A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) woke up in bed together. “See something you like?” Anna asked. “No, I see something I love,” Valentin answered and told her he could spend every moment of his life like that, waking up and kissing her. Carly (Laura Wright) came to see Jack (Charles Mesure) at Pentonville. “You never come here just to chat. Something’s wrong…does it involve the FBI?” Jack asked. Jason (Steve Burton) came to the Webber house and started to slip an envelope under the door. But Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst),who was taking out the trash, opened the door Drew (Cameron Mathison) told Michael (Chad Duell) that as Aurora de facto CEO he will have Crimson’s Editor In Chief Nina (Cynthia Watros) reporting to him. Drew added could fire Nina today if he wanted. “You just say the word,” Drew said. Nina was surprised when Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) arrived at her office. “I did something terrible. And there isn’t anyone else I could talk to about it. It’s the kind of thing you can only tell your mom. Or a sister and I don’t have a sister. So…” Willow said, fighting back tears. “You can talk to me about anything,” Nina assured. Jack explained to Carly the inner workings of the WSB. Jason told Elziabeth he came to slip the check for Jake’s (Hudson West) art school under the door because he didn’t want Jake to see him and feel pressure into taking his money. “The only way to know is to let him decide,” Elizabeth told Jason. Michael explained not only was Nina a fantastic Editor In Chief, Willow wanted a relationship with her and the last thing he wanted to do was to hurt Willow. Nina assured Willow what she told her would stay in the room. Willow explained what happened on the Fourth of July. “One minute we were looking up into the sky and the next we were kissing.” Anna asked Valentin to make her a latte. While he was in the kitchen, she pocketed the satellite phone. They were surprised when Charlotte (Scarlette Fernandez) entered. She told Valentin all her friends decided to go island hopping in Greece and since she’d seen enough Greece for a lifetime, she decided to come home and surprise him. Anna started to leave for work. But Charlotte asked her to stay because there was something she never got to say before she left Port Charles and she didn’t like loose ends. Jack told Carly her skills were wasted in hospitality, adding she’d make a great secret agent. Michael explained to Drew how grateful he felt for the life he and Willow have. Willow told Nina how she kissed Drew liked she kissed her husband and was now unsure of her feelings for Drew. And she was being unfair to Michael. Willow told Nina what Drew said after they talked about the kiss. Charlotte apologized to Anna. She told Valentin how some kids arrived in her school who lost everything after powerful people took over their country. Charlotte said she realized Uncle Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) was like that and she’s a Cassadine and Cassadines are bad. Elizabeth told Jake his dad was there to give him something. Jason explained to Jake how he found out he got into his dream art school and wanted to pay for it with no strings attached. Jason asked Jake to take the money and not let his failings as a father affect his future. Michael told Drew working with Nina was good for business so he’d put a smile on his face and just do it. Nina told Willow it was a mistake and she was human so she shouldn’t beat herself up about it. She encourages Willow not to tell Michael. Jack commented maybe they could change the thirty percent odds her lawyer gave her. Anna apologized to Charlotte for shooting her. After they both forgave each other, Anna and Charlotte hugged. Anna then left for work. Nina told Willow there’s no way to predict how Michael would react and how it would affect his relationship with Drew. Nina told Willow to let her be the only one she confided in about the kiss and urged her not to give it power. Nina told Willow she was just a text or phone call away. After Willow left her office, Nina called Drew and told him if he didn’t get up to her office right now, his congressional campaign would be over before he kissed his first baby. Jack gave Carly two options: One, she went on the defensive and kicked up enough fess so the Feds would cut her loose. Two, Jason continued to give the FBI what they wanted or tried to destroy the evidence. Anna returned to Jason’s room above Kelly’s and connected the satellite phone to her laptop. Jake accepted Jason’s offer and thanked him. Then, they shook hands and hugged. Jack told Carly to take care of herself before she left Pentonville. Charlotte told Valentin she’s glad he and Anna were back together. Valentin couldn’t say that but was glad he had some hope. Anna told Jason she got it and the phone was the just as they thought…a treasure trove that would send Valentin to prison ten times over. But when he asked for the phone, Anna told Jason she couldn’t get it to him. “Not yet,” Anna said. Willow found Michael in Drew’s office and thanked him for the life he’d given her. Michael said he’d rather have her than a congressional seat anyday. Drew arrived at Nina’s office and was angry to be threatened and summoned there. Nina slapped Drew and said “You son of a bitch…you kissed my daughter!”

Tuesday

Dex (Evan Hofer) came to The Metro Court for his lunch break. “Cadet Heller…I like your blues,” Josslyn said. “My uniform’s nothing compared to yours’ Dex said. John (Adam Heller) told Ava (Maura West) the best way to protect both Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) and herself was to build a case against Sonny (Maurice Benard). Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) came to see Sonny and told him she came there after a conversation with Nina (Cynthia Watros) and has decided to let the anger go. Drew (Cameron Mathison) tried to explain to Nina how the kiss happened. Nina threatened Drew that she was going to tell Willow that her hero kissed her mother. “I can’t let Cates take Valentin away” Anna (Finola Hughes) told Jason (Steve Burton). Ava wasn’t comfortable with John recording her statement about Sonny. Ava told John she was scared of Sonny and what he would do to her if he found out she was speaking with him. Willow told Sonny she realized it was hurting her holding a grudge against Nina. Sonny told Willow all he wanted was Willow to be happy and now that she had her and her children in her life, she would be. Drew assured Nina he respected Willow and cared about her and her family and it would never happen again. Anna told Jason she wouldn’t leave Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandex) alone and fatherless in the world. Josslyn pulled Dex aside and they kissed. Josslyn told Dex he was so confident and self assured in his uniform. Lois (Rena Sofer) rushed into The Metro Court Pool and told Gio (Giovanni Mazzo) about an opportunity to be a part of the string quartet that does music for Broadway. Drew told Nina it was time they came to a new understanding. Ava told John that Julian (William deVry) kept her out of the Jerome family’s dealings with Sonny. Jason told Anna she can’t expect him to risk being separated from his sons again by continuing to work for the FBI. Willow tried to advocate for a reconciliation between Sonny and Michael (Chad Duell). Anna asked Jason to wait two hours before turning the satellite phone over to Cates because she wanted to warn Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) to leave town with Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). Sonny agreed to think about forgiving Michael. After John left, Ava received a visit from Natalia (Eva LaRue) who said she couldn’t figure out Ava’s end game for recording her and releasing it. Drew told Nina maybe it was time to put the mutual contempt behind them. Her assistant Madison called and told Nina that Sonny was there to see her. After Drew left, Sonny told Nina about his custody battle for sole custody of Avery. Natalia told Ava that Sonny was furious but not at her. Gio declined the offer because he loved being at PCU and his life in Port Charles. Anna pounded on Valentin’s door and told him “I turned you into the FBI. You’re going to have to leave the country immediately.” “If you can bury the hatchet with Drew after everything that’s happened. Can you do the same with me?” Sonny asked Nina. Valentin turned over the books in his office and found the cellphone gone. “Was any of it real?” Valentin said, asking about their recent connection. Anna said he knows it was. He called Charlotte who said she was on her way home. Anna told Valentin to take Charlotte and go and not contact her again. But Valentin had another idea and asked her to come with them. John pounded on Jason’s door and demanded full disclosure “Otherwise you lose your deal and so does Carly.” Jason glanced at the clock. It was 4:30. Which meant if he let Cates in he’d have to stall for time in order to give Anna the agreed upon two hours.

Wednesday

Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Sonny (Maurice Benard) there was no hatchet to bury because most of everything that happened between them was on her. They both said they wanted the other to be happy. Gio (Giovanni Mazzo) was distracted while at work at The Metro Court. Carly (Laura Wright) thanked Lois (Rena Sofer) for recommending Gio to work there. Gio told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) he may have overstayed his welcome. “Come with me. We can start a new life together” Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) urged Anna (Finola Hughes). John (Adam Harrington) reminded Jason (Steve Burton) “You do what I say. Or Carly pays the price.” Anna told Valentin she won’t sacrifice any time with Robin (Kimberly McCullough), Emma (Brook Lynn Silzer) or Noah for any reason. “I’m sorry I love you. But I can’t go with you” Anna told Valentin. Natalia (Eva LaRue) came to see Sonny. Lois told Carly the story of Gio’s parents. “You built a really good life. Why did you risk it all for Pikeman? Why…what happened?” Anna asked. “You did,” Valentin answered. John demanded Jason turn over everything he had on Sonny, insisting Sonny tried to take him out because he didn’t fall into line when he came back. John told Jason that Sonny destroyed his life. “Sonny didn’t destroy my life…you did,” Jason said. Maxie (Kristen Storms) entered Nina’s office. Nina told her about Sonny’s visit. Carly didn’t understand why Sonny never mentioned Gio. When John commented about Sonny trying to take Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) away from her mother, Jason said “Ava Jerome…I would think twice about anything that woman had to say.” Natalia told Sonny she was very clear about the fact that Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Allison (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) love each other. Natalia told Sonny she was there because she could save Allison’s career. Nina admitted that Ava and Carly were right when they said she didn’t fit with Sonny’s life. She tried to change Sonny to fit into her world and what was worse, she tried to change herself. Natalia suggested Sonny invest in Blaze’s career but investing to create a new record label. Valentin told Anna that telling her about Pikeman did cross his mind but he didn’t want to force her into a position where she had to arrest him. He admitted he fabricated the personal emails of conversations between Anna and Brennan (Charles Mesure) that Cates got a hold of. Valentin assured Anna they were just a red herring and that he was careful not to incriminate her. Anna commented that Valentin loved her but couldn’t help using her. “I don’t have anything on Sonny” Jason said and walked towards the fire escape to retrieve the satellite phone. “But I do have this. Valentin’s phone. It proves he was running Pikeman” Jason told John. As he left Jason’s room, Agent Cates made a call requesting all units go to Valentin’s house. “It’s up to us to figure out our own lives…and what makes us happy,” Josslyn told Gio. Natalia told Sonny that Blaze will be successful and she knows she can run a new label. Natalia told Sonny if he said no, she would accept it and Kristina and Allison would never know she came to him. “I’m in” Sonny told Natalia. Nina told Maxie she and Drew (Cameron Mathison) are at the stage where they’re able to help each other. Anna told Valentin there was good in him because he had a really good heart. “If I could go with you, I would do it in a heartbeat” Anna told Valentin. Charlotte entered and seeing the look on her father’s face asked “What’s wrong papa?” Sonny gave Natalia his conditions: He didn’t want anyone to know he was doing this and said Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) could have credit. “She’s in charge,” Sonny told Natalia. Nina told Maxie how Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) reached out to her as a mother. Jason came to the Metro Court Pool to see Carly. “It’s done,” Jason said. “What’s done?” Carly asked. “I gave the FBI what they wanted. Now if Cates keeps his word, we’re free.” John and FBI agents burst into Valentin’s house but found the place empty. Anna watched the scene from her car.

Thursday

Carly (Laura Wright) and Jason (Steve Burton) came to the bridge. Carly commented that now that everything was done with Cates (Adam Harrington) she felt Jason could be himself and wasn’t holding anything back. She added from now on they wouldn’t keep anything from each other and would put it all out there. Tracy (Jane Eliott) came down to the stables because she couldn’t sleep. She asked Cody (Josh Kelly) whether he wouldn’t mind a little company. He offered her a beer. At the PCPD, Dex (Evan Hofer) brought Chase (Josh Swickward) some dinner. They talked about his cadet drills, including taser training. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told Natalia (Eva LaRue) she only came over because her Uncle Sonny (Maurice Benard) asked her. Kristina (Kate Mansi) entered Crimson’s Editor In Chief office with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) to see Nina (Cynthia Watros). Tracy told Cody how she read somewhere drinking alone is a problem and didn’t want to contribute to the problem. Chase assured Dex he’d gain the trust of his fellow officers by proving himself. Jason told Carly after being pressured into compliance for almost three years, he wasn’t sure he remembered how to be free or live life. Natalia told Brook Lynn about Sonny financing a new music label. Brook Lynn didn’t agree they could go into business together. Nina called someone and ordered the person to come to her office. Cody and Tracy talked about the advantages of fans or central air conditioning. Tracy talked about her insomnia. Chase told Dex about how he wanted to play pro baseball and got the support of his dad. “What did he think about you becoming a cop?” Dex asked Chase. Brook Lynn told Natalia all print and online media would be managed by her. She added Natalia would also have no say in how Blaze was presented to the public. “You either agree to my terms or your little label doesn’t get off the ground” Brook Lynn told Natalia, adding her offer ends when she walks out the door. When Adrian DeWitt entered her office, Nina suggested he grovel to Blaze and Kristina. Tracy told Dex how she made lists because they made the impossible possible. It was like being able to eat an elephant because you made it bite size. Cody told Tracy how he never saw things charging in front of him because he pretended things weren’t happening around him. Adrian apologized to Blaze and Kristina. But Kristina didn’t accept his apology. After Adrian left, Nina asked Blaze and Kristina how she could help. Brook Lynn told Natalia her whole maternal authoritative thing she had with Blaze’s career was done. Carly asked Jason what he wanted to do with his life now that this thing with Cates was over. Jason didn’t want to spend all day lounging around the pool as suggested by Carly. But he would be spending time with his boys, adding about Jake (Hudson West) being accepted to an art school in Barcelona. Cody told Tracy his father was Mac Scorpio (John J. York). Kristina asked Nina to coach them for their upcoming interview. Natalia told Sonny and Brook Lynn the only one you can trust in the music industry was yourself. Jason told Carly he wouldn’t make the same mistake he did when he came back before. Dex commented how wished he felt about his dad or anyone else in his family the way Chase felt about his dad. Tracy told Cody he’d get no severance, health insurance or recommendation if he dared leave without giving her thirty days notice. Nina told Kristina and Blaze all they had to do was be themselves and that they were just doing the best they could like everyone else. Natalia told Sonny and Brook Lynn they’ve done more than anyone else in town to earn her respect so if Blaze agreed to her terms, they had a deal. Jason talked about Britt (Kelly Thiebauld). Carly said she’d forever be grateful to Britt for saving Josslyn’s life. Dex told Chase why he joined the army. “Since joining the force here, things feel right again. It feels like home” Dex said. Nina said she could order tea and coffee from room service and their media training could start now. “What are you doing here?’ Cody asked when he saw someone at the stable door. “While you two deal with Blaze’s music, I’m going to make sure Ava gets what’s coming to her,” Sonny told Brook Lynn and Natalia. They drank a toast to that. Jason didn’t want to run security at Carly’s hotel, reminding he had Corinthos Coffee. He vowed to keep trying to get through to Sonny saying “Sonny’s in more trouble than he knows.”

Friday

Carly (Laura Wright) told Jason (Steve Burton) things were better having him back home. Cody (Josh Kelly) was surprised to see James at the stables. James was upset because Grandpa Mac (John J. York) said he couldn’t take lessons with him anymore. He told Cody and Tracy (Jane Eliott) he took a rideshare to get there. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) gave Trina (Tabyana Ali) the turtledove figurine she found in their place. Laura (Genie Francis) visited with Lulu when Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) entered. James told Cody and Tracy he stole Georgie’s phone to order the rideshare and had climbed out of his bedroom window. Jason told Carly he couldn’t live with the thought of her paying for something because of him and Sonny (Maurice Benard). “You’re cut out for a lot of things. But mob boss shouldn’t be one of them” Jason said. Trina told Josslyn the turtledove was a gift from Spencer (Nichloas Chavez) and how they were a pair. Dante told Laura it was a good thing raising her grandson. Maxie (Kristen Storms) scolded James for sneaking out and coming to the stables. He wanted to know why Grandpa Mac said he couldn’t take riding lessons there anymore. Maxie told James that was a conversation for another day but she was the one who had to say where he took riding lessons. Trina told Josslyn that they gave the turtle doves to each other so she and Spencer would know they’d always be thinking about each other. Dante commented about how Laura threw Lulu tea parties on the kitchen floor. He commented how Lulu was a great mom because of Laura. Jason said Sonny’s problems came down to two words: John Cates (Adam Harrington). Maxie, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and James came home. Georgie warned James not to take her phone again. “Something’s weird is going on that nobody’s saying,” James said. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) came to the stables after getting a text from Cody. Tracy found Gio (Giovanni Mazzo) in the kitchen eating a sandwich. Maxie told James that Grandpa Mac was going through something which was why he had to take riding lessons somewhere else. Cody told Sasha what happened with James. Dante wondered whether Rocco coming to see Lulu was doing him more harm than good. Trina told Josslyn how she felt guilt for being mad with Spencer sometimes for leaving her. Tracy joined Gio while she was having her tea. Gio told Tracy what he thought were the best places in New York. Jason commented Cates has hated Sonny for a long time but never had an opening before but now he does. Maxie told Spinelli she lost a sibling once and wouldn’t again. She said Mac could forgive Cody for this. Sasha told Cody she didn’t think he was about to be banished from James’ left because Maxie and James had faith in him. Tracy told Gio about the beautiful garden Lila (Anna Lee) donated to Port Charles. “Maybe you can show me sometimes,” Gio said. “Maybe I can,” Tracy said. Trina assured Josslyn she could talk about Spencer and she wouldn’t feel badly. Laura told Dante that Rocco was old enough to decide what felt right so he could decide about visiting his mom. Carly told Jason they made a good team. “Nobody wants to be in a situation like this. But if I had to be in one, I am so so grateful that I get to be in one with you” Carly told Jason. “Me too,” Jason said.
