A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Jason (Steve Burton) exchanged gunfire with shooters at the Corinthos Coffee warehouse. Carly (Laura Wright) asked Sonny (Maurice Benard) what he planned to do if Jason didn’t sell his share of the business back to him. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) told Kristina (Kate Mansi) that Molly (Kristen Vaganos) knew what happened. “I told her,” Blaze admitted. Natalia (Eva LaRue) surprised Ava (Maura West) when she arrived at Sonny’s penthouse. Jack (Charled Mesure) picked the lock of his handcuff then found some hospital scrubs. Jason checked the pulse of the man he shot and aimed his gun when he heard a noise at the door. It was Anna, who explained she came there to ask him more questions about Dex (Evan Hofer) when she heard gunfire and drew her gun. Carly gave Sonny a reality check “You’ve never had a friend like Jason and you never will.” Sonny told Carly he was on his way to see Blaze. Carly said she hoped he wasn’t planning to ask Blaze to put in a good word with Kristina for him. Kristina told Blaze how Molly as ADA could choose to prosecute her dad without Dex pressing charges. Natalia told Ava she picked up a bottle of single malt scotch as a thankyou to Sonny for taking her to the wedding. Jack met Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) in the stairwell. “The last time we talked we agreed we weren’t going to see each other face to face so this better be important” Valentin told Jack. “I have information that couldn’t wait,” Jack told Valentin. “It came from Carly Spencer.” Jack told Valentin he now knew the agency that was investigating Pikeman: The FBI. He explained how that dispatched Agent John Cates. Anna began questioning Jason at the PCPD interrogation room until Diane (Carolyn Henessy) arrived. “I know what’s best for my daughter” Sonny told Carly then walked away. He received a call from Brick (Stephen A. Smith) about the shooting. Kristina angrily told Blaze she trusted her more than anyone. When Sonny called, Jason urged Diane to meet him at the warehouse to make sure he didn’t say the wrong thing. Before leaving, Diane wanted Jason to think about the fact that while he was worrying about protecting Sonny, Sonny could be ordering a hit on him. Ava told Natalia how Kristina used to be a bit of a wild child. Natalia commented how Allie and Kristina had an unconventional relationship. Ava told Natalia how Sonny was supportive of Kristina’s sexuality. Carly talked with Kristina when she arrived in the lobby. They talked about her pregnancy. Carly told Kristina the baby and her father would always be a part of her. Anna returned to the interrogation room. She showed Jason a mugshot for the dead shooter and asked whether he knew the man. Jason commented he’s been away for a long time. But they both knew who the man had worked for. Diane entered the warehouse of Corinthos Coffee and told Detective Bennett she needed to speak with her client alone. Then, Diane asked Sonny whether he was responsible for it. Anna asked Jason how long his loyalty to Sonny would last. Valentin told Jack once Sonny eliminated Jason he’d get word to him in Pentonville. Valentin urged Jack to stay strong “I’ve got everything under control” Valentin said. Kristina told Carly now that her eyes were wide open, she would never see her dad the same way again. Kristina asked Carly whether she (Carly) ever really knew her dad even though she loved him once. Natalia commented to Ava that gay people were flighty. She said so be it if her way of thinking was considered old fashioned. “What if the person you used to know no longer exist?” Anna asked, saying it was an illusion. A cop brought in a burner phone that was found from the dead man. Anna put on rubber gloves to check it. “I enjoyed our chat. We should do it again sometime” Ava told Natalia as she showed her out. Then, Ava picked up her cellphone and listened to a recording of Natalia saying gay people were flighty. Carly told Kristina she had to decide whether what she learned about her dad would fit in a relationship with him and if it didn’t, could she live without having her dad in her life? Anna dialed the one program phone number and was shocked when Valentin answered and asked “Is it done?”

Tuesday

“That wasn’t Sonny who picked up” Jason (Steve Burton) said. “No it wasn’t” Anna (Finola Hughes) said. “Who was it?” Jason asked. Drew (Cameron Mathison) came to see Carly (Laura Wright) and told her he was thinking of running for congress because an opportunity came up. She was surprised when Drew told her Nina introduced her to the congressman. Chase (Josh Swickward) returned him with a scattering box of Gregory’s (Gregory Harrison) ashes. He sadly told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) after tomorrow his dad would truly be gone. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) came to see Finn (Michael Easton).“I have a few questions for you about the attempted murder of Jason Morgan” John told Sonny (Maurice Benard). Elizabeth told Finn that Aiden made butterscotch brownies because tomorrow would be a hard day. She added she came there because she wanted to check in on him because she loved him. Chase didn’t like the idea of scattering Gregory’s ashes because at least with a burial, he’d have a place to visit his dad where he could go and talk with him. When Brook Lynn suggested keeping the ashes along with a picture of Gregory on the mantle, Chase reminded as executor, he had to fulfill his dad’s wishes not his own. Brook Lynn told Chase his father would always be with him because he’d be all around. Drew told Carly if decided to run for congress, the insider trading scandal would be dredged up. He asked how she felt about that. Anna told Jason the voice on the other end of the line was Valentin, which makes sense because that was a WSB tactic to take advantage of a situation and make it worse. Jason told Anna he understood her need to protect Valentin, but he had to know why Valentin was gunning for him. John told Diane (Carolyn Henessy) if Sonny refused to answer his questions, he could place him under arrest and question him down at the station. Finn told Elizabeth he’d give anything that the way he treated her didn’t happen. He explained he wasn’t an alcoholic, he was an addict who made a choice not to drink again. Diane told Jack his information was thin at best. Jack told Sonny they were gathering more information. Anna told Jason that Valentin was probably running Pikeman in Brennan’s absence. “Thank you…that’s what I needed” Jason told Anna. Carly told Drew it was a longshot he’d win, adding Oscar would be proud of him. Drew said he owed it to himself to try. Chase told Brook Lynn how grief came in waves with one day him missing his dad so much and the next forgetting he was gone and trying to call him. Brook Lynn told Chase he could grieve his dad’s passing and want him back. Carly told Drew if he did run, he had her vote. Jack told Sonny it was sad that he took a young man with brain damage (Jason) and turned him into his enforcer then tried to kill him. So, he’s going to love seeing Sonny finally behind bars. After Jack left, Diane told Sonny she thought he was guilty and she wasn’t the only one. Jason wanted to go to Cates and tell him Valentin was the head of Pikeman so he’d get his life back. But Anna said “I can’t let you do that.” Chase told Brook Lynn how Gregory didn’t fight a battle over his ALS but fought a war. “Maybe he didn’t lose his battle against ALS, maybe he won,” Chase told Brook Lynn, vowing to follow his dad’s example and live life. Finn told Elizabeth about the dark place he was in which caused him to drink. Sonny came to see Carly and told her how two gunmen came after Jason at the warehouse, adding Jason wasn’t hurt. He did Carly his own lawyer didn’t believe him but it wasn’t him. Anna reminded Jason that the FBI would never let him (and by extension, Carly) go without hard evidence to make a case against Valentin. Jason told Anna he was going to get the evidence. “From Valentin,” Jason said. Chase told Brook Lynn there was a small chance his dad passed down a predisposition for ALS onto him. And if that happened, he didn’t want her to take the risk. Elizabeth offered to keep Finn company but he told her “I think I need a little more time alone.” They hugged and kissed and then Elizabeth left to come home. Jason told Anna he could break into Valentin’s house. But Anna suggested she allow Valentin to invite her in and she’d get the evidence they needed to bring him down. Carly said Sonny should tell Jason himself that he didn’t try to have him killed. “Whatever comes, whatever happens…we stick together” Brook Lynn said. “We stick together,” Chase repeated. Finn picked up Gregory’s cane and started crying. Carly told Sonny he still cared about what Jason thought. Sonny said in his world Jason being an FBI informant meant they were over. “I can do this. I can but I need backup and I need it to be you” Anna told Jason. “Okay. we’ll do it your way” Jason said.

Wednesday

While Chase (Josh Swickward) worked on writing his dad’s eulogy, Finn (Michael Easton) signed for Gregory’s (gregory harrison) medical equipment to be removed. Finn brushed Violet’s (Jophelle Love) hair. Chase told the scattering box off the mantle. He and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) arrived at Finn’s apartment. “You could have left that in the car” Finn told Chase, who said he didn’t want their dad to be far away. They left the apartment and arrived at the park. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Jake (Hudson West), Aiden, Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and Tracy (Jane Eliott) were there to say final goodbyes to Gregory. Finn touched the park bench that was inscribed In Memory of Professor Gregory Harrison, Scholar Writer Father. Chase handed Finn the scattering box and Violet kissed it. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) met Natalia (Eva LaRue) at the recording studio to lay down some new tracks. Blaze told Natalia that she said something to Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) sister she shouldn’t have and now they are over. She commented she thought they’d last forever. Natalia told Blaze she had her passion for her music to get her through. Kristina arrived at the courthouse and told Molly (Kristen Vaganos) she’d wait for her to get finished because she thought it would be nice if they spent a sister day together. Chase handed Finn a card he found on their dad’s nightstand that Gregory was using as a bookmark. Finn said it was Psalm 21 and he read it aloud. Finn and Violet talked about Gregory’s special bench. Chase suggested if anyone wanted to speak and share their memories of Gregory it would help the pain. Elizabeth spoke about Gregory’s support of her and thanked Finn and Chase for sharing their dad with her. Alexis talked about jumping out a plane with Gregory and the passionate kiss they shared at the end. She ended by saying Gregory encouraged her to pursue getting her law license back. Finn talked about how he wished he’d been a better son. Tracy talked about how Gregory was a good friend and also a missed opportunity. “Because contrary to popular belief, you can miss what you don’t have.” Natalia told the music producer maybe they could implement some of the notes she’s made to make the track better. Brooke Lynn thanked Gregory for giving her her husband. Violet read a poem her grandfather used to read to her that she knew by heart. “I hope you’re happy grandpa” Violet said looking towards the sky. Chase talked about how Gregory once called himself ordinary. “If I could be ordinary like my dad, that would be extraordinary.” Chase and Finn shared scattering Gregory’s ashes on his favorite tree. Brook Lynn said Tracy’s words about Gregory were nice. Tracy said it was a nice service and Gregory would be pleased. She suggested she and Brook Lynn drink a shot in Gregory’s honor. Brook Lynn told Tracy she was worried about Finn and wondered if Violet should stay with them for a while to give Finn the chance to grieve alone without worrying he’d upset Violet. But Tracy commented that Finn and Violet were a comfort to each other. Finn questioned Alexis about her kiss with his dad on the tarmac and asked whether there was a budding romance he didn’t know about. Blaze told Natalia she felt like a fraud because she wasn’t feeling the music. Kristina told Molly she knew Allie told her what happened after the wedding and she was pretending like she didn’t know. Kristina told Molly she could get defensive but that doesn’t mean they can’t talk. Blaze got angry when Natalia basically called her relationship with Kristina an infatuation. Alexis admitted to Finn she was too cowardly to take a risk with a man she knew was dying. Chase vowed to tell Brook Lynn he loved her before walking away from her. Finn commented to Elizabeth sometimes he felt because he was so good with protecting he was fooling himself. Blaze sang the track with passion when she saw Kristina had entered the recording studio. Violet told Brook Lynn how her grandfather always said if you were someplace you didn’t want to be, you should read. Chase was shocked when he found Finn drinking shots.

Thursday

“No diving please” lifeguard Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told The Metro Court pool. Spinelli (Bradford) arrived with James. While he asked Josslyn whether she’s seen Jason (Steve Burton) since the wedding, Gio (Giovanni Mazzi) stopped James from doing a cannonball. Although she thanked Kristina (Kate Mansi) for coming to the re-recording of the track, Natalia (Eva laRue) didn’t like the looks Kristina exchanged with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) while she sang. Finn (Michael Easton) used breath spray after drinking. He turned around startled when he heard Georgie’s voice and noticed the look Chase (Josh Swickward) gave him. Georgie told Finn her mom was looking for him. Maxie and Georgie offered their condolences. Georgie asked whether Violet (Jophelle Love) could come to the pool with them. Violet told Finn she still wanted to go. Maxie told Finn after the pool, they’d get dinner, ice cream and then have a sleepover. Chase offered to get Violet’s overnight bag from his car. Natalia thought the track was perfect even though Blaze didn’t. Kristina commented how it was okay she surprised Natalia by showing up because she’s always been a surprise to Blaze’s mother. James was let off with a warning and promised to follow pool rules. Josslyn was surprised Gio was working as a pool attendant. Gio told Josslyn how he interviewed for the job there with Olivia (Lisa LoCicero). Josslyn commented with the way he played at the wedding, he could be playing Carnegie Mellon. Maxie offered to help Finn pack up his dad’s things. But Finn said he preferred to do it alone. Although Violet still wanted to go to the pool, she didn’t want to leave her father alone. Natalia told Kristina she believed in honesty. Kristina said honesty without tactic bordered on cruelty. Natalia said she hoped Kristina would put Allie’s feelings above her own when it came time to end the relationship. “I don’t want you ever to worry about me” Finn told Violet, adding it was his job as dad to take care of her. Violet said daughters had jobs too and her job was to make sure he was lonely. Finn told Violet he was putting her on sabbatical from her job and wanted her to have fun today. Chase suggested he and Finn spend time together. But Finn said maybe they can do it tomorrow. After Finn left, Chase told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) his brother wanted to be alone because he wanted to drink. Natalia told Kristina she didn’t have to be a fortune teller to see her and Allie’s relationship would end badly. Josslyn accidentally pushed Gio into the pool. They both laughed. “What’s so funny?” Trina (Tabyana Ali) asked when she entered. She had a strange look on her face when she saw Gio get out of the pool. Josslyn introduced Gio to Trina. Gio told Josslyn he’s going to PCU in the Fall. Brook Lynn told Chase she had a bad feeling Finn would drink. Finn packed up Gregory’s things and looked at a pamphlet Guide To Alcoholics Anonymous. Blaze told Natalia she agreed with her about the track. She asked what her mother and Kristina were talking about. Natalia answered Kristina didn’t come to see her. After Natalia left the recording booth, Kristina entered and told Blaze she couldn’t put off her apology. Kristina told Blaze she spoke with Molly (Kristen Vaganos), who told her she had to pry the information from Blaze. Kristina said she shouldn’t have acted like Blaze was the enemy for breaking some code of silence. That’s what her dad did and she didn’t want to be like him. Chase berated himself because as a detective, he didn’t see Finn would drink. Finn called about the AA meetings being resumed after construction. He looked at his car keys, picked them up then left the apartment. Gio told Trina and Josslyn how PCU recruited him. He told them he was living at the Quartermaine mansion. Trina told Gio she worked at a gallery that promoted the arts. “Can I give you my number?” Gio asked Trina. “Kristina, you’re nothing like your father,” Blaze assured. She said she forgave her because she was just trying to shield the baby from harm. Natalia wasn’t happy watching them hugging. Trina told Josslyn how seeing Gio getting out of the pool reminded her of Spencer (Nicholas Chavez). Spinelli assured James and Georgie he wasn’t going anywhere. Finn sat on a barstool and ordered tequila. Brook Lynn asked Chase whether he thought Finn would ever do anything to put Violet in danger.

Friday

Drew (Cameron Mathison) greeted Wiley and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) at The Metro Court Pool. Willow told Drew how well Amelia’s swimming lessons were going. Nina (Cynthia Watros) watched Drew join Willow and Wiley in the pool. Dex (Evan Hofer) greeted Gio (Giovanni Mazzi), who told him he was working there for the summer. Chase (Josh Swickward) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) they had to convince Finn (Michael Easton) to get in recovery. Jake (Hudson West) entered The Brown Dog Bar with his friends who wanted to get drinks, assuring they wouldn’t get carded. Jake saw Finn having a drink with a woman at the bar. Wiley was proud of himself for holding his breath for fifteen seconds. Nina bumped into Gio, knocking towels out his arms. As she helped him pick them up, Wiley got out of the pool and rushed to Grandma Nina. Willow smiled when Nina hugged Wiley. Chase told Brook Lynn even though he wanted to help Finn through this, he was madder at him than he’s ever been. Brook Lynn told Chase their main priority had to be protecting Violet (Jophelle Love). Hudson told his friend they had to go because his mom’s boyfriend was there and if he saw him, he was dead. Finn told the woman how he worked for Doctors Without Borders. He suggested they “Leave the names out of it.” Finn said he was in town visiting family. The woman said she hoped she could do something to help Finn. Nina told Wiley she wasn’t dressed for swimming and was there looking for Drew. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) thanked Dex for showing up for her first day of work as a lifeguard. Dex told Trina (Tabyana Ali) if Josslyn hadn’t taken him to the ER to get stitches after the incident at the wedding, he’d have a scar. Chase and Brook Lynn decided they would take Violet away from her father to keep her safe, even if they both hated them. Jake’s friends assured him that Finn wouldn’t see him drinking because he hadn’t looked at anything but that woman. Jake told them “He wouldn’t do that to my mom.” Finn paid the bartender fifty dollars to buy a bottle when he learned there weren’t any liquor stores around the establishment. “Here’s to taking care of business,” Finn told the woman. Trina bumped into Gio. She told him how Dex and Josslyn used to be together but broke up because of Josslyn’s ex-stepfather Sonny Cornithos (Maurice Benard) who’s “Basically a bad guy.” Dex told Josslyn how Sonny tracked him down at the park. Dex said he was putting the past behind him. Seeing Drew in the pool with Wiley, Nina commented to Willow how she’s never seen that side of Drew Cain. Jake’s friends told him that his mom deserved better than that loser. Finn left The Brown Dog Bar with the woman. Jake told his friends he needed to get out of there. Brook Lynn suggested they take Violet to Italy while Finn was in rehab. Chase reminded Brook Lynn that child abduction wasn’t her best plan, but it definitely took the edge off. Gio told Trina that Sonny was his benefactor and had been good to him. He then asked why she had such a weird look on his face when they first met. Finn entered his apartment with the woman . He commented that he didn’t feel like he ever lived that life. She offered to take away anything he was feeling. Jake arrived at GH and told Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) about seeing Finn at a dive bar drinking with a woman. Elizabeth told Jake he did the right thing in telling her and said she’d handle it. After his mom left, Jake called someone and told the person his mom needed him. Brook Lynn suggested Violet spend time at the Quartermaine mansion so while she’s playing with the assorted kids, they could have an intervention with Finn and hopefully convince him he needed help. Trina ran out after telling Gio he reminded her of someone she was close with who died. Nina wished Wiley a fun and happy summer. Trina told Josslyn she needed time alone. After Trina left, Dex told Josslyn every moment was precious. “Have dinner with me,” Dex asked Josslyn. Chase worried they’d lose the Finn they knew if he did something he couldn’t take back. Elizabeth let herself into Finn’s apartment and found him with the woman and saw the opened bottle.
