A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

At GH, Finn (Michael Easton) told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) saying it’s a quiet evening for Halloween would jinx it. Drew (Cameron Mathison) told Carly (Laura Wright) he felt like he’d woken from a long nightmare. Chase (Josh Swickward) returned to the apartment with more candy. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) commented how it was too bad all the trick-or-treaters were asleep. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) asked Laura (Genie Francis) why she was so nice to her. Sam (Kelly Monaco) told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) how Danny told her Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) went missing and Jake (Hudson West) went to look for her. “Now they’re both missing,” Sam said. Charlotte looked through the files in the trunk. Anna (Finola Hughes) realized her apartment door was unlocked. She put down her bag, pulled out her gun and quietly turned the door knob. Charlotte tried to get her dimming flashlight to work. “Freeze!” Anna ordered. She fired her gun when the black hooded figure turned around holding something that looked like a gun. The figure fell to the floor. Jake (Hudson West) appeared yelling Charlotte’s name. Anna checked the figure and was shocked to see it was Charlotte. Anna told Jake to take off his costume jacket to help stop the bleeding. Then she told Jake to call 911. Danny told Dante about Charlotte going missing while they were trick-or-treating. He told Sam and Dante how Charlotte was interested in tarot. Finn told Elizabeth one of the weirdest nights he ever spent in the ER started with an intern saying it was going to be a quiet night. Laura told Esme she should let go of all her guilt. She told Esme she was very impressed with how she was handling being a single mom. “You have been so generous and so great but we can’t stay here anymore” Esme told Laura. “Chase, are you implying my grandmother was a certain wicked witch?” Brook Lynn asked when Chase commented how Tracy (Jane Eliott) would treat trick-or-treaters if they showed up at the Quartermaine mansion. Anna told Jake to keep Scarlett’s legs elevated and talk with Charlotte. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) entered, upset to see his daughter had been shot. Anna told Jake to go outside so the ambulance EMTs could see him. Dante received a call and told Sam “There was a shooting and the address is Maxie’s old apartment.” Carly told Drew about Alexis’ (Nancy Grahan) interview with Judge Kim. Drew asked why Alexis wanted to do the interview with Judge Kim and how she knew he was corrupt. Carly said from her. Brook Lynn admitted Tracy did share certain Wicked Witch qualities. Finn told Elizabeth a story about how he delivered a baby in an elevator on Halloween, adding the moral of the story was no matter how quiet the night seemed, you never said it out loud. Laura asked Esme whether her feeling crowded had something to do with Spencer (Nicholas Chavez). Dante was shocked when he arrived at Maxie’s (Kristen Storms) old apartment and saw Charlotte was the victim who’d been shot. Drew commented it made sense Carly was the one who saved him. “You are my hero.” Drew said. Esme admitted to Laura she couldn’t help being drawn to Spencer. Laura asked Esme whether it was possible Spencer’s relationship with Trina (Tabyana Ali) was prompted her feelings for Spencer. Sam encouraged Danny to send out good positive thoughts for Charlotte until they brought her home. Jake wanted to go to the hospital to be with Charlotte. Dante asked Jake to wait outside while he talked with Anna. After explaining to Dante what happened, Anna cried hysterically “I discharged my weapon on a child.” Carly was annoyed when Drew told her Judge Kim gave him six months probation. Drew was happy he was home with the women he loved. “You and Scout,” Drew told Carly. Chase suggested Brook Lynn let Tracy give her Deception then he could sign it over to Lucy (Lynn Herring), Maxie and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Charlotte was wheeled into GH where Austin (Roger Howarth) began working on her. Dante asked for Charlotte’s backpack by bagged as evidence and also told Anna he was going to need her gun. Carly gave Drew a vanilla milkshake. Elizabeth was relieved to see Jake was okay. He asked whether Charlotte was going to be okay. Sam commented how Danny reminded her of his dad when he wanted to fix everything. Valentin pleaded with Austin to save his daughter as Charlotte was taken to the OR. “Why Anna…why?!” Valentin demanded. Drew told Carly he wanted them to have a romantic night out tomorrow night. Carly suggested they took this back to her place. Brook Lynn told Chase there was no way Tracy would sign Deception over to her because she’d never risk her giving Lucy back the company. Chase suggested they focus on Halloween tonight. Laura offered to help Esme with the rent when Esme said she wanted to rent a room above Kelly’s. When Esme left the room to check on Ace, Laura wondered what Spencer was going to think about Esme leaving with Ace to rent a room above Kelly’s. Dante called Sam and told her the shooting victim was Charlotte who’d be shot by Anna. Anna explained it happened so fast and how the apartment was dark and she thought it was an intruder. Valentin told Anna he couldn’t do this right. Jake apologized for not being fast enough to catch up with Charlotte. “It wasn’t your fault” Valentin said as Dante took Anna in to take her statement.

Tuesday

When Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura (Genie Francis) arrived at GH, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) told them Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) had been shot. “It was Anna,” Valentin said. Anna spent the night at Sonny’s penthouse. She told Sonny (Maurice Benard) she kept replaying in her head the shooting. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) asked Gregory (Gregory Harrison) whether she was obligated to report the shooting of a child. Mac (John J. York), Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) met with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) in the interrogation room at the PCPD and asked what happened last night as he was the detective on the scene. Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Devon did their physical therapy at Volonino’s Gym. Sam (Kelly Monaco) was happy to see Drew (Cameron Mathison) when he arrived at her door. She hugged him and said “I can’t believe you’re out of prison.” Devon told Curtis it took years to deal with the bitterness over the hand life dealt. Sam and Drew talked about Charlotte’s shooting. Drew asked Sam whether there was anything he could do to help the kids come to terms with Charlotte’s shooting, saying he had a lot to make up for now that he was home. Alexis told Gregory about Anna shooting Charlotte Cassadine. Valentin told Laura and Kevin how he tried to intercept Charlotte when he realized she was headed to Anna’s but it was too late. Jordan said Anna could be in real trouble. Nina (Cynthia Watros) came out from the bedroom and was surprised to see Anna there. “Sonny, is everything alright?” Nina asked. “No it’s not,” Anna answered. Nina was shocked when Anna told her she shot Charlotte. Dante told Mac, Jordan and Robert that Jake Webber (Hudson West) told him Charlotte had a key to Anna’s apartment. Robert told them Anna wasn’t expecting Charlotte but he knew who she was expecting. Drew told Sam her mother helped him get out of prison. Even though two of the people involved were her family, Alexis decided she would publish the story of the shooting but out of respect for the family and because Charlotte was a minor she’d withhold Charlotte’s name. Devon told Curtis he was born without legs so he learned to live his life. Scout was happy to see her father home. Robert told Mac, Dante and Jordan how Anna found an old classified document and thought a former WSB agent was the one stalking her. Valentin told Kevin and Laura about Charlotte being in surgery. When Kevin and Laura left to get information on how the surgery was going, Nina arrived. She and Valentin hugged. Anna told Sonny she’d never forgive herself if Charlotte didn’t make it. Nina told Valentin he couldn’t shoulder the blame for the shooting himself. Nina told Valentin they had to be positive because Charlotte was alive and was a fighter so they had to believe she would make it. Anna told Sonny how she didn’t follow the training she received as an agent. An officer gave Dante the inventory on Charlotte Cassadine’s backpack When he read the file, Dante gave a shocked look. Gregory told Alexis he’d let her off the hook going skydiving with him. Drew told Scout he didn’t have to go back to prison and was there to stay for good. Drew told Scout to go get dressed because there was something really important he needed her help with. Devon urged Curtis to let his feelings out and to let his family see who he was now. Dante returned home and told Sam even though it was hard to wrap his head around Charlotte being shot, he couldn’t imagine what Anna was feeling. Sonny understood what Anna was going through and recounted how he shot Dante. Anna cried she didn’t know how she would live with firing on an unarmed child. Jordan told Mac and Robert that their connections to Anna may compromise the case so they may have to bring in an outside investigator. Devon and Curtis talked about their families. Kevin told Laura that Charlotte was in real trouble and not medically or physically…she was broken. Laura vowed they would fix her. Alexis was surprised when Scout arrived at her office on her own. Scout told her grandmother she wasn’t alone. “Look who I brought with me” Scout said as Drew entered. Alexis was happy to see him. Alexis was happy to see him. Devon told Curtis that keeping his wife in the dark wouldn’t do either of them any good. Curtis vowed from now on he’d tell his wife how he felt. Drew asked Alexis whether he could do anything to repay her. Alexis told Drew the smile on her granddaughter’s face was enough. Nina told Valentin she knew to come because Charlotte spent the night at Sonny’s. When the surgeon came out, Valentin asked whether Charlotte would make it. Dante told Sam how red spray paint was found in Charlotte’s backpack…the same paint that matched what was sprayed on the door of Anna’s house. “Murderer,” Sam said. “Then Anna’s house burned down,” Dante said. Nina called Sonny and told him Charlotte was out of surgery and the doctor said she was going to make it. Anna was relieved when Sonny shared the news.

Wednesday

Tracy (Jane Eliott) told Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) she was leaving to take care of something she should have done a long time ago. Eddie (Wally Kurth) continued to have a musical block and was unable to finish his song. Lois (Rena Sofer) urged him to take a break. But Eddie said he couldn’t take a break when he was this close. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) came to Deception and was glad to see Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) was back. “Sasha’s back. But you’re not” Maxie said. Michael (Chad Duell) was happily surprised to find Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright) in his office. Chase (Josh Swickward) cornered Austin (Roger Howarth) at GH and said he’d like to ask him a few questions about his cousin Mason Gatlin. Ava (Maura West) came to see Sonny (Maurice Benard) to find out whether Brick (Stephen A. Smith) news on Nikolas (Adam Huss). “Forget Nikolas, that’s the least of your problems. You’re in bed with the enemy. And the worst part about it is you don’t even know it” Sonny told Ava. Tracy told Olivia she was going to Amsterdam. “Bobbie’s going to help me sort out Luke’s affairs.” Lois asked Eddie whether he even cared that Ned Quartermaine wasn’t just a name. Sasha told Maxie and Brook Lynn all their fighting was pointless and they should admit they missed each other. Sonny told Ava she was blind to Austin’s new role in her abduction. Austin told Chase he and his cousin Mason weren’t that close and their worlds didn’t intersect. Drew told Carly now he was home they needed to put everything else behind them because they had a lot of lost time to make up for. But Carly wanted to know who turned them into the SEC. Sasha told Maxie and Brook Lynn it made her so sad they were willing to throw away a friendship they both cherished. Maxie and Brook Lynn admitted they missed each other. Then, Maxie told her about Georgie’s emotional state because of Charlotte’s (Scarlett Fernandez) shooting. Tracy told Olivia that Ned’s musical fantasy is wearing a little thin. Lois urged Eddie to dish the siren and move on. Lois suggested Eddie solve his writer’s block with a logic puzzle: Pinpoint the problem, figure out where you’re at and where you want to go. When he explained his problem causing his block, Lois told Eddie the only way to find the siren is to dive into the water. Tracy warned Olivia to keep an eye on Lois. Maxie received an important phone call. Sonny told Ava that Mason’s boss was Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). Sonny told Ava it wasn’t a coincidence that when Austin was at Cyrus’ hearing Mason was holding her hostage. Chase came to Mason’s room and asked him why he kidnapped Ava Jerome. Michael asked Drew and his mother “What if it wasn’t Ned?” who turned them into the SEC. Lois told Ned he needed to take a leap of faith. Eddie said he would be down at the boathouse. “I’m going to Amsterdam to close out Luke’s affairs with Bobbie Spencer” Tracy told Brook Lynn. “Whatever Austin claims to feel about you, his first loyalty is to Cyrus Renault and that trumps everything” Sonny told Ava. Mason told Chase to get him the DA to cut him a deal. Lois assured Olivia she was not there to slip into anything with her husband. Lois told Olivia that Ned was at the boathouse. She told Olivia not to let Tracy get in her head. Tracy told Brook Lynn running Deception was her gift to her. Sasha urged Maxie they needed to do the shoot with photographer Salvatore. Drew urged Carly to press pulse and leave it behind because it wouldn’t help anyone. Eddie sat on the bench at the boathouse playing his song. Ava realized Austin’s probably been lying about not knowing Nikolas was alive. Sonny told Ava it was time to admit Austin’s been playing her from the start. Mason told Austin he had no intention of committing suicide by giving up Cyrus. Lois and Tracy exchanged barbs before Tracy left. Ned took the leap and jumped into the lake. Maxie told Sasha she was still piecing her life together. Sasha urged Maxie the only way she could know whether she could handle a photo shoot was to do it. Olivia arrived at the boathouse and called for Eddie. She found his shoes on the ground across the chair by the lake. “Eddie,” Olivia said.

Thursday

Eddie (Wally Kurth) looked out at the water before taking off his shoes and jacket to jump in. “You just say the word sweetheart and I will stay” Lois (Rena Sofer) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). Salvatore told Maxie (Kristen Storms) he wouldn’t work with Sasha (Sofia Mattson) some fragile diva. Maxie assured Sasha wouldn’t like her down. Salvatore said he’d rather hear that from Sasha herself. “My best friend accidentally shot someone last night. A young girl and it’s all my fault” Felicia (Kristina Wagner) told Stella (Vernee Watson). Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) met with Laura (Genie Francis) at The Metro Court. Laura told him his cousin was shot last night by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Anna told Sonny (Maurice Benard) she had to go to the hospital to explain everything to Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Sonny told her that’s the last thing she should do. Nina (Cyntha Watros) and Valentin were at her bedside at GH when Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) woke up. Olivia (Lisa LoCicierco) arrived at the boathouse and called for Eddie. She found his shoes on the ground across the chair by the lake. “Eddie,” Olivia said. After praying for Eddie to be okay, Olivia jumped into the water. Brook Lynn remembered hearing all the stories about Eddie Maine when she was growing up. Salvatore prepared to shoot Sasha for the nature shoot for Deception’s spring line. Felicia blamed herself for suggesting Anna move into her daughter’s old apartment. Laura gave Spencer as much details about the shooting as she could but said there was something else she needed to talk with him about. Charlotte told her father and Nina she remembered it was Halloween and she’d been trick-or-treating then Anna shot her. Sonny told Anna as a father he wouldn’t be ready to hear her explanation yet. When Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) arrived, Anna asked “Are you here to arrest me?” Eddie swam in the water. Lois told Brook Lynn she couldn’t let detours stop her from reaching the prize. Stella told Felicia she’s been a good friend to Anna. All they could do was hope the real culprit would be behind bars soon. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) interrupted Laura and Spencer’s conversation. “I have news that couldn’t wait” Esme said. Charlotte asked her papa what Anna told him. Dante told Anna he wasn’t there to arrest her. He had some information to share about the contents of Scarlett’s backpack. Anna was miffed when Dante asked whether it was possible she hadn’t locked the door. She commented that she made the worst mistake of her life when she fired her gun. Cody (Josh Kelly) arrived at the photoshoot with the baby alpaca. Esme was excited about the place she’d found for her and Ace and had an appointment to see it. “Cancel it. You’re not taking Ace anywhere” Spencer said. Felicia worried Mac (John J. York) would have to arrest Anna and Robert (Tristan Rogers) would have to prosecute her. Valentin told Charlotte he hadn’t spoken with Anna then asked why she changed her costume and went to Anna’s apartment. Anna told Dante the last time she had her key was when she was at Valentin’s house and showed it to him. “Charlotte was there,” Anna said. Lois reminded Brook Lynn her grandmother’s gift of Deception was the easier road. Eddie and Olivia swam. Laura told Esme she hadn’t changed her mind about helping her with the rent. If after they looked at the apartment and they both liked it, she’d co-sign the lease. Esme angrily told Spencer she knew what Ace was ready for. “I am his mother. It’s my job to make decisions for him” Esme said, then left for an appointment. Laura stopped Spencer from following her. Charlotte told Valentin she wanted to tell him what happened. Dante told Anna the other item found in the backpack was red spray paint they same kind used to paint Murderer on her door. Felicia asked Stella why she decided not to stay in London. Lois suggested Brook Lynn stick it to Tracy (Jane Eliott) by handing the company back to her friends. Eddie’s foot got trapped on some seaweed. Anna wondered if the person from her early days with the WSB who was after her was using Charlotte to get to her. Charlotte lied she found Anna’s key and wanted to give it back to her. She said she was going to leave Anna a note but that was when Anna shot her. After they left Charlotte’s room, Valentin told Nina his daughter was lying. Nina reminded Valentin that Charlotte was awake and everything else could wait. Before leaving, Nina told Valentin she was just a phone call away and would be back tomorrow. Salvatore wanted to include Cody in the shoot, telling Maxie Cody being there made the shot more authentic. Stella told Felicia about meeting a man named George in London who proposed to her. But she turned him down because she knew marrying him would mean leaving Port Charles. Lois encouraged Brook Lynn to take the job at Deception then let destiny figure out the rest. Valentin turned around and saw Anna standing there. Sonny didn’t think Anna’s theory held water. Dante told Sonny it’s starting to look like Charlotte was the one targeting Anna. Spencer asked Laura why she was helping Esem take Ace away from him, adding Esme couldn’t take care of Ace alone and that Ace needed him. Laura told Spencer that it was better Esme made the change now when Ace was young and wouldn’t remember things used to be different. “You’re wrong” Spencer said then left The Metro Court. Cody decided to go with it and started modeling with Sasha. Maxie realized the shoot with Cody and Sasha was perfect. Lois told Brook Lynn she’d stick around a little longer to help her figure out how to defang the snake Tracy. Olivia helped get the seaweed off Eddie’s foot.

Friday

Eddie (Wally Kurth) loses consciousness in the water. Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) untangles his foot from the seaweed. At The Metro Court, Alexis (Nancy Grahan) is waiting for Kristina (Kate Mansi) who’s late. Blaze (Jacqueline Rose Lopez) introduces herself and Alexis invites her to join her. Also at The Metro Court are Drew (Cameron Mathis) and Curtis (Donnell Turner). The friends greet each other with a hug. Dex (Evan Hofer), Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) return from the movies with chinese food. “What happened?” Trina asks, seeing Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) is upset. “Esme happened and this time she had my grandmother on her side. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) turns around and finds Anna (Finola Hughes) standing behind him. He tells her Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) is going to make a full recovery. “There’s something you need to know,” Anna says. “What is it?” Valentin asks. “Not here” Anna answers and takes him to some place more private. Olivia brings Eddie to the surface. She drags him to the shore and begins performing CPR. Eddie wakes up and says “It’s you…you saved me.” “Of course I did. I would do anything for you” Olivia said, assuring Eddie it’s okay. “It’s not Eddie. I’m Ned” Ned says. Kristina apologizes to Alexis for being late. Alexis suggested they all have dinner together. Drew talked about all the things he missed when he was in prison. Curtis apologized for not visiting Drew, who said he didn’t need to apologize. Drew said their brotherhood was born in battle. They made a toast to survival and freedom. Dex and Josslyn gave Trina and Spencer a moment alone. Spencer told Trina that Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) was going to take Ace and move away. “Finally” Trina said to Spencer’s surprise. Laura (Genie Francis) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) talk about the shooting. Elizabeth said she couldn’t understand how Anna could have shot Charlotte. Valentin told Anna he knew it was an accident. “How did you know to come to the apartment?” Anna asked. Ned explained how he saw Olivia. “It was you all along in the song. I know how it ends. I know how to finish the song,” Ned told Olivia he remembered everything. Spencer’s shouting brought Dex and Josslyn back outside. Drew asked Curtis about the changes in his life. Elizabeth was angry with Anna for carrying a gun around on Halloween with kids in costume acting crazy. Elizabeth said both Jake (Hudson West) and Charlotte would have emotional scars for a long time. Valentin explained he knew to come to her apartment because he followed Jake. Anna told Valentin her theory about former WSB agent Forsythe using Charlotte to come after her. Ned and Olivia went to the boathouse and wrapped themselves in towels to warm up. Ned explained how it felt like he was on autopilot the whole time. Ned told Tracy he remembered everything even though things were fuzzy. Olivia told Ned she was praying so hard for this. “And now you came back to me,” Olivia said. “But you were willing to let Eddie stay weren’t you?” Ned asked. Blaze talked about how difficult things were when Linc managed her. She told Alexis by keeping her mouth shut she was basically endorsing Linc. Curtis told Drew how everything was different for him now. Spencer angrily said when he came to Trina with the news Esme was taking his baby brother out of his life all she could say was finally. Valentin told Anna there was no Forsythe, at least not the way she’s thinking. “My daughter’s been stalking you for months and I’ve been covering for her,” Valentin confessed. Charlotte woke up and found Laura in her hospital room. Laura told her how Valentin went for a walk with Anna. Charlotte got upset saying Anna couldn’t be trusted because she was dangerous and would hurt her papa. Ned told Olivia how being Eddie Maine brought him back to a simpler time in his life. Kristina suggested Blaze collaborate on an article about harassment in the music business. Valentin explained how he had to protect Charlotte because he failed her so many times. “What about protecting me?!” Anna angrily asked. Charlotte told Laura how her grandfather visited her in school and wrote her a letter that Anna would use her. And that she would do something to hurt her papa and he’d end up in prison or dead. Olivia asked Ned whether he came back because of Lois (Rena Sofer). Dex agreed with Spencer it wouldn’t be the same if Esme moved away with Ace. Charlotte told Laura how her grandfather visited her in school and wrote her a letter that Anna would use her. And that she would do something to hurt her papa and he’d end up in prison or dead. Olivia asked Ned whether he came back because of Lois (Rena Sofer). Alexis came over to Drew and Curtis’ table. Curtis commented on Alexis’ gustiness in getting the information to free Drew. Ned told Lois she was the only one who could have brought him back. Trina reminded Spencer that Esme didn’t have to share custody with him because he was Ace’s brother, not his father. Charlotte told Laura that Anna must have figured out she knew and that’s why she shot her. “She tried to kill me just like she’ll do to papa” Charlotte said. Anna angrily slapped Valentin and told him she shot a child and would have to live with that. “I’ll never forgive you” Anna said and walked away. Ned told Olivia she saved his life. Drew suggested they watch the game and he’d bring beer and some wine for Portia (Brooke Kerr). Alexis returned to her table. Blaze told Alexis she wanted to do the interview. After Blaze left, Alexis told Kristina that Blaze liked her. Spencer told Trina she wouldn’t like the answer if he forced him to choose between her and Ace. “I’ll save you the trouble” Trina said angrily then took her purse and left. Anna told Laura she needed to see Charlotte. But Laura wouldn’t let her inside her granddaughter’s room. “You can’t go in there. She is terrified of you. She thinks that you shot her on purpose” Laura told Anna. “I didn’t” Anna cries.
