A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Holly (Emma Samms) asked Robert (Tristan Rogers) whether he was cutting her out of her life. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) expected to find trick or treaters on the other side of the door. But instead, it was Jason (Steve Burton). Rocco felt guilty and told Laura (Genie Francis) when Sam (Kelly Monaco) and his mom were in surgery the one thing going through his mind was if one of them lived, he prayed it was his mom. “How am I going to live without her?” Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) asked Sonny (Maurice Benard). Alexis (Nancy Grahan) broke down and apologized to Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) that “I’m supposed to be comforting you but I can’t.” Robert told Holly he didn’t want her to disappear from his life and asked “Is it possible for us to rebuild the trust?” Drew (Cameron Mathison) found Scout drawing a family picture of her, Danny and her mommy at the park where she used to take them. Scout told Drew she didn’t want mommy to be gone. Carly (Laura Wright) found Danny sorting Halloween candy. He told her that it was his job now to take care of Scout and that’s what he was going to do. Jason told Maxie and Spinelli that Sam had a heart attack and died. Dante told Sonny that Sam saved his life after his PTSD from the WSB assignment. He wondered who would pull him to the other side this time. “This wasn’t supposed to happen. I wasn’t supposed to lose my children” Alexis cried and was comforted by Molly and Kristina. Holly regretted not telling Robert about Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Rocco told Laura how Sam never treated him like she wasn’t one of her kids. Laura told Rocco if Sam were here she wouldn’t blame him so he shouldn’t blame himself. Dante told Sonny when he left the hospital, he had to start some sort of life without Sam. But he didn’t want to live without her. Molly cried the last time they saw Sam, she stormed out the door because they were fighting…she was doing this beautiful thing for Lulu and they made it about them. Alexis told her girls they had to hold onto each other because they were all they had now. Maxie couldn’t believe Sam was gone because she was doing okay. Jason told Maxie and Spinelli they let him see her to say goodbye. Holly told Robert she should have told him about Sasha as soon as she found out he was alive. She told Robert she never wanted to see him look back at her with hatred in his eyes. He reminded her he surprised her before by forgiving him and should have had faith he’d do it again. “I knew something was wrong, but I never thought my mom could die,” Danny told Carly. Drew told Scout she wasn’t alone and was surrounded by family and people who would help get her through this. Spinelli said Sam was the first person to really see him. Jason told Maxie and Spinelli he would always be grateful to Sam for giving him their friendships. “Robert, I do have faith in you. I’m the one I don’t have faith in” Holly told Robert. Carly told Danny he gave Scout a good Halloween until they found out about mom. She asked whether she could hug him and told him he had so many people in his corner. Drew told Scout the love was stronger than death and she should go on believing her mom would never leave her. Scout told her daddy she’s glad he’s there. “What we think and what we feel does not make us responsible for what happens” Laura told Rocco, assuring him there was a medical reason for what happened. “She gave your mom the most precious gift and that’s how I’m going to remember her.” Dante told Sonny how he wanted to make their family permanent and wanted to make Sam his wife. But now it’s over. “It’s over before I ever begin,” Dante said. Jason comforted Spinelli then left. Maxie comforted Spinelli. “Sam is gone…we’re never going to see her again. How is that possible?” Molly cried and Alexis comforted her. Sonny told Dante he knew he would make it because he had to go on for the children. He promised that when he went on for the children’s sake, it would help him go on. “You got them. And we got you” Sonny told Dante. Then, they hugged. Rocco lit a candle and asked Laura to help him say a prayer for Sam because he wasn’t sure what he should say. Scenes of those who loved her showed as Laura prayed they would be good to each other and that Sam would watch over them until they saw her again. Holly told Robert there’s never been a moment where she’s loved anyone more than she loved him right now. Then, they kissed.

Tuesday

Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) confronted Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) demanding to know how she could do this to her “I thought you were my friend.” TJ (Taj Bellows) gave Alexis (Nancy Grahan) Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) engagement ring for safe keeping because Sam couldn’t wear it during the autopsy. “You’re not cutting open my sister” Kristina (Kate Mansi) said angrily. Jason (Steve Burton) spoke with Carly (Laura Wright) on the phone and said he felt before she was still at the Quartermaines in case Danny or Scout needed something. Drew (Cameron Mathison) told Carly he didn’t know how he’d raise Scout on his own. Michael (Chad Duell) entered and sarcastically asked “What’s the matter Drew…your poll numbers down?” At Cafe Cherie, Ava (Maura West) asked Nina (Cynthia Watros) whether they could get back to the friendship they once had. Diane (Carolyn Henessy) entered the DA’s office and found Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Holly (Emma Samms) together. Drew left the room and Carly told Michael that Sam died. Molly (Kristen Vaganos) told Kristina an autopsy was the only way to find out what happened to Sam. TJ (Taj Bellows) told Alexis he’d get a patient advocate to walk her through the process of arranging the burial. Alexis told Molly and Kristina she needed them not to argue. Sasha apologized for telling Cody (Josh Kelly) about the kiss and told Willow she and Cody weren’t together anymore. After Holly left, Diane said she was there to drop off a motion. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) told Alexis as her patient advocate she would walk her through the process and try to make it as painless as possible. TJ asked Molly how she was doing. Michael told Carly how Sam was there for him even when he was little and was like the big sister he never had. Kristina called Michael and said “I’m at the chapel. Can you come here? I need you.” Nina told Ava it would take some time rebuilding their friendship. Nina told Ava how Cody Bell punched Drew and reveal Drew kissed his nephew’s wife. Sasha told Willow she and Cody couldn’t be together because it turned out they were first cousins, adding her mother told her Robert Scorpio was her father. When she learned Sasha lied about her mother being dead, Willow said she felt like she never knew her and asked whether they were ever friends. Jason came to Diane’s office and told her Sam had a heartache this evening and died. Kristina screamed at God about why he took her daughter and her sister. “I have nothing left!!! Haven’t I suffered enough!!!” Michael entered and comforted Kristina. “You’ve got no one else to blame for this mess but yourself” Sasha said. Holly entered her hotel room and found the room ransacked. “I don’t understand this. Sam was fearless. Sam was invincible. And to lose her like this is unthinkable” Diane told Jason. Then, she told Jason about walking in on Robert and Holly together and had to face the fact he was still in love with Holly. Nina told Ava that she and Drew had sex more than once. Sasha told Willow she couldn’t work for the Quartermaines anymore and would give Olivia (Lisa LoCierco) time to find a replacement. When Carly entered, they asked what’s wrong. Alexis told Molly since she was still grieving the loss of her own child, if she was holding it together for herself, that was okay. But if she is holding it together for her, she shouldn’t. Kristina told Michael how Sam never judged her and was always there for her. Michael told Kristina she had to be there for her mom and Molly. And although it wasn’t supposed to be that she was the big sister, that’s how it was. Diane told Jason that what Robert felt for her was nothing like what he felt for Holly. Michael ignored a phone call from Willow to comfort Kristina. Ava told Nina she had to be the one to tell Willow she slept with Drew. Willow kissed Drew again. Diane told Jason what happened to Sam made her realize life was too short. Robert deserved to be with the love of his life. And she deserved to be with someone who loved her as much as Robert loved Holly. Holly came back to Robert’s office and told him she was in trouble and needed his help. Armed men rushed into the Quartermaine kitchen and one grabbed Sasha. Sidwell appeared and told Carly to tell Sasha’s mother he wanted his diamonds back.

Wednesday

“What kind of trouble are we talking about?” Robert (Tristan Rogers) asked Holly (Emma Smms) who told him when she left Africa she took Sidwell’s diamonds and now he wanted them back. Carly (Laura Wright) came to Brennan’s office and told Jack (Charles Mesure) about Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) abduction. Anna (Finola Hughes) was worried about wherever Holly goes, trouble seemed to follow. Curtis (Donnell Turner) came over to see how Alexis (Nancy Grahan) was doing. At GH, Lucas (van Hansis) asked Portia (Brooke Kerr) whether there was any word on Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) autopsy. Michael (Chad Duell) asked Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) whether she’s seen Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Willow and Drew (Cameron) lie on the floor after making love. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) returned home and for a moment, thought it was Sam when Sonny (Maurice Benard) entered. Robert agreed to help Holly. Jack showed Carly a photo of Sidwell on his tablet. Carly was confused because Sidwell said to tell Sasha’s mother to give back his diamonds. But Sasha’s mother was dead. Brad (Parry Shen) watched as Portia wanted to make sure Lucas was okay working. Dante asked Sonny what happened to his family now that Sam was gone. Scout came to Brook Lynn worried because she woke up from a nightmare and found her daddy gone. Willow told Drew this was a one time thing that couldn’t happen again. Portia asked to speak with Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Alexis assured Curtis she had no intention of drinking. Sonny assured Dante his family will help him get through this. Brook Lynn suggested hot chocolate to help cure Scout’s nightmares. Anna came to Jack’s office and told Carly that Holly Sutton was Sasha’s mother. Carly said all Holly had to do was give Sidwell his diamonds back. Anna said Holly wasn’t known to do the right thing. Lucas researched post surgical complications. Olivia came over to see how her son was doing. “Is it answers you’re looking for… or a scapegoat?” Isaiah asked. Brad watches Lucas do research about Sam’s post surgical complications. Alexis told Curtis she wouldn’t dishonor Sam’s memory by diving into a bottle. “Her memory will keep me sober.” Scout ran to Drew. He asked her to promise him she’ll always remember her mommy loved her. Isaiah assured Portia that Dr. Jones did a textbook surgery. Lucas took a shower and looked at the photo of him and Sam in his locker. “Our number one priority is getting Sasha out of this situation safely” Anna told Jack and Carly. Robert told Holly he wanted to get to know his daughter and wanted her to be a part of it. “Our lives combine together perfectly. I should have known it wouldn’t last” Dante told his parents. Michael got a Motion Alert on his cell phone. And was shocked to see a video of Drew and Willow kissing in the nursery. Carly told Jack that because Sonny and Jason (Steve Burton) lost someone important to them, she decided to come to him because he was the next best thing. Anna came to the DA’s office and told Robert and Holly that Sidwell kidnapped their daughter. Sonny came over to Alexis’ house. She talked about the arrangements for Sam’s funeral and lamented that her daughter was dead. While Willow went upstairs to help Drew tuck Scout in, Michael looked at the video of them making love again.

Thursday

Alexis (Nancy Grahan) looked at pictures of Sam (Kelly Monaco) and thought about when her daughter told her Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) proposed. Sonny (Maurice Benard) brought Alexis a cup of tea. She told him she didn’t want to picture a world without her daughter in it. Lucas (Van Hansis) told Brad (Parry Shen) he couldn’t face the possibility he might be the reason his sister was dead. Curtis (Donnell Turner) asked Portia (Brooke Kerr) about her day and told her she didn’t have to pretend with him. Jack (Charles Mesure) asked Carly (Laura Wright) to leave his office. Anna (Finola Hughes) told Robert (Tristan Rogers) that there wasn’t any guarantee Holly (Emma Samms) would hand the diamonds over to Sidwell. “She might just take off,” Anna said. Holly told Jason (Steve Burton) she needed her diamonds back because Sidwell had her daughter. Sidwell called Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) feisty like her mother. Lucas blamed himself for agreeing to do the surgery. “You didn’t make a mistake…this is not your fault” Lucas assured. Portia told Curtis sometimes her job was really hard. Carly realized Jack was worried about her. Anna told Robert because Holly knew he’d save their daughter, she may take off with the diamonds. Holly thanked Jason for agreeing to give her diamonds back. Sidwell told Sasha he didn’t want money, he wanted what Holly took back from him. Jason told Holly he was going with her. Jack threatened Carly with protective custody. After she left his office, Jack made a call and said he wanted all eyes kept on the woman leaving his office Carly Spencer until he said otherwise. Brad told Lucas he did everything he could. Alexis lamented missing Sam’s entire childhood and teen years. “I should have never let her go,” Alexis told Sonny. Portia blamed herself for Sam’s death because she should have listened to her gut and never let Lucas operate on Sam. “Back off!” Carly ordered when she walked in on Brad and Lucas hugging. Sasha told Sidwell the biggest con Holly ever ran was pretending to be a mother. Sasha told Sidwell to let her go and she’d get his diamonds back for him. Anna and Robert were at Brennan’s office when Holly entered with Jason and the diamonds and told Brennan to get her daughter back. Alexis blamed herself for Sam’s terrible childhood and said she was being punished for it now. “If I could go back, I’d never give her up,” Alexis told Sonny. Portia told Curtis she was afraid the autopsy report would say Sam died from a surgeon error. Sonny told Alexis to never doubt Sam loved her. After Brad left, Carly told Lucas not to turn to Brad. Jack asked Anna to leave his office. Lucas asked Carly whether operating on Sam was the right choice. Carly told Lucas that Sam wouldn’t want him blaming himself or thinking her death was for nothing. Sonny told Alexis she was a good role model. Sidwell refused Sasha’s deal to retrieve his diamonds and warned if Holly didn’t give him back his diamonds, she’d pay for her mother’s crime. Jack told Anna he was giving her deniability in the unorthodox methods he’d have to take to save Sasha. After Robert assured Anna he was sure, she left Brennan’s office. Robert wanted to know everything Jack had on Sidwell. Holly’s phone rang and it was Sidwell. Portia told Curtis he’d never have to be without her. “Alexis, you may have not been there at the beginning. But you were there at the finish” Sonny said. Sidwell told Holly to follow his instructions to the letter, then hung up.

Friday

Rick (Rick Hearst) came to the police commissioner’s office and asked Anna (Finola Hughes) “Bad time?” Alexis (Nancy Grahan) came over to the Quartermaine mansion to say good night to Scout. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) told Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) he didn’t know what he was feeling. Cody (Josh Kelly) told Tracy (Jane Eliott) if Sasha left town, he’d be the last person she’d tell. Holly (Emma Samms) worried about Sasha. Jason (Steve Burton) met with Sidwell to exchange the diamonds. Sidwell said it was a pity he wouldn’t get to see Holly’s face when she found out her daughter was dead. Alexis told Olivia (Lisa LoCicerco) she thinks the kids should live with her because Sam (Kelly Monaco) wouldn’t want Jason to raise Danny alone. Dante told Brook Lynn he didn’t know how he’d raise the kids alone without Sam. Cody told Tracy he and Sasha were first cousins because she just found out Robert Scorpio was her father. Tracy told Cody to count himself lucky he dodged a bullet. Rick asked Anna where she got the photos of Kristina’s fall. Robert told Holly they had to trust Jason and Brennan would bring Sasha home. Sasha looked for a way to escape. Jason gave Sidwell one of the diamonds and said he wanted to see Sasha first before Sidwell saw the rest of them. Brook Lynn assured Dante he’ll be okay raising the kids. Cody told Tracy that Sasha being a con woman made her perfect for him. Alexis and Olivia talked about how Sam was the glue that held the family together. Rick called the photos of Kristina’s fall convenient. Sidwell told Jason that Sasha only had five minutes before the bomb he rigged in the room he held her exploded. Jason gave Sidwell the bag of diamonds and Sidwell wished Jason good luck as he rushed to get to Sasha in time. Sasha heard a ticking and discovered the bomb. Cody told Tracy that Drew (Cameron Mathison) paid him fifty thousand dollars to keep quiet about kissing his nephew’s wife and sleeping with her mom. Tracy told Cody the family knew and added Cody should have held out for a hundred thousand. Anna accused Rick of taking Ava’s (Maura West) case to get back at Sonny (Maurice Benard). Jason found the right room and called out to Sasha. He told her to get away from the door and kicked it in. “We’ve got five seconds” Sasha said as she and Jason ran out quickly. Jack (Charles Mesure) was knocked off his feet by the explosion. Brook Lynn told Chase she missed him every second he was in Seattle. They commented how lucky they were. Alexis and Olivia talked about how happy Dante was buying the ring for Sam and how happy she was about the proposal. After asking Rick to see himself out, Anna received a phone and asked “Where?” Robert received a call about the warehouse explosion and asked whether Sasha got out. Holly left to go find Sasha. Chase told Brook Lynn how good it was to see Finn (Michael Easton) acting like his old self. He gave her a message from Violet (Jophelle Love) who said she wanted them to have a baby soon because she didn’t want to wait forever. Dante picked up the engagement ring and commented to Alexis how it felt like he brought it a long time ago. Jack showed Jason and Sasha into his office. Jason told Sasha he got involved because Carly (Laura Wright) was with her when Sidwell took her. And he was in Africa with Holly. Jason told Sasha he only found out Holly took the diamonds a few days ago but she gave them up to save her. Anna met Dex (Evan Hofer) on the pier and he updated her about the warehouse explosion. Holly and Robert rushed into Jack’s office. Holly and Robert hugged their daughter. Tracy told Cody she’d teach him about investing the money Drew gave him. She also said while he was living above the stables, he should keep an eye on Drew to see if he strayed again. Tracy told Cody they were in this together. Alexis told Dante she thinks Danny and Scout should live with her. Dante wanted them to all stay at the Quartermaine mansion for the time being. Chase told Brook Lynn they’d try to make a baby the old fashioned way tonight. Anna called Jason and told him she needed answers from him about the warehouse explosion. Holly told Sasha the diamonds she gave Sidwell were real just like her love for her daughter…even if Sasha didn’t believe it.
