A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Jason (Steve Burton) and Danny were having breakfast at Bobbie’s. Danny was looking forward to the speedboat trip with his father. Agent Cates (Adam Harrington) entered the diner asking to have a word with Jason. “That’s going to have to wait, I have plans with my son,” Jason told John. “Not anymore,” John said. Laura (Genie Francis) came to the police commissioner’s office and asked Anna (Finola Hughes) whether she’d heard from Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) because the FBI was looking for him. Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) met with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) to prep for their interview with Prez Hilton. Brook Lynn told them Prez Hilton’s producer said No to using the questions they sent over. Scott (Kin Shriner) asked Ava (Maura West) who they could put as a character witness. Michael (Chad Duell) came over to the penthouse at his father’s request and greeted Diane (Carolyn Henessey). “So what’s this about?” Michael asked. “I need your help son.” Laura told Anna that neither Valentin nor Charlotte’s (Scarlett Fernandez) cell phone number or emails are working and all of Charlotte’s social accounts have been wiped. Ava told Scott she had Laura and although she hadn’t many allies, she was willing to bet Sonny had less. Sonny told Michael about the custody suit. Jason asked Carly to take Danny home then went upstairs to his room with John. Ava suggested Trina (Tabyana Ali) as a character witness. Michael reminded Sonny that Scott would bring up the fact Carly sent Morgan (Bryan Craig) away to military school to keep him away from Sonny after Michael was hit by a bullet meant for Sonny. Brook Lynn told Blaze and Kristina that Prez would only move forward if he had control of the questions. “This is too much of a risk, cancel the interview” Blaze told Brook Lynn. Ava told Scott that Agent Cates wanted to support her in her pursuit for custody. Ava hinted she and Agent Cates may haven’t known each other long, but they’ve gotten closer. John accused Jason of tipping off Valentin causing him to vanish. “If it wasn’t you, then who was it?” John asked. Before leaving, Anna promised to let Laura know if she heard anything. Sonny got defensive and accused Michael of doing everything he could not to help him. Ava assured she wasn’t involved with Agent Cates and promised not to get involved with him until after the custody suit was settled. Ava suggested Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) testify about the beating Sonny gave him. He could also subpoena Kristina who witnessed the entire thing. Ava vetoed Josslyn (Eden McCoy) testifying for her but suggested Carly. Carly stormed into Anna’s office and told her “Cates came for Jason this morning.” Since he had nothing to show for his Pikeman investigation, John told Jason his new assignment was to infiltrate a drug cartel being operated at a Federal prison. Carly thought Agent Cates was pushing Jason around because of Sonny. Brook Lynn suggested they took the risk and gave the interview, adding she could rephrase any question asked. Before storming out, Michael said Sonny was not the father he knew growing up. Carly told Anna that John is gunning for Sonny. John warned if Jason didn’t help him get Sonny, Carly was going to Pentonville. Ava told Scott how combative Sonny was and he’d be their strongest witness. Carly refused to hold off and let Anna handle it. She said it was between her and Jason and they’d fix it themselves. Ava told Scott how Sonny’s medication was being replaced by a placebo. Scott realized that Ava wanted him to get Sonny up on the stand and start pushing buttons. Ava reasoned Sonny would blow up and show he wasn’t capable of having custody of Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola). Diane warned Sonny if he could get a grip on what has got him there was no way she could convince any judge he’d be capable of raising any child. John warned Jason if he wanted to stay in Port Charles he’d give him enough evidence to convict Sonny. Jason realized Pikeman was just an excuse. “You’re in Port Charles to take Sonny down,” Jason said. John told Jason he either gave him the evidence against Sonny or he get on that bus.

Tuesday

Tracy (Jane Eliott) warned the person entering the stables, she wasn’t in the mood. It was Ned (Wally Kurth). Michael (Chad Duell) met with Kristina (Kate Mansi) at Bobbie’s and said “I think we have a problem.” “I’m here to let you know that John Cates wants to take you down,” Carly (Laura Wright) told Sonny (Maurice Benard). Jason (Steve Burton) came to see Anna (Finola Hughes). He told her Carly was half right when she said Cates was gunning for Sonny. Ned treated his mother’s wrist from where horse Hades bit her. “I know what today means just as well as you do” Ned told Tracy. Michael told Kristina after what he just witnessed, their dad won’t win custody of Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola). Carly told Sonny about Cates dragging Jason away from Danny to talk and she knows it was about Sonny. Jason told Anna that according to Cates he failed to meet the terms of their agreement and was on his way out of town. John assured Ava (Maura West) she wasn’t alone going up against Sonny. Ned commented as it was Luke’s (Anthony Geary) birthday, he knew he had to keep an eye out for her today. Tracy told Ned her marriages to Luke marked a significant turning point in her life. Ned said Luke was the love of her life. Anna suggested Jason go public with Cates violating their deal. “What happens to Carly?!” Jason asked. Michael told Kristina’s their dads failing paled in comparison to Ava’s. But he needed someone to testify on his behalf. John said Ava broke the mold of women who had been victimized by Sonny Cornithos. Sonny told Carly that Ava knew about the beating he gave Dex (Evan Hofer). Tracy told Ned without Luke she felt she was barely keeping her head above water. Ned let sharing his mother’s feelings with her. He said he knew Luke made her happy. Jason asked Anna to use her contacts to get Cates brought in. Otherwise, he (Jason) was on a bus tonight. John asked Ava to help him put Sonny away. Ava told John that Sonny would retaliate against her if he found out she gave him information. Sonny asked Carly to smooth things over with Michael for him. Michael asked Kristina to testify for their dad. Anna said it was on her for asking him to wait two hours before turning over the evidence. She told him that he and Carly were facing the consequences of the choices to live outside the law. But Anna promised she’d fix this. “Like you said, there’s no guarantees” Jason told Anna before leaving her office. “I’m just as much a liability as you are” Kristina told Michael, who realized their dad was on his own. Carly asked Sonny to name one person who wasn’t an employee that has stood by him. “You” Sonny said. Through tears, Carly told Sonny “I’m not cleaning up your messes.” John vowed he wouldn’t let “That poor excuse for a man push you around anymore.” Then, he and Ava kissed. Anna made a call and asked a man named Jim to arrange a face-to-face meeting with one of the agents in his charge John Cates because he was out of control. Carly interrupted Michael and Kristina before Jason entered Bobbie’s and pulled her away. Tracy found Sonny standing outside looking at the spot where Luke’s club once stood. They reminisce about Luke. John had to leave Ava’s hotel room when he got a call but asked whether they could pick this up later. Jason told Carly that Cates was sending him on another assignment. “I leave for Quantico tonight” Jason said. “Luke was always a good time” Sonny said. “He was the best,” Tracy said. Michael and Kristina said it wasn’t up to Ava whether Avery wanted her father in her life. John stormed into Anna’s office furious she’d been talking to his boss. “You set Jason free now. Or I swear I will bury you” Anna warned. Carly told Jason she was going to turn herself in. “And there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

Wednesday

Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) arrived on set for their interview with Prez Hilton“This is a great opportunity to show who you really are,” Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told Blaze, whose palms were sweaty because she was nervous about the interview. Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) asked Nina (Cynthia Watros) to read over some copy she wrote. “There’s absolutely no reason for you to continue to harass Jason” Anna told John (Adam Harrington), who questioned her familiarity with the evidence on Pikeman Jason (Steve Burton) gave him. “I’m turning myself in,” Carly told Jason. Prez Hilton introduced himself to Blaze and Kristina and said he was looking forward to interviewing them. Nina gave constructive criticism on Willow’s copy. Ava (Maura West) and Natalia (Eva LaRue) entered The Metro Court. Natalia eyed Ava annoyingly before getting on the elevator. Ava saw Nina and Willow together and interrupted. Carly told Jason she wouldn’t let him come back a different person like Drew (Cameron Mathison) by taking the undercover assignment at federal prison. “So was it you, are you the reason Valentin got away?” John asked Anna. When she talked about the mother daughter bond and asked if they’d be willing to talk with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Nina realized Ava was asking them to testify against Sonny (Maurice Benard). Prez Hilton told Blaze and Kristina what they were doing was brave and important and he was proud to be a part of it. Carly told Jason she refused to be the leverage Cates used against him. “However Cassadine escaped, Morgan is going to be the one who pays for it” John told Anna. Natalia poured herself a glass of water and watched Prez Hilton’s interview with Blaze and Kristina. Willow told Ava although she couldn’t speak for Michael (Chad Duell), she doubted he’d be willing to speak against Sonny. After Willow left the lobby, Nina reminded Ava how she pretended to be her friend while she got close to Sonny. Anna called John a bully and a coward. She accused John of using the law for his vendetta against Sonny. Jason told Carly since the day she showed up at the door and said she told everyone he was Michael’s father they’ve been family. “I don’t need to be here, you do. Because none of this works without you” Jason told Carly. “I just got you back,” Carly said through tears. Jason told Carly he needed to hear her say the words that she wouldn’t turn herself into Agent Cates. Ava asked Nina to have some sympathy and understanding given their past friendship. Nina said she couldn’t because of their history. She told Ava she was lucky that after she hurt Sonny’s precious Kristina all he was going to do was fight for sole custody of Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola). Blaze told Prez Hilton how she felt hearing her mother on that recording but added she hoped with time they could repair their relationship. Anna vowed to stop John’s corrupt vendetta. Carly told Jason she couldn’t say goodbye to him again. Nina told Ava she didn’t want any part of the custody suit but she was rooting for Sonny. Natalia listened as Kristina told Prez Hilton that Natalia’s views were hers and she was the real victim of the person who made that recording. Kristina ended it by saying as long as we learn from our mistakes there was hope for all of us. John told Anna she was as corrupt as Sonny and could be the one going to prison. After he left, Anna called someone to say she’d be out of the office for the rest of the day. Jason arrived at the bus station and called Danny and told his son they wouldn’t be able to go on the speedboat trip for a while. John returned to Ava’s hotel room and said he’d have Sonny soon. Carly returned to The Metro Court and asked Chris at the front desk to have two bellhops pack up all of John Cates’ things and bring them down to the lobby. She also asked for his room door to be reprogrammed for the next guest. “This is what we call taking out the trash” Carly said after Chris walked away. Jason told Danny he’s been put on another assignment that was taking out of town. Danny wanted them to get in the speedboat and go to Canada. “You’re a great son and I love you very much” Jason said as the announcement for the last bus to Albany came over the speaker. “Be good okay” Jason said ending the call.

Thursday

Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) asked Wiley how the surprise dinner outside the boathouse looked and whether his daddy would like it. Drew (Cameron Mathison) appeared wet from having gone swimming. Anna (Finola Hughes) was surprised to learn Pentonville didn’t have a prison named John or Jack (Charles Mesure) Brennan. Carly (Laura Wright) requested John Cates’ (Adam Harrington) luggage be put out on the sidewalk if he hadn’t picked it up within the hour. Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) told Sonny (Maurice Benard) the court awarded Ava (Maura West) visitation. John told Ava he arranged it so the person who would testify for Sonny would be sent out of town. Jason (Steve Burton) was surprised when Danny arrived at the bus station. TJ (Taj Bellows) told Molly (Kristen Vaganos) about Kristina (Kate Mansi) giving an interview with Prez Hilton then shows her his phone. Diane advised Sonny to comply with the court’s decision. Sonny told Diane how Ava was playing victim for Agent Cates. John told Ava sending the person who would testify for Sonny out of town would anger Sonny and make him volatile and not a parent stable enough to get custody. Danny asked Jason whether he was mad with him for coming to the bus station. Anna learned there weren’t any supporting records that Jack Brennan was ever at Pentonville. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) prepared Violet (Jophelle Love) a snack her grandmother used to make. Violet said she didn’t have a grandmother or a grandfather anymore. Then asked, “Why do people have to leave?” Drew told Willow he took a swim before going to a town hall meeting for public funding for libraries. John offered to get a bottle from his room to celebrate with Ava. Jason told Danny he wished he could stay and be the father he deserved. John tried to open his hotel room door but his key card wouldn’t work. Gio (Giovanni Mazzo) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) were finished working at the pool. Gio asked Josslyn about the woman Sonny was talking with noticing the conversation appeared serious. Diane told Sonny that Agent Cates testifying for Ava could tip the scales in her favor. Josslyn told her mother she and Gio were heading out. Seeing Carly was upset, she asked what was wrong and didn’t want to wait to talk about it later. When John came to the front desk about the problem with his key card, Carly asked Rick to take a break and said she’d take care of it. She told Agent Cates his keycard didn’t work because he was no longer a guest of the hotel. She ordered him to take his stuff and get out. Wiley told his father it was a surprise picnic he and mom planned. TJ and Molly realized Kristina claimed their baby as hers when she announced on Prez Hilton’s show that her pregnancy was a part of hers and Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) personal life. Jason told Danny he wouldn’t be able to call him where he was going and that it wasn’t his choice. Carly told John she was evicting him because it was her hotel and she had the right as owner. John suggested she call Jason and he’d change her mind. Carly angrily said he didn’t speak for Jason and no longer had leverage over her. And if he wanted to prove she was some big mob boss “Come and get me!” TJ and Molly couldn’t believe Kristina wanted their baby for herself. Drew watched Wiley, Michael and Willow’s family moment. Diane and Sonny watched the scene as John ordered Carly to stand down. When she refused, John placed her under arrest. Drew thanked Michael for arranging seats to be filled for the town hall. After Drew left, Michael told Willow he didn’t do it for Drew. Diane went over to help Carly, who told Josslyn to find Jason and he was at the bus stop. Anna entered The Metro Court. Sonny accused her of going after his ex wife to get to him. Anna assured she wasn’t behind this arrest. Jason told Danny he left the keys to his bike in his room and asked his son to take care of it while he was away. Willow told Michael that heading home was everything she cherished under one roof. Sasha agreed to be like Violet’s aunt and teach her cool recipes. Although both Anna and Diane warned him not to do this and that his case wouldn’t stick, John escorted a handcuffed Carly out of The Metro Court. Josslyn rushed into the bus station and told Jason he had to come back because Agent Cates arrested her mom.

Friday

Nina (Cynthia Watros) was annoyed that Madison canceled a meeting with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). When she opened her office door, Nina found Michael (Chad Duell) sitting at her desk. Molly (Kristen Vaganos) came over to see Kristina (Kate Mansi), who was reading the reactions to the Prez Hilton interview. She beamed they were positive not noticing how Molly was acting. Anna (Finola Hughes) told Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) disappeared from Pentonville as though he was never there. Jason (Steve Burton) told Diane (Carolyn Henessy) he could help with Carly’s (Laura Wright) defense. Diane asked how. “By giving me up instead,” Jason said. A handcuff Carly was led into the PCPD interrogation room and was surprised to see Sonny (Maurice Benard). He demanded the cop remove the cuffs. The officer told Sonny the cuffs would go back on after they were done talking and then she would be taken into federal custody. Sonny asked about her arrest and what happened. “You died,” Carly answered. Jason wanted Diane to say he was feeding information to Carly and was the real figure head. Diane said it wouldn’t work. Michael agreed to take Erica Kane’s calls about the missed meeting and then told Nina “I need your help.” Molly told Kristina she brought over papers for her to sign, relinquishing her parental rights. Kristina questioned the papers that said terminate not relinquish. Molly reminded Kristina she planned to give up her rights once the baby was born, why can’t she sign the papers now. “Who has the power to erase a prisoner’s entire existence?” Dante asked Anna. Michael told Nina he needed her to arrange an introduction for him with Congressman McConkey because he needed to ask the congressman to help his mother. Carly told Sonny how the FBI was using a recording of her admitting she was taking over his territory and has been using it as leverage over Jason, which is why he’s been working as an informant for John Cates. Michael told Nina about Carly’s arrest and how he needed McConkey’s help. Nina asked whether Michael was ready to be labeled as a co-conspirator with her. Diane told Jason she needed him to show up in a suit and tie everyday of Carly’s trial because he would be a calming effect for her. Jason suggested turning the table on Cates and said he knew someone who could get evidence on the FBI agent. “She owes me,” Jason told Diane. Anna asked Dante to get Brennan’s medical records from GH unless they were wiped too. Kristina apologized if what she said was taken the wrong way. She said she could call Kelly Ripa with an exclusive and set the record straight. Molly instead demanded she sign the papers. “No!” Kristina said, slamming them down on the table. When Kristina said she didn’t feel she shouldn’t sign the papers now because circumstances have changed and Molly and TJ (Taj Bellows) could break up, Molly got angry and said Kristina had a string of failed relationships and wasn’t equipped to be a mother. Michael said if she did this for him, once his mother was free he’d make sure Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) knew it was because of her. Anna told Dante how Agent Cates used Jason and Carly to get to Sonny. So she needed to know how Brennan fit in and why he was so important to the FBI. “No way is he sending my daughter’s mother to prison” Sonny vowed. Kristina told Molly sometimes she felt she and Allie (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) would be better parents to the baby. They were interrupted when Natalia (Eva LaRue) arrived. Molly left the papers and then left Kristina’s apartment. Kristina told Natalia that Allie was with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). Natalia said she’d come to talk with both of them but could come back. Kristina told Natalia to just say what she came there to say. Natalia said thank you didn’t seem enough. Nina reminded Michael how they could go sideways and hurt McConkey’s legacy and Drew (Cameron Mathison). Sonny vowed Cates would pay before leaving the PCPD interrogation room. Carly asked the cop to find Dante and bring him there. John came to Jason’s room and told him how the US Attorney would produce the paper he signed when he agreed to work as his informant. He was their star witness in the case against Carly and would be the one to bury her. Natalia told Kristina she respected her for what she said. Carly told Dante he had to find Sonny because he was volatile and going after Agent Cates. John told Jason he and Carly would be free if he brought him Sonny, who wanted to know Jagger Cates’ whereabouts then loaded his gun.
