A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Cyrus (Jeff Kober) came to see Laura (Genie Francis). He was surprised she had invited him. Portia (Brooke Kerr) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) entered Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) hospital room at GH. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told Tracy (Jane Eliott) how Lucy (Lynn Herring) approached her about helping her gain control of Deception because she knew something Tracy didn’t. Anna (Finola Hughes), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and John (Adam Harrington) bursted into the mob meeting with guns drawn. The shooter told his boss that although they were late to the party, he could still take the shot. The boss was revealed to be Jason (Steve Burton). Brook Lynn told Tracy she hated she blackmailed her into betraying her friends. Heather asked Elizabeth to stay while Portia examined her for hip pain she was experiencing and needed an MRI. She said the cuffs were chafing her wrists and asked whether they could be taken off for now. Since his microphone had gotten knocked off by Heather Webber, Laura asked Cyrus to walk her through his conversation with gun runner O’Neill. Selina (Lydia Look) told John she and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were conducting a business meeting regarding a poker game. Ava (Maura West) told Anna she was a fan of Texas Hold’em. The shooter trained his sight on Sonny. Brook Lynn told Tracy she enjoyed having her as a mentor and felt Deception deserved better than Lucy. She told Tracy she couldn’t picture herself running Deception in the long term. “Things need to change,” Brook Lynn said. “I have a proposition for you,” Tracy said. Cyrus swore on his mother’s life that he did as Laura asked and said why couldn’t she believe him. Portia ordered an MRI for Heather and told Elizabeth the sooner they got Heather back to Pentonville the better. Jason put his hand on the shooter, causing the shot to jerk. Tracy told Brook Lynn if she didn’t find joy in the art of guiding Deception’s vision as a CEO, she would sell her shares back to Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson)…Lucy would get nothing. Tracy called her granddaughter a smart woman and wanted running Deception something they could do together. Laura and Cyrus arrived at GH with Ace, who was running a fever. When Heather was wheeled out for her MRI, she saw Ace and ordered Cyrus to get away from her grandson. Chase (Josh Swickward) told everyone in the warehouse that Dante went after the two figures who left the roof and were making their way to the docks. Dante ordered one of the men (Jason) to put his hands on his head and turn away. He was shocked to come face-to-face with Jason. The shooter opened fire on Dante, who fell to the ground. Jason went to check his pulse. But the shooter ordered Jason to leave him and get out of there. Heather accused Laura of wanting Ace all to herself which is why she didn’t protect Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl). Laura went to have Ace looked at. Portia told the orderly to take Heather to radiology and told Cyrus he could wait for Laura in the waiting room. Cyrus asked about Curtis (Donnell Turner). Brook Lynn accepted Tracy’s deal and then asked whether she asked Gregory (Gregory Harrison) to the wedding. John told Sonny it looked like his plan worked…just not the way he wanted. Portia refused to believe Cyrus’ claim he’s changed. She told him if he wanted to help he’d stay away from her and her family. Brook Lynn encouraged Tracy to let Gregory know her feelings. Ava told John as Sonny was the intended victim he should be protecting him and not harassing him. Jason shot the shooter. Laura told Cyrus how the pediatrician was getting an x-ray of Ace’s lungs. Cyrus confronted Laura who cried how Esme was willing to die trying to get her son back and she took Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) with her. Heather used a paperclip she had hidden to unlock the cuff. Tracy told Brook Lynn she wore her heart on her sleeve and that could be dangerous. Chase announced they haven’t heard from Dante. Meanwhile, Jason told a bleeding Dante to take it easy.

Tuesday

Marshall (Robert Gossett) urged Curtis (Donnell Turner) to give Trina (Tabayana Ali) some time, adding time heals all wounds. “Says the man who should know. Did you tell him?” Stella (Vernee Watson) asked Marshall. Laura (Genie Francis) found Cyrus (Jeff Kober) at the GH chapel. He told her there was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved. Or to those who hurt them. Heather (Alley Mills) worked to remove the handcuff with a paperclip before she was transferred back to Pentonville. Dex (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) were on their way back to Port Charles. Sonny (Maurice Benard) said Jagger (Adam Harrington) should tell them (Ava and Anna) what it had to do with and it wasn’t an investigation. “This has to do with Karen Wexler,” Sonny said. Jason (Steve Burton) called 911 to report Dante was shot twice in the chest. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) talked about Scout’s birthday party. Their conversation turned to Dante. Olivia told Sam about little boy Dante and said she was glad he found Sam. White awaiting the ambulance, Jason tried to stop Dante’s bleeding. Josslyn heard about the waterfront shooting. Dex wanted to let her off at the next exit and suggested she take a rideshare from there. But Josslyn said they were sticking to the plan. Sonny told Jagger to tell Ava (Maura West) and Anna (Finola Hughes) about what happened with Karen (Cari Shayne). Laura assured Cyrus that Heather was on her way back to prison and wouldn’t get anywhere near Ace. Heather asked the guard to get her a glass of water. When his back was turned, she tried to subdue him. With the guard unconscious on the floor, Heather snuck out of her hospital room. Stella told Curtis how Marshall was misdiagnosed. She told Curtis and Marshall she was able to piece together his medical records and found the so-called specialist who signed off on his schizophrenia diagnosis. But Marshall didn’t want to track down the doctor. As he heard the ambulance approaching, Jason told Dante to hang on. John told Ava and Anna about Karen and Sonny’s history and said “That’s the man you’re standing next to. And that’s the man you’ve been defending.” Sonny said that was thirty years ago and he wished he’d done things differently. John called Sonny “The Pied Piper From Hell” who took damaged kids and led them astray on the pretense of wanting to help them. Dex and Josslyn found Dante on Pier 55. Dex told Josslyn someone did a field dressing but he had a collapsed lung. Josslyn spoke with the paramedics and told them to hurry. Olivia talked about when Dante had PSTD. Laura received a text from Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) that Ace just had a bad ear infection. She told Cyrus she liked how he was when he was thinking about Ace…it was like he was part of a family. Laura left the chapel. Shortly after, Cyrus heard the chapel door open. “Forget something” Cyrus asked. “Never” Heather answered. Heather told Cyrus she was there to pray for an answer. She pulled out a surgical cleaver, determined to make Cyrus pay. John told Sonny he used Stone as his ticket to respectability. And because Robin (Kimberly McCullough) canonized him for being there when Stone died when Anna wasn’t, she defends him. “Are you finished Agent Cates?!” Anna angrily asked. Chase (Josh Swickward) found Dex and Josslyn with Dante. Josslyn told Chase to help Dex with chest compressions while she did rescue breathing. Olivia told Sam she was grateful she was in Dante’s life. “Long overdue. So thank you Sam. Thank you for giving me my son back” Olivia told Sam. The paramedics finally arrived. Josslyn told Chase someone tried to stop Dante’s bleeding and called 911. After John left to speak with CSI, Ava told Anna Agent Chase couldn’t be objective. Anna had to leave to take a phone call. Ava told Sonny an FBI Agent with a grudge was a bad enemy to have. Heather vowed to avenge Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) and to become a mother to her son. But Cyrus wouldn’t be alive to see it. Heather lunged for Cyrus. But Laura, who had returned to the GH chapel, hit her over the head and Heather fell to the floor. Sonny told Ava she had to get to Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to get the video footage before Agent Cates confiscated it. After Ava walked away, Anna told Sonny there was a squad car waiting to take them to GH because Dante’s been shot and was in critical condition. An officer had Heather cuffed again. Laura felt badly for hitting Heather over the head and worried she’d hurt her. Heather suddenly complained she couldn’t breathe and fell to the floor. Dex and Josslyn came to the Quartermaine mansion and told Sam and Olivia that Dante was shot. CSI found the camera set up for Sonny’s sting. John wanted to know where the feed led to. Jason touched his side and had blood on his hand.

Wednesday

Anna (Finola Hughes) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) arrived at GH. Chase (Josh Swickward) told Sonny that even though Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) was wearing a bulletproof vest, they were piercing rounds. Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Alexis (Nancy Grahan) to make time for the person she wanted her to meet. “I know what you’ve been up to,” Maxie (Kristen Storms) told Cody (Josh Kelly) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Ava (Maura West) knocked on the door of his apartment and told Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to open up. “Sonny sent me,” Ava said. Chase told Anna and Sonny that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn Jaxs (Eden McCoy) were working on Dante when he arrived. Portia (Brooke Kerr) and her team were in the trauma room trying to save Dante’s life. Nina introduced Alexis to Adrian DeWitt, a social observer aka gossip communist. Maxie told Cody and Sasha that she and Spinelli finally broke down and admitted they love each other. “And now we’ve never been further apart,” Maxie said. Ava offered her help to Spinelli as he explained he had to download twelve cameras of video footage onto a separate server. Sam (Kelly Monaco), Olivia (Lisa LoCierco), Dex and Josslyn entered GH. Olivia asked Sonny whether he had anything to do with Dante being shot. Maxie told Cody and Sasha how Spinelli manipulated her by lying burst pipes flooding his apartment in order to move in to help with her finances. Sasha understood not wanting to feel like a damsel in distress. Maxie said she didn’t like being handled. Adrian explained to Alexis why social observers or more than gossip communists. Olivia told Sonny they’ve been here before. We saw a flashback to when Sonny shot Dante before learning he was his son. After Sam and Olivia walked away, Sonny told Anna how he blamed himself for Dante’s shooting. After Adrian left The Invader, Alexis reminded Nina she had final say on editorial matters. Maxie told Cody and Sasha to concentrate inwards instead of her love life then left Deception. Ava and Spinelli were shocked by the drone video footage from the roof. Portia announced Dante was in critical condition before he was taken to the OR. Ava asked Spinelli whether someone could have tampered with the video of the footage. Spinelli said there wasn’t enough time. Maxie knocked on his apartment door. Ava left. Maxie asked Spinelli what Ava was doing there. Sonny went to GH chapel and prayed for Dante’s life. Olivia soon joined him. Cody and Sasha admitted helping Maxie and Spinelli gave them time to spend together. Nina told Alexis she had to trust her. Alexis received a call. Sam told Portia how she’s spent a lot of time in GH waiting for word about someone she loved. Anna told Chase and Josslyn’s statement and thanked them for saving Dante’s life. Olivia apologized to Sonny for blaming him for the shooting when Dante was doing his job as a good cop. She left the chapel to take a call as Ava appeared. Ava told Sonny she and Spinelli found something he needed to see. Maxie tells Spinelli she wanted to talk about how they left things. But he was distracted. “It looks like you’ve seen a ghost,” Maxie said. “I have,” Spinelli said. Sasha reminded Cody how she hasn’t been ready to move on with anyone. But she said they both could agree they didn’t have to make excuses to spend time together. Alexis told Nina about the shooting and how Dante was the person shot. Spinelli told Maxie it was impossible what he saw because it was truly a ghost. Maxie asked what he saw. Ava told Sonny she and Spinelli were able to identify the shooter but he needed to see it for himself. “It’s him isn’t it? Jason” Ava said.

Thursday

Jordan (Tanisha Harper) arrived at GH and told Laura (Genie Francis) the search for the shooter is ongoing. “When they find the monster who did this to my son I want them locked up” Olivia (Lisa LoCierco). Laura told Sam (Kelly Monaco) they’d all be there to support her. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) came to GH. Not only was she worried about Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) because he was like a brother to her, she knew he was worried about his partner. “And when you hurt, I hurt,” Brook Lynn said, hugging Chase (Josh Swickward). Danny told Drew (Cameron Mathison) he was worried about Rocco because he was having trouble processing what was happening with his dad. Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) showed Maxie (Kristen Storms) the video footage. She couldn’t believe it when she saw Jason (Steve Burton). Sonny (Maurice Benard) told Ava (Maura West) as video footage could be manipulated, why should he believe it was Jason. Drew told Carly (Laura Wright) he was worried about Rocco and Danny. Sam called Drew and asked about Danny and Rocco. He told her they needed a hug. Sam said help was on the way. After hanging up the phone, Sam came to Laura and said she needed her to do something for her. “I need you to leave,” Sam told a surprised Laura. Chase left to donate blood because he felt he had to do something to help. Brook Lynn asked Jordan as a cop how she dealt with when someone she cared about was hurt. The FBI knocked on the door of Spinelli’s apartment. He pushed a button on his computer. John (Adam Harrington) told Spinelli they had a search warrant. Ava told Sonny how Spinelli told her the drone footage couldn’t be doctored. And if he was the target of the shooting, “Your best friend is now your enemy” Ava said. Sam assured Olivia that Dante was a fighter. Jordan urged Brook Lynn not to make the same mistake she made with Curtis (Donnell Turner) with Chase. She told Brook Lynn to be supportive of Chase and honest with him with her feelings. Laura came to the Quartermaine mansion and told Drew and Carly that Sam asked her to come. She suggested to Drew they divide and conquer with him taking Danny and she dealing with her grandson. When Rocco entered the room, Laura told him his father had a fight on his hands. John told Spinelli his DNA was found on the camera they recovered and asked for the footage. Spinelli said he’d love to help the FBI but couldn’t as he showed his computer that indicated no footage was available. Sonny insisted Jason wouldn’t do this to him. Ava told Sonny then he had to ask himself why Jason hadn’t come to him if he knew someone was gunning for him. Portia (Brooke Kerr) gave an update saying although he wasn’t out of the woods yet, Dante’s vitals were good. Carly asked Danny how he was doing and asked “Has anyone ever told you you’re a lot like your dad?” Laura told Rocco “It’s okay to be scared because it’s a scary situation.” John questioned Spinelli about the kill switch he had activated on his computer if he got out. Maxie re-introduced herself to John, commenting how her stepfather Mac Scorpio (John J. York) always respected him. And because she grew up with Mac, she’d never do anything to interfere with an investigation so they could forget this ever happened. John told Maxie to give Mac his best and tell him he’s sorry he had to arrest his stepdaughter for obstruction of justice. Ava reminded Sonny how Jason knew his security and Spinelli refers to him as Stone Cold and the person after him went by Stone. Ava asked Sonny what if Jason is now using his skills to take him down. Laura told Danny they couldn’t give up hope. Carly told Danny that sitting around there waiting is where he should be because Rocco needed him. Chase told Brook Lynn it wasn’t too late to admit the life of a cop’s wife wasn’t what she signed up on. Maxie told John she and Spinelli were a team. John told Spinelli he may have deleted the footage and it may take their experts awhile to retrieve it but they would and would follow the trail to wherever it led. Ava asked Sonny what if Jason survived the tunnel collapse and has come back to settle the score. Brook Lynn told Chase she loved him and wanted to share everything with him including her fear. Olivia told Sam how much Dante loves being a cop. She recalled how she bursted into tears when he told her he wanted to be a cop. “It’s Dante the cop and I think he wouldn’t have it any other way” Sam said. Laura suggested taking Rocco home with her, but he wanted to stay at the Quartermaine mansion. Maxie let it slip that they were protecting a close friend. Spinelli didn’t want Maxie to be incarcerated and confessed there was a drone and he made a backup. He gave John the password which was m-a-x-i-m-i-s-t-a. Maxie was touched. Ava said if Sonny trusted Jason, she had to too but urged him to be careful. “If I didn’t know any better I’d think you cared about me” Sonny said. “You’re not just the mother of my child, you’re the woman I love” Spinelli told Maxie. Then, they kissed. John looked at the footage on the drone and said now they’re going after Jason Morgan. Laura said it was a good sign Rocco wanted to be there for Scout. Rocco looked at a picture of Dante on his cellphone and moved closer to Danny on the couch. Portia announced Dante was being moved to the ICU. Sonny commented to Ava it would be funny if she were the only person he could trust.

Friday

Molly (Kate Mansi) and Alexis (Nancy Grahan) arrived at GH to support Sam (Kelly Monaco), who said she had good news. John (Adam Harrington) showed Anna (Finola Hughes) the surveillance footage captured by Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) drone. “Is that Jason Morgan?” Anna asked. Michael (Chad Duell) wanted to go to GH. But Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) told Michael it was better if he stayed there. Ava (Maura West) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) appeared as though they were about to kiss. Carly (Laura Wright) turned around as she started walking up the stairs and saw Jason (Steve Burton). Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) returned to the chapel and interrupted Ava and Sonny. She told them Dante survived the surgery and was being moved to the ICU. Alexis told Sam to take all the time she needed before going to see Dante. Dex (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) came to the Quartermaine gatehouse and told them they had news about the shooter. John asked Anna whether she knew of any place Jason Morgan would go. Anna said he’d go to Sonny or Sam and there’s one other place. Carly ran to Jason and hugged him. “Is it really you?” Carly asked. “It’s really me,” Jason answered. Carly noticed he’d been shot. Jason told her the bullet went clear through but he needed a bandage. Carly asked Jason to promise he’d still be there while she went to get the bandage. After hearing from Dex and Josslyn how the shooter bandaged Jason and called 911, Michael wondered whether the shooter knew Dante. Sonny and Olivia went to see Dante. Ava told Nina what happened on the pier. Diane (Carolyn Henessey) had been avoiding Alexis because she thought her friend was angry with her because she represented the Muldoons against Finn (Michael Easton). Alexis told Diane she knew her better than she thought. Alexis vented about Nina. Kristina spoke with an unconscious Dante while Sam watched. Carly told Jason about Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) dying. Suddenly, Anna knocked on the door. Sam sat by Dante’s bedside and held his hand. Jason hid on the stairs while Anna and John entered Carly’s house. Anna urged Carly to sit down then told her Jason was alive. Nina wanted Ava to tell her who was gunning for her husband. Josslyn blamed Sonny and his world for Dante’s shooting. Diane told Sonny that she doubted Agent Cates would give him beyond tomorrow before questioning him. Anna showed Carly the video footage of Jason. Nina worried the longer Sonny stayed away from her his feelings for her would cool. Ava vowed they wouldn’t let that happen. Carly refused to let Anna and John search her house. But they told her asking was a courtesy because they had a search warrant.
