A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Kristina (Kate Mansi) came to see Sonny (Maurice Benard) at his office. He said it was always good to see her. Nina (Cynthia Watros) visited Cyrus (Jeff Kober). He said the Lord blessed him with a visitor. “Leave the Lord out of this…this is between you and me” Nina said. Laura (Genie Francis) asked Ava (Maura West) to drop the charges against Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). “And why would I do that?” Ava said. Josslyn (Temporarily being played by Courtney Fulk) learned from Adam’s (Joshua Benard) that he stormed out of there with his guitar and the roommate’s vodka. Ava told Laura she had no intention of dropping the charges because Esme deserved worse for what she did to Trina (Tabyana Ali). After Ava left to take a call, Laura came into the courtroom and asked Esme how she was holding up. Esme answered she’d be better if Spencer (Nicolas Chavez) was there with Ace like he promised. “Where is he?” Esme wondered. “Father” Spencer said when he opened the door to Nikolas (Adam Huss). “Hello Spencer,” Nikolas said. Cyrus told Nina she’ll feel better now that the truth’s out. Kristina told Sonny she was actually where she needed to be. Josslyn found Adam in Rice Park. Trina showed up at the courthouse and told Ava her dad told she should focus on her future. After assuring her Spencer would be there, Laura saw Martin (Michael E. Knight) she told Esme that she may get a miracle. After Spencer let him in, Nikolas thanked his son for taking care of Ace. Spencer told his father he thought so much what he’d say to him if he ever saw him again. Spencer told Nikolas there was only one thing left to say “I’m sorry.” Martin spoke with Molly (Kristen Vaganos) to negotiate a deal for Esme. Nikolas told Spencer although he appreciated his apology, he gave Esme an opening by his actions and letting her get in his head. Josslyn told Adam he needed to get some help. Cyrus told Nina he saw two children of God suffering and wanted to ease their pain. “If you’re truly sorry then prove it” Nina told Cyrus. Kristina told Sonny she wanted to make sure he was okay. Dressed as an orderly, Dex (Evan Hofer) got caught by a nurse, who asked why he wasn’t wearing a badge. Nina asked Cyrus to drop the charges against Sonny. Kristina told Sonny she was being selfish and was afraid he wouldn’t be there when she needed him to help her go through this whole surrogacy thing. She told Sonny he helped her find confidence in herself. Trina told Ava she didn’t know how she felt about Ava pressing charges against Esme because if she went to prison, Ace would be without his mother. They went inside when they heard the bailiff say “All rise.” Judge Thompson took the bench and asked “In the matter of the State of New York vs. Esme Prince, how does the defendant plead?” Nikolas assured Spencer he loved him and that would never change. They heard Ace crying on the baby monitor. “Sounds like Ace is awake,” Spencer said. “Can I meet him?” Nikolas asked. When Adam passed out, Josslyn found the empty pill containers and tried to get him to wake up. She called 911. Cyrus reminded Nina he was Sonny’s victim. “Why shouldn’t I seek justice?” Cyrus asked. “Because I can offer you something you want a whole lot more” Nina answered. Kristina talked about Sonny’s code of ethics. Esme pleaded guilty. Judge Thompson said he understood there was a plea deal reached before the hearing. Molly announced it was for six months probation with no jail time. Ava was furious and asked Laura what happened. Laura answered she advocated for justice. Nikolas was tearful as he held Ace for the first time, commenting how Ace looked like Spencer and had his grandmother’s nose. Kristina told Sonny that Nina acted vindictive and in the end didn’t get what she wanted and lost everything. Nina told Cyrus he had something she wanted and she was willing to give him something he wanted. Judge Thompson accepted the plea deal. Ava confronted Molly, who told her it wasn’t in the State’s best interest to pursue a case for such minor charges so justice was served. Spencer asked Nikolas to stay. Josslyn watched as the paramedics wheeled him away. Sonny called Dex and left a message that he needed for him to call it off. Before she had to go, Laura told Esme to put the past behind her and focus on her future. Esme turned around and found Trina sharing. Spencer told Nikolas maybe he’d be able to cut a deal like Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Or Diane (Carolyn Henessy) might be able to keep him out of jail like she has for Sonny. Spencer realized Nikolas had no intention of staying in Port Charles. Nikolas told Spencer he may be only passing through but this time was different because he was taking his sons with him when he left.

Tuesday

At GH, Dex (Evan Hofer) prepared to inject something into Cyrus’ IV with a syringe. Nina (Cynthia Watros) hid and watched Sonny (Maurice Benard) ask where Cyrus Renault’s room was. Sonny knocked on the glass to signal Dex to abort. Cyrus grabbed Dex by the arm and asked “What are you trying to do to me?” Josslyn (Temporarily being played by Courtney Fulk) asked Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) where Adam (Joshua Benard) was. Finn (Michael Easton) worked to revive Adam. Willow called Carly (Laura Wright) and asked her to come to General Hospital because Joss was there and may need her. Trina (Tabyana Ali) confronted Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) about her sentence. Esme said if she were in Trina’s position she wouldn’t be done with her until she was locked away forever. Nikolas (Adam Huss) told Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) that going away with him was the only way for them to be together as a family. Spencer told Nikolas he wasn’t running away with him because he wasn’t like him. “Don’t you realize…your brother is in danger if he stays here” Nikolas told Spencer. Adam’s blood pressure was dropping. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) left the room and got more information from Josslyn about Adam’s drug use and drinking. “Joss, how are you holding up?” Willow asked. “Adam’s been struggling for months. How could I not see it?” Josslyn said. Sonny entered the room and asked to speak with Mr. Renault alone. Cyrus told Sonny he had something to tell him. Trina told Esme “As much as I dislike you, I found myself agreeing with the judge.” Trina told Esme she was leaving Port Charles. She told Esme about being offered an opportunity to study at the Sorbonne. Esme congratulated her and commented Spencer would miss her while she was abroad. “Yeah he might…if he wasn’t coming with me” Trina told Esme. Elizabeth backed up Finn when a nurse questioned his medical decision. Carly rushed up to her daughter and took her in her arms. “Adam tried to kill himself. I found him in the park” Josslyn told her mother. Carly mouthed thank you to Willow. Nikolas told Spencer they both knew Esme’s true nature and she would cause more pain or do something far worse. Dex left the room. Sonny told Cyrus to just say what he needed to say. Nina ran into Dex and learned Sonny was in Cyrus’ room. Cyrus told Sonny he wouldn’t be pressing charges against him. Nikolas told Spencer if he stayed he’d go to prison and couldn’t fight for custody. He told Spencer it wasn’t about him…it was about him and Esme. Spencer reminded Nikolas at some point he’d have to face the consequences of his actions. Spencer received a call from Laura (Genie Francis) about the outcoming of the hearing. After hanging up, Spencer told Nikolas that Esme plead guilty and got six months probation so she was basically a free woman. Finn and Elizabeth came up to Carly and Josslyn. Finn told them they pumped Adam’s stomach and he’d make a full recovery. Finn said they needed to contact Adam’s parents. Josslyn told Finn he couldn’t do that because Adam’s parents were the reason this happened. Cyrus told Sonny he’d testified he provoked him into the attack. Cyrus told Sonny he cherished his life and wanted to keep living it. Cyrus told him that another person helped him see the error of his ways. He refused to say who and asked Sonny to let him keep his word because it was the only thing he had left. Nina told Dex she wasn’t giving up on Sonny and would do anything for the man she loved. Josslyn told Finn and Elizabeth that Adam was terrified of his parents. But legally Finn had to notify Adam’s parents. After Finn and Elizabeth left, Josslyn told Carly how Adam would never forgive her once he found out what she did. Esme told Trina that Ace was too little not to understand Spencer didn’t abandon him. Spencer thought about his recent conversations with Esme and told Nikolas that Esme might not be telling the truth about why she broke into Wyndemere. He told his father how Esme called him Spence. Nikolas told Spencer that was proof Esme got her memories back. “Do you really want to risk your brother’s life for Esme?” Nikolas asked Spencer. Carly told Josslyn that Adam was clearly crying out for help. Dex told Sonny he knew he convinced Cyrus to drop the charges. He looked towards the direction where Nina was standing. Trina told Esme she and Spencer never questioned her abilities as a mom, adding they were only thinking about Ace and didn’t think about her at all. “I gotta go. Congratulations Esme…you got what you wanted” Trina said then left the courtroom. Nikolas told Spencer they were running out of time and asked him to let him be a father to his sons. Finn thanked Elizabeth for backing him up with the nurse. Willow told Josslyn she could see Adam. Josslyn said she had to grab something from her car first. “What did you do…what did you promise Cyrus?” Sonny asked Nina who answered nothing she could afford to part with. Nina told Sonny all she was trying to do was clean up the mess she made. “Next time you get the urge to help me…don’t” Sonny said, adding this was his life and ordering her to stay away from his business and him. Finn told Elizabeth helping Adam reminded him of what he’d lose if he could no longer be a doctor. Josslyn returned with Adam’s guitar and told Willow and Carly she needed to see him alone. Josslyn told Adam she brought his guitar from the park and promised to stay with him until he woke up. Spencer finally agreed to let his father take Ace with him. “His bag is in his room,” Spencer told Nikolas. When they were alone, Spencer told Ace to remember he had an older brother who loved him very much. When Nikolas came back into the room, Spencer warned his father if he ever hurt Ace or abandoned him “I will find you and I will make you pay.” “I know that,” Nikolas said. Nikolas asked Spencer to come with him. He promised one day they’d be back. Spencer told Nikolas it was most important that he made sure he looked after Ace. Then, Nikolas left with Ace. Elizabeth told Finn the doctor Mr. Muldoon saw in Beecher’s Corners was in Port Charles and was willing to meet with them. “This may be your best chance to beat the malpractice suit,” Elizabeth said. Willow told Carly parents may only want the best for their children but can still let them down. Nina came to see Cyrus and told him he has his television time slot to spread his word. Sonny told Dex he was impressed by him and his willingness to follow his orders. Dex still had a question “What are you going to do about Cyrus?” “I’m going to make that bastard wish I didn’t stop you from putting him out of his misery” Sonny answered. When Trina entered Adam’s room, Josslyn told her friend she didn’t have any idea what she was going to say to him when he woke up. Spencer noticed one of Ace’s favorite toys on the floor and rushed to catch up with Nikolas to give it to him. As he opened the door, Spencer found Esme on the other side starting to knock on it.

Wednesday

Carly (Laura Wright) lit candles in the hospital chapel. “Miss you mom…miss you so much” she said emotionally. Drew (Cameron Mathison) entered and comforted her. Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) thought about when she learned Michael (Chad Duell) blackmailed Nina (Cynthia Watros). She took a call from Michael who told her about the puppet show Wiley was putting on for Amelia. He told Willow he missed her. Finn (Michael Easton) told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) he didn’t think she should be there when the doctor got there because things could get dicey. Dr. Sawyer arrived. Finn told Dr. Sawyer her input on a patient could be life altering. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) was miffed with Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) because he never showed up at court like he promised. Spencer suggested they talk first but she said she had nothing to say to him. “Look I don’t know what’s going on with you but I want my son and I want him now” Esme said. Spencer asked about the hearing. Esme answered a few questions then said she was taking her son home. Spencer told her she couldn’t. Finn handed Dr. Sawyer Mr. Muldoon’s patient file and told her about the malpractice case. Dr. Sawyer asked Finn whether he was hoping she could provide information to assist with his defense then said she couldn’t help him. Carly told Drew about how Adam’s (Joshua Bernard) parents pushed him into trying to kill himself. Carly talked about her kids and commented how she couldn’t ask for a better son. Michael wanted Willow to come home to talk but she told him she was working. Willow was annoyed when Nina approached her. When Ned (Wally Kurth) and Tracy (Jane Eliott) entered, Michael asked Ned to return the proxy he gave him, adding he may lose the thing he loved the most so at the very least, Ned could lose ELQ. Carly demanded Nina leave Willow alone. Nina announced Michael knew she told the SEC about them and said nothing. Ned reminded Michael how he kept the truth from his mother and Drew. Before Dr. Sawyer left, Elizabeth asked her to hear her out. “I’m bringing my son home where he belongs,” Esme told Spencer. “Ace’s home isn’t with you. Not anymore” Spencer said. Drew and Cary didn’t believe Nina’s claim that Michael knew. After they left, Willow told Nina if she hadn’t lost her before she lost her now. Elizabeth told Dr. Sawyer there was no worse feeling than knowing you can save someone but couldn’t. Spencer told Esme that Ace was gone and with their father. Tracy told Michael she was proud of him because with that deal he proved himself to be a true Quartermaine. Drew and Carly entered just as Michael was saying why he gave Nina his silence. Ned and Tracy left the room so Michael could talk with Drew and Carly alone. Carly commented how she called Nina a liar but for the first time in her life she was telling the truth. Willow told Nina the person she hurt the most was herself. Finn and Dr. Sawyer spoke in hypotheticals in order not to violate doctor patient confidentiality. Esme prepares to call the police and report Nikolas (Adam Huss) for kidnapping. But Spencer confronted her about calling him Spence. “The old Esme. The one who lived to do her father’s bidding.” Elizabeth posed a procedural question in hypotheticals, asking Dr. Sawyer when she referred a patient whether there was a way to know if that patient saw the referral. Spencer told Esme she was back to being a puppet for her father. Esme realized Spencer gave Nikolas her son. Willow told Nina she wanted nothing more to do with her. Tracy told Ned he’d better be prepared once Michael turned his attention back to ELQ. Drew angrily accused Michael of putting Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) happiness over him and his mother and asked how he could do that. After Dr. Sawyer left, Finn and Elizabeth speculated over why Mr. Muldoon kept secret about seeing Dr. Sawyer and the referral she gave him. Esme vowed Spencer would go back to prison for helping his father kidnap her son. Spencer countered by saying if she went to the police he’d tell them she got her memory back and she’d be accountable for all the crimes she committed. “Can you really afford to risk it?” Spencer asked as Esme left. Tracy told Ned she was pleased Michael and Drew were at each other’s throats because it strengthens their position. “Because the only way you come out on top is if you’re standing on everybody else. Right?” Tracy told Ned. “You got a point,” Ned answered with a smile. Nina told Willow she’d always be there for her if she needed her. Carly told Drew she needed to talk with her son. Drew left. “So…where do we go from here?” Michael asked Carly.

Thursday

Carly (Laura Wright) and Michael (Chad Duell) discussed keeping the secret about Nina (Cynthia Watros) turning she and Drew (Cameron Mathison) over to the SEC. He called himself a giant hypocrite. TJ (Taj Bellows) had dinner with Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and told her if everything went according to plan her grandchild was conceived tonight. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) came to see Kristina (Kate Mansi) and asked whether she wanted to come out and play. Drew (Cameron Mathison) joined Anna (Finola Hughes) at the bar at Charlie’s. After ordering scotch neat, Drew told Anna he had a tough decade. He apologized for bringing her down. But Anna said she related to everything he said. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) came to see Cyrus (Jeff Kober) in the hospital and said she needed his help. “My baby’s gone. He’s been kidnapped by his own father” Esme told Cyrus. TJ asked Jordan what she thought about Kristina being their surrogate. Blaze apologized for not calling first then asked Kristina “Why does it feel like you started pulling away?” Esme told Cyrus while she was in court, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) was conspiring with his father to steal her baby then threatened to have her old charges reinstated if she went to the police. Carly told Michael if with the best of intentions keeping things buried has consequences. “And nothing never stays buried,” Michael added. Kristina told Blaze that she pulled away because Blaze pulled away, reminding her how she dropped her hand like it was on fire when they were in Rice Plaza. Blaze told Kristina how she didn’t like public displays of affection and likes to keep her private life private. “Can’t you be a little patient?” Blaze asked. “I don’t know,” Kristina answered. Jordan asked TJ if her opinion changed her mind. “From where I’m sitting, you’re doing just fine determining your own life,” Jordan told TJ. Carly assured Michael loving him unconditionally would never change. “Even if the man you love doesn’t feel the same?” Michael asked. Anna told Drew shooting Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) was the worst moment of her life. She said what she was feeling mostly right now was anger. “You can’t let Nina damage this family more than she already has” Carly told Michael, who went upstairs to tuck in his kids. Anna told Drew that anger was a byproduct of fear. Drew told Anna talking to her made him realize he had to get the toxicity out of his life. Jordan explained to TJ the alerts she’s been getting on her phone were about helping Curtis (Donnell Turner) investigate his shooting. “A rap sheet doesn’t preclude morality of motherhood” Cyrus told Esme. Kristina told Blaze although she liked her a lot “I don’t think that’s going to be enough.” Kristina told Blaze it was probably best that they called it. Before she left, Blaze told Kristina “I should have held your hand at Rice Plaza and never let go.” When he came back downstairs, Carly told Michael the silver lining was she didn’t have to coexist with Nina anymore. Before leaving, Carly told Michael that closure came from letting go and she suggested he did the same. Anna told Drew he had something who loved and supported him. Esme reminded Cyrus that Ace was their family and had been taken from both of them. “Are you going to let that stand?” Esme asked Cyrus. Kristina talked with the baby even though she wasn’t sure it was in her stomach and asked whether she did the right thing. There was a knock on the door. It was Blaze. Carly arrived at Charlie’s. Drew assured Carly he and Michael would work things out but the bulk of his anger was directed towards Nina. He told Carly he couldn’t put Nina in his rearview window. Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) came to the Quartermaine mansion. “I want the truth from you Michael always” Willow told Michael. They were interrupted by Wiley who asked whether it was time to go home. Two men cornered Jordan in the alley. “Going somewhere?” one of them asked. Blaze asked Kristina to take a chance with her. Blaze told Kristina she brought ingredients to make her an in vitro healthy meal. Wiley asked when they would all be together again. Before leaving, Esme told Cyrus “No offense, but I’m not going to waste time praying when I could be doing.” Cyrus made a call and told the person he left the message for that it was of vital importance they came to see him when they got the message. Anna left a voicemail for Jordan. The two men dragged Jordan away.

Friday

Laura (Genie Francis) visited Cyrus (Jeff Kober) and asked why he called her last night asking her to come their first thing in the morning. “Because there is a lost soul in need of your help” Cyrus told Laura. Just then, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) entered the room. “Welcome nephew…you’re right on time” Cyrus said. Ava (Maura West) was surprised to see Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) at the gallery and told her she wasn’t welcome there. “Please Ava, don’t kick me out. I need your help” Esme said. Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) told Adam (Joshua Benard) he was at GH because his friend saved his life. Carly (Laura Wright) was conducting interviews to hire an assistant at Kelly’s. Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrived, commenting on how underwhelmed Carly looked over that last interview. Nina (Cynthia Watros) was surprised to find movers in her office packing her stuff. She threatened to call security. Drew (Cameron Mathison) entered. He gave the movers some money and suggested they take a break. Then, Drew told Nina she was fired. Dex (Evan Hofer) found Josslyn (Temporarily being played by Courteny Fulk) in GH’s chapel. Josslyn told Dex she needed to apologize to Adam. Willow told Adam he was lucky to be alive. “Lucky me,” Adam said. When Sam told her she was meeting Drew there, Carly said “I hate to break it to you Sam, you’re going to be waiting a long time for Drew.” Nina told Drew he was making a big mistake and asked what he thought Michael (Chad Duell) would say about this. “Hooray,” Drew answered. Spencer told Laura he saw his father. Esme told Ava that Nikolas (Adam Huss) kidnapped her son. Spencer told Laura why Nikolas was in Port Charles. “He came to take Ace with him and I let him.” Dex explained to Josslyn how Adam felt ashamed for letting his parents down. She suggested they go see how he was doing. When Portia (Brooke Kerr) entered, Adam asked Dr. Robinson to sign him out. Willow left to get the attendant to evaluate him. Portia told Adam they wanted the best outcome for him and if it was determined he was a threat to him or someone else they couldn’t let him leave. Adam pleaded with Portia not to contact his parents. Ava told Esme that Nikolas came to see her but left and she’d never find him. Laura was furious with Spencer for handing Ace over to Nikolas. Spencer told Laura he knew the truth about Esme. “She’s been lying. She remembers everything.” Portia told Adam since he was over eighteen they couldn’t share any of his medical information. Before she left, Portia urged Adam to be honest with the doctor evaluating him, his parents and himself. Adam’s father arrived at GH and demanded to see his son. Sam told Carly how things have been really tense with Drew since he’s gotten back from Pentonville. Nina called Crimson her baby and reminded Drew how profitable she’s made Aurora’s flagship company. Carly told Sam they needed to give Drew some grace and double down on his support. Sam asked Carly whether she had any idea how to help Drew. Drew said insecurity was the reason Nina wanted to get Carly out of the picture. Drew told Nina he’d do anything to make her pay for what she’s done. Adam’s father asked Josslyn what she knew about his son. Ava assured Esme she didn’t help Nikolas kidnap her son. Esme told Ava she’d do whatever it took to find her son then announced she had a dangerous ally in Cyrus Renault. Spencer told Laura how Esme called him Spence, something she hasn’t done since she lost her memory. Laura reminded Spencer he gave away Esme’s son on a suspicion he couldn’t prove. Sam told Carly she needed to make sure helping Drew didn’t come at her own expense. Drew told Nina she either signed the termination agreement or Crimson and all its staff would be out of business. Josslyn angrily told Adam’s father Mr. Wright that Adam tried to kill himself last night. Laura told Spencer he should have come to her with his suspicions about Esme. And because Nikolas was on the run and being pursued by the police so Ace has never been in any more danger. Mr. Wright threatened to sue GH if Josslyn came anywhere near Ada. Portia suggested Mr. Wright go with him to her office and she’d explain the situation about Adam. Esme cried that her baby was gone and she was all alone . Laura called Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and told her her grandson Ace had been taken. Nina signed the termination agreement. But it was a trick, Drew assured Crimson was always going to be just fine. Nina shouted that Crimson was her magazine and she was irreplaceable. “And yet I’ve already replaced you” Drew told Nina as Carly smugly entered the office “Nina, meet Crimson’s new Editor in Chief.”
