A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Laura (Genie Francis) was surprised to see Heather (Alley Mills) at GH. “They let me out Laura. I’m a free woman!” Heather explained. Anna (Finola Hughes) came to Jack’s (Charles Mesure) office and asked him to tell her where Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was. Holly (Emma Samms) came to see Sonny (Maurice Benard). She was surprised to see Jason (Steve Burton) was there. Jason told her they wanted Sidwell’s demands. Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Drew (Cameron Mathison) they had a problem that could cost him the election. “That woman was your mother?” Cody (Josh Kelly) asked. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) admitted she lied her mother was dead and had lied about a lot of things she wished she hadn’t. But there was one thing she wished she’d lied about. And they couldn’t fix it because they couldn’t be together. Jack told Anna the bureau had no information about Valentin’s whereabouts. Jack told Anna that Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) would be by her mother’s side if she had tipped off Valentin. Nina told Drew that if the election was today, he’d lose because voters felt he was out of touch. She told him he had something his opponent Chelsey Grimes didn’t have. “Me,” Nina said. Heather told Laura that when Rick Lansing took over her case, things moved so fast. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) arrived at GH. After greeting Steven (Scott Reeves), he asked what Heather was doing there. Heather told Alexis (Nancy Grahan) and Laura that her son was taking her far away to Arizona and she was leaving Port Charles for good. Sonny told Holly that Jason filled him in on the things she left out. Holly asked for the diamonds she gave him as a downpayment back. But when he told her Sidwell was on his way to Port Charles, Holly said they may be able to work something out. Sasha told Cody that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) was her father then showed him the DNA test and said they couldn’t be together because they were cousins. Alexis told Heather getting some distance would help her change her life. Heather told Laura before she left, she had one favor to ask. Sonny told Holly they had to unload the diamonds before Sidwell tracked her down. Sasha told Cody her mother taught her how to be a good con woman. If not for her that, she’d never come to Port Charles to scam Nina and never would have met Brando (Johnny Wactor) and him. Sasha cried she thought her life was finally turning around. But she was wrong. “I set this whole thing in motion and I need to be the one to bring her back” Anna told Jack, adding “Charlotte and Valentin…What happens to them, that’s on me. What happens next…that’s on you.” Nina told Drew he needed a new look because “You need to be less Drew Quartermaine and more Drew Cain.” She said she was going to take him to meet the everyman. Laura called Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and told him Heather was released from prison but her son Steven was taking her to Arizona. But before she left, Heather wanted to visit with Ace. And because Laura couldn’t leave GH, Kevin would need to supervise. After Kevin agreed, Laura hung up and gave an elated Heather the news. Sonny told Holly the new terms were he got thirty-five percent but would hold onto the diamonds. Holly decided to keep the downpayment diamond. Cody sadly told Sasha he knew it was true because he was always reaching for something he couldn’t have. Cody told Sasha everytime he pictured the life he wanted, she was in it. Elizabeth told Laura how Heather called her to pick her up from Pentonville and they were both surprised to see Steven. Heather visited with Ace. Cody went to the Brown Dog Bar and ordered the strongest tequila. Sasha left a voicemail for Mac (John J. York) saying she was worried about Cody. Sonny arrived at GH and greeted Dante. Alexis told Laura the only person to blame for unleashing Heather onto an unsuspecting Port Charles was Rick. Dante told Sonny he felt like he gave his son false hope. After coming to see Jason who got Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to come over, Anna told Spinelli she needed The Jackal’s help. She told Spinelli she believed Jack Brennan was working independently to keep Valentin and Charlotte’s whereabouts off the books. Spinelli agreed to help her. “I knew I could count on you. Jason trusts you with his life. And I trust Jason with mine” Anna told Spinelli. Holly returned to the Quartermaine stables. Sasha told Holly this was the last time she’d see her. “You’re dead to me,” Sasha said. Glancing at Nina and Drew’s table, Cody thought about when Sasha told him about Drew sleeping with Nina and kissing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Cody drank his tequila then demanded to speak with Drew, interrupting him with a warrant officer navy seal. Drew suggested they go outside to talk. But Cody punched Drew, saying he had no right to tell him what to do when he was kissing his nephew’s wife while sleeping with her mother. Heather said goodbye to Ace but whispered to him she’d be back someday.

Tuesday

Dressed as Sherlock Holmes, Wiley told Michael (Temporarily being played by Robert Adamson) “The game is afoot.” Laura (Genie Francis) was glad to have Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Aiden (Colin Cassidy) at GH for support. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) was at her bedside when Sam (Kelly Monaco) woke up after her surgery. Tracy (Jane Eliott) and Ned (Wally Cassidy) discussed the congressional campaign. Ned told Tracy that Drew’s campaign would tank. Holly (Emma Samms) told Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) she needed her more than she thought. Ned’s PI told a video on her cell phone while Cody (Josh Swickward) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) fought. After Aiden and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) left GH for home, Lucky told Laura he spent all day at the federal building securing an emergency passport. Surprised, Laura asked whether he intended to use it. Wiley wanted Michael to be his sidekick Watson and gave him a hat to wear. Sasha told Holly it was little, way too late for her to be a mother as she’s never been there for her. Dex (Evan Hofer) and another cop entered the Brown Dog Bar. Dex told Cody not to make it worse and suggested they go down to the station. Drew told Dex how Cody had a little too much to drink and he wouldn’t be pressing charges. Drew told Nina (Cynthia Watros) they needed to do damage control. Ned and Tracy watched the video his PI emailed. Tracy called her son a genius and said they had to figure out the best way to use the video. Lucky told Laura how he met Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Sasha told Holly how Cody put her back together after she lost Liam and Brando and saved her when she was drugged and institutionalized. Dex told Cody that Drew wasn’t pressing charges. Cody urged Dex to just put him in the drunk tank to sleep it off because he didn’t want to talk with anyone. “Not even your dad?” Mac (John J. York) asked. Nina and Drew talked about what happened. Nina worried how it would affect her relationship with Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen). Ned wanted to show Drew the video to force him to sign over his ELQ shares. But Tracy suggested they rid the family of Drew once and for all by telling Michael. Mac told Dex he’d take it from there. After Officer Heller left the interrogation room, Mac told Cody he didn’t want to talk about the fight but the reason for it: Sasha. Holly told Sasha her lies cost her the love of her life. Dante pulled out a ring and asked Sam to marry him. Nina came over to the Quartermaine gatehouse. Wiley was happy to see Grandma Nina and she praised his Sherlock Holmes Halloween costume. After Wiley and Michael left for the main house, Nina told Willow she gave her some best advice and said she needed to tell Michael about Drew asap. Ned wondered whether he should let Drew ring because it may work to his advantage having a congressman in his pocket. Drew returned to the Quartermaine house. Sam told Dante it was okay if he still wanted Lulu. Laura told Lucky his instinct to run when the going got tough was because of how she and his father raised him. Holly told Sasha she just pulled off the biggest job of her career and was now in the position to set up her daughter for life. Cody told Mac how Sasha helped him be a better man. And time wouldn’t change the fact he and Sasha are cousins. “I have to leave Port Charles,” Cody told Mac. “Your circle of trust isn’t as tight as you think it is,” Nina told Willow, continuing to urge her to tell Michael about kissing Drew. Ned gave Drew his cellphone and Drew watched the video. Drew said he’d handle Cody. But Ned asked how Drew planned to handle James West, who’d overheard Willow talking with Nina about the kiss. “No matter where I go in the world, home is where you are,” Lucky told Laura. Elizabeth returned to wait with them. Isaiah appeared and was asked how Lulu was. Mac told Cody leaving Port Charles wouldn’t make it easier. He told Cody he was the one who’d done the work to become a better man. Sasha refused Holly’s offer to set her up with life, adding the con wouldn’t be her mother’s last because she lived for the rush she got from conning. Nina told Willow what happened at the bar. Willow realized Saja must have told Cody. Nina said she’d go with Willow when she told Michael. But she needed to do it now because she was running out of time. Isaiah told Laura and Lucky the surgery was successful. But they had to wait and see whether Lulu’s body accepted the transplant. Mac reminded Cody how upset James (Gary James Fuller) would be if he left Port Charles. Ned tried to blackmail Drew into voting his stock Ned’s way and naming him CEO. But Drew said he wouldn’t go along with it. Michael entered and questioned Drew about the bruises on his face. Sam accepted Dante’s marriage proposal. Nina and Willow entered the mansion in time to hear Drew confess to Michael about the kiss. Angry, Michael walked out while Nina comforted Willow.

Wednesday

Jason (Steve Burton) arrived at GH with Danny and Scout to see Sam (Kelly Monaco). Alexis (Nancy Grahan) visited Sam and commented how good her daughter looked after surgery. Trina (Tabyana Ali) came to her mother’s office and asked Portia (Brooke Kerr) whether it was true Heather Webber (Alley Mills) left Port Charles and said “You wouldn’t have anything to do with that.” Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) was worried because Michael (Chad Duell) didn’t come home last night. “Why would you come here?” Willow asked when Drew (Cameron Mathison) knocked on the door. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) woke up in a strange bed. She remembered drinking shots. When Sasha turned around, she saw she was lying next to Michael. When James (Gary James Fuller) asked Cody (Josh Kelly) what he was going as for Halloween, Maxie (Kristen Storms) said someone who made a big mistake. Sasha remembered Michael sitting next to her at the Brown Dog Bar ordering a tequila. She also remembered them going to a hotel, kissing and falling onto the bed. Michael woke up and turned around. He was shocked to find himself in bed with Sasha. Drew apologized to Willow and asked why she showed up at the Quartermaines last night. Willow said she was there to tell Michael everything Nina (Cynthia Watros) told her. Rocco was rushing to eat because he wanted to get to GH. Sam showed Alexis her engagement ring. Alexis was happy for her daughter, commenting that she and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) already had something special. Trina told Portia how things were going at PCU with her classes. After James left, Maxie asked about Cody’s hangover. Sasha and Michael were both modified and hungover. Sasha told Michael she already knew about Drew and Willow kissing because she saw them on the Fourth of July. Michael told Sasha he wasn’t angry with her because it was on Drew and Willow. Scout called her mom a hero for donating a part of her lover. Sam told Alexis how she and Dante just work, adding “I just never thought it could be this way.” Alexis told Sam she showed her what a healthy relationship looked like, adding she was never able to give her daughters the family they deserved. Alexis said what Sam just gave Dante and Danny (being Lulu’s liver donor) was the greatest gift. Maxie told Cody that Mac (John J. York) wanted him to spend the night at her house because he knew she could talk some sense into him. Michael was surprised when Sasha told him Willow confided in her there was a second kiss. Willow asked Drew why he decided to tell Michael after all the time he told her not to do it. Dante asked Rocco what he felt about him and Sam getting married, adding he wouldn’t be upset. “What about mom?” Rocco asked Dante. Seeing the look on Alexis’ face, Jason asked Danny to take his sister to Bobbie’s. After they left, Jason rushed to Alexis and asked “What happened?” “I don’t know,” Alexis answered. Portia and Lucas (Van Hansis) worked to revive Sam. Portia said it must be an embolism. A code blue was called and a crash cart was ordered. Maxie told Cody she knows he and Sasha are first cousins. Maxie asked why he went after Drew. Willow asked Drew why he blindsided her by telling Michael. Drew told Willow how Ned (Wally Kurth) and Tracy (Jane Eliott) found out and were blackmailing him. Willow said the only person who could have told Cody was Sasha. She couldn’t believe Sasha did that to her. Michael said a second kiss means Willow made a choice. Cody told Maxie he’s been trying to be a good guy and look where it’s got him. Michael told Sasha although there was plenty of blame to go around. But Drew was the most to blame. Cody called Drew a sleaze and he wanted to put him in his place. Maxie told Cody he had a family who could help him through what happened with Sasha. Willow told Drew when Michael came home, she was going to tell him everything, including about the second kiss. Lucas and Portia worked to survive Sam. Dante told Rocco when Sam came into their lives, she unstuck them. Alexis told Jason she was just with Sam, who told her Dante proposed and showed her ring. So, Alexis didn’t know what happened. Sam was in v-fib and the efforts to revive her were unsuccessful. “I’m scared,” Alexis told Jason. Rocco told Dante how Danny and Scout were great. “Sam’s the one who gave us a family again” Dante told Rocco. Danny and Scout sat on a bench outside Bobbie’s waiting for Jason. Lucas continued to work to revive Sam until Portia told him it had been thirty minutes. Sadly, Lucas was forced to call it “Time of death five forty-eight.”

Thursday

Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) told Drew (Cameron Mathison) telling Michael (Chad Duell) everything was the right thing to do. Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) told Michael that Drew wasn’t responsible for them ending up in the hotel room together. Chase (Josh Swickward) joined Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Danny and congratulated him on his engagement. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) told Jason (Steve Burton) Sam (Kelly Monaco) would be okay because she had her whole life ahead of her. Lucas (Van Hansis), Portia (Brooke Kerr) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) came out to the waiting area. Portia told Alexis she was sorry. But Alexis refused to believe her daughter was gone because as her mother, she’d know. Alexis walked away. Jason asked Elizabeth to tell him what happened. Willow told Drew she didn’t care who was blackmailing who, she only cared about Michael. Sasha told Michael they both lost something irreplaceable and agreed no one needed to know what happened between them. Alexis came to Sam’s room. Feeling her daughter was cold, Alexis asked Portia for a blanket. Portia returned with a blanket and told Alexis to take all the time she needed. Before leaving the hotel room, Michael told Sasha he’d let her know what he decided. Elizabeth tells Jason that Sam had a heart attack. Jason was confused since something like a heart condition would have been found on all the tests. Elizabeth said they’d know more after an investigation. Alexis got into bed with Sam and pleaded with God to bring her daughter back. She said he should have taken her because mothers aren’t supposed to bury their children. Alexis said Sam was doing something good saving another mother’s daughter. Drew came to the Quartermaine stables and told Cody (Josh Kelly) he could take it out on him. “But leave Willow out of it. She’s a good person” Drew told Cody. Michael returned to the gatehouse and told Willow he spent the night at a hotel to think. Jason didn’t know how he’d tell Danny and Scout. “Do it for Sam,” Elizabeth said. Alexis told Sam she didn’t have a say when she had to leave her in a hospital before. Alexis came back into the waiting room. Jason told Alexis he wanted to say goodbye if it was okay with her. Willow explained to Michael how the kiss happened. Drew offered to pay Cody fifty thousand to stay quiet. Willow didn’t tell Michael about the second kiss. She told him to believe she loved her. Jason talked to Sam’s body and said she was supposed to outlive him. He said whenever he looked at her, he would smile. “When I look at Danny, I see so much of you,” Jason said. Alexis told Elizabeth she wanted some answers about her daughter. Michael told Willow one kiss wasn’t worth losing their marriage. They started kissing and undressing. Drew wired the fifty thousand into Cody’s account and suggested he buy himself something nice. “It might put you in a better mood,” Drew said as he left. Dante and Danny walked off the elevator in time to hear Alexis say her daughter was dead. Jason thought about moments with Sam beginning when they first met. He told her he remembered everything and promised he’d never forget. Leaving the room, Jason stood at the door and cried.

Friday

Robert (Tristan Rogers) was surprised to see Holly (Emma Samms) at his office as he thought she’d be off to her next adventure. Georgie announced to Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) she decided not to wear her Halloween costume because she was too old for trick or treating. After the super let Kristina (Kate Mansi) into Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) penthouse so she could surprise her sister by doing something special for her when she got home. Molly (Kristen Vaganos) asked what Kristina was doing there. Laura (Genie Francis) told Sonny (Maurice Benard) the doctor’s were cautiously optimistic about Lulu’ chance of surviving the transplant. Jason (Steve Burton) told Carly (Laura Wright) that Sam died. Rocco and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) couldn’t believe Sam didn’t make it. Dante commented he was just with her and she was fine. Holly told Robert that Sasha blocked her number. Robert had one thing to ask Holly before she thought. Maxie and Spinelli didn’t want Georgie to rush growing up. Jason told Carly that Sam had a heart attack. He said he needed her help because Danny and Scout were coming back to Bobbie’s after trick or treating. And also, Drew (Cameron Mathison) needed to know. Carly couldn’t believe they were trying to figure out how to tell people Sam loved she was gone. Portia explained to Dante that an investigation was underway to figure out why Sam died. When she and Sonny got off the elevator and saw Dante and Rocco visibly upset, Laura asked “What happened…is it Lulu?” “I want to know why you didn’t tell me I had a daughter?” Robert asked Holly. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) told Laura it wasn’t Lulu, it was Sam. Laura was shocked Sam didn’t make it. Alexis told Dante how Sam was showing her engagement ring then couldn’t breathe and closed her eyes and didn’t open them again. Alexis comforted Dante. Carly came to the Quartermaine and told Drew that Sam passed away. Drew couldn’t believe it then asked “Where’s my daughter?” Danny and Scout returned from trick or treating and met Jason outside Bobbie’s. “Can we go see mommy now?” Scout asked. Holly told Robert she didn’t tell him because she didn’t want to alter perfection on what they had and was selfish. Robert told Holly they missed out on something that could have been fantastic. Molly berated Kristina for not reading the email she sent about recovery for liver transplant donors. Laura told Alexis she was sorry for her loss then took Rocco to the chapel to say a prayer for Sam. Alexis told Sonny she had to tell Molly and Kristina before they heard it from someone else. Before leaving, Alexis thanked Dante for loving her daughter and told him he made her happy. Sonny asked Dante whether there was anything he needed. Dante said he needed to see Sam. Jason told Danny and Scout their mother died. Dante came to see Sam and commented she looked like she was sleeping but would never wake up. Holly recalled how Robert risked everything to protect her even before he was in love with her. “I just was never supposed to end like this,” Drew said. “No it wasn’t,” Carly agreed. Jason explained that everything that made their mom special was no longer at the hospital, those things were now heaven. Scout cried because she didn’t want her mommy to be dead. Jason comforted Danny and Scout. Alexis came home to find Molly and Kristina arguing again and told them to just stop. Dante thanked Sam for choosing him and agreeing to be his wife. “I don’t know how I’m going to do this without you,” Dante told Sam. “My time with you was by far my most fulfilling” Holly told Robert, adding he defined her whole existence. She told him she wouldn’t change that time for anything in the world. Georgie came downstairs in her Halloween costume. “I’m Zenon, girl of the twenty-first century.” At the GH chapel, Rocco told Laura he wanted his mom to live but didn’t want Sam to die. Dante blamed himself, telling Sonny that Lulu needed a donor and Sam did it for him and Rocco. Alexis asked Kristina and Molly to sit down and sadly told them Sam didn’t make it. While Kristina didn’t believe it, Molly cried and Alexis comforted her. Robert told Holly he could never hate her but didn’t know whether he could forgive her. Rocco told Laura how he was jealous of Danny and Scout for having their mother. Jason brought Danny and Scout back to the Quartermaine mansion. Drew comforted his daughter. Alexis told Molly and Kristina how happy Sam was about being engaged then comforted her heartbroken girls.
