A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Michael (Chad Duell) leads a blindfolded Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) into her surprise birthday party. When Portia (Brooke Kerr) told her she’d heard from Finn (Michael Easton) and he was cutting his family leave short and was coming back to work tomorrow, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) asked “Can I speak with you alone?” “Right now?” Portia asked. “Right now” Elizabeth answered. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) came to Finn’s apartment. Gio (Giovanni Mazzei) told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) he was there because Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) wanted him to get out and meet people. Nina (Cynthia Watros) pretended to interrupt Drew (Cameron Mathison) for Crimson business. Once they were alone, Drew reminded Nina she didn’t need to tell him how to act because this was his idea. Then he returned to Willow and said Nina didn’t know she was going to be here tonight asking did she mind if Nina stayed. Willow invited Nina to her birthday adding “I’m glad you’re here.” Cody (Josh Kelly) told Chase (Josh Swickward) he was sorry to hear about Gregory (Gregory Harrison). Chase said although he couldn’t believe he’d never see his dad again, he was grateful for all the moments they got to spend together. Elizabeth told Portia that Finn was drinking. Alexis asked about Violet (Jophelle Love) and asked to check on her. Finn pulled out a bottle and started drinking.Michael told Carly (Laura Wright) that Willow invited Nina to the party and he learned not to interfere with Willow. Elizabeth told Portia about ending things with Finn and said he was spiraling and was a danger to patients. Alexis saw Finn was defiant drinking so at least she didn’t have to accuse him and have him deny it. Finn told Alexis he could handle the alcohol but not the snarky judgment. Carly asked Drew how he could go to bat for Nina after all she did to him. Nina told Curtis (Donnell Turner) she could tolerate working for Drew because he’s helped her get closer to Willow. Curtis told Nina he understood how hard it was forging a relationship with an adult child but it was worth it. Carly warned Drew not to push a relationship between Nina and Willow. Drew assured he’d never do that to Willow because he’s come to adore her. Willow gave Chase her condolences and said his father’s last day on Earth was spent celebrating his family and the future which was a bad way to go. Alexis told Finn that Chase lost the same father he did and may want to share his pain with him. Finn told Alexis his pain was his pain to deal with how he chose. Elizabeth told Portia she was concerned how Finn’s drinking would affect patients. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) thanked Carly for agreeing to hire Gio for the summer and beamed about him and his musical achievements. Carly smiled, hugged Josslyn and said when you were proud of someone, you couldn’t help wanting everyone to know about it. Elizabeth told Portia she hoped she could convince Finn to go to rehab, commenting that The Family Wellness Act entitled him to twelve weeks. Portia told Elizabeth she did the right thing for patients and the hospital by coming forward. Alexis reminded Finn when she was drinking she wasn’t the sole parent responsible for raising a nine year old daughter. Willow told Chase he was her first love. Drew told Curtis and Michael he decided to accept Congressman McConkey’s offer to run for his seat and the congressman’s endorsement. Drew added he was changing his name to Quartermaine. Alexis told Finn he was a great father when he was sober but when he was drinking he was this. Alexis tricked Finn into turning around thinking Violet had overheard everything he just said. She asked whether he thought Violet would be proud of her daddy if she had overheard what he said. Portia arrived at the party. Curtis told her Drew decided to run for congress and although he’d have more work launching the Wellness center, he was happy getting to be his own boss and implementing ideas. Willow asked Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) how things were going working for the Quartermaines and with Cody. Alexis told Finn he needed to go to rehab for ninety days because Violet deserved a father and not the drunk she’s living with. Michael told Willow that Drew decided to run for Congress. A tearful Alexis called Finn mean when he was drunk and said she hoped when he realized what he was doing he’d call her soon rather than later. Cody told Sasha what Chase said about his dad made him think about whether Mac (John J. York) should know they were father and son. Willow blew out the candles on her birthday cake. She said Drew was the one who should make the speech because he had something to say. Drew announced his candidacy. Willow said the best present they could give her would be to vote for Drew. Finn continued to drink.

Tuesday

Cody (Josh Kelly) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) couldn’t sleep so they ended up looking at the lake from the boathouse. Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) apologized for canceling their date because of work. John (Adam Harrington) told Jason (Steve Burton) he was finally free. “I know who’d running Pikeman…Anna Devane” John told Jason. “Not possible,” Jason replied. John said he had proof. Sam (Kelly Monaco) came to The Metro court Pool to seek out Carly (Laura Wright). “I wanted to ask you mother to mother to help my son,” Sam said. Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Scott (Kin Shriner) were having pie at Bobbie’s and talking about revisions to Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) contract and how Natalia (Eva LaRue) was shooting down all their revisions. Sam told Carly how Danny helped Jason after he was shot and hiding at the boathouse. Carly told Sam that Jason would never put any of their kids in danger. Sam told Carly to just accept that they disagree on this and help her as a friend. John told Jason he had a warrant to check Anna’s personal emails. Jason commented now that John had this proof, he didn’t need him anymore. “I don’t know if it’s wise but it’s not something I would change” Valentin told Anna about them being together. Then, they kissed. Sasha told Cody he’s on her mind. “I’ve been thinking about your smile and how sad it seems sometimes.” Sasha said Cody seemed lonely. “I think it’s because you are surrounded by family but you don’t have one.” Cody admitted there’s a part of him that wants to come clean to the family he has. Cody told Sasha a big part of him was relieved that Mac (John J. York) was away because he didn’t have to decide right away. Sasha told Cody “If the thing you’re doing is not working, you need to try something new.” Sam asked Carly to talk with Jason and ask him to leave Danny alone. “Danny wants to be just like Jason and that’s the worst possible thing that can happen to him.” Valentin told Anna he was making her dinner tomorrow. John told Jason that it was clear that Anna and Brennan (Charles Mesure) were collaborators. John asked Jason to get him proof of a connection between Anna, Brennan and Pikeman, adding if he warned Anna and she was able to cover her tracks “Carly goes to prison.” Lucy told Scott that Natalia was so smart she wished she could work for Deception. Sasha told Cody she went to his room to find him because maybe he wasn’t the only one who was lonely and maybe she wanted to try something new too. Sasha kissed Cody. Carly told Sam that Danny would feel abandoned if Jason stopped seeing him. Carly asked Sam if she was so worried about the life Jason led why did she insist on having a baby with him. Jason came to see Anna and told her that John believed she was the head of Pikeman. He told her about the emails alleging she’s been meeting with Brennan for five years. Scott told Lucy about working on Heather’s (Alley Mills) cobalt poisoning case. Sam told Carly she loved Jason but grew up and realized he wasn’t the man she thought he was. Anna realized Valentin set her up with the emails. “He’s framing you,” Jason said. Sasha led Cody to the boathouse and they started kissing. They were interrupted by Gio (Giovanni Mazzei) practicing his violin. Scott told Lucy that Heather’s faulty hip could entitle Heather to compensation under product liability. Anna told Jason that Valentin wasn’t framing her but using her as a decoy. She said Valentin loved her and would never do anything that would get her sent to prison and knew she could handle an investigation. Jason told Anna that Cates ordered him to get the evidence to prosecute her. And although she wasn’t in any real danger, Carly was. “So I’m going to have to tell Cates that Valentin is the head of Pikeman,” Jason told Anna. Lucy resented Scott comparing her to Heather. Even with all the schemes she did in her life, she’d never killed anybody. Lucy asked Scott whether he truly believed the poison turned Heather into a different person or magnified the tendencies she already had. Lucy told Scott he had to let someone else bank on this and stay clear of it. “Since I’m paying for your pie…” Scott said, taking a bite. Cody and Sasha said Gio’s playing was nice and romantic like a private concert. Sam told Carly she didn’t want her son to end up like Morgan…she didn’t want her son to end up dead. Sam told Carly she would be just as responsible if Jason put Danny in danger. Anna told Jason she was having dinner with Valentin tomorrow night and would get the evidence. “But I want to make something very clear. I will take Valentin down myself before I let Cates hurt Carly” Jason told Anna.

Wednesday

Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was surprised that Gio (Giovanni Mazzei) came to work an hour early. She told him because she was very competitive, she had to figure out to be a better employee than him. Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) arrived with Sonny (Maurice Benard). She told Josslyn she was taking swim lessons and learning how to do the butterfly. Josslyn took Avery away to get ready for her swim lesson. “Gio it’s about time we see eachother again” Sonny said to Gio. Chase (Josh Swickward) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) arrive at The Invader to ask Alexis (Nancy Grahan) how things went with Finn (Michael Easton). “Not good,” Alexis said. Tracy (Jane Eliott) entered the stables and listened as James beamed over jumping over a tree. Cody (Josh Kelly) said it was time to bring him home. Maxie (Kristen Storms), Georgie and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) were happily surprised when Mac (John J. York) returned. “Has anyone seen my wife?” Mac asked as Georgie and Maxie hugged him. Stella (Vernee Watson) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) discussed advocating for a patient with TJ (Taj Bellows). Alexis told Chase and Brook Lynn that Finn was defiant and wouldn’t listen until he was ready. Chase asked whether Alexis had any advice for them on how to protect Violet (Jophelle Love). Gio told Sonny how grateful he was he paid for his education but was glad PCU gave him a scholarship and he could pay his own way. When Gio told him he was still living at the Quartermaine, Sonny said “You should get hazard pay for that.” Natalia (Eva LaRue) left a voicemail from Brook Lynn asking her to meet her at The Metro Court Pool. She ran into Sonny and told him she underestimated his daughter. Mac was happy to see Bailey Lou and was surprised to see how much she’s grown. Georgie also told him Spinelli was living with them now. Cody arrived with James and Mac greeted him. Natalia told Sonny how Kristina’s presence helped Allison emotion connect with a song. Alexis told Chase and Brook Lynn that if a parent is reported to child protective services, Violet could end up in a group home or with strangers. She advised them to contact a licensed clinical social worker. Brook Lynn told Chase that Blaze’s mother left her a voicemail. Chase told Brook Lynn he was going to GH because he knew who to speak with. Cody said he’d like it if Mac came to the stables sometime to see James jump sometime. Natalia got a text so she had to leave. She asked Sonny to give the thumb drive of the last recording session to Brook Lynn when she got there. Gio told Josslyn he never wanted to take his Uncle Sonny for granted. Maxie told Mac that Cody was a gift and like a real life superhero. Diane (Carolyn Henessy) arrived at Alexis’ office. She gave Alexis an envelope from the Court of Appeals that came in care of her office. “Your future awaits my friend,” Diane told Alexis. Felicia ignored another text from Maxie and told TJ she’d speak with her mother when she was off the clock. Maxie talked with Mac about taking things slowly with Spinelli. Maxie said she was glad he was back. Brook Lynn arrived at The Metro Court Pool. Sonny gave her the thumbdrive from Natalia. Brook Lynn told Sonny that Finn has been drinking. Chase found Stella at The Bistro. He told him about a child living with a parent in the throes of Substance Abuse Disorder making the environment no longer safe for a child. Alexis asked Diane to open the envelope. Cody told Tracy about the situation about lying to his father. Tracy urged Cody to tell his father the truth. While Mac was putting Bailey Lou down for a nap, Felicia entered and asked what was the exciting news. Sonny talked about how hard a situation like this was for a child. Stella gave Chase information on how to proceed, which included making a case against his brother in order to build a case for his niece. Diane told Alexis there was some good news and bad news: The court has decided to vacate her disbarment. She told Alexis the bad news was there was a two year suspension of her law license which started four years ago. Diane told Alexis she needed forty-eight hours of continuing education and had to take the Bar again. Diane and Alexis jumped for joy that it’s over. Tracy told Cody he got to start over with his father. Felicia happily welcomed Mac home.

Thursday

Carly (Laura Wright) came to Corinthos Coffee warehouse to see Jason (Steve Burton) about Drew (Cameron Mathison). “You may want to talk with him because it affects you too,” Carly told Jason. Trina (Tabayna Ali) arrived at The Metro Court Pool and told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) it was such a nice day she decided to bring her laptop and work outside. At GH, Terry (Cassandra James) asked Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) about Finn (Michael Easton). Violet (Jophelle Love) told Finn although she wanted to go to the pool, she didn’t want to leave him. Mac (John J. York) got passionate with Felicia (Kristina Wagner) since besides Bailey Lou who was taking a nap, they had the place to themselves. “I found our prize. But now we have a new problem” Spinellli (Bradford Anderson) told Sam (Kelly Monaco). Finn assured Violet he’d be fine at work. Terry told Elizabeth that Finn would need to ask for help. Carly told Jason that Drew was running for congress. Mac told Felicia about the liberating conversation he had with Frisco (Jack Wagner) who regretted walking out on Felicia, Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Georgie for the WSB. Anna (Finola Hughes) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) arrived and welcomed Mac home. Finn arrived at GH and told Elizabeth as they had to work together, he didn’t want things to be awkward between them. Portia (Brooke Kerr) told Finn before he saw patients, she and Terry needed to see him in her office. Carly told Jason that with Drew running for congress, his past including Jason’s accident and his working for Sonny could be aired public. Portia told Finn they needed to discuss his drinking. Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Maxie how she got to go to Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birthday party last night. Spinelli told Sam the FBI’s leverage over Jason was in a recording that could only be listened to and not altered. After she heard it, Sam was furious that Jason chose to stay away because of Carly. Dex (Evan Heller) showed up at The Metro Court Pool in his PCPD cadet uniform. Nina told Maxie she got to come to Willow’s birthday party because of Drew. When he was told Stone’s brother Jagger was back in town and now going by John (Adam Harrington), Mac commented how it would be good to see Jagger again. Robert told his brother John wasn’t that kid he once knew. Portia and Terry told Finn in order to keep his job at GH, he had to work under supervision, go to AA meetings, and authorize his sponsor to provide them updates on his progress. A furious Finn angrily said this violated his rights and reminded them all he did to save GH. Then, he quit. Sam asked Spinelli to make a copy of the recording and said she’s doing what any good mother would do to protect her kid. Jason told Carly he had a job to finish and once he did, he’d take the life he wanted back. Finn angrily confronted Elizabeth and told her he quit so she got her revenge. He told her to stay away from Violet and from him. Dex asked Josslyn’s advice as he was participating in the PCPD volleyball tournament. Jason told Anna about Drew running for congress and said time was running out. Anna assured she’d get the evidence against Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Portia assured Elizabeth she’d done the right thing by reporting Finn’s drinking. James asked whether Violet could stay the night. But Maxie told him she promised Violet’s father she’d get her home. Finn returned home and immediately opened a bottle.

Friday

“I know why Jason let us think he was dead,” Sam (Kelly Monaco) told Carly (Laura Wright). “I need to prove to the FBI that Valentin is their guy,” Jason (Steve Burton) told Anna (Finola Hughes). Chase (Josh Swickward) thanked Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) for making their first home cooked meal since they became a married couple. Violet (Jophelle Love) told James she had to go home. Finn (Michael Easton) pulled a piece of glass out of his palm then poured tequila on it. Suddenly, he fell to the floor. Sam played the FBI recording of Carly announcing she was now the head of her dead husband’s organization. John (Adam Harrington) came to the Cornithos Coffee warehouse and asked Jason whether that was Anna he saw leaving. He asked whether Jason recorded his conversation with her. Jason answered he never records conversation and said even if he had, there’s nothing there. Anna arrived at Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) house for dinner. While he went to get them drinks, Anna looked around the room. Violet found her father unconscious on the floor. She picked up his cellphone. Seeing Tracy (Jane Eliott) missed calls, Violet redialed the number. Tracy picked it up and scolded Finn for avoiding her calls. Violet frantically told Tracy about her father. Tracy called 911. Maxie (Kristen Storms) told Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) she was worried about Violet. Tracy entered the apartment and went to Finn. She saw the blood on his hand and the bottle on the table. The paramedics entered. They told her that being drunk wasn’t an emergency. Tracy convinced Violet to come with her and she was going to take her to see her Uncle Chase. Carly couldn’t believe the recording existed and that Jason was working for the FBI to protect her. “Find what you’re looking for?” Valentin asked Anna. Chase and Brook Lynn were surprised when Tracy arrived with Violet. When Brook Lynn left the room to take Violet to hang up her wet swimsuit to dry, Chase asked Tracy what happened and why Violet was with her. Anna lied she was admiring his book collection. She turned the conversation to Brennan (Charles Mesure). Sam told Carly that Jason put her above everyone, including his children. Tracy told Chase what happened and suggested he and Brook Lynn bring Violet to stay at the Quartermaine mansion while she spoke with Finn because she couldn’t say the things he needed to hear. John entered Carly’s office at The Metro Court with a bottle of wine he charged to his hotel room to thank her for staying with him the night she found him in the alley. He told her he’d miss her when he returned to Quantico. Sam came to Maxie’s house. After Maxie left the room, Sam told Spinelli she played the recording for Carly. Valentin asked Anna not to leave then told her he loved her. Carly commented when John referred to the person who has done bad things as a person and asked whether it was a woman. Sam assured Spinelli that Jason made sure Carly wouldn’t be charged. Jason saw Anna and Valentin kissing. Violet asked Chase to teach her how to cook so she could make something special for her father. Chase suggested they go stay at the Quartermaines and in the morning, he would make his special french toast for him, her and Brook Lynn. Tracy let herself into Finn’s apartment. She took pictures of an unconscious Finn and the bottle and broken glass. Brook Lynn told Violet she called her dad and he said it was okay she stayed at the Quartermaines. Tracy used smelling salts from his medical bag to wake Finn, who asked what happened and then where Violet was. “She’s gone,” Tracy answered.
