A weekly column highlighting the Port Charles happenings during the past week on General Hospital. Read below to find out what you missed or to refresh your memory in time for next week.

Monday

Lucy (Lynn Herring) opened the door at Wyndemere to someone and said “Welcome to your new home.” Portia (Brooke Kerr) confirmed for Lucas (Van Hansis) that “Elizabeth Baldwin was suspended.” At GH, Cyrus (Jeff Kober) asked Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) “How does it feel to play God.” Josslyn (Eden McCoy) packed up clothes and photos of her and Dex (Evan Hofer) from his apartment. She told Trina (Tabyana Ali) she had to find a way to live with it. Jack (Charles Mesure) told Collette she had some nerve showing her face after her failure in Prague. Laura (Genie Francis) told Martin (Michael E. Knight) Lulu (Alexa Havins) found Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) but couldn’t bring her home. Carly (Laura Wright) stormed into Cornithos Coffee warehouse and told Jason (Steve Burton) that Wiley called her and was fine “But Willow’s lost her damn mind.” Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) came to Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) hotel room and told him Michael was trying to take away her kids. Michael came to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse and told his father his marriage was over. Jenz Sidwell (Carlos Rota) entered Wyndemere and Lucy showed him around. Jack told Collette by not following his orders she alerted Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). She told him she knew a lot about Port Charles. Portia told Lucas she was going to do everything in her power to make sure the truth comes out and the first scapegoat (Elizabeth) isn’t blamed. Isaiah asked Cyrus whether what Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) said about him was true. Carly told Jason the trip to DC was Drew’s way of getting Willow into his bed again. “Michael’s punishing me for being with you” Willow told Drew. “I’m going to do whatever it takes to stay in my kids’ lives.” Michael told Sonny. Collette told Jack she told the unauthorized shot because Valentin was going to get arrested. She questioned why Jack was trying to keep Valentin alive. “Why are you trying to supervise your supervisor?” Jack asked. Laura told Martin keeping Charlotte in close proximity to Valentin puts her in danger. Lucy offered to introduce Jenz to Port Charles society. Jenz asked Lucy to join him for a couple of friendly glasses of champagne. Willow sadly told Drew that she could lose her kids. Michael told Sonny he’s following Diane’s (Carolyn Henessy) recommendation with a progressive strike. But what he really wants is a fifty/fifty joint custody. Michael told Sonny he can’t understand how he and Willow went so wrong. Carly told Jason she’d never forgive Willow for messing with Michael’s heart. “I want the person who stabbed Dex to be caught and punished,” Josslyn told Trina. “Even if you get the answers to all your questions, you’re still not going to miss Dex any less,” Trina told Josslyn. “This animal tried to kill my best friend,” Brad (Parry Shen) told Isaiah about Cyrus. Lucy told Jenz she could introduce him to Congressman Drew Quartermaine. Drew told Willow he was in her corner. Michael told Sonny that Willow molded herself to please other people. Jack was certain Charlotte lured them to Valentin once and will do it again. Laura told Martin that Lulu won’t rest until her daughter is home. Josslyn told Trina the monster who took Dex’s chance to do so much good needed to be punished. Jack looked at the video footage from December 10 of Dex’s stabbing and saw Cyrus. Lucas dragged Brad away. After Isaiah walked away, Portia told Cyrus he was no longer welcome to visit patients at GH. Willow called Martin and told him about Michael’s pursuit for custody. Martin told Willow they’d meet in the morning. He frowned when she told him she was in DC with Drew. Michael told Sonny he didn’t want his kids growing up thinking badly of him. “I’m not gonna stand by and watch Drew trash my son’s life” Carly told Jason before leaving the warehouse. Martin told Laura that Willow had to be smarter if she hoped to win custody of her kids. Lucas told Brad even on his worst days he couldn’t compare himself to Cyrus. Portia told Cyrus she’d be calling the Port Charles Mission. “You’re done Mr. Renault, “ Portia said. Cyrus glared at Portia as he got on the elevator and left GH. Lucy gave Jenz a nice set of poker cards. Willow worried Drew being with her would make his job in Congress harder. Jason arrived at Sonny’s penthouse. “You’re not alone in this,” Sonny told Michael. Sonny told Michael to wait while he and Jason talked in the hall. Lucas called Carly and canceled joining her for dinner. But Jack appeared and asked about joining her. After Trina left Dex’s apartment, Josslyn went through the last drawer and found Dex’s gun. Drew told Willow not even his congressional would get him to deny his feelings for her. While Jason and Sonny talked in the hall, Michael noticed something thrown into the fireplace. The explosion alerted Jason and Sonny who attempted to go back inside the apartment. Michael was on fire!

Tuesday

General Hospital new episode scheduled for today postponed until tomorrow.

Wednesday

While Jason (Steve Burton) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) were in the hallway discussing a meeting, Michael (Chad Duell) noticed something in the fireplace. Soon, there was an explosion and he was engulfed in flames. “Call an ambulance!” Jason ordered Sonny and rushed inside to help Michael who was calling for help. Sonny called for the ambulance. Meanwhile in DC, Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) fell into bed. Jason, Sonny and Michael were in the hallway. “We’re going to get you out of here” Sonny told Michael. Carly (Laura Wright) told Jack (Charles Mesure) “You’re in luck, my dinner date cancelled.” Jack joined Carly and she thanked him for helping Josslyn (Eden McCoy) the other night. Josslyn told Trina (Tabyana Ali) she was going to stay at the apartment for a while. “I’m not sure it’s a great idea for you to be alone. At least not right now” Trina told Josslyn. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) told Lois (Rena Sofer) she took a pregnancy test on Christmas and it was negative. She sadly said she was beginning to wonder whether she and Chase (Josh Swickward) would ever have a baby. Chase offered to get Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) some food when she said she felt light headed. Portia (Brooke Kerr) told Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) she had Cyrus (Jeff Kober) banned from seeing patients at GH. Isaiah said Cyrus didn’t strike him as the kind of person who’d go away quietly. Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Curtis (Donnell Turner) she was taking the company jet. But Curtis refused to allow it. Nina told him Willow sent a text saying she decided to stay in DC with Drew because it was getting late. Nina vowed that she wouldn’t let Drew ruin Willow’s life and career. Drew promised he’d be by Willow’s side for whatever came next. “No you won’t,” Willow said. Carly told Jack this wasn’t the first time Josslyn lost the man she loved. “She’s gonna have to face the loss and grief at some point” Carly told Jack, who commented that everyone faced grief differently. Trina told Josslyn it didn’t help sitting in Dex’s apartment alone in her own grief. She suggested they watch a movie or go to a church and said a prayer. Josslyn told Trina it helped to spend time in the place where she and Dex were happiest. Josslyn promised Trina she wouldn’t do anything she regretted. Josslyn thanked Trina for being the best friend she could have asked for. Curtis told Nina if she went to DC, she’d be the one who made things worse. Drew told Willow nothing was more important than her. Carly heard about the fire on the top floor of The Harbor View Towers through a call about deliveries being unable to be made. She told Jack that Sonny lived on the top floor of the penthouse. Michael was wheeled into GH. Sonny told Lucas (Van Hansis) to do everything he could to save his son. Michael was diagnosed as having forty percent third degree burns over half his body. Lucas told Isaiah the patient was his nephew so he needed him to take over. “Michael is powerful with a never ending bank account to back him up…what if he wins?” Willow asked. “He won’t,” Drew assured. Curtis told Nina she’d be better off calling a lawyer, adding “Maybe you should consider what it could cost Drew.” Chase and Sasha talked about their Christmases. He told Sasha he got everything on his list except the one thing he wanted. “For Brook Lynn to be pregnant” Sasha said. Brook Lynn told Lois she and Chase were actively trying to get pregnant which wasn’t hard when she was pregnant before. “And you and I both know that I wasn’t trying,” Brook Lynn said. Drew told Willow he wanted to be with her the way she needed. Willow told Drew her feelings for him were real and in a perfect world, she’d be free to act on them. Curtis told Nina that Drew was driven by self interest. Curtis told Nina they should test the theory that Drew was willing to risk his political career for Willow. He suggested he call a contact with The Invader with a tip about Drew and Willow being together. Nina asked Curtis what was in it for him. Sasha told Chase maybe it will happen if they stop putting pressure on each other (he and Brook Lynn). Brook Lynn wondered whether her not getting pregnant was karma. “What if I’m being punished for giving up my baby?” Josslyn picked up Dex’s gun and a box of bullets and debated about loading it. Carly rushed into GH with Jack and was relieved both Jason and Sonny were okay. Noticing the looks on their faces, she asked “What’s wrong?” “It’s Michael, Carly he’s hurt” Sonny answered. Jason and Sonny told Carly what happened, about Michael being on fire and it wasn’t good. “It wasn’t an accident. Someone was trying to take you out and Michael paid the price” Carly said angrily. Curtis explained how some minority shareholders weren’t happy about him being CEO and would need to buy out his contract. Nina realized Curtis wanted Drew to appear incompetent so they’d rally around him (Curtis). Portia called Curtis and told him Michael Corinthos was brought in and was burned in a fire and may not make it. Lois told Brook Lynn she couldn’t look back and had to move forward. Jack came to Dex’s apartment and told Josslyn he needed her to come with him immediately. Sasha told Chase he and Brook Lynn would be amazing parents. Lois told Brook Lynn she needed to see her doctor and get checked out. She said “It’s all going to work out.” Josslyn entered GH with Jack. Michael woke up and Isaiah told him to stay calm and strong. Lucas told Carly that Michael had third degree burns over forty percent of his body and they weren’t sure whether he’d make it. Nina called Drew and told him Michael was in the hospital and demanded he just put Willow on the phone. “Nina, what’s wrong?” Willow asked. “Michael’s at General Hospital in critical condition” Nina answered. “What?” Willow said. “There’s been a fire. He’s badly burned. It’s serious. You need to come home right now” Nina told a shocked Willow.

Thursday

Nina (Cynthia Watros) told Willow going to GH to see Michael (Chad Duell) would be a huge mistake. Lucas (Van Hansis) would only tell Drew (Cameron Mathison) that Michael was in the Burn Unit ICU and wasn’t permitted to give Drew the prognosis. “Drew, if you want to do something for Michael leave” Curtis (Donnell Turner) said. Alexis (Nancy Grahan) arrived at GH where Kristina told her she couldn’t lose Michael too. Chase (Josh Swickward) and Anna (Finola Hughes) told Carly (Laura Wright) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) they were headed over to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) apartment. Anna told Carly to reach out if she needed anything while Chase gave his word they’d find out who did this. Carly and Josslyn went in to see Michael. “What if he dies?” Josslyn asked in tears. “He’s not going to die. Michael’s gonna survive this…he has to” Carly answered comforting her daughter. Sonny and Jason entered his burned out penthouse. Sonny was grateful Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) were at Carly’s with Donna. Jason said this should never have happened and it was his fault. Drew told Curtis this may be the last time he saw Michael and he wouldn’t let him ruin it. Kristina told Alexis that Michael was the person she went to when something was wrong and he’d hug her and tell her everything was okay. “What if he never hugged me again?” Kristina asked. Diane told Carly and Josslyn that Michael filed for divorce from Willow and she was served the papers in DC. “Where Willow spent the night with Drew,” Diane told them. Martin (Michael E. Knight) came to Nina’s and told Willow that although what happened to Michael was tragic, she had to petition the court for temporary sole custody of her children and she had to do it now. “Absolutely not,” Willow said. Sonny told Jason whatever did this was coming after him but got his son instead so they had to stop them dead in their tracks. Jason told Sonny they needed an exit strategy and had to get out soon, adding he couldn’t risk what happened to Michael happening to Danny. Curtis told Drew the only thing he could do for Michael was to pray. Alexis told Kristina she had to be strong for Michael. Willow refused to take Michael’s children from him while he was waiting for his life. She left for GH to do with her estranged husband’s doctors. Martin assured Nina he had an ace up his sleeve. Josslyn walked away not waiting to hear about Willow being in bed with Drew while Michael was on fire. Diane told Carly they had to petition the court for temporary sole custody because once they took the children away from Willow, it would be harder for her to get them back. Since Michael was unable to express his wishes, Diane asked Carly “What do you want to do?” Jason gave his statement to Anna and Chase. Martin told Nina that Michael gave Willow power of attorney to make medical decisions for him and never changed it. Martin told Nina that Willow was unaware of the power she yielded. Josslyn ran into Willow, who asked how Michael was. “Like you give a damn” Josslyn said angrily. Alexis and Sonny went to look for Kristina. Lucas suggested Carly step away while they check Michael’s burns for infection. Willow commented that she would have thought Josslyn of all people would understand. Carly lit a candle and said a prayer for Michael. Josslyn reminded Willow that when she was into Dex (Evan Hofer) before she broke up with Cameron (William Lipton) she wasn’t married with small kids. Drew told Carly how sorry he was for Michael being hurt. Carly told Drew he didn’t care about anyone else but himself and commented how she could have missed how self centered he was. Drew told Carly he cared about her and went to prison for her. Sonny found Kristina on GH’s roof. Kristina felt selfish that she was afraid to see Michael like that. Sonny assured when she sees Michael she won’t see him helpless. Molly (Kristen Vaganos) arrived at GH to offer her support to Kristina. Jason arrived at GH. Lucas told him the burn team was working on Michael, who was sedated and didn’t feel anything. Jason thought about cradling Michael as a baby and vowing to always protect him. He asked Lucas whether he could see Michael. Nina refused to let Diane, Chase and the social worker take Wiley and Amelia away even though they had a court order. Nina pleaded with Diane not to do this. Jack (Charles Mesure) arrived at Sonny’s penthouse. He and Anna discussed the explosive. Anna said it’s more than likely it was manufactured and something they’ve seen before. “I may be able to help,” Jack told Anna, adding it may take some digging but the bureau has come across something like this before. Josslyn told Willow that Michael should have seen the destruction of his marriage coming. Willow said she didn’t see it coming so how could Michael. Josslyn reminded Willow she fell for Michael when she was with Chase and fell for Drew when she was with Michael. “I can’t wait to see who you leave Drew for. And you will. Because what do you get when you marry a cheating wife? A cheating wife” Josslyn said. You can attack me all you want. But Michael is in that burn unit because of you…and you know it” Drew told Carly. Alexis joined Sonny on the roof. He told her Kristina was stronger than she thought and would be okay. Kristina watched from the hall as Jason sat with Michael. Molly joined her to offer her sister support.

Friday

Jason (Steve Burton) sat at Michael’s (Chad Duell) bedside until he had to leave the room so the medical professionals could give Michael something for the pain. “You were the one who brought Sonny into his life. How could you let this happen again?” Drew (Cameron Mathison) asked Carly (Laura Wright). “In a year or two, you’re going to move on to your next hero” Josslyn (Eden McCoy) told Willow (Katelyn MacMuellen). Sonny (Maurice Benard) was on GH’s roof and prayed to Morgan to watch over his brother. Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) appeared. Rick (Rick Hearst) exchanged barbs with Alexis (Nancy Grahan) then was shown to his table where he was meeting with a client. Lucy (Lynn Herring) told Sidwell (Carlos Roto) to Bobbie’s and told him about the late Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman). Jack (Charles Mesure) told Collette about speaking with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) about the explosion that put Michael Corinthos in the hospital. Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and commented how hard it was leaving work at GH especially when she knew the patient like Michael Corinthos. “What happened to Michael?” Sasha asked Felicia. “None of what you did was about what was best for Michael. It was about what you wanted” Drew told Carly. “We need to find out who wanted Sonny Cornithos eliminated and who had access to a WSB device” Jack told Collette. “That’s enough…leave my daughter alone” Nina (Cynthia Watros) demanded when she overheard Josslyn calling Willow out for having sex with Drew in the Quartermaine nursery. Rick told Ava (Maura West) that she’ll never see a penny of that money. Cyrus (Jeff Kober) listened as Alexis and Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) talked about what happened to Michael. Sasha rushed out of The Metro Court when Felicia told her Michael was in the burn unit at GH. Isaiah urged Sonny to take care of himself. Carly told Drew he did her a huge favor when he dumped her. “Good because I’m a lot happier without you” Drew said then left the chapel. Nina told Josslyn she was a lot like her mother. “Thank you. I could say the same about Willow” Josslyn said, calling them both lying liars who lie, then walked away. “What do Port Charles and I need to know about our newest resident?” Lucy asked Sidwell. Felicia and Maxie talked about Sasha’s reaction to Michael’s burns. Felicia told Maxie she didn’t want a day to go by without telling her how much she loved her. Jason found Sasha outside Michael’s room and told her the doctors didn’t know if he’d be okay. Sonny came to the chapel and told Carly whoever sent the explosion device was after him. Nina told Willow that Diane and a social worker came to her apartment and took custody of Wiley and Amelia. Willow rushed into Drew’s arms when he came off the elevator. “You have to help me, they took my kids,” Willow told Drew. Jack came to GH and bumped into Josslyn. He told her he had some updates about the stabbing of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). Ava asked Rick whether he could use his past relationship with Alexis to help her. Martin (Michael E. Knight) arrived at Cafe Cherie. Cyrus asked Martin to help him regain access to patients at GH. Diane interrupted to talk with Martin about the Cornithos custody case. Alexis didn’t welcome Rick sitting down at her table. Jack emailed Josslyn the witness list from those questioned about Dex’s stabbing and suggested she speak with the witnesses. Seeing Felicia, Josslyn said she knew where to start. Sonny told Carly he was supposed to protect Michael. Sasha cried to Jason about Michael not deserving this because he was a good man. Nina showed Willow the court order. Drew said he could call in some favors to get an emergency custody hearing but it wouldn’t happen before some time next week. Willow said she could be away from her kids that long especially with Michael being in the hospital. Lucy told Sidwell not to hesitate to call her if he needed anything else. “You could spare your client the upset of a defeat and advise her to compromise now” Diane told Rick. Alexis asked Rick to leave because staring at her was causing her to lose her appetite. Carly told Sonny they had to put up a united front and be Michael’s strength. Drew told Willow her only leverage for getting her kids back was using her power as Michael’s medical proxy to take away Carly and Sonny’s access to their son. Jason offered to give Sasha a ride home. Carly asked Portia (Brooke Kerr) whether she could recommend any long term burn centers. Willow interrupted and announced she’s Michael’s wife and would be making all the medical decisions from now on. After hearing the elevator bell, Felicia told Josslyn she remembered how Cyrus Renault was ringing a bell but stopped at the time of Dex’s stabbing. Dressed in hospital scrubs, Cyrus told Michael his pain would soon end and his soul would go home. Then, he took out a bottle of digitalis and prepared to put it in the IV.
