thought. Brook Lynn asked Chase how he felt about his mother not making the wedding. Gregory apologized to Finn for what he said the day before. Carly arrived at The Metro Court. Jason told her what happened and they took off looking for Sonny. Meanwhile, Sonny tried to explain to a shaken Kristina, adding she never had to be afraid of him. Tearfully, Kristina asked him to go then sank to the floor crying. “You want to tell me exactly what happened?” Anna asked Brennan. “I guess those vicious thugs at Pentonville were just too much for me” Jack answered. Finn helped Gregory get out of his wedding attire. Finn called Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and told her he drank. Blaze entered the bathroom. Kristina told her what happened with Sonny. Carly told Jason the security cameras located Sonny in the garden. Jason told Carly if Sonny saw him it may set him off. Carly assured she could handle it but Jason said he’d be close. At GH, Dex told Josslyn how Sonny was out of control and wanted to kill him. Jason hid while Carly confronted Sonny. “My little girl’s afraid of me,” Sonny told Carly. Brook Lynn told Chase it was like their wedding was a gift to everyone who helped them find each other and get together. Kristina told Blaze she should have listened to Josslyn. When he told her about the snafu drinking the champagne, Alexis told Finn he needed to forgive himself. But Finn found it difficult forgiving, throwing seven years of sobriety away in twenty seconds. Carly told Sonny that Kristina needed time and would see the father she loved. Sonny told Carly he wasn’t sure anyone loved him anymore. Josslyn told Dex she asked Jason to look out for him because she loved him. Anna found it strange that someone with his skill in hand-to-hand combat could have been overpowered. She commented about his visit from Carly Spencer. Jack laughed that maybe he inflicted the stab wound himself in the hope Carly would come to see him at GH. To that, Anna said “You’re good…but I’m better.” told Jason she’s never been more afraid for Sonny. Chase fell asleep. As Gregory laid in bed, we got a montage of photos of him, Finn, Chase and Violet as well as memories. Then, he closed his eyes.

Tuesday

Dex (Evan Hofer) assured Josslyn (Eden McCoy) he’ll heal. Chase (Josh Swickward) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) were at the airport awaiting their flight to Florence. Although yawning, Chase assured Brook Lynn they wouldn’t be sleeping at the hotel tonight. Violet (Jophelle Love) wanted to take the bridal bouquet to school. But Finn (Michael Easton) reminded the flowers would get ruined. Diane (Carolyn Henessy) told Alexis (Nancy Grahan) they needed to go to court to get her back her law license. Kristina (Kate Mansi) commented to Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) when she was upset she’d usually talk with her dad. Sonny (Maurice Benard) came to see Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). “What happened to your fist? Who were you punching?” Dante asked Sonny. While looking for his passport, Chase found a gift box. It was from Gregory (Gregory Harrison). In the note, he wrote if Chase and Brook Lynn ever got lost, they’d find their way back to each other. Chase opened the gift box and found a sterling silver compass. Finn returned home and called out to his dad. When he went to check on him, Finn found Gregory had died in his sleep. Sonny told Dante he defended himself against Dex and asked him to deliver a message to Kristina. “She saw the whole thing,” Sonny told Dante. Blaze told Kristina it wasn’t her problem to fix her father. Kristina commented she knew someone who could. Finn made the call to report his father passing away in his sleep. He noticed the bottle of Tire Track whiskey Gloria and Carmine Cerillo had given him. He uncorked the bottle and smelled the cork. Diane gave Alexis advice for her pre-court jitters. After taking in the aroma of the alcohol, Finn poured himself a glass and drank it. When her brother arrived, Kristina told Michael (Chad Duell) about Sonny attacking Dex and threatening to empty a gun in both Dex and Jason’s (Steve Burton) heads. Kristina commented that Michael didn’t seem surprised. Dante told Sonny as a cop he couldn’t go to Kristina and tell her it wasn’t what she thought, adding even if he wasn’t a cop, he wouldn’t want to. Finn gave his statement to a cop. EMTs entered and one told Finn that Gregory died from heart failure and it was quick and he hadn’t felt a thing. Kristina told Michael how she was struggling to reconcile the man who attacked Dex with the loving, gentle father she’d always known. Michael told Kristina their father was a product of choices he made before they were born. “Kristina, it’s not up to us to clean up after dad” Michael told Kristina. But he said he’ll try to fix things. After telling Josslyn she should try not to think about Sonny, Dex received a phone call. Dante reminded Sonny of the position he put him in. Because as a cop, if Dex pressed charges he’d have to enter their conversation as collaborating evidence. And if he did go to Kristina to try to smooth things over for Sonny and she were interviewed by the police, did Sonny expect Kristina to lie for him? Michael asked Dex whether he was going to press charges against Sonny. Kristina told Blaze she’d understand with all the family drama if she wanted out. Before they boarded their flight, Chase received a call from Finn who delivered the sad news that Gregory died in his sleep. Dante told Sonny he’d talk with Kristina and make sure she was okay. “But I’m not going to defend you from the life you’ve made for yourself” Dante told Sonny. Diane told Alexis she couldn’t give up. “Then if you don’t want to do it for you, do it for me” Diane said, reminding of all the pro bono hours she spent when she could have been billing a client. Finn thought about Gregory when Violet came home.

Wednesday

Finn (Michael Easton) broke the sad news to Violet (Jophelle Love) “Grandpa isn’t with us anymore. Grandpa passed away last night.” “Kristina and I don’t want you to report it,” Michael (Chad Duell) told Dex (Evan Hofer). Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) reminded Sonny (Maurice Benard) he had a history of violence. “What are you accusing me of?” Sonny asked. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) grabbed Gregory’s (Gregory Harrison) 8th grade debate medal to bring her luck. Ned (Wally Kurth) told Lois (Rena Sofer) how Tracy (Jane Eliott) didn’t mind hearing anyone playing as long as it wasn’t Eddie Maine. As the final boarding call for their flight to Rome closed, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) comforted Chase (Josh Swickward) over the loss of his father. Dante told Sonny how he’s looked the other way for so long. “But I’m done with that now. Too many people are getting hurt.” Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Dex she was done with telling people what to do. Michael told Dex his concern Kristina (Kate Mansi) would have to testify if Dex accused Sonny because with her being pregnant it was too much for her. “When is it too much for me?” Dex asked Michael. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) told Kristina she wasn’t like her dad. Finn explained to Violet how Gregory went to sleep and didn’t wake up. He wanted her to be grateful that they got to spend time with him. But Violet just wanted her grandpa back and ran out of the room calling for him. “Where is he?” Violet asked. Finn explained the paramedics took him away. “I didn’t even get to say goodbye” Violet cried. Finn told her that life was so beautiful but was also so unfair. Chase and Brook Lynn returned to the Quartermaine mansion and commented how they were going to have to tell people what happened. Lois and Ned were surprised when Chase and Brook Lynn entered. Ned asked what happened. Alexis’ hearing began. “If Grandpa isn’t here with us…where is he? What happens to Grandpa now?” Violet asked Finn. Dante told Sonny not to go near Dex. “You committed a crime and now you have to face the consequences of that crime” Dante told Sonny, who left. Kristina told Blaze the only way Michael can help is if he convinces Dex not to press charges. Josslyn told Dex the stress may be too much for Kristina and the baby and asked him not to file charges against Sonny. When he returned home, Ava (Maura West) asked Sonny not to shut her out. Sonny told her how Kristina saw something she shouldn’t and now he’s lost her. Over coffee at The Bistro, Michael and Josslyn talked about Sonny. Then, Michael asked whether she and Dex were back together. Finn told Violet there would be a funeral in a few days where Grandpa’s family and friends could get the chance to say goodbye. Violet asked whether he’d be with the angels after the funeral. Someone knocked on the door. It was Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). She said Chase called her. Violet told her Finn needed a hug too because he was sad. After hugging Finn, Elizabeth looked at him then noticed the glass of whiskey on the table. Neil Byrnes’ brother Fergus (Lane Davies) opposed Alexis’ petition to get her license reinstated. Sonny told Ava how Dex showed up at the wedding and about punching him, adding guys like Dex never got the message. “He shouldn’t be allowed to get away with attacking people and threatening to kill them just because I love my dad,” Kristina told Blaze. Then, she called someone. Michael told Josslyn it was obvious Dex decided to become a cop because of her. Elizabeth asked Violet to make a friendship bracelet for Aiden. After Violet left the room, Elizabeth said because Finn had been drinking, she was going to take Violet home with her so he could get himself to a meeting. But Finn said Violet was staying with him and nothing could help how he was feeling. Sonny told Ava how Kristina was afraid of her now. Kristina thanked Dex for coming. Kristina told Dex if he decided to press charges against her father she’d testify on his behalf. Josslyn told Michael that Dex believed in what he was doing. Alexis said she never argued a case for herself before and welcomed the opportunity to face her accuser. Ned and Lois gave Chase their condolences on Gregory’s passing. After Ned and Chase left the room to find Tracy (Jane Eliott) down at the stables, Lois comforted Brook Lynn. Elizabeth told Finn she couldn’t stop him from drinking but wouldn’t let him do it with that little girl (Violet) in the house.

Thursday

Carly (Laura Wright) came to see Anna (Finola Hughes) who told her that Jack Brennan (Charles Mesur) was in the hospital, adding he was stabbed. And it may not have been an act of God he survived. “Or he did it to himself,” Anna added. Ava (Maura West) told Sonny (Maurice Benard) that being in her third trimester made Kristina (Kate Mansi) more emotional. Dex (Evan Hofer) told Kristina he hasn’t decided what he was going to do yet. Fergus (Lane Davies) apologized to the review board for his outburst calling Alexis (Nancy Grahan) a liar. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) told Finn (Michael Easton) she wouldn’t want him risking his sobriety. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told Ned (Wally Kurth) she’s glad she still has her dad when Chase (Josh Swickward) lost his father. Anna told Carly how Brennan admitted if he had self inflicted his stab wound it would have been with the hope Carly would visit him again. Carly told Anna she had a lot going on and didn’t have time to deal with this now. As she left, Anna commented she hoped Carly wasn’t going to see Brennan. Finn told Elizabeth she could stay and help Violet make friendship bracelets but not tell him what to do. He opened the door and Elizabeth left. Finn cried on the other side of the door. Chase received a call from Elizabeth. Alexis told Fergus she deserved to know that name of her accuser. Dex came to see Anna. Off the record, he told her about Sonny attacking him after the wedding and asked her advice on what he should do because he was concerned for Kristina. Lois told Ned he should check on his mother because Tracy (Jane Eliott) really cared about Gregory (Gregory Harrison). Ava opened Sonny’s penthouse door to find Carly standing there. Chase and Brook Lynn arrived at Finn’s apartment. Brook Lynn noticed the opened bottle of bourbon on the table and suggested she and Violet go for a walk while the grownups (Finn and Chase) talked. Once they were alone, Chase told Finn he wanted to know everything that happened. “And I mean everything,” Chase said looking at the bourbon bottle. Carly asked Sonny whether he spoke with Kristina. Dex asked Anna whether he would be tarnishing the badge before he even put it on by not pursuing a case against Sonny. Ned and Lois told each other how much they appreciated each other. Lois was sad thinking when they held their future grandchild, Gregory wouldn’t be there to hold the baby. Fergus told Alexis her accuser was Ava Jerome. A ten minute recess was granted before opening statements were heard. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) offered to make Kristina breakfast. Anna told Dex if he pressed charges against Sonny there would be a ripple effect. Carly asked Sonny who would he blame next after he ran out of traitors. Dex told Anna he decided not to press charges. “For now I’m going to live in the gray,” Dex said. Anna said from what she saw he’s going to make a great cop. After Carly left, Ava told Sonny it was obvious Carly wanted a rift between him and his children. Lois welcomed Gio and told him his room was all ready. Alexis told Diane (Carolyn Henessy) Ava Jerome ruined her life as court was called back in session. At Bobbie’s while Violet was coloring, Brook Lynn told her she knew she was sad and could talk to her about it. Violet commented her daddy was sad because grandpa was his father. Violet worried what she’d do if something happened to her father. Brook Lynn assured Violet that Finn was strong. Finn told Chase how he found their dad and called 911 and how the paramedics pronounced him deceased. He added he had a drink…actually more than one.

Friday

The hearing to determine whether Alexis’ (Nancy Grahan) medical license would be reinstated resumed. At GH, Portia (Brooke Kerr) told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) that Finn (Michael Easton) called her and told her about Gregory (Gregory Harrison). Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) assured Violet (Jophelle Love) she’d never forget her grandfather. Finn told Chase (Josh Swickward) what he found was a dead body because it didn’t smell or feel like their dad anymore. Cody (Josh Kelly) told Tracy (Jane Eliott) she was needed at the house and it sounded very important. He added Chase needed him and that he and Brook Lynn came back and weren’t on their way to their honeymoon. “Why not?” Tracy demanded. “I’m sorry” Cody answered. Portia asked Elizabeth how Finn was holding up. She asked Elizabeth what was going on, reminding she was her friend. “But you’re also co-Chief of Staff,” Elizabeth said. Tracy told Cody she wasn’t sorry to hear that Gregory died from him. Because when she tried to imagine how Gregory was when he was young, she imagined he was a lot like Cody. Alexis admitted to lying under oath but said she wasn’t testifying as an attorney but as a private citizen trying to protect the reputation of someone she cared about. “Who just so happened to be the brother of opposing counsel Fergus Byrnes.” Finn berated himself for handling his grief the wrong way at the bottom of a bottle. He sadly said he disappointed their father by throwing away his sobriety. Chase reminded Finn how he made amends with their father. Finn asked Chase to do him a favor. “Get rid of it bro” Finn said. Chase took the bottle of bourbon away. Tracy told Cody he was like Gregory because he had a quiet honesty about him and didn’t push people but instead gave them grace which was a gift. Elizabeth ran into TJ (Taj Bellows) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos). She told Molly how she’s been trying to get in touch with Alexis to tell her about Gregory. Molly told Elizabeth that Alexis was in Albany for a hearing to get her law license back. Elizabeth decided to wait for Alexis to return so she could tell her in person. Alexis told the review board her disbarment was more about the vendetta Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Fergus Byrnes (Lane Davies) had and not about any wrongdoing on her part. Tracy came to GH. After telling Elizabeth she was sorry for her loss due to Gregory’s passing, Tracy asked where she could find Stella Henry (Vernee Watson). Then, Tracy went to the breakroom and Stella pulled out a chair for Ms. Quartermaine. Elizabeth told Portia that Finn took a drink. Tracy expressed to Stella an interest in supporting medical causes. Brook Lynn brought Violet home. Violet told Finn she wanted grilled cheese with tomato like grandpa used to make. Fergus told the review board Ms. Davies left out crucial details about her stellar career. TJ and Molly laughed at how they’ve been with Kristina (Kate Mansi) by monitoring her actions during her pregnancy which is something they’d never do with any other surrogate. Stella told Tracy her kind heart was the reason she intended to take such large actions on Gregory’s behalf. Tracy told Stella that Gregory made her a better person and she was trying to make him proud. Fergus told the review board both his brothers Neil and Brennan would be alive today if they hadn’t met Alexis. Portia told Elizabeth she knows how important Finn’s sobriety was to him so this was probably a one time thing. Brook Lynn told Finn they were there for him if he needed anything. Finn told them what he needed now was to get to a meeting. Once the statements were concluded, the court said they’d render their decision in thirty days.
