A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Alexis (Nancy Grahan) was at yoga class with Diane (Carolyn Henessey) commenting she didn’t think she’d be available because of Robert (Tristan Rogers). Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Laura (Genie Francis) and Robert arrived at Anna’s house to convince her to go to The Savoy with them. “Anna, what are you doing?” Laura asked Anna. “Burning my past” Anna answered. Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) was making faces at Ace. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) told Spencer she got her first paycheck and it felt good until she saw the amount as she expected it to be more. “I’m just afraid this all is going to fall apart,” Esme said, expressing concern about Laura going away to find Ace’s father. Spencer knew how she felt because he felt the same way when he worked at Kelly’s. Olivia (Lisa Locicero) worried about the missing Ned (Wally Kurth) because he wouldn’t know where to go because he doesn’t remember who he was. At The Savoy, Michael (Chad Duell) told Sonny (Maurice Benard) how his mother was ready to go to war for Drew (Cameron Mathison). “Ava let me call you back” Nina (Cynthia Watros) said when she saw Ned. “Just the person I was looking for,” Ned told Nina. Anna told Felicia, Laura and Robert she didn’t want to come to The Savoy with them because she wanted to be alone with her thoughts. Anna reminded Robert she had to deal with the fact she was a double agent and innocent people got hurt. Although she hadn’t exercised she was exhausted, Alexis suggested they get something to eat. Esme was surprised when Trina (Tabyana Ali) knocked on the door. “I thought you were staying in tonight?” Esme asked. Olivia commented Ned would have never left the hospital. Tracy added Eddie Maine would because he was immature. Ned as Eddie asked Nina about the talent The Savoy pulls in and suggested they have a drink and talk. When he noticed Ned talking with Nina, Sonny came over with Michael. Nina introduced him to Eddie Maine. Sonny introduced Eddie to his son Michael and offered to buy him a drink. He asked whether Nina made that call for him. Catching the clue, Nina walked away and called Olivia. But when she saw on her phone it was Nina, Olivia said she didn’t have time for her now and didn’t answer. So Nina called Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). They left for The Savoy to catch Ned before he left the nightclub. Ned explained to Sonny and Michael he was a front man without a band. He asked Michael about the last show he saw. He told him life was too short when Michael explained he was busy with the family business. Anna told Laura how she wasn’t ready to get rid of that part of her life as she feels her work as an agent wasn’t done yet. Robert interrupted Ned and Michael. DA Scorpio confronted Sonny about using Diane Miller to get information. Diane appeared with Alexis and told DA Scorpio not to question her client without his attorney present. Trina told Spencer about Curtis doing something that upset her right as they were working on developing their relationship. Ned finished his drink and walked away without Michael seeing him. Olivia, Tracy and Brook Lynn arrived. Olivia thanked Nina for calling her then asked where her husband was. Ned as Eddie took to the stage to be the opening act but got lightheaded. Michael gave him some water and urged him to take it easy. Sonny told Olivia how he hadn’t told Ned who he was yet. Olivide decided she’d try to talk with Ned. Esme interrupted Trina and Spencer as she forgot Ace’s blanket. After she left the room, Trina commented how they’d be rid of Esme if they had something to make her pay for her crimes. Spencer thought about putting the evidence his Uncle Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) got for him back in the safe deposit box. Robert told Diane he cared about her more than she knew. But Diane worried whether he’d feel that way if Holly (Emma Samms) were still in town. Anna decided to go to Chesnyna with Laura. Esme came back in the room and told Spencer that Ace couldn’t sleep so he needed to sing that silly song to him. Ned told Olivia he felt sorry for the pain he was causing her but couldn’t be someone he wasn’t. Olivia asked Ned to stay at her house and could have his own room. But he said it didn’t feel right and walked away. Trina decided to leave when Esme interrupted again because she couldn’t find Ace’s toy. Trina watched from the door as Spencer sang Ace a lullaby. Sonny told Olivia he can have Ned stay with him. Laura told Anna it wouldn’t be good for her if she came to Chesnyna with her and assured the right path would find Anna. Diane told Robert she can’t believe he would even think she’d consider being someone’s constellation prize.

Tuesday

Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickward) went for a run. “For a shimmering moment I almost forgot my father doesn’t know who I am,” Brook Lynn said. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Dex (Evan Hofer) her mom asked her to have a good time and don’t worry about Drew (Cameron Mathison). Trina (Tabyana Ali) approached and commented how hard it was when you were worried about someone you cared for. Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) offered to drive his mother to the airport. But Laura (Genie Francis) already had a driver. She told him and Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) she trusted they could come together for Ace’s sake. Tracy (Jane Eliott) assured Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) she hadn’t driven Ned (Wally Kurth) away. “Can someone tell me what I’m doing here?” Ned asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Nina (Cynthia Watros). Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) rushed inside Anna’s (Finola Hughes) house and asked whether she was okay. “Why would I be?” Anna asked. Valentin took her outside and showed her the front door where MURDER was written across in big bold lettering. She told Valentin it was probably done by some kids who read the paper then went to get something to clean it off. Ava (Maura West) told Austin (Roger Howarth) she wasn’t sure about getting Pilar fired. When they both appeared tired because they’d been up all night with Ace, Laura reminded them they discussed taking shifts. Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Martin (Michael E. Knight) arrived to see Laura off. Laura told Esme and Spencer that Martin was the backup she told them about. Mason entered Austin’s office to hear what they got from Sonny Cornithos on Pikeman. He showed Ava some locks of her hair he got from Nikolas’ (Adam Huss) body and warned they’d be enough to convince the police she killed Nikolas. Ned thanked Sonny for letting him stay at his place. Tracy told Brook Lynn that Olivia went to see Ned. Olivia arrived at Sonny’s place with ravioli she made and a change of clothes. When Dex walked away, Josslyn and Trina talked about Esme. Josslyn told Trina that Esme was guilty so there wasn’t anything wrong with moving justice along. Laura told Spencer that Ace and Esme are a package deal. Spencer thought about when he and Trina found the evidence Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) left for him in the safe deposit box. Tracy spoke with her mysterious partner about the Deceptor. Chase told Brook Lynn that Nina was there and saw Ned’s accident. Olivia showed Ned a photo album hoping the pictures would jog his memory. Unfortunately, only the pictures relating to him as Eddie Maine got any reaction. Olivia was angry when he remembered his guitar from the 90s. Ned walked out and Nina followed. While Sonny comforted Olivia, Ned thanked Nina for being the only one who called him Eddie and for not trying to force him into being someone he’s not. Josslyn wasn’t convinced when Trina told her Spencer destroyed the evidence. Esme told Spencer she was willing to cooperate with him for Ace’s sake if he was willing. “For Ace” Spencer agreed. Lucy called someone and asked them to meet her at The Metro Court. Nina came back inside the penthouse and told Sonny that Ned was gone. But Dex found him and brought him back. Ava was in the park to spend time with Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) when Pilar came up to her and said frantically “Avery’s gone.”

Wednesday

Martin (Michael E. Knight) asked Lucy (Lynn Herring) what was wrong. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) brought lunch for herself and Maxie (Kristen Storms). Drew (Cameron Mathison) told Tracy (Jane Eliott) he asked Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) to bring Scout over. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) came home and talked with her mother about Drew’s sentence. “You think I made a huge mistake by not turning in Sonny” Carly (Laura Wright) said. “You’re not going anywhere” Sonny told Ned (Wally Kurth) when he said he was leaving Port Charles. “Someone took my daughter!” Ava (Maura West) said frantically when Chase (Josh Swickward) arrived to help. Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) joined Lucy and Martin at The Metro Court pool. Josslyn told Carly it didn’t matter what she thought as long as her mother wasn’t having regrets. She told her mother although she couldn’t forgive Sonny for what he did to their family, if she and Michael (Chad Duell) could put aside their feelings for Donna’s sake so could she. Josslyn just hates Drew going to prison for three years while Sonny, who’s done so much wrong, is free. After suggesting Scout take Dante to see Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) flowers, Drew told Tracy (Jane Eliott) the judge sentenced him to three years at Pentonville. Then, he asked Sam how they were going to tell their daughter. Maxie admitted to Brook Lynn she hasn’t moved out of her apartment because of Nathan (Ryan Paevy). Ned told Sonny he borrowed his computer and did some research and found out he had a son with Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and had a very public image. Ned asked whether Sonny would have his legs broken if he left town. Sonny answered no but had an offer he couldn’t refuse. Sonny told Ned if he stayed in Port Charles and let Olivia and the Quartermaines know he was okay from time to time, he’d introduce him to important people in the business who could sign him to a record contract. But the deal was only active as long as he remained in Port Charles. While Pilar’s statement was taken, Ava told Chase that Avery didn’t run off and could have disappeared because of Sonny. Chase told Ava he would call in a missing child alert. Tracy suggested Drew change his plea and throw Carly under the bus. Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) arrived and gave Carly a folder with the amount the court expected her to pay for her part in the insider trading. Carly looked at the folder and was shocked by the figure. “Five million dollars!” she exclaimed. The amount was her entire savings. Carly wouldn’t let Josslyn use her trust fund. Diane told her she couldn’t get the money from Sonny. Or Michael because it would cause the SEC to look into his involvement further. Ned and Sonny’s conversation was interrupted by a call from Ava who told him Avery was missing. When Maxie had to leave her office for a work emergency, Brook Lynn took out a flash drive and copied the files about the Deceptor. Sonny arrived with Frank and ordered them to comb the park for Avery, reminding Chase he was a worried father. Austin walked up holding Avery’s hand. Avery told her parents she went to see some balloons. He explained how he was out for a run and saw Avery by the lake with Pilar nowhere in sight and that he brought her the balloon with the condition she allowed him to bring her back to Pilar. And because Avery knew him, she agreed. Sonny asked Pilar what happened. Pilar explained she stopped to answer her phone thinking the call was from her grandmother but it turned out to be a telemarketer. Sonny scolded Avery for walking away. He told Ava that he would take Avery back to his house and she could visit her there later. Nina tried to use psychology on “Eddie” to convince Ned to leave Port Charles saying he wouldn’t want to go to a big city for a record deal with concerts but rather play at smaller locals as he wouldn’t want fame and recognition. Maxie returned to her office and found Brook Lynn gone but her salad was still there on the desk. She was surprised when she made a call about Brook Lynn being in her office and learned she hadn’t come in today even though Maxie saw her. Brook Lynn gave Tracy the flash drive and learned her grandmother was working with someone to uncover Deceptor’s secrets. While Lucy talked with Felicia, Mac gave Martin advice about crossing Ms. Coe. Ned told Sonny he had a deal. Drew came over Carly’s house to spend time with her before his stint at Pentonville began. Ava slapped Austin.

Thursday

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) arrived at Finn’s (Michael Easton) place because of the text he sent, but soon learned the text wasn’t from him. “Aunt Elizabeth, you’re right on time for your date, ” Violet (Jophelle Love) said. Carly (Laura Wright) sadly commented to Drew (Cameron Mathison) she couldn’t believe it was their last night together. “Ava we need to talk before you get us both killed.” Austin said through the door at Wyndemere. A GH, Portia (Brooke Kerr) told Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) she called her there to find out how she and Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) planned to co-parent Ace. Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer were at the bar to try to get evidence about Oz selling Esme the black market cellphone. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Dex (Evan Hofer) entered. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) were also at the bar. Austin told Ava how Mason would arrange a fatal accident for Pilar if he felt she stood in the way of them getting the information he needed. So, Austin figured it was better Pilar lose her job than her life. “What have you gotten me into?” Ava asked. Portia suggested Esme and Spencer take a parenting class. Spencer assured the evidence his Uncle Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) got would stand up under scrutiny. Dante told Sam as he was off the clock, he’s not worry what Spencer and company were doing there. “You’re going to prison and I don’t think I can live with that” Carly told Drew. Violet told Finn and Elizabeth it was a romantic dinner. She used Finn’s credit card to order flowers and would be their server. Finn helped Violet light the candles. Then the food (which she also ordered) arrived. Ava demanded to know who they were was Austin was referring to. Carly told Drew he shouldn’t have to pay for her choices. Portia suggested Esme take the parenting class brochure with her and show it to Spencer. Not liking what he was saying, Spencer punched Dex, who told him the first punch was free. When Spencer tried to punch him a second time, Dex ducked the blow and delivered one of his own, knocking Spencer to the floor. Dante came over. He showed his badge and told the bouncer he’d handle it because he knew them. Dante asked whether Dex wanted to press charges. Dex said no and decided it would be better if he and Josslyn left. Dante helped Spencer up and reminded a bar brawl wouldn’t look good for him as an ex-con. Trina was angry with Spencer for again being an entitled jerk and didn’t want to hear another apology. Then, she left the bar. Sam and Dante watched the scene in amusement. Ava questioned whether Austin was showing his true colors and only latched onto her to use her. Austin asked Ava whether she ever cared about him. Drew and Carly made love. Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) read a passage in his Bible. Sam and Dante talked about what happened between Trina and Spencer and commented how if they had a similar spat it would have turned out differently. Drew smiled that Josslyn was angry with Spencer for sucker punching him again. After putting Violet to bed, Finn gave Elizabeth the vase of flowers to take home. Trina came to see her mother and asked Portia how she was doing. She said she was supposed to be doing something with Spencer but left early because she wasn’t feeling it. Esme walked into Spencer’s room and noticed his bruises and asked what happened. Austin kissed Ava. He said he was fine. Cyrus told the guard that the new prisoner arriving tomorrow Drew Cain was a friend of his.

Friday

Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) left a voicemail message for Trina (Tabyana Ali). “Esme, Get Out!” he shouted when he saw her at his bedroom door. Violet (Jophelle Love) rushed out of her room and ran into Finn’s (Michael Easton) arms. “Aunt Elizabeth can’t leave…not yet, ” Violet said. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) came to see Sonny (Maurice Benard). Trina listened to Spencer’s voicemail. When Portia (Brooke Kerr) returned to the room, Trina told her mother “I know what Curtis did.” Zeke (Gavin Houston) called Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and asked whether she was free for dinner. Jordan told Zeke she wouldn’t be having dinner with him because it was over. Curtis (Donnell Turner) entered her office. After slapping Austin (Roger Howarth), he and Ava (Maura West) fell into bed. Violet told Finn she had the nightmare about The Shadow and both he and Aunt Elizabeth were gone. Sonny told Sasha that Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) didn’t think she was ready to end the guardianship. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) threw the ice packet at Spencer’s ribs and angrily asked whether he thought what would happen if he’d gotten arrested. When Trina asked why her mother wasn’t more angry and was letting Curtis off the hook, Portia told Trina it was none of her business. Jordan told Curtis she wasn’t the one who told Portia about their kiss. Austin thought it weird when Ava began making up the bed while he was still in. Ava said them sleeping together was a mistake and ordered him to leave. Jordan told Curtis his brother-in-law Zeke was the one who told Portia about their kiss. Portia told Trina she didn’t want her to have to take sides. When Trina didn’t take Spencer’s call, Portia asked whether they had a fight. “No, but Spencer did,” Trina answered. Esme read to Spencer the short and long term complications if he did seek medical attention for his ribs. And she didn’t want to have to take him to the emergency room in the middle of the night because that would throw off Ace’s schedule. Spencer commented he knew Esme didn’t care about him because all she saw was his father’s son. Elizabeth made Violet magic milk with the secret ingredient to help her go back to sleep. Sasha told Sonny how sometimes she was okay and sometimes she remembered missing Liam. Ava told Austin they were adults and could forget what happened between them. Jordan told Curtis how she met Zeke and vented to a stranger about kissing her ex. But once Portia introduced them, she asked Zeke not to say anything about the kiss but he obviously didn’t want to keep it from his sister. Portia commented how Spencer has changed and grown and part of that is because of her (Trina). Portia told Trina about Esme and Spencer taking a parenting class and reminded her daughter Esme would always be in Spencer’s life. Spencer told Esme about how they met and how he came to depend on her because she really listened to him and didn’t just tell him what he thought she wanted to hear. “You were my first love,” Spencer said. He told her a story about buying her expensive jewelry for her birthday. But the gift she really loved was the regifted snowglobe she used to admire in his room and he never understood why.. “That’s because the old Esme really liked you,” Esme said. Curtis warned Zeke if he continued to mettle in his life they’d have a problem. Zeke left her office after Jordan made it clear whatever happened between them was over. Trina told her mother she wanted a life with Spencer but wanted Esme not to be a part of it. Sasha thanked Sonny with a hug for listening and caring. Ava told Austin it was time to go but he didn’t think it fair he’d have to wake the launch guy to take him. Ava said he could swim. Austin smiled and said he couldn’t do that, adding he knows Ava will have a good night’s sleep.
